Chapter 67 - Preparation for Vacay
If you thought my depression was bad, it became crippling when Shouta forced me to return that Gucci bag.
Maybe I am being dramatic, but goddamn it took a lot of work! First, I had to steal Shouta's banking card so that I could get it somewhat legally. Then, I had to hack into his bank to figure out his pin for said bank card. Finally, I had to go all the way to the Gucci store to actually buy the product with his card! For those wondering why I didn't just steal the bag or from Shouta's bank account, we know the reason why I didn't do the first as I am just that petty to use his money. The second part is simply because if I hack from Shouta's account, I have no place to transfer my new found money too SINCE HE FRICKING SHUT DOWN MY ACCOUNT!
THEN TO ADD ON TOP OF MY GUCCI BAG ISSUE, NEZU GOES 'TOP OF THE MORNING TO YA, LADDY! HERE, TAKE YOUR CHILDREN CLASSMATES AND GO TO AN ISLAND! BY THE WAY, YOU'RE IN CHARGE OF A HERO AGENCY WITH THEM! GOOD LUCK! BY BY BY THE WAY WAY WAY, YOU'RE ALSO LEAVING IN THREE DAYS OR SOME SHIT!' LIKE, YEAH, I'M GETTING AWAY FROM THE ADULTS AND ALL, AND I WAS EXCITED!
BUT THEN I REALIZED THAT EVERYTIME I GO SOMEWHERE, I GET ATTACKED BY VILLAINS! THEREFORE, IT'S GOING TO BE HORRIBLE SOMEHOW!
I ASKED FOR NONE OF THIS! GOD LITERALLY WENT 'HEY, HAVE SOME TROUBLE' AND YEETS THIS ON ME!
I am ready to mcfucking cry. Why can't anything go right for me?
"Izuku, kid, come on. We don't have time for this," Shouta says through the door, sounding near done with life as I am. For the past ten minutes since we go back, I locked myself in my room because I am tired of the real world. I just want to sit here and eat chicken nuggets while watching musicals.
Logically, I respond with, "I'm never coming out again!"
"We both know that you can't stay in there for long."
"BITCH, I'LL FIGURE IT OUT! JUST GO!"
Instead of going, the door opens, "You do realize that Nezu specifically did not add locks to your room because of these reasons, right?"
"I call that a breach of privacy."
"You would have privacy if you weren't a problem child that starts wars between people, didn't have mental issues, and have two arms."
"Sir, you didn't have to rub it in my face. I'm also very offended by the last two statements because I had no control over that!"
Shouta sighs, sitting beside me on the bed, "I didn't mean it like that. It's for safety reasons because we do worry about you, kid."
"Are you worried for me or are you worried about that fact that I can take over the world?"
He groans, clearly tired of my shit, "You, brat. I trust you enough to not destroy the world at the very least. You would probably do a better job than the HC anyway."
My eyes sparkle at the praise, immediately snapping me out of my stupor, "Really?! I can go do it if you want-!"
"Wait until you're eighteen." Shouta stops me. I think he is regretting his decision of telling me that, but I don't care!
I hop up from the bed, "So I can drink wine with the other politicians! Good thinking!"
"Izuku, no-"
"Anyway, I'm ready to face the world again, so thanks for the encouragement! We have to tell my bitches, build some robots, pack, research the island, and whatever the fuck else is on the list."
Shouta stands up, "Let's tell the students first so they can start packing."
"I feel like they deserve to be told last minute."
"Do I want to know why?"
"Because I fucking can, that's why."
"Izuku, why don't you go work on your own stuff? I'll tell them."
"Sure! Makes my life easier, so thanks!"
I don't even let Sho get another word in when I zoom off to the support labs.
- - -
The amount of shit I had to do to get this thing rolling is ridiculous.
The first thing I had to do was research the island. You know, the geography, people, culture, crime rate, and the location of our agency. That did not take long, and I quickly realize that this is actually a pretty easy place to give first time students. It's small enough for 20 students to easily handle. The people are pretty chill, and the culture is not that different from ours besides them being overall nice since they don't have to worry about crime since that's nonexistent. The agency is in a decent place too!
Honestly, if you want an easy hero life, just go there! They don't even have heroes there, so you will get the job easy peasy lemon squeezy!
