Chapter 99 - The Plan

Quick Author Note: The war arc here happens two weeks earlier than the manga.

- - -

Two months of work, and tomorrow is the day we fight- no, win. I put way too much work into this. We're going to fucking win. I mean, we're going to fight too, but we're going to win from fighting. You get it, right?

If you need a simplification, we're going to beat ass in a totally nonsexual way.

Can you tell that I have lost some of my sanity?

As much as I would love to grovel about my lost sanity (the tiny bits I had left), I know that's not going to help anything. I can gain that back after this. Right now, I need to focus on the present.

Today, I have a bunch of meetings with different groups of heroes because we have multiple large areas to cover with different plans for each. This may seem a bit last minute, and it is. The reason why I am telling them now instead of earlier is to prevent information from getting to the traitor heroes just in case I did miss one there. Hell, I didn't even invite all the heroes that are involved. I only invited some. Those that I didn't invite, I'm literally going to text them tomorrow at six in the morning and say 'yo, imma need y'all at this place in two hours.' I know that's a dick move on my part, but it's for the same reason as the previous. To even further prove that point, the heroes will know only about the plans for their area. The only people who know every plan is the investigation squad.

Besides, I can't really speak to every hero in Japan. That's a ludicrous expectation. Sure, I could divide it amongst my other team members, but I deny they want that job either. Nobody wants to talk to every hero in Japan with reason. Well, except a hero fan, but we're going to count them out.

Before I actually go to these meetings, I believe it would be best to summarize the big points of what we have learned in the last two months.

1. Shigaraki still hasn't been seen, but we do know that he has been doing steroids the entire time. In other words, he's buffing up. We don't know where he is exactly doing this, but I strongly believe he is at the hospital since that's where all the equipment is.

2. There's a nomu army also under the hospital. Great!

3. There are multiple Paranormal Liberation Army bases throughout Japan. However, the big motherfucker is the Gunga Mountain Villa.

That's the basics. I will go into the details of how we're going to be dealing with all this at the meetings themselves. It should also provide more information in general because there's too much information to remember. I probably forgot something significant with my luck.

Speaking of those meetings, I have four today. I have two in the morning, one in the afternoon, and one in the evening. The ones in the morning are less significant but still significant compared to the ones in the afternoon and evening. That's why more time is dedicated to the later ones, especially the evening one. That one is the most important.

This is going to be terrible! I don't like explaining shit to people. I just want to get it done. Is that too much to ask for? Actually, considering they didn't want to pay a quirkless for a while, it probably is.

Let's focus back on the present.

Currently, it's a little past 6 AM, and I am looking through some powerpoints I made for the meetings to make sure I didn't miss anything too big. I need to leave by seven to get to the HC building early to set this up, but I rather fix it now rather than before the meeting in case anything is missing or wrong. Besides, I ain't going to be at that building any longer than I have to.

I check the first meeting's powerpoint first, and I can't help the airy laughter that escapes me. I made these last week, so I don't remember how most of this looks off the top of my head. I also hate making powerpoints. I prefer to forget that process. However, apparently, instead of putting arrows pointing where groups are supposed to go, I made an animation of Michael Jackson coming in and pointing at them?

I would like to say that I am surprised at my past self, but I really ain't. Throughout the past two months, I've been doing ridiculous shit like this, though usually it's to avoid work, not incorporated. For example, I was working on a gadget late at night when I suddenly wanted a chocolate milkshake from McDonalds. I left without consideration, went to Nemuri's dorm (cause that bitch may say she is sleeping, but she is a liar (and she was the only squad member available at the time)), and asked her to drive me to McDonalds at one in the fucking morning for a morning. Thank above she was willing to actually do it no questions asked. After we got our milkshakes, we ended up in a 24/7 bowling alley playing a game when I remembered 'oh yeah I have to save Japan'. I dragged Nemuri out in the middle of a game so that we can go back and get to it.

That's not to say I didn't do this kind of shit before my trauma. I did. It was just often planned. All these decisions are very impulsive. Like, on the spot impulsive. I don't know if I evolved that way because I have grown so used to the stress of expectations that I am now chill or if it's because I am avoiding the stress.

It's probably the second, and it's my coping mechanism. I don't know how to feel about it. All I can say is that at least I haven't had a severe mental breakdown!

Returning to the topic at hand, outside of Michael Jackson, I see nothing wrong with this powerpoint. It's just Michael Jackson. Everything else is right.

