Chapter 16

~Ash's POV~

No, not this again. First, I was left alone with her for an entire day. Now, I was going to share a room with her. This was not how I wanted to spend my week in Kanto. Well, not that I hated the idea of being with her in the same room, but still. I knew it was going to get really awkward. There was no way I would be able to share a room with the opposite gender. Even worse, my crush. What if there was only one bed? What would happen then? Or what if...

"Yo, Ashy-boy?" Gary waved his hand in front of my face. "Are you even listening?"

My thoughts quickly left my head at the sound of his voice. Everyone was looking at me, awaiting for the answer to the question they have supposedly asked me. "Oh, um, sorry. I-I guess I kind of spaced out, haha..." I stammered.

"Uh yeah, we were calling you like 100 times."

"Okay Gary, you don't need to over exaggerate things." I rolled my eyes. "Anyways, what did you ask me?"

"If you were okay with rooming with Serena. You are fine with it, right?" Clemont asked.

Gary looked away and snickered. I scowled at him in return. He knew that even though I was not okay with it, I didn't have much of a choice but to stay with Serena anyways. I swear, he probably planned this with Miette from the start.

"Uh..." Clemont shrugged, giving up on me because I wouldn't answer. "How about you, Serena?"

"Huh? W-well, I was planning on being with Misty but..." As I continued to give Gary a death glare, I caught her looking at me from the corner of my eye before finishing her sentence. "I-I don't know. I guess it would be-"

"Well, everyone already has a room, so you two have no choice anyways." Miette butted in, cutting Serena off as Gary nodded in agreement.

I saw that coming from the start, I already knew I was going to end up staying with her. But I was having a hard time understanding what I really felt. I wanted Serena to convince them it would be best for her to move to another room, but then at the same time, I didn't want her to. I wanted her to stay, and share the same room with me. These were the two things that confused me. I don't know how I really feel.

Also, it concerned me that she showed like, no emotion when we were told that we would be rooming together. I was freaking out and turned the colour of a tomato, while she showed nothing whatsoever. She didn't act surprised, and there wasn't even a tint of blush on her cheeks.

It kind of upset me, because that was a sign she did not have the same feelings I do towards her. But she did just get out of a relationship, so I guess it would make sense for her not to like me in that way.

"No, I don't approve!" Misty yelled.

Well, I knew where this was going. The first thing that would come out of her mouth would always be the same thing.

"I will not allow Serena alone with this pervert!"

Knew it.

"I-I'll be fine Misty." Serena reassured. "Ash really isn't a perv, and you know that."

"And I'm pretty sure I've made it clear I wasn't one on my first day here." I mumbled to myself.

Miette had a terrified look on her face, like I just killed someone. "W-wait, you're a pervert?!"

"Look what you did, Misty!" I raged. "Now she thinks I'm a pervert, when I'm really not!"

"Well, that's because you are one!" She yelled back.

Clemont began to panick, and tried to stop us with little to no avail. "G-guys! P-please stop! You won't get anywhere with fighting!"

He was completely ignored as Misty and I continued to shout at eachother.

"Am not!"

"Are to!"

Gary decided to join in on the action, taking his place on my side. "Ash is not a pervert! He shows no signs of being one! Who knows, maybe you are the pervert, Misty!"

Misty scoffed. "You're one to talk! You're even more of a perv than Ash!"

"Oh, please! I am not that much of a perv."

"That much?!" Misty repeated.

Paul wacked Gary on the head. "Alright you guys, that's enough."

Gary held his head. "Why'd you only hit me?" He cried.

Misty sighed and gave up on getting me to change rooms. There was no way it was happening anyways. She was just getting calmed down, until Gary showed up in front of her again. He ignored Paul, and continued to argue with Misty. I sweat dropped. There was one thing Gary never did, and that was listening.

"This was all so sudden, wasn't it?"

The voice was Serena's. She was watching the same scene as I was, of Gary and Misty.

"Uh, yeah." I nodded. "I never thought I'd be stuck in a room with you, haha..."

She looked up at me and giggled.

I furrowed my eyebrows. "W-what's so funny?"

"I meant the trip to Kanto, dummy." She said through her laughs.

"O-oh..." I turned away as my cheeks turned red of embarrasment. I thought she was talking about us rooming together, but nope. "Uh, y-yeah." I stuttered, trying to hide the fact I was thinking about that. "I can't believe we are going to Kanto, ehehe..."

