Chapter 87 - First Villain Act!
I thought this place was huge from a distance, but it's even bigger up close. For fuck sakes, it has a court yard where a bunch of people are just chilling! That just makes our life much harder. We end up scoping the outside of the building until we find a rusty-ass door that probably hasn't been used in a century.
I look back at my members, "Shouta and I will take left, you guys take right. Be careful, please."
I don't watch their reactions as I focus my attention back on the door and try to open it. With our luck, it's locked. I pull out my handy-dandy lock-picking kit and get to work picking it. Thankfully, the lock inside is not rusted, so I get the door opened within a minute.
I am the first to go inside to find that the room we enter is dark as hell. Obviously, it hasn't been used. Just like the door, it doesn't even look like it has been touched. After turning night-vision on, I find that it is disgusting.
"Yuck," I mumble as I go to the door across the room. I ain't going to check out the rats and shit.
That door takes a moment to break open. Then, I step out to find that it is in a lit hallway, which thankfully nobody is in. Not like super lit, since there is only candles lighting the place up, but it's enough to see where you are going. The rest of the squad steps out, and I close the door when I notice something interesting.
When I close it, it blends in with the wall.
"I think we found a secret room," I announce to the squad. Nemuri and Hizashi clap softly while Shouta faceplams. I roll my eyes at Shouta, "Let's get to it. Once again, be careful."
Hizashi and Nemuri offer the same thing before we part ways.
Shouta takes the lead since my dumbass would get us lost in a second. We stick closer to the walls, managing to blend in rather well since we're in all black. It helps us more that the candles are barely doing their jobs. I am tempted to just knock one over and catch the place on fire, but I decide to save that for another day. Then, to top all that off, these guys' robes obscure most of their vision and some of their hearing. It's a rather inconvenient design for them. Because of all that, we are able to sneak past multiple people without them noticing us. They don't suspect a thing.
Despite all this, Shouta and I's investigation doesn't lead us anywhere. The only things we do find are the rooms where these dumbass hoes chill and some rooms that look messy like they were rushing to get something out.
"Izuku, we just overheard somebody talk about an evacuation," Nemuri tells me through the intercom. I curse under my breath. I tap on Shouta's shoulder and guide him away from people so that we can talk. Once we are in private, I continue the conversation with Nemuri.
"Nemuri heard someone talk about an evacuation," I inform Shouta (since the dumbass bitch doesn't a way of communicating with the others) before continuing the conversation, "We found rooms with shit missing, so that makes sense. I suspect that they either guessed that the heroes would figure this place out or they have someone on the inside of the HC feeding them information. Either way, the evacuation happened, and that is not good. I don't think we're going to find anything at this point. This is all a decoy."
Hizashi's voice crackles through, "So we're evacuating?"
"Yeah, we're evacuating. There's no point trying to answer out of these suckers anyway. Too devoted. It's back to the drawing board."
"Got it."
The intercom turns off, and Shouta starts leading us back to the hidden entrance.
But can everything be that easy? LOL, nope!
The next thing I know, I hear fucking helicopters in the distance! The heroes really decided that it would be better to go in the loudest way possible instead of, I don't know, jumping the guy? Wouldn't that make everybody's lives much easier?
Apparently not if we are going this route.
And since even the robed people can hear it, they really did not aim for that route. The church peeps start running, cluttering the hallways to the point that Shouta and I have to practically make out with the wall to avoid the massacre. I wonder where they are going since the all are going in the same direction. Maybe to defend the place?
Shouta ends up snatching my left hand to keep us together so we don't join the wave. Thankfully, it empties just as fast as it fills, and he lets go.
"We need to hurry," Shouta states as he starts running, and I follow right after him.
I may be getting further away from it, but I can hear the chaos. Mostly yelling, but there is some familiar crackling and booming sounds.
"I think Endeavor and his interns are here," I tell Shouta as we get closer to the exit.
Shouta huffs, "Not surprising."