I am interrupted by knocking from Shouta's door, "Izuku, can I come in?" Shouta's muffled voice comes through.

"Yeah," I call back as I turn to the next powerpoint. I can hear Shouta coming in, but I don't bother to look up. He can talk.

"Already at it again?" Shouta asks from beside me, looking over my shoulder at the tablet I've been doing everything on nowadays. This would be a concern if it was anyone else, but he knows just about everything about this case as the investigation squad. He's probably the reason I ain't in a psych ward yet because I have him to talk to.

"I'm just checking things over one last time. I don't want to check it right before," I notice a missing detail on one slide since it was just discovered a couple of days ago and add it.

Shouta hums, "Got it. How early do you plan on being?"

"About a half hour, why?"

"Want me to drive you there? I don't mind leaving early."

I nod, "Can we get Starbucks on the way there? I'll pay. I just really want a biscuit. Maybe a hot chocolate."

"You have to get everything yourself and get me a black coffee."

"Ah, yes. I'm going to ask the hobo looking man to get some Starbucks. They probably wouldn't serve you because they would assume you have no money," I say sarcastically as I practically zoom through the powerpoints. I am not seeing anything else wrong, so that's a good thing! When I don't hear a response, I roll my eyes, "I planned on doing so anyway, dumbass."

"Brat. I'll pay you for your troubles."

"Deal. Now leave. I want to leave at seven."

Shouta hums in confirmation, "How are you doing, kid?" That's become a more common question over the past two months. With Japan on my shoulders practically, he's been keeping a much closer eye on my mental state along with Hizashi and Nemuri. It's honestly shocking that he hasn't removed me from the case yet, but he has forced me to take breaks and step away from everything more times than I can count. Honestly, Shouta is the best big brother. I am salty he didn't follow my command, but I appreciate him asking despite my attitude.

"I'm good right now. Wait till tonight."

"I thought so but I want to be sure."

Shouta doesn't even properly end the conversation. He just leaves. Dumbass.

Let's finish checking these!

- - -

After downing a biscuit and some hot chocolate, I enter the meeting room with my tablet at hand.

Off-topic, I was carrying around a suitcase with a bunch of encrypted paperwork at hand for a couple of weeks, but it became annoying quick, especially with one hand. I love writing as it helps me remember shit, but I needed to upgrade from my left arm's sake. Besides, paperwork doesn't have powerpoints and other technology shit built in it, so it's a win-win for me.

It totally did not take Tsukauchi convincing me that it's a better option, not at all.

Anyway, the room is honestly more of an auditorium than a meeting room. Due to the amount of people that are going to be here, we decided to have it here instead of at a large meeting table like one would expect. It has rows of chairs, so that should be plenty for the heroes that I will be entertaining. If not, the late motherfuckers can stand.

Tsukauchi is already here, checking the room to make sure it is safe. He doesn't physically acknowledge me as he is busy making sure nobody has bugged the room.

"Found any spy kid's equipment yet?" I entertain out loud. I approach my podium at the front of the room and get to work plugging in my tablet to the projector system.

Tsukauchi huffs out a laugh, "No, and hopefully I don't. It would be bad if we do find something."

"No shit. You realize you could just ask me to check with my phone, right? I'm overprepared."

"...I hate you."

"Shhhh. You love me. You want me to check?"

"Please." I do as asked. It only took making a pair of glasses to realize that this feature might be useful in general, so I added it to my phone recently as I believe it will be useful. Being overprepared is my new motto.

"Nothing is here. You can go take a nap or something."

"Hypocrite."

"Excuse me now," I look up from my setup to find him approaching, " we don't play this game. I am a hyperactive child. I can get away with it. You're old. You don't."

"I deny we will get anywhere with this conversation. Do you have everything together?"

"Obviously. Just because I have mentally lost it does not mean I can't do my job, nitwit."

"I was asking to see if you needed help with anything."

"Unless you are willing to donate your right arm to me, I'm good. If people are out there waiting, you can start bringing them in and pass out the stickers I gave to you the other day."

Tsukauchi follows through with that command, and heroes start coming in. This is a relatively small group of about 20 heroes, but once everybody comes together tomorrow, there will at least be 80 or so heroes. That amount should be plenty for this section of the operation.