Of course, there is shit I would like to know, but I deny they are putting what kind of networking systems they are using on their website, so I'll have to figure that out when I get there.
Next, I had to finish up the cases that I had open by the time of the announcement. By that, I mean I shove them onto Nezu and told him to figure them out completely out of spite. That was easy.
The most significant thing I had to work on is my hero costume as I will be wearing that alot more. Specifically, my robotic arm that Recovery Girl banned me from wearing. The first thing I had to do was go talk to her so that I don't die when I get back to wearing it. After some discussion (berating me consistently), she says that I can wear the arm, but I can not wear it for more than a couple of hours a day. Even then, she suggested that I only do it when absolutely necessary.
I'm willing to take that. I have gotten better at working with only one arm and figured out the solution to my clapping issue, so no problem. That created a new issue of how the fuck am I going to get a robot arm in emergency situations.
Solution: Shove the arm to Mei, tell her to make it portable, and work on something else.
Honest to the ugly ass lord himself, if you have problems, just shove them onto other people. Just make sure to make up for it later. That's what friendship basically is, so don't worry about it!
With all this extra freetime, I checked the rest of my hero costume to make sure it is in shape. Surprisingly, despite my dumbass owning it, it has no issues. It's a sexy bitch ready to ride.
In addition, remember those drones that stalked the campsite when we went on that? Well, I'm recycling them. I did a quick programming upgrade (and by quick, I mean they took all day because I am a perfectionist) to work more efficiently and effectively. My bitches can be dedicated to more important spots then since I can watch a lot of the island through the monitors.
All that above that I explained? Well, that took two days.
Today is my classmates' and I's final day before being shipped off to this island.
I will say that I am kind of sad about it. I will have nobody to bully besides my classmates. Heck, I'm not even getting my bank account back!
The whole day is spent packing my own shit since I am a needy young boy.
By the time night comes around, I am ready for tomorrow. I was going to explode some shit tonight to try to relax.
Then Mom decided that I needed to socialize since I am leaving tomorrow.
- - -
"Why y'all making me do this? I just want to relax before I head out, and this is the opposite, " I ask the squad. I get that this is supposed to be a family meal, but I don't see the point of this.
Hizashi is the one to answer the question, "Because you two are family! You're going away for a month, and your mom won't get to see her baby boy!"
"Bitch, I ain't a baby."
"No, but in her head, you are!"
"I'm offended."
"Izuku, you are her child. She will always see you like that. Any Mom would."
"Oh. I hate it then!"
Nemuri wraps an arm around my shoulder, pulling me to her side, "Oh, chill out! Besides, once you get this done, you can go explode shit while we go celebrate not teaching your class for a month."
"HOLD UP, THERE'S A PARTY?!" Shouta glares at her, but she doesn't seem to care as she ruffles my hair.
"Of course! You can't blame us! You children are stressful to deal with!"
"...understandable, have a nice day. Wait, so all the teachers going?"
Hizashi intercepts, "Yeah, except Sho because he's being stubborn."
"He's always been a lameass, so don't feel bad about it."
Shouta turns his persistent glare to me, "Someone has to make sure you sleep." Welp, time to change the subject!
"You know that glare is going to give you wrinkles faster, right?" Hizashi purses his lips to keep from laughing while Nemuri just bursts out, not giving a fuck about Shouta's dignity.
"He ain't wrong, Sho!" She adds to my wonderful argument.
"Don't encourage that behavior. He's just trying to avoid the subject," Shouta reminds Nemuri, but, once again, I don't think she cares.
"He's just worrying about your future skin."
"I don't care. All of you behave because we're here."
Hizashi huffs, "It's like he doesn't trust us!"
Shouta doesn't respond to that and instead knocks. When the door opens, I see nothing until I look down to see Eri.
"Eri!" I shove my fellow members aside to be the first to lift her up by one arm to set her on my hip (impressive, right?), "How are you doing, girlfriend?! I didn't know you were here! I thought Lemillion was babysitting you tonight!"
Eri immediately wraps her arms around my neck, "I was, but he got busy, so Mom is babysitting me tonight!" Jesus, she is calling my mom Mom. She can go off, I guess.