"How do you think he would react if he saw me here?"
"Not the time, kid."
We arrive at the door, and I am just about to open it when I am interrupted by the intercom.
"We're caught! You two need to get out! One of them can see through walls, and Endeavor is breaking through them! They're after you two!" Hizashi exclaims over the intercom.
"Shit! They got caught! One of the hoes can see through walls, and Endeavor is obviously breaking through them! We're found!" I explain quickly as I open the door. I shove Shouta in, ignoring the loud burning getting way too close for comfort. He doesn't hesitate to grab me by the back of the neck and shove me ahead to get to the door to outside.
"We're running?" Shouta asks as I break the door open since the rust is being a bitch.
We run outside and get some distance between us and the building before the wall breaks to reveal Endeavor with a bunch of heroes behind him.
I curse, "We can't outrun that, and with the different sized people, I could kill someone easily one way or another. We can't fight them either."
"ON YOUR KNEES, VILLAINS!" Endeavor hollers as he prepares an attack.
Shouta looks at me, "We either give up or we try and get them back and have them take them down."
The blast comes right towards us, and I rush forward with my wrists up ready for a blast, "Go get them! I'll distract! I promise I won't fight them!"
Shouta watches me hesitantly for a second, giving me a secret message that I can't figure out at the moment. However, he does run since Endeavor's fire would block their view for the most part. The see-through hoe might see him, but he can probably beat their ass as long as there isn't backup.
That's where I come in.
"Air burst!" I holler as I trigger an blast from the triggers, the fire disappearing soon after. As soon as it's gone, I reach up and remove my helmet to reveal myself with the fakest ass smile I can manage, "Settle down, it's your favorite quirkless boy!"
Yeah, that instantly makes them more aware. I'm actually a little shocked they aren't just attacking me, but I am aware enough that they might need my fake-ss wisdom for figure out where this group's fake-ass leader is.
It's silent for a moment. That allows me a chance to look over the crowd, and I can say that I don't recognize many of them. They must be from other countries, which does not work out well for me. If one of them has a quirk that works well against me, that's going to cause issues. I only recognize Endeavor, Burnin, Bakugo, and Todoroki.
Considering there are about 15-20 heroes here, that's not a very good ratio for me. I may be good, but I ain't that good.
Due to the silence, I take it as my que to continue, "Well, I see that the WHC was smart enough to figure this place out, yet they are still stupid enough to not realize that I am the hero of the story. The tragedy!"
"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING HERE, DEKU?!" Bakugo yells from the front.
My eyes brighten, "My homie! Did you miss me?!"
"NO, YOU DAMN NERD!"
"MY HEART IS SHATTERED! DO YOU KNOW HOW FRAGILE MY HEART IS?! IT'S NEARLY AS FRAGILE AS YOUR EGO!"
"I missed you," Todoroki says in an attempt to heal my soul, and maybe it did a little bit.
"OYE, SHUT UP!"
"AWW, I MISSED YOU TOO, BESTIE!"
Endeavor snaps, clearly tired of our shit, "Midoriya, stand down!"
"No. Since this is my villain speech, I might as well tell you all my goal!" I start to approach them just to be dramatic, and they instantly become more guarded. I can't help but take satisfaction in that. I continue, "My goal is to beat Flect Turn's ass! Don't you think that it would be ironic that a quirkless bitch beat his dumbass ass?"
The heroes that don't know me have decided that they have had enough, "What are we waiting for?! We should get him!" Shit. I need to stop this.
I pull out a baton with my free hand and spark it, "Oh, I recommend you stop right there! You see, if I stab this little thingy-ma-bobber into the ground, all of you will be knocked out. Maybe kill since some bodies can take a little more zap zap than others. Therefore, I recommend you keep your distance. I promise I'll get out of your hair! I just need some information!" Okay, maybe that's a horrible threat. It's really building into my villain vibes though. My social status is already destroyed, so I might as well enjoy the dark side while I am at it.