As heroes are coming in, sitting down, and chatting, Sir and Gran Torino come in and stand beside me. They don't say anything, but they at least nod in acknowledgement. Even if they had something they wanted to say to me, they will have to wait until later since there are heroes around. Tsukauchi joins me soon after. Literally a minute before the meeting starts, Shouta comes in and sticks to the back. He already knows what this is about, so he technically doesn't need to be here, but I don't want to show that Shouta knows, especially since Vlad King is being forced here. Even if this mission does not involve either of them, it involves the students. That's why they are here.

As soon as the clock hits eight, I take the center stage. It feels like something was switched on at this moment as I take a serious demeanor,

"Hello, and thank you for coming this morning despite the last minute request. I promise I have a classified reason for that. Before I start, I would like to clarify a few things.

First, this is not all the people involved. In fact, some people here may not be involved at all. There is a reason behind why not everyone is here. You will be receiving flash drives by the end of this with everyone who will be involved and who is under you. As a prewarning, most of these are hero students, but I promise that they are plenty capable for the job.

Second, a couple of you may have been given a sticker, " I signal to Tsukauchi to move to the next sign which has the fancy letters T and A, "If you have received a T, you are not involved in the operation but rather your students are. I believe the teachers should be aware of what is going on with their students. If you have received an A, I need you to stay after as I have a special task that I need you to do specifically."

I look towards Tsukauchi, and he puts up the next slide that has the map of Jaku City, where all of this hell will be taking place,

"Without further ado, let's get through this. The goal of this operation is to evacuate the entirety of Jaku City,"

I get a vast amount of expressions from disbelief to unbelieving, but I continue,

"I understand that this is extreme, and it is. While I can not tell you the direct reason for this, what I can say is that this is a force that I don't want to underestimate. I deny the whole city is going to be left to ruins. I will even be surprised if more than twenty percent of the city gets destroyed. However, I will not put lives on the line just because of a belief. That is unfair on the people. If we're lucky, our goal will be accomplished before everyone is evacuated, making our lives easier. I won't be placing bets on that though."

I signal to Tsukauchi click, and I am so glad that I am facing away from my presentation. Otherwise, I would be laughing at Michael Jackson pointing at the locations. Since I am facing the people, I get to see their confusion at why the fuck Michael Jackson is there. Either way, for clarification, he is pointing at two locations. One is near the hospital, and the other is near Gunga Mountain Villa. It looks weird as both are at the city edge and pretty close, but I promise it works.

"Ignore Michael Jackson and focus on where he is pointing. I made this during a mental breakdown probably, and before anyone asks, I promise the information is accurate as it was checked over this morning," I quickly explain before going back to serious mode,

"The locations indicated are where the evacuations have to start. I expect all efforts to be focused here first. From there, you will work outwards from these points until the job is complete or if the mission is completed early. That is when everyone should divide into their specified groups and follow the routes provided as these were made with the demographic and topography of each neighborhood in mind. The routes are demonstrated in the powerpoint and also on the flash drives.

There should be no immediate danger throughout this. That's a distance away, so don't worry about that and maybe tell the people that as well if you believe it will help them calm down. I don't actively encourage that method, but if it's needed, I won't stop you.

The operation will begin tomorrow morning at eight. I expect everyone to be at the location specified at seven to gather their groups as everyone else won't know about this until an hour before. They will be sent basic information on it, but I hope that you guys will straighten out any problems that they have since most are new to this and have little time to look over said information."

I take a deep breathe because I have been talking for too long, but that's the general plan: evacuate people closest to the danger zones first and work their way out. Honestly, that was the easiest plan to come up with. Evacuation plans just require a little bit of research and wham-bam-good-to-go-ma'am.

The rest of the meeting is spent answering their questions like:

How much time do we have? The quicker the better, but don't give someone a heart attack over it. As long as the two areas I indicated earlier are evacuated, no civilians are going to die.

How many heroes are expected to be there? At least 80. There could be more, but I can't remember every detail of every plan. It could be upwards of 100 for all I know. I just know that this entire thing combined takes over 500 heroes to pull off as safely as possible.

Is there a leader of the whole evacuation? No. Just follow the plans.

Is there a possibility of running into a villain? Yes, but they are likely to be either already injured are by themselves. They should be stopped before they reach the evacuation zones. If not, shame on the heroes on that operation.

