2: Rude Much?!
Ah...... another day.
I groggily rubbed my eyes after turning off my alarm clock. Then, as usual, I took a bath, dressed up, and went to work. Emmi greeted me with a wide smile, heard my stomach growl, and gave me food. But this time, they were 5 yummy chocolate crinkles and coffee.
"Um, Emmi..... thanks." I smiled at her, and she smiled back. Though I couldn't remember any favor I have done for her, she still was this kind to me. She even offered me a job back then without even completely knowing who I was.
After we opened the shop, customers started coming in and out. I gladly went to each people's tables and got their orders. Everything was normal until 3 weirdly dressed men went inside. They reminded me of the giggling men at the playground yesterday. I tried not to stare but they were really eye catching with hooded jackets and shades.Seriously, who wears jackets in a bright morning and shades inside a building?
They sat on a table and didn't seem to care about the stares they're getting.
"Good morning sirs," I greeted them with a smile. "May I take your orders?"
"Um, ham and cheese sandwich for me." the man with red cap said. I can't see their faces because they still haven't removed their sunglasses. I nodded and wrote down his order.
"I want milkshake!" the one beside him squealed, which was very unusual for a sane man to do. The man with cap booped his head in annoyance. "OW! Hyung~~!!!!"
"Aish, so annoying...." the third one shook his head and turned to face me. "I'll have coffee latte."
"Arasso, sir! Do you have anything else to order?" I asked while glancing at the other two men. They were shoving each other and trying to flick the other's forehead. The mature one seemed to glare at them through his glasses. I didn't think he heard me because of the two, so I repeated what I said. "Um, do you have anything else to order, sir?"
"No!" he yelled at me quite too loud. Huh, not because he's a customer means that he could yell at me! But on second thought, maybe he was just stressed by his childish companions. "Ah, no. You can go now."
I nodded and left, trying to control my temper.
"What's with the face?" Emmi asked as we bumped into each other at the counter.
"Nothing, a customer accidentally yelled at me." I huffed and Emmi looked angered. "No, no, I don't think he did that on purpose. It's just his friends were being childish and annoying so.... yeah."
Emmi sighed at tapped my shoulder. "Okay... I'll go to table 3 now. Be careful with that man, Yuan. Understand?"
"It's not like he's gonna kill me." I rolled my eyes and laughed. And so, I went to give the table 5 order to the counter. When the orders were complete, I carried the tray and went to the weird men's table. "Here are your orders, sirs."
"OOOOOOHHH milkshake!!!!"
"Shut up! You look like you haven't eaten shake for a long time!" red cap man yelled at immature man. I tried to ignore them and was about to place the coffee latte on the table, when immature man accidentally bumped my arm. The cup tilted sideways and some of the coffee spilled on mature man's lap. He yelped and his shades dropped.
"AHHH!!! What the hell?!!"
"Ah sorry sir! Mianheyo! I'm really sorry!" I grabbed some tissue and was about to wipe his lap when he shoved me away.
"Get off! I'll do it myself! Careless idiot..." he mumbled the last part, but I still heard it. My blood started to boil, but I tried my best not to say it's actually his friend's fault. Telling a customer that he's wrong is a big no-no, just like what boss always says. Kind of a stupid belief, but yeah.
"I'm sorry sir." I mumbled. He glared at me and for the first time, I saw his face. It seemed to be a big deal to them since the other two started pointing at him with wide eyes.
"Hyung.... Hyung... Y-your shades...."
My head tilted to the side as I studied his face. He seemed vaguely familiar........ He quickly put back his shades and stood up, bringing his friends with him. He shoved 10$ onto my hand which was wayyyyyyy too much for the actual amount of what they ordered.
"Keep the change, we're leaving." he mumbled and went out of the shop with his annoying friends. I scoffed.
"It wasn't my fault his coffee spilled! His friends were flailing their arms like idiots!" Emmi came rushing to my side and looked at the messy table.
"What happened here?"
"It's those weird men. I accidentally spilled coffee on him because his friend accidentally bumped my arm. He took off his shades, GOD what's the problem about getting your face revealed?? And then they walked out. Poof!" I sarcastically waved my hands, and then passed the 10$ bill to her hand.
"WHAT THE HELL IS THIS???" Emmi screeched.
"That's their payment. He said to 'keep the change'." I answered while mocking his voice a little exaggerated.
"They think all we think about is money? Ah, if they ever step a foot in my shop, I'll deep fry their rich asses!" Oh my God, the demonic side of Emmi came out because of me. The other customers started giving her stares so I held her shoulder and guided her back to the counter.
"Hey, Emm, calm down. You're scaring the other customers."
She took a few deep breaths to keep her cool, and then flashed a bright smile like nothing happened. "Well then. Shall we get back to work, Yuan?"
"Gosh Emmi you're driving me crazy..." I sighed as I shook my head. "Okay, I'll go and clean up the table.
She showed me a thumbs up sign, making me laugh. As I tried to continue working, I couldn't help but think back at that scene.
That rude man...
Why was he even born?!!
