Chapter 13
~Ash's POV~
"You want to talk to me...?" Serena said as she showed herself from behind.
Miette looked at her. "Yeah..." She replied.
The rest of the girls realized she was the girl from the picture earlier. Their eyes all widened as they stared at Miette.
Misty stepped in front of Serena. "Oh sorry, the Kalos Queen is busy right now, so she doesn't have time for an interview or any autographs. Have a good day!" She closed the door on Miette's face.
"Misty!" Dawn glared. "That was rude!"
"Who cares?" Misty said. "It's her! The girl who is also dating Ca-" Iris placed her hand on Misty's mouth, stopping her from talking. She motioned to Serena, who was listening to us in confusion.
"What's going on?" Serena asked.
"N-nothing! We don't know who this Miette girl is, ehehehe..." Iris scratched her head.
I sighed. Good thing Iris acted fast, or else Misty would've revealed everything right in front of Serena. The whole point of the photo was for Serena to find out about Calem herself, but now that Miette was here, our plans were completely thrown out the window.
I opened the door, revealing Miette, who was still there, shocked at what Misty did. "Uh, s-sorry." I sweat dropped. "Just ignore what happened, please and thank you."
"Y-yeah, okay." She slowly nodded, starting to feel a little creeped out by Misty. We stood there in awkward silence for awhile until she spoke up again. "So can I speak to Serena? I am not here for pictures or anything, so no need to worry about that."
"Oh, sure. Come in." May smiled. We all stepped aside, allowing her to enter the dorm.
I followed behind the girls as they led Miette to the living room. I looked down to my feet as I walked. Serena had no idea what was about to happen. Everyone here knew, but her. Time to prepare for her reaction, this was not going to be good.
The girls allowed Miette to take a seat on one of the couches. Misty, Iris and Serena sat in front of her while the rest of us stood.
May facepalmed as she saw Misty and Iris with them. "Guys! She wants to talk to Serena, so leave them alone!"
"Oh, r-right." Iris sweat dropped. "Sorry." She got up along with Misty.
As we were about to leave the room, Miette stopped us. "No, it's alright. You don't have to leave, you can stay. I guess it's okay for her friends to know about it too."
The thing was, we already knew what she was going to say. We decided to play along, and pretend we knew nothing.
"Yeah, okay." Dawn nodded as we sat down.
The anxiety I was feeling was over the top. Just waiting for her to tell the bad news to Serena made my nervousness go to a whole different level. And I could tell the rest of the girls were feeling the same.
"So, what's up? What do you need to talk about?"
"I-it's about Calem..." Miette said.
"Calem?" Serena repeated.
Miette didn't look too well. I could tell it was hard for her to say it, since she was dating Calem as well.
Miette nodded. "Yeah, I have to talk to you about him."
"You know him?" Serena asked.
"Mhm. He is very important to me. Well, was important." Miette clenched her fist. "He means nothing to me now."
"Huh? What do you mean? Did something happen?"
I felt really uncomfortable right now, it felt wrong being here. This was only supposed to be between Miette and Serena, but here we were with them. Well, Miette said we could stay, so I guess it was okay. But that didn't change how uncomfortable I was feeling.
"Yeah, something did happen." Miette replied. "It upset me when I first found out, and I am still very upset about it now. You may not be glad to hear this, but it's for the best."
Crap. She's going to tell her. This was it, it was time for Serena to know. This was not going to be great. I looked down to the floor, trying to keep myself distracted. The rest of the girls kept listening, each with worried expressions. Even Misty, who usually had the most scariest face, had a softened, anxious look.
"Wait..." Serena said. "Who are you to Calem? Are you like, a close friend? Or a sister?"
"No..." Miette slowly shaked her head. "I am more than a close friend."
"Huh?"
"I-I am Calem's girlfriend, just like you."
I swallowed the gum I was chewing. I silently coughed as I punched my throat. She said it, she finally said it. We all looked at Serena, to see her reaction.
"Girlfriend? How, he is already dating me..."
"Well, he is dating me as well. To put it into other words, Calem is cheating with the both of us." As Miette spoke, she handed Serena the photo that had already gone viral on the internet.
Serena looked at the photo. "No... h-he can't be..." Her voice cracked.
"I-I'm sorry..." Miette closed her eyes. "I couldn't believe it too..."
She kept staring at the photo. As much as she wanted to stop, she couldn't. The more she stared, the more she started to believe he actually was cheating. I quickly looked away, not being able to see her like that as a tear dripped down her cheek.
"Serena...?" Dawn attempted to place her hand on her shoulder. Before she could, Serena ran out of the living room, dropping the photo onto the ground.
"Serena, wait!" I got up and tried to follow her, before I felt a hand on my wrist, holding me back.
"No, Ash. Just leave her alone for now, she needs it." Misty said, as her grip on my wrist tightened.
"Erg..."
I wanted to go to her, I wanted to comfort her and tell her everything would be okay. But deep down I knew it was for the best to leave her be for now.
"We all feel the same, Ash. But we need to give her some time to herself." May said.
"Y-yeah..." I calmed myself down. "Okay."