You know, questions like that. It goes on for an hour before I can even start the next meeting. I make sure to tell them to keep this to themselves before kicking them out and having the others deal with them. I ask Sir to pass out the flash drives (while telling them that if they lose their flash drives to text me immediately so that I can explode them) and Gran Torino to bring in the next group of people. Meanwhile, I get the next powerpoint presentation up. Thankfully, it does not take long for everyone to switch out, especially since these are small groups. It allows me to start this meeting only a couple minutes later.

"Hello everyone, and apologies for running behind. Welcome to the 'Fuck Them' operation. Before I start, I just want to say that, if you were in the previous meeting, I expect you to do this before that. I promise there will be plenty of time as long as you play your cards right. Without further ado, let's get through this.

To simply put, we have some traitors in the hero community that I need your help to capture. Everything has been set up for you. They will be patrolling as normal. All you need to do is come in and capture them. They are on your normal routes too, so they would not be suspicious if you come across them. I don't care how you do this as long as you try not to make a public scene as you know your capabilities better than I do. If a public scene does happen, that's fine. I just don't want a bunch of them happening at the same time as that would lower the trust people have in heroes.

I will be giving out flash drives at the end of this showing who you will be capturing and possible ways of capturing them. There will also be information about the traitor in general such as their capabilities and quirk so that you are extra prepared if you do end up fighting them. If you were at the previous meeting, this information is on the same flash drive, so you don't need to get another one. Also keep in mind that, if you lose them, please text me so that I can blow them up to prevent the information from getting in the wrong hands.

That is all I have to say about this, honestly. I don't want to go over every person and their capture as that would unnecessarily expand this speech, especially when you can just read about it. If you have any questions, I added my temporary email on there for you to message me on.

Thank you for coming."

Honestly, this is the short speech. Considering there's only ten people, I think you can see why. I quickly pass out the flash drives and kick them out, leaving just the investigation squad in the room. I don't hesitate to snatch the water bottle offered to me by Sir and down it in one goal.

"You do realize that you can take a break to drink water while giving a speech, correct?" Sir asks.

I nod as I empty the bottle, "I know. I just don't."

"Not a smart move."

"Whatever. I'm mentally and emotionally dead. I deserve some sympathy."

Gran Torino nods in agreement to me, "You've put a lot of work into this, kid. I don't blame you one bit."

"Thanks, Torino. You guys did too, so don't let me take all the credit now."

"Tsukauchi, Sir, and I probably did less than 50% of the work together. You did a vast majority of it."

"It's not a lie," Tsukauchi adds. Did you really have to mention his quirk now of all times?

I shrug, "I just want this over with. I don't want one excuse to screw this whole thing up. I rather do it once and get it done."

"I understand, " Sir says, "We all do."

"Good. Now, let's go get lunch, and we ain't going to your fucking dessert place for lunch, Torino. I need meat."

"Dang it," The old man mutters.

The afternoon meeting is probably going to be my favorite simply because it's the only meeting I don't have to talk at.

You see, this meeting is about the Gunga Mountain Villa raid. This is a pretty significant raid, so I wanted someone from the investigation squad to watch over it and update me on what is going on unlike with the Evacuation and Fuck Them operations. I want a confirmed leader, practically speaking.

After some considering, I decided that Sir will be the leader in my place. Sir took the position thankfully, and we spent way too many hours going over the plan and backup plans so that he can make a decision without having to think about it if needed. Thinking takes up time, after all. As such, Sir is also the one talking in this meeting while I get to press all the buttons and feel cool.

This group of heroes is actually a decent size with about 50 here. The entire raid actually has over 150 heroes participating in it, so this is a big-ass raid. This is kind of dramatic, especially if the original plan follows through. However, if it doesn't follow through, we need all the help we can get there. There's also a particular threat there that I am worried about that will require that large of a team if it gets out of hand.

I firmly believe in 'better safe than sorry,' especially when lives are on the line.

Sir steps up to the plate,

"Good afternoon, everyone, and thank you for coming despite the last minute invitation. While we would have preferred to have more time to gather everyone together, it was deemed too big of a risk, so I hope you understand. That is also why only a portion of the people involved in the operation are here. It is also why we ask to only communicate with the members here about the operation until tomorrow at 6. That is when we will be telling the others involved.

Our goal is to raid Gunga Mountain Villa and to arrest as many people there as possible. The people there are involved in a significantly large and dangerous group that could start a war in Japan called the Paranormal Liberation Front. This group was originally called the Meta Liberation Army, but they had their name changed after they joined forces with the League of Villains. Members of the League of Villains are expected to be there for clarification before anyone asks.

