Chapter 16

"What?! There's no way they are mates...she's human!" Terrina yelled pointing at Leslie.

Leslie ignored the crazy fiancee, still staring at Adai. "Adai? What's going on?"

"Mates? I would know if she was my mate right?" Adai looked down at the floor confused and completely ignoring Leslie.

"Not necessarily." Mom spoke up. All eyes in the room shot to her. "Have you touched yet? Skin to skin." She asked the two.

Adai and Leslie looked at each other wide eyed before they both shook their heads.

"Leslie can be both human and Gaea. Remember that we have been mating for centuries. Yes, Adai you are royalty and can only mate with Gaea but if Leslie has just a little Gaea blood, it will start surfacing just as Anahi's did." Mom tried to explain.

"No. I've never heard of that happening to any mated human. He is to be my mate. I am Gaea and will be the next Queen of Cats." Terrina still tried to protest.

"I'm just confused..." Leslie mumbled.

"No Animal Royalty has mated a human because they all change into Gaea...after the mating that is." Asha explained simply.

"But...Adeke said that when he first saw Anahi it was like he was hit by a train and everything stopped. I didn't feel that when I saw Leslie..." Adai looked worried as he gestured to my mate.

I shimmered back into my normal form, somehow still wrapped around Adeke, odd..."Lez just touch him. Get it over with, I was a little busy before you came yelling at my door and would kind of like to get back to it."

"Agreed." Adeke rumbled, slipping his arm around my waist and putting his face to my neck. His lips grazed my skin and I couldn't help the soft purring that escaped me.

"Eww. Please stop with the PDA." Molly's annoying voice broke through my 'Adeke bubble'. Of course I couldn't stop the hiss that I directed her way. Stupid Barbie.

"Okay, enough Girls." Mom sighed exasperated. "Adai just touch her already so we can get rid of these two." She waved her hand in the general direction of Terrina and Molly.

"But..." Adai started to protest. Leslie didn't really hive him a choice, suddenly reaching out and grabbing ahold of Adai's hand. An audible gasp escaped my brother before a huge smile broke out on his face and he pulled Lez into his arms fully. "Mine." He whispered softly.

"Wow. Anahi, I understand now..." Lez told me, moaning at Adai's claim over her.

"This seriously can't be happening...." Terrina muttered angrily, her pale face red.

"Yeah, so guess what this means for you two?" Sage taunted the two women, waving her fingers at them. "Bye, bye, barbies!"

"I might have felt sorry for you, if only you weren't such bitches..." Asha said to them.

"Just wait until my father hears about this!" Terrina yelled, turning on her heel and stomping out of the lounge. Molly glared at me once more before following her friend out the door.

"Thank Gaea my son doesn't have to marry that brat!" Mom collapsed into one of the sofas sighing deeply.

"I'll drink to that!" Dad suddenly said bursting through the door that the Barbies just left through, carrying a bottle of champagne.

"Yeah, yeah!" Sage sang, arms in the air causing us all to chuckle at her antics.

"Wow..." Asha muttered, clearly not impressed.

"Party pooper." Sage stuck her tongue out at her twin. I couldn't help but smile at the two of them and how different they are from one another.

"Um...Son?" Dad's deep voice said. I took a glance over to my dad to see his deep brown eyes focused behind one of the couches. Prying myself away from Adeke I looked behind the couch to find Leslie and Adai on the floor in a heavy make-out session. Hmm...time for payback? I think so!

I smiled innocently at Adeke who had walked up behind me. "Would you mind finding me a nice cold pitcher of water, please?"

My mate's brilliant green eyes looked at me in confusion before a grin spread across his face. "That's my girl!"

Adeke walked away from me and I couldn't stop my eyes from wandering over the muscles in his back, straining against his cotton tee shirt. I licked my lips, cocking my head to the side as my gaze wandered even lower before his ass was hidden from my view by the bar he walked behind.

"Anahi!" Mom's voice laughed next me. I pulled my eyes away from my mate to look at her, blushing slightly. "Dad and I have a meeting, we'll see you later." Mom kissed my cheek and followed my dad who had apparently already said goodbye, I was just to focused on Adeke...again.

"Adai! Would you two get up off the floor already!" Sage hollared down at the couple. Of course they paid no attention to her, too involved in each other.

"Here you go, love." Adeke's sensual voice said close to my ear. I turned to him wanting nothing more than to pull him to me just feel his body against my own but the sight of the pitcher of ice water in his hands cooled me down.

I giggled stupidly and took it from him. I turned back to see my twin sisters with identical evil grins on their faces. Deciding it would be safer to have something between us when I did it, I carefully climbed up on the couch, the water in front of me. I held it over Adai and Lez for a brief moment before quickly turning it upside down right over their heads.

The couple instantly jumped to their feet with Leslie screaming. Adai spun towards me almost roaring in anger from being split from his mate. I didn't even flinch, I could only burst out laughing and jump back off the couch, surprisingly landing on my feet instead of my butt.

"Oh, so you think that's funny?" Adai said, his face now filled with mischief instead of anger. I took one look at his dripping wet appearance and laughed a little harder. His response was to jump over the couch, shimmering into his dark leopard mid-jump. My instincts took over and I too changed into my large cat and jumped out of his way.