Iris sat back down in front of Miette, who still looked very upset about what happened. "Hey, are you going to be alright?" She asked.
Miette nodded. "Don't worry about me, I'll be fine."
"How did you even find out that Calem was cheating? Or actually, how did you not know he was cheating? He is like well known around Kalos, since he is dating the kalos queen. I am pretty sure you have seen a picture of them at least once." Misty said.
"I was in the Hoenn region for three whole months, because of a family emergency. Because I was there, I knew nothing about the things that were going on around Kalos." She replied.
"Ah, that makes sense." May said.
I sweat dropped, lost as to what was happening. "I-I don't get it."
"You see, Ash. Serena and Calem have only been dating for two months, meaning they have started dating while Miette was still at Hoenn. That's why she didn't know about Calem and Serena until she got back here to Kalos. Makes sense?" Dawn said, trying her best to explain everything.
"Yeah, I understand now." I said.
"Anyways thanks for coming, and we are sorry for what happened with Calem. Maybe you can come back some other time for a proper conversation with Serena?" Misty offered.
Miette stood up. "Yeah, sure. Thanks for having me."
She soon left, and headed back home. I felt bad for her, since it looked hard for her to tell Serena what was happening. But she managed to do it, without even shredding a single tear.
Everyone agreed to leave Serena alone for the rest of the day, and just talk to her tommorow morning. As much as we wanted to go comfort her, we had no choice but to give her some time.
I left the dorm, and went out for fresh air. I needed to get some things off my head, today wasn't going too good. I needed a laugh, something to keep my mind off Serena. Then I thought of Gary. He could be annoying as hell, but I knew he could help me forget about her with his stupidness.

"Ha! Beat your ass!" Gary said, showing off his victory.
"Whatever. I was just going easy on you." Paul crossed his arms.
I was sitting in the living room with the guys. Gary let me into his dorm after I knocked on his door, and we have been playing video games ever since. I ended up telling the guys everything that happened between Calem, Serena and Miette. They didn't show much interest, especially Gary. The first thing that came out of his mouth when I told him was that now I had a chance at getting Serena to like me. I wanted that happen, but it wasn't really the greatest time to be teasing me like that.
"Wanna go for another round?" Gary said.
"Nah, I'm good." Paul denied, getting up from the floor and walking into the kitchen to get food.
"Alright then, how about you, Ashy?"
"Yeah, sure." I nodded, pushing my thoughts to the side. "You're on."
I spent the entire afternoon at their dorm. But had to leave soon, since I didn't want to stay too late. When I got back to my dorm, things were a little bit different without Serena. She didn't bother to come out of her room the entire night. She even missed dinner. Sooner than I knew it, it was time to call it night. Hope she would okay by tommorow.

It was the next morning, and everyone was in the living room minding their own business. Serena hadn't come out of her room yet, which really began to worry me.
"Guys, I'm going to check on Serena." I said, getting up from my seat.
"Do you want us to come with you?" Dawn asked.
I shaked my head. "No, it'll be fine. I'll do it."
I walked to her door. I took a deep breath, and brought my hand up. I hesitated at first, but then went for it and knocked on her door.
"Serena?" I called. "Can you open the door?"
I waited for quite awhile, but no answer. I knocked again. "Serena? Are you there?"
Waited again, yet no answer. I was about to open the door myself until she opened it at the last second. She looked like she had been crying all night, her eyes were red and slightly swollen.
"Hey, are you okay?" I said, trying to use the most softest tone possible.
"Y-yeah..."
I frowned. "Are you sure? You don't look like it."
"It's just..." She spoke as she walked further into her room, allowing me to come inside. "I don't know how I'm feeling right now. I feel sad, but then at the same time really angry."
"I guess that's the feeling you get when you find out your boyfriend is cheating." The expression on her face saddened even more after hearing the word boyfriend. "Oh, I'm s-sorry! I didn't mean to say that!" I panicked.
"No, it's okay." She said. "It's the truth, he really is cheating."
She looked like she was on the verge of tears. I already couldn't stand seeing the state she was in now, and I could only imagine how bad things would get if she started crying.
"Serena..."
"I-it's just that I can't believe it... Calem was such a nice guy. I truly did love him, and I thought he felt the same too. But I was wrong...he cheated on me. The pain I'm feeling right now is unbearable, Ash. It hurts just thinking about it. What did I do... was I not good enough for him?" A tear dripped down her cheek.
Without thinking, I wrapped my arms around her back. She stood there in surprise, unable to move. "A-ash?" She chirped.
"It's okay. He didn't deserve you from the start anyways." I said as I rubbed her back. "If he really did love you back, he wouldn't be doing this. You are a great girl, Serena. I don't understand what's not to like. So don't say you aren't good enough, okay? Because you are, in my eyes."
I felt a pair of arms wrap around my back. I blushed the color of a tomato after realizing she was hugging me back.
"Thank you, Ash..."
"Uh, y-yeah. Y-your welcome." I stuttered, not being able to think straight anymore.
She soon let go of me, and wiped the tears from her eyes.
"So, what are you going to do now...?" I asked.
She looked up at me. "I'm going to dump Calem."