Tomorrow morning at eight, they will be having a meeting where they will gather everyone in the same room. Our plan is to gas the building with an invisible gas made by Izuku that will temporarily turn off their quirk factors and put them to sleep. From there, everyone will enter with masks to arrest them. The purpose to capture as many The issue with this plan is that it might not get everyone, and it could even be discovered early if someone has the quirk to detect the gas. While the second isn't a high probability due to the components, the first is more likely. With the gas, we're hoping that these people who do try to escape while be quirkless and tired enough to be captured with only a few problems.

There is only one opponent that we are truly concerned about: Gigantomachia. Some of you will be asked to go straight to him, induce him more than the others, and capture him. He shouldn't react to you at all, but, if we believe that the situation will change, we will warn you as soon as possible and tell you to get away.

This is a seemingly a straight-forward plan that will result in the fewest casualties, but anything can go wrong. I will be leading and adjusting the plan as needed, but it would run even better if you run over the information that will be given to you. Everyone will be given a flashdrive specifically made for them. In it will include all possible people that could be there, though Izuku recommends you ignore that and focus on the more dangerous opponents that are in a separate folder, the backup plans, and what you are expected to do. If you have any questions about it, Izuku's temporary email will be there where you can ask him questions. Finally, if you somehow lose your flashdrive, please text Izuku so that he can deactivate it to prevent information spread.

Now, start asking your questions."

I know, that's a lot. Let me summarize it for you: we're gassing them motherfuckers to make their lives as easy as possible.

With that in mind, a few heroes may be wondering why we are doing this because gassing an entire place is technically illegal. That's why it hasn't been part of my plans until now. For those curious why it's illegal, it's because these gasses can cause allergic reactions and kill people. To further work against me, the gas I made is new, and that's makes it even harder to get approved because I have get it approved so that I can use the gas in general situations first before I go around gassing all my problems.

Let's just say that working on a mission like this has its benefits. That along with pressuring (threatening) the HC for over a month got the permission forms I needed signed.

The questions tended to revolve around why we have so much of our resources put into this when we don't really need them there. To simply, Murphy's Law. I want to be prepared for every situation possible. Otherwise, most of their other questions are probably answered on their flashdrives. I really went all out with them.

The only other question that really stood out to me is what to do if people get away. We simply told them not to worry about it, but there's a plan to that. This is probably the riskiest part of the entire thing, but we are hoping that the people that do escape go to the other bases. Then, a couple days later, those bases will be raided by the heroes that did not have to go through hell so they will be captured anyway. It's just a couple days later. There's, of course, the risk that they may start shit, but they should be a small enough group that we can capture them with no issues.

So, I guess it's a measured risk.

Outside of that, I will be honest though: I didn't pay too much attention to them at this point. Sir is on this, and I trust Sir to keep everything in order. If I go overboard with worrying about this operation as well, I will need to become an alcoholic to keep my sanity together.

And I don't think alcohol is going to be helpful for tomorrow, especially when I am leading the evening operation.

Who knows? Maybe that will break my sanity anyway.

It takes a couple of hours until we get our freedom, and we have an hour to eat and settle down before dealing with the final meeting.

I'll see you this evening.

- - -

Good evening.

The auditorium has over a 100 heroes in it, and there's so many more that aren't here. This is the biggest operation out of all of them with several reasons. Hell, most of the top heroes are in this group.

This is the group I am leading into battle tomorrow. They are relying on me to pull this off.

This is the most dangerous operation to be on because, while the others have one main goal to focus on, this has many things going on.

Too many things.

"Izuku, you can start," Tsukauchi informs me as he goes to his position to play with the powerpoint. I don't wanna talk about this. I just wanna go pew pew, kill some zombies, and arrest these dumbass bitches.

I swallow my annoyance and step forward,

"Hello everyone, and I am sorry for any inconvenience this has caused you. However, I need your help to pull this off. Before I start, some of you may have received a sticker. I don't care what the sticker is as I brought them at the 1000 yen store during my lunch break: if you have a sticker, I need you to see me after this. I also want to mention that there are more heroes involved in this operation. The reason why not every hero is here is to prevent information leaking just in case there is a traitor I did not catch. Everyone else will learn about being on this operation tomorrow at six.