"Or you can't believe you are sharing a room with me?" She smirked.

I playfully rolled my eyes. "Yeah yeah, whatever."

Actually, now that I thought of it, I don't think this would be that bad. Serena didn't look like she was against it, so there shouldn't be a reason why I should be, right? Maybe I was just worrying a little too much, like the last time I was alone with her for the day. This would be a good opportunity to get closer and spend more time with her. I mean, what guy wouldn't want that?

For once, I was cool with something Gary did. Plus Miette as well. I guess this was something to look forward to.

"Hurry up, we are going to miss our flight!" Misty said through her pants.

The day had finally coming. It was time for us to go to Kanto. We were so excited to go, and we stayed up all night talking about the things we were going to do there. We ended up sleeping really late last night, resulting in everyone waking up late the next morning.

We were running through the airport, trying not to miss our flight, which was leaving in about three minutes. Everyone was staring at us as we ran, thinking we were crazy. It was pretty hard to run as well, due to the amount of people at the airport I was constantly bumping into.

"Guys, s-slow down!" Clemont cried as he followed far behind.

"We can't! Keep running, we need to catch our plane!" I replied, almost out of breath.

"C'mon big brother, pick up the pace!" Bonnie shouted at him, annoyed at how slow her brother was.

Although Clemont and Bonnie were siblings, they both had complete different personalites. Bonnie was so energetic and always moved around, while Clemont was the complete opposite.

"We're almost there!" Serena pointed in front of her towards the entrance of our flight.

As the doors were about to close, Drew managed to make it there first and tell the lady we were gettting on. Luckily, she let us in but told us to hurry up because the plane would be leaving soon. We did as we were told, and caught the plane. Thank arceus.

"Aw man, that was too much running for me..." Kenny slumped into his seat.

Barry took his seat beside Kenny. "You can say that again."

Gary took the spot next to me. "M-man up, you two. It wasn't tiring at all, I-I don't get why you guys are complaining."

"Says the one panting like crazy and covered in sweat from head to toe." I smirked.

Gary wiped his forehead with his shirt. "So what? That doesn't mean I'm tired."

"It kind of does."

He shrugged and took a sip from his water bottle. As much as Gary thought he was better than everyone else, it didn't seem like it.

I leaned back in my seat and looked out the window as Pikachu curled up in my lap and quickly fell asleep. The plane was taking off. The sight of Lumiose City slowly vanished as we left Kalos. We were now on our way to Kanto, and I couldn't wait.

"Ashy, wake up!"

"Damn, he's a heavy sleeper." Miette sweat dropped.

"WAKE UP!!!" Misty shouted into my ear.

"Agghhh!!" I cried as I covered my ear.

Misty placed her hands on her hips. "There ya go, easy peasy."

"Arceus, Misty! That hurt! I could go deaf!"

"Deaf? Stop overreacting. And that was the only way to wake you up, since nothing else would. Anyways, let's go. We're here."

Pushing everything away, my eyes lit up with joy. I ran out the plane doors and sped through the flight of stairs of the plane. Everyone followed close behind, soon catching up to me. I inhaled in the air, the smell of Kanto filled my nose.

"I'm home!!!" I jumped.

"Yeah!" Gary added.

"We're actually here, my home region!" Misty said, looking around her.

A smile spread across my face. This was going to be a great week.

"So, it looks like we will be getting to the cottages soon." Miette said as she examined the map in her hand.

"We better be, I'm getting tired from all this walking." May complained and slumped her shoulders.

"Same here..." Clemont groaned.

"And I'm hungry too..." I rubbed my stomach.

Kenny sweat dropped. "You were full of energy when we got here, what happened?"

"I honestly don't know..." I sighed.

About ten minutes after, we eventually made it to to our destination. The cottages were quite large, and looked really nice. Both were near one another, so it would be easy to for us to visit eachother.

"Ah, they look amazing!" Serena squealed.

"There's a lake too! Let's go fishing!" Bonnie exclaimed.

"A little later, Bonnie." Clemont said.

Footsteps were then heard behind us. I was the first to turn around, while the others followed after me.

"Excuse me, are you guys the winners of the contest?"

In front us was a guy, slightly older than we were. He had tan skin and brown, spikey hair. He was wearing beige bottoms with a forest green polo, and an orange vest layered on top.

"Huh? Y-yeah, we are." Dawn replied.

"I see. Well, welcome to the Kanto region. My name is Brock, and I am going to be your guide throughout the week."