"Got it, got it! May we come in, sweetheart?!"
"Uh-huh!"
I come in holding Eri, and Hizashi and Nemuri follow. However, when Shouta comes through, I stop him, "Sorry, we don't accept grumps, sir. Go to church or something."
He is not amused, "Izuku."
Then, Eri does something unexpected. She whacks me upside the head, "Bad, Izu! Let him in! All are allowed! Mom says so!"
Honestly, I support.
Shouta approaches Eri and I, "Eri, you do not hit people. It is not nice. Say sorry."
She tilts her head confused, "But I seen you do it to him." AHAHAHAHAH- WAIT, SHE IS LEARNING FROM SHOUTA?! OF ALL PEOPLE, HIM?! ILLEGAL!
He seems conflicted for once until he settles with, "It is not something I should do, either. It was a mistake. Now, say sorry to Izu." Wait, what the fuck? I am totally questioning him about this later.
Eri looks at me, "Sorry, Izu."
"Don't worry about it! I don't mind too much!" I say as I smile back, "Now, let's go find Mom!"
I go completely inside and head to the kitchen. I swear that every time I come here, that's where I find her. This is still accurate when I see her making plates.
"Hey, Mom! Do you need help?" I ask as I come in.
Mom turns to me, "Izu, dear, hi! Do you mind putting Eri in a chair and seating the guest? That would be appreciated!"
"No problem! Let's go, Eri!"
It's easy to set Eri up as well as the guests since I can just tell them to sit their asses down despite Mom's complaints.
I return to the kitchen to help bring out the plates of katsudon for everyone.
After some quick compliments to the food, we start eating. Though, that's obviously with conversation.
"You have everything you need, right, dear?" Mom questions me.
I huff, "Of course! I'm not one to forget things!"
"I know, but it is better safe than sorry. Besides, you're leaving for a month! You must be excited for the trip!"
"I'm excited about the no adults part. I'm just the adult to a bunch of teenagers that happen to be the same age as me."
"Your class is a pleasant class! I see no reason to complain, Izu."
"They're just sucking up to you, then."
"I don't see why they should."
"They believe that, if they are friends with you by the time I take over the world, they would be safe if you are willing to protect them."
"You have to give them credit, it's a good idea on paper, dear."
"No shit, sherlock."
"Language. We have a child here."
"Eri, don't say shit. It's a bad word." Both Mom and Shouta facepalm. Nemuri is amused at the whole situation while Hizashi records it on his phone.
Eri looks at me, "Okay! Why is it a bad word?"
"Because people are bitches. Bitches is a bad word too. And the reason for that is because people are pussies. You can say pussies. Or pussy for individual."
"What does pussy mean?" I probably should teach her that it's a word for a vagina, but she doesn't need to know that yet.
"It means a weak person or a brat. And before you ask, a brat is someone who acts entitled when they aren't. And finally, entitled means they deserve it or believe they deserve it."
Eri looks so confused.
Shouta runs a hand through his hair, "Izuku, for everyone's sake, please be quiet. She shouldn't know any of this."
"She's going to learn eventually. I'm just giving her a headstart!"
"That's not something she needs a headstart in."
"Y'all are so bossy."
"We're just protecting Eri from you."
"You should really be protecting her from Nemuri, but you do you." Nemuri gasps, but after a single moment of looking at each other, she understands and proceeds eating.
Overall, despite not wanting to be here besides for Eri, dinner is a pleasant experience.
Well, except for the end when Mom bursts into tears about me leaving, but after some comforting, the squad leaves in satisfaction. After we hug Eri, of course.
"It's time to party! Sho, you can still join us!" Nemuri announces as soon as we are far enough away from the house.
Shouta groans, "No. Someone has to make sure Izuku sleeps." Oof.
"Fine, lameass! Hizashi, what are you wearing tonight?"
I raise my hands, "Ah ah ah, I don't want to hear about it since I am not allowed there. What I do want to hear is what the heck happened at the beginning there, Sho!"
Nemuri laughs out loud, "Damn, calling him out! You're talking about the whole hitting thing, huh?"
"Yes! This man doesn't hesitate to hit me, and he goes like that to Eri? I don't know what he's protecting her from, but I want to hear it!"