Another rando starts, "Like we're going to give you any-" However, they are interrupted.
"What do you want to know?" Endeavor asks, and all the heroes look at him incredulously.
"Why are you willing to offer him information?!" Another irrelevant hero asks.
"Because he isn't a villain. I would have never let him intern at my agency if he was." Is Endeavor defending me? What the fuck? Did I drink today? I don't think I did? Did Nemuri sneak something in? I'll ask later.
Less questions, more asking questions.
"He was probably manipulating you!" One of the heroes yell.
I click my tongue, "Why in the fuck would I manipulate Endeavor of all people-?"
Before I can finish my statement, a notice an old guy dressed like a toy soldier waving a wand around with music notes popping up. I don't know what those music notes do, but I shove my helmet back on and jump up to barely avoid some sharp-ass fingernails being thrown at me.
"IZUKU!" Hizashi yells over his com, and it nearly deafens me.
I mute myself from the rest of the crowd as I speak, "Homie, I'm good! I removed my helmet for distraction purposes! Y'all free yet?!"
I almost miss the 'yeah' as a flying squirrel women flies at me, and I kick her away midair only to barely avoid Bakugo.
"DIE!" Bakugo aims a blast at me, and that leaves me in a tough situation since there is ice coming up below me, which is where gravity is taking me. Who the fuck knows where else is there?
I need to step back. The squad should be here any minute, so I just need to distract a little longer.
I decide to use Bakugo to my advantage by shooting one of my waist grapples at him, having it latch onto his belt, and swing him down into the ice to keep it from getting any closer to me. I disengage the latch then and air blast myself away from the ground. Since I am going backwards, I nearly fall, but I manage to redeem myself. Unfortunately, that is a short victory as more heroes approach.
"Izuku, get back!"
I don't know who that is, but I decide to do just that to get as much distance as possible, using a couple of air blasts to keep them together.
"BACK OFF!"
Hizashi screams with his quirk, and it forces them to either fall to their knees or cover their ears. Good thing I had my helmet on! While they are distracted, Nemuri comes up after that chaos and uses her quirk to knock out the mother fuckers.
"We only have a few minutes to scram, let's go!" Nemuri calls as the last bitch collapses. Obviously, I have bigger plans since I instead approach the group of heroes, "Izuku, what are you doing?!"
"I am finally achieving my dreams," I explain with a smirk as I approach Bakugo. I pull out a permanent pen (don't ask me why I have that) and draw a dick on his cheek. Once I am satisfied with my work, I put it away and join the rest of the squad, "I'm ready!"
I can tell they are done with me. However, since we are in a rush, they can't really say anything to me. Score!
I end up following the squad this time until we arrive back to that stupid boat.
Before we step on it, Shouta stops me, "You want Nemuri to knock you out, and we'll wake you up when we get off?"
You know, I hate sleeping. However, if it gets me out of living through that experience again, "Please!"
Yeah, I can't tell you much of what happened after that. All I know is that I took off my helmet, Nemuri put her hand over my mouth and nose (which ew), and I smelled something sweet before blacking out.
- - -
Nemuri's quirk has one great benefit: when you wake up from it, you feel great. When I mean great, I mean you don't feel like jumping off a bridge for once! You actually feel rested!
Which may seem irrelevant for me, but you have to be on something fantastic to avoid that. Even I am still human. Sadly.
Either way, I wake up on an unfamiliar bed in an unfamiliar room. It takes me a moment to realize that I am in a bland-ass hotel room. What the fuck?
I don't hesitate to sit up and hop on my feet, instantly getting the attention of the squad members, who are sitting on the other bed.
"Excuse me, but you were suppose to wake me up once we got off the boat?! Why did you continue knocking me out until here?!" I question loudly as I attempt to cross my arms only to find one gone. Oh, of fucking course Shouta removed it.
Shouta rolls his eyes, "That was punishment for making me leave you behind and for, once again, cutting communications with you."