In addition, at the end of this, everyone will be receiving a flashdrive with everything you need to know about the mission, your job, and how to contact me if needed in detail. That way, I can just give a summary of the entire thing. If I go over individual parts, we're going to be here all night. If you somehow manage to lose your flashdrive despite the hours of work I put into these bastards, you're kinda fucked and will have to figure out what you have to do on your own. All I ask is that you tell me so that I can explode to prevent information from spreading out,"

Can you tell I am done with these meetings? I feel that, as long as I spread what I need to spread, I can spread it any way I like. I'm sticking to that philosophy. I take a deep breath before I continue,

"With all that said, let's begin. Please save your questions for the end, and please thing 'hey will this question be on the flashdrive?' before asking it as I made these motherfuckers detailed. You can always email me your questions later as I have a temporary email made specifically for this, and I will probably be up all night.

We're raiding Jaku General Hospital tomorrow at eight. It turns out, the doctor that runs the hospital has a villain base underneath it where he is creating nomus and probably holding Shigaraki. This doctor was originally part of the League of Villains, but after the League of Villains won this fight, they gained an army, changed their name to the Paranormal Liberation Front, and have been growing since. During this growing phase, Shigaraki has been worked on to be much stronger than before. We don't know if Shigaraki will attack or not, but we have a plan in place if he does.

However, Shigaraki is not going to be our biggest threat here. Our biggest threat are those nomus down there. While they will only attack on command, the doctor would have to be stupid not to activate them during the attack. Not only do those that will be fighting them have to worry about the nomus, especially the dark blues that regenerate, but you will also have to careful with your surroundings.

While this is going down, the hospital will be going through the process of evacuation. I know it is not ideal, but if we try to evacuate the hospital before, it may give the opponent enough time to prepare against us. Those on the evacuation team will help get the patients out of the hospital with the doctors and nurses. You will immediately be set to this job the moment you enter that building. We're hoping that the majority of the place will be evacuated by the time the nomus are activated.

This is pretty basic explanation, but I promise that everything will be answered on those flashdrives and more. I got your positions and how you will take care of your jobs down to the science literally. If not, you can always email me with questions or clarification.

For now, if you have any questions about the general mission, you may ask now."

You know, a third time is the charm as I made sure that everyone knew that I put so much shit on those flashdrives, so not many questions were asked. I spent two weeks and hundreds of hours putting those together as I had to make one for all the heroes at the meetings. Then, for the heroes that weren't involved in the meetings, they will be getting a file sent to their email with everything they need to know. Not as much as the heroes here for safety purposes, but just enough to get their job done. That also took a while.

Putting together information for the other heroes took up a majority of my time, but I did it to get the job done as efficiently as possible. If I try to tell everyone their part, it will just get confusing. By taking this route, I increased our chances of people following directions.

As long as they read said directions...I don't want to think about that.

Giving these speeches was also a big part of it. I made sure to say what was needed to be said and nothing more. That's why the Evacuation and 'Fuck Them' teams know nothing about what is going on outside of their territory including the Paranormal Liberation Front. While the two raid teams do know about it, they don't know about the evacuation and traitors being caught.

Any slip of information could screw us over if said to the wrong person. Sure, we revealed quite a bit, especially here, but it's needed to get the job done. I just hope to God that there were no traitors at any of the meetings despite my thorough look through.

There shouldn't be, but you never know. I may be paranoid at this point, but I rather be paranoid than fucked over.

After confirming some details, everyone but a select few leave. When I say a select few, I really mean a select few.

Only four heroes remain from the meeting: Endeavor, Eraserhead, Miriko, and Snipe. Most can probably understand why the first two are there. However, Miriko and Snipe are interesting choices.

Miriko is the 5th prohero in the rankings, and she is currently the highest ranking female hero. Her quirk is rabbit, allowing her to do things a rabbit do except way better to be honest. She's a fucking badass and pretty similar to me, especially in personality. I have a special mission for her, thus why she is here.

Snipe is...well, he's my most interesting choice given our relationship. You'll see why I have him here.

Once everyone else has gone home with their flashdrives, I signal for them to approach so we can have an up and personal conversation.

"Okay, I'm just going to get straight to the point: I have a special mission for you guys. Endeavor, Snipe, Eraser, you three together are going to be our best at dealing with the higher-level nomu. That's why I'm asking you guys to focus on those."

"That's obvious," Endeavor points out, "There's something else."

I roll my eyes at him, "And Shigaraki. Endeavor, if Shigaraki arrives, you're first defense because he's probably going to beyond those nomus."

"How strong are you expecting him to be?"