Adai gave me a funny looking cat smile before he pounced, almost landing on me. I playfully swiped my paw at his face, shoving him slightly. It wasn't until after Adai's head shoved me in my side roughly that I noticed the rumbling coming from behind us.

Adeke looked pissed. Hmm...I wonder if he knows we are playing? Turning my back on my brother I sauntered over to my mate. When I reached his legs I rubbed up against him purring loudly.

I changed back and found myself right where I wanted to be, wrapped around Adeke, my face inches from his. "We were just playing." I pouted at him running my fingers down his chest lightly.

His eyes softened as he looked down at me and smiled, "I know. I just couldn't help it..."

Yep, that's when I had to kiss him. His lips just too close not to! I attacked his soft, full lips like there was no tomorrow and moaned softly as he nipped my lip lightly with his teeth. When he slipped away quickly I moaned for a whole different reason.

"So not fair." I pouted at him. He only chuckled at me...still backing away from me might I add.

Abruptly I found Leslie at my side, rubbing a small towel through her hair glaring at me. "Just wait until I get ya back."

I laughed at her, unable to help myself. She kind of looked like a drowned rat with her crazy blonde hair and smudged mascara. "Poor thing." I cooed and patted her on her wet head. She only slapped my hand away and stuck her tongue out at me similar to Sage earlier...

"Dork." I replied to her.

"Okay that's enough children." Adeke said in a stern voice. He allergy up behind me, wrapping his arms around my middle and tugging me back against his hard chest.

I allowed myself a small moment of pleasure, just enjoying the feel of his hard muscles holding me tightly. I couldn't help but wish we were back in our room just the two of us and no other distractions...

"Well, as much fun as this has been....I've got places to be." Asha said clapping her hands and leaving the room.

"Yep." Sage agreed walking out the door, wiggling her fingers behind her as she left.

"So just the four of us...what now?" Adai asked.

"I'm ready for a nice stiff drink. It's not every day that I find I'm mated to a giant black cat..." Leslie said already walking towards the bar.

"Is this a bad thing?" Adai voice came out thick with worry.

"Let's just say that its a good thing you are sexy or I'm not sure if I could handle it. You had better be good in bed or the deal's off!" Leslie pointed at my brother...well as best she could with a bottle of Patron clasped tightly in her hand.

Adai jumped the bar and took my foster sister into his arms saying, "baby just you wait..."

I turned away quickly, before I could see my brother slobber all over Leslie's neck. Okay gross...my brother is mated to my sister! Wow doesn't that sound like incest!

"Give me that bottle!" I blurted grabbing the liquor and pulling off the cork in one smooth motion. I up-ended the bottle for several seconds, taking a couple gulps. When I set it down on the bar, it was quickly snatched up by my own mate.

I stared at his big strong hands as he gripped the bottle, then his tempting lips as he touched to bottle them. After several gulps he replaced the bottle to the counter, shook his head and made a face as the last of the alcohol made its way down his throat.

"Ug, that stuff is awful! Adai, your turn." Adeke shoved the bottle towards my brother, who still hadn't taken his eyes off Leslie.

"You don't like tequila?" I asked Adeke.

"Not that I don't like it, just don't prefer to drink it. Now this...would be right up my alley!" He reached over the counter and picked up the bottle of jager.

"Ew...licorice is all I taste with that stuff." I cringed just thinking about the last time I drank jager. Me and jager-bombs just do not go well together!

"Well then that bottle can be for you and I'll just keep this one here all to myself." Adeke grinned hugging the bottle to his chest.

"Oh, no. You are sharing that one with me buddy!" Adai reached for the bottle from across the bar.

Adeke quickly pulled it back, out of his reach grinning. "Nope all mine."

"Don't make me come take it from you!" Adai said grinning evilly.

"I'd like to see you try, kitty." Adeke joked.

"Kitty? I'll show you a kitty!" Adai laughed before he shimmered into his large black leopard. Adai vaulted the bar and landed just in front of my mate roaring.

Although I knew the two of them were joking with each other it took every ounce of willpower I had not to change into my clouded leopard and defend my mate. Adeke I'm sure could handle his own...yep, look there he goes...his beautiful green eyes started glowing and small shocks of electricity began shooting from his fingers.

Something flashed in front of me, just a blur of color that I couldn't distinguish. In an instant Adeke was pushed from his spot and flat on his back and standing in front of him was Leslie, her lips pulled back in a wicked looking snarl.

"Leslie! What the hell!" I ran over to them crouching down in front of my mate facing my sister.

She hissed at me this time, crouching down in front of Adai's cat form, protecting him.

"Lez. You don't want to start with me right now, trust me." I hissed at her, telling her to back down. She only looked angrier the longer we glared at each other. Several minutes later, of course, Leslie being her true self she glared at me one more time before rolling her big blue eyes and grinning widely.

"Payback's a bitch ain't it!" She sang before laughing at me. Two seconds later Leslie found herself on the floor, tackled by me as I playfully slapped her on the arms, cursing her and her 'payback'.

***Okay, I'm sorry its been so long! I've wrote this silly chapter at least five times and I still don't think it came out right...don't be surprised if you come back later and its worded different...I hope everyone still enjoys the chapter and will stick with me!!