"Sir, now is not the time to teach me to value myself."
"Izuku," Shouta sighs, pinching the bridge of his nose, "Whatever. You needed it anyway."
I, in turn, roll my eyes at him, "And you followed through with his demands, Nemuri? How could you?! I thought we were besties!"
Nemuri glares at me as she stands up to her full height with her hands on her hips, "I literally told you to run, and you decided to draw a dick on Bakugo's face. You deserved it."
"I feel attacked."
"As you should."
Hizashi, the only good person in this entire group, offers me a smile, "I don't blame you, Izuku. I would do the same thing."
"SEE?! Y'all are just looking for an excuse to attack is all. Don't be dicks."
Shouta cuts me off, "We have more important things to focus on."
"Such a kill-joy. What happened during my reenactment of sleeping beauty?"
"We travelled to the Otheon capital city. Nezu suspects that there may be some action happening here since this is the closest to the base, so it's the best place to find some loose members for information."
I nod because I agree with that. Since they had to evacuate, some of them may have to go through town. There is the flaw that they may have already gone through as they have plenty of time, but there's also the fact that traveling at night (which is what time it is right now) is a bit sus. If they are having to carry bombs and shit, it's easier for them to blend in.
Now, since this place is probably huge, that makes our chances of finding them lower than deez nuts. However, we can always can some connections by hacking into police communications, so it is absolutely fine for us...
To some extent. With how shitty the police are in some countries since heroes technically took their jobs, I deny they are getting anybody. I will keep hope for my sanity, however.
"Do we know anything outside of that?" I ask because, despite that entire rant, we don't have a lot.
Shouta shakes his head, "The WHC hasn't reported anything useful either."
"So we're at a standstill?"
"Yeah."
"God fucking damn it. So what's the plan?" They all look at me, and it clicks, "Why am I having to come up with the plans? Y'all are the adults here."
Hizashi answers before anybody else can respond, "Because you come up with the best plans!"
"For the most part," Shouta intervenes before my ego gets too high, "We're here to pick out any flaws and make sure you don't do something stupid. This whole thing was your idea."
I raise my hands in innocence, "Excuse me, but I only wanted to kick Flect Turn's ass! The whole 'us running away and becoming villains' thing had nothing to do with me!"
"You would have ran to chase after him anyway."
Nemuri smirks, "He ain't wrong, Izu."
"Ma'am, shut your trap," I huff.
"So rude," She mutters as she goes to hog the bathroom.
I face the boys, "Back on topic, my only idea is to hack the police station, listen through there, and chase after whatever we need to chase. Even then, that is luck-based."
"Didn't you mention something about someone possibly being a mole in the WHC? Isn't that something we can chase after?" Hizashi points out. Fuck, I did say that.
Shouta adds to it, "Flect Turn has plenty of power. I wouldn't be surprised if he has connections in the legal force."
I click my tongue, "Well, fuck. WHY DIDN'T Y'ALL MENTION THIS?!"
"We thought you would remember, and shush before you get us kicked out."
"Alright, alright. Are you saying that he might have some shit on cops here?"
"It would prevent their base from being discovered for so long. It's certainly better than your Google maps theory about bad reviews."
"...yes, but did you have to bash on my idea? Ever wonder 'hey maybe thats why my favorite person izuku is screaming'?"
"Yes."
Hizashi wraps an arm around Shouta's waist, pulling him to his side, "Hey now. You have to give him props where it's due. It's a creative idea, and it has been done to attack businesses before. I don't see why it can't work in Izuku's idea either." Shouta simply rolls his eyes at the man.
"I'll beat Shouta's ass after I beat Flect Turn's ass. Right now, I need his expertise," I say to defuse the situation for now. Shouta raises his eyebrow at me, and I take it as my signal to continue, "Would you be able to sneak into a police station and plant some bugs?"
Shouta nods, "Should be relatively easy as long as I have someone distracting the front just in case. Do you even have bugs that can be planted?"