"Enough to destroy a good portion of the town with a single touch, and we all know Jaku isn't small. Eraser, you need to focus on Shigaraki as well. If it's between the nomus and Shigaraki, Shigaraki is the greater danger. Snipe, if you have a choice between Shigaraki and the nomus, choose the nomus. You have that grenade launcher and gun I made you test for me, right?"

"Course, kid," Snipe responds.

"Use those and the bullets that I will give you in the morning. That's why I built them. With those, you're the most efficient nomu killer we got. However, if you have a chance, please shoot Shigaraki. They should work on him as well." Snipe mutters a 'got it.'

Yeah, that's why I chose Snipe. I built the perfect weaponry to deal with nomu, and Snipe has the perfect skills and quirk for it. That's not something I'm going to overlook. He's going to be a fucking monster. Nomus are going to regret their lives.

Should I be telling him to shoot a living person with that shit? Probably not, but if Shigaraki is going to be as strong as I think he is going to be, he can take a couple of grenades probably.

"What about me? Am I second line?" Miriko questions.

I turn to her, "No, you have a different mission entirely."

"But you have a second line," Miriko says with no hesitation.

"That's me. I built the shit to deal with that motherfucker."

"Oh, sounds like fun! Now, what about me?" See what I mean?

"You're with me. We're going ahead and fucking shit up."

"We're destroying shit or killing nomus?"

"Probably both. I don't think we'll have much of a problem dealing with the lower-leveled fuckers. However, we need to make sure to destroy the place to keep the bastards from regaining the materials there."

"Sounds good to me!"

"No questions?"

"Nope! Actually, wait, is anybody else going to be with us?"

"No. Just the two of us."

"Got it! I've been curious to see what you're like to work with, so two birds with one stone!"

"I don't know if I should feel honored or concerned given your reputation, but get into it I guess. So no other questions?"

"Nope!"

"Alright then," I turn to the boys, "Any questions here?"

"Are there going to be any students there?" Endeavor asks. I'm not shocked by the question considering what he learned before.

"No. They're going to be doing a safer job. Anything else?" When all of them shake their heads, I sigh out loud, "Good! You can leave now. Rest well and see you guys tomorrow."

Endeavor and Snipe simply nod before they head out as Miriko gives an enthusiastic later.

Shouta, of course, doesn't leave.

"When do you plan on coming home?" Shouta questions as he looks over me like I just got in a fight.

I shrug, "Who knows-?"

Gran Torino interrupts, "Go home, kid. You need to rest for tomorrow. We don't need you passing out in the middle of the field. You've done plenty for us. Let us do the cleaning up."

"You sure?"

Tsukauchi nods, "Go before I have Eraser drag you out."

I gasp, "You wouldn't."

"I would."

"You bully! After everything we have been through together!"

"Eraser!" Shouta, of course, follows through as he wraps his arm around my shoulders and guides me out.

"INSPECTOR GADGET!" I call back dramatically.

"Bye, Izuku!"

"Later, kid!" Gran Torino hollers back.

"Rest well, Izuku," Sir kindly tells me while I am being dragged away. I thought he was my dad. Why is he letting this happen to me?

However, I don't fight Shouta as he leads us out quietly. It isn't until we are outside when Shouta says something.

"How are you feeling, kid?" Shouta inquires softly. He hasn't even removed his arm from me yet. I should be forcing him to let go, but the warmth and weight is comforting, sue me.

I sigh, "I just want to get tomorrow to get here so that we can win and not have to worry about this anymore."

"You seem confident."

"I put so much work into this, Sho. If any of this fails, I'm drowning myself in bleach." Shouta tightens his grip for a moment.

"Izuku, no matter what happens, you did your best. You can't predict everything."

"I can wish."

"But you can't. What you have put together is extraordinary. Even if one part fails, you have a backup plan in place. Remember that. Everything has to turn out terrible for it to not work out in our favor."

"I like to believe that, but Murphy's Law." This is when I notice that we aren't going on the sidewalk but going through the parking lot until we come across the UA car where Hizashi and Snipe are standing outside waiting. Hizashi waves while Snipe just nods in acknowledgement.

"You have this under control, kid. Have confidence in yourself," Shouta mutters as we approach the car.

Quietly, we all get in and go back to UA.

Once we get there, I try to lock myself away in my room, but Shouta stops me and forces me to rest for the night.

It's an anxiety-ridden night. I'm just glad Shouta is there.