"Obviously! I always have bugs in my suit that I can use to get ahold of networks and hack. I didn't think I would need them this early, but it works out well!" Since I have my suit on still, I pull out some small pieces of metal from my pocket and set them on the bedside table, "Should be enough to take over the police station if needed."
"Good. I'm taking Nemuri with me."
"I ain't stopping you!"
Nemuri hears us as she opens the door and pokes her head out, "What about me?"
"I need you to go with Shouta to the police station and flirt with the cops while he plants some bugs."
"Oh, that's easy! Can one of you boys grab me a dress from my bag?"
"Not it," I mumble as I take a seat on the bed again. Hizashi ends up being the one to get her one, and she comes out slaying in a skin-tight dress, "Not too shabby."
"Thank you, Izu! Now, are we heading out, Sho?"
Shouta nods, glaring at Hizashi and I, "You two stay out of trouble. Izuku, don't leave this room. If you need something, send Hizashi."
I roll my eyes, "We'll be fine. Just don't get caught. If you do, call me first. If you aren't back within two hours, I'm automatically assuming the worst and going in guns blazing."
"We'll back back before then, so just stay out of trouble," Shouta mumbles as he heads out. As he is heading out, he ruffles my hair, earning him a glare. However, he doesn't see it as he just heads out with Nemuri right behind him.
I huff out loud, "Bitch."
Hizashi chuckles, "You know he cares about you."
"You're just defending him because you're his boyfriend."
"You should be concerned if I wasn't!"
"I mean, you aren't wrong. I just don't like you being right."
"I don't think you like anyone being right if it proves you wrong."
"Can you please stop attacking my superiority complex, please and thank you?"
"I'm sorry, Izu!"
"I'll take it. Now, do you mind if I send you out somewhere by yourself?"
"Uh, that's suspicious."
"Okay, maybe that is a weird way of phrasing it. I'll agree with you there. Basically, can you go to the store and pick me up some hair dye and face masks? Maybe fake glasses as well?"
Hizashi instantly brightens up, "Sure! What color do you want?"
I am about to answer black since I can just say I am Shouta's brother without too much suspicion when the trauma peeks back.
Fucking Mikumo.
So, I go with probably the better option, "Blond. Like, your blond." I already have the green eyes like him. I just need the blond hair, and I will look just like I am his brother. Which may or may not be a dream come true since he is my childhood idol, but we're going to ignore that thought process.
"We're finally going to match?!" Hizashi nearly screams, clearly excited about this. I think he is more excited than I am, and I feel blessed.
"Uh-huh! Can you do that?"
"That's no problem, tiny listener! But you got to promise to stay here, okay?"
"I feel like there is a lack of trust here."
"In this case, there is."
"Offended."
"Considering we dealt with Sho's freakout when you decided to go hang out at the pool, yeah."
"That's a him problem. However, if you are oh so concerned, I will be working on hacking the WHC."
"Gotcha!" Hizashi grabs his wallet, goes to the door, and hollers over his shoulder, "Don't get caught!"
"Wasn't on the to-do list!"
Hizashi gives me a big smile before leaving.
With that out of the way, I pull out my phone and get to hacking through the WHC. I know they said that they have nothing, but I would just like to double-check. Better safe than sorry!
And you know what I find?
I find that Shouta, Hizashi, and Nemuri are wanted.
UM, ISN'T THIS SOMETHING THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN MENTIONED TO ME?! YOU CALL OUT MY LACK OF COMMUNICATION, YET YOU DON'T TELL ME THAT YOU MOTHERFUCKERS ARE WANTED?!
Like, I know it isn't a huge concern. They all blend in pretty well as normal humans, but still! I'mma beat their asses as soon as they get back here because that's just rude!
Outside of that, I find nothing. Such a disappointment. I know that they have been sucking since they cancelled me, but damn.
With that out of the way, I have nothing else that I can really do except wait, so that's what I do.