Shouta facepalms, "I'm not protecting her from anything. I was just telling her the truth."
"Then you have lost it."
Hizashi interferes, "Izuku, let him explain. Otherwise, you're never going to learn the answer."
"Fine. Go on."
Shouta nods to his boyfriend before returning his attention to me, "She just had me thinking a bit. Maybe it's the not method to go. You're still a brat, so it is obviously not helping either of us."
"Damn, call me out like that."
"That's not the point. The point is that I will be trying to avoid hitting you."
"That's going to be weird. Do I get an apology, then?"
"You're pushing it, brat."
"Can you blame me?"
"Yes."
"The audacity."
"Izuku- it's illogical trying to make you understand. You'll see."
"Alright then."
Nemuri claps, "Sho is finally learning. Have an applause for this man."
Shouta just glares at her when Hizashi and I join her.
The rest of the trip doesn't have any issues. As soon as we get back to the dorms, Shouta drags me to my room to force me to sleep.
It's sad. Hizashi and Nemuri get to party while Shouta is trying to get me to sleep before the trip.
Why can't I explode shit?
Before I know it, it's the morning of travel.
- - -
"Please tell me that you didn't get the private plane illegally."
"I didn't!"
"Good-"
"Nezu did!"
"That rat is going to kill me."
"At least I didn't do it!"
"I don't think the UA principal is any better."
"He has enough money to pay off them, no worries."
Shouta grunts, but nothing else is said.
Currently, it's early morning, and we are waiting for the students to arrive in the dorm living room so we can get to the (stolen) plane on the court yard. Slowly but surely, the students come out with their bags, and their conversations fill the whole place. It doesn't take an emotionally intelligent person to see that they are excited from the way they are moving to their wide smiles and laughter.
Peering over at Shouta, I see a fraction of a smile. I have no idea what that means.
When all my classmates arrive, Shouta speaks up, "Go ahead and start heading to the courtyard. I have to talk to Izuku real quick."
They seem to understand as they drag all their luggage out, leaving Shouta and I.
For a moment, there's silence. Then, Shouta pulls me into the tight yet strangely comforting hug. I return the hug and rest my head on his chest as reality hits me.
I'm not going to have Shouta there.
I get that I was complaining about not being able to bully him and shit like that, but there's more to it. I'm leaving someone who normally knocks the sense into me whenever I make bad decisions. I am leaving the person that I have been traumatized to constantly be around despite my whole asshole act towards him.
I understand that it is only a month, but since the camp, we have constantly been around each other. We have been through thick and thin since then, and now I am leaving that behind with no other support. Like, I have my classmates, but they don't know my legitimate issues like Shouta does. I don't perform with them as easily either since we just don't have that strong of a connection.
To the Lord himself, this is the moment I realize how much I appreciate Shouta as my best friend and brother.
"Problem Child? Izuku? Kid, are you alright?" Shouta says suddenly, snapping me out of my thoughts.
I take a deep breath, "Yeah. I was just thinking."
"You must be thinking hard if you aren't insulting me."
I huff, "No...just realized I'm going to miss you is all."
Shouta squeezes me before pulling back from the hug and taking a step back.
He proceeds to bend down to my height (secretly offended, but I don't feel like going off right now), "You really are a brat if you're just realizing that."
"Sir, I don't know what you expect of me."
"I know, I know. I'm kidding, Izuku."
"Then you're a brat for doing that to me during these trying times."
"You would do the same."
"Go fuck yourself."
Shouta huffs, amused for once, but his expression returns to serious, "You can call me at anytime, kid. I don't care what I am doing, I will answer. And if you and your classmates are in danger, I'll be the first there."
"I know because fuck the HC."
Shouta gently punches me in the chest like in a comforting way, "Yes, but I am on your side no matter what. I would be surprised if you aren't stressed about watching over your classmates with no other adults. But you're not alone, Izuku. I may not be there physically, but I am there in any other way possible. Come on, deep breath with me." I follow his instructions, "There. You good now, kid?"
I nod, "Yeah. Thanks. I guess I just realized everything."
"Because you were distracted by putting everything together, "Shouta straightens up and wraps an arm around my shoulders, guiding me to the door, "I promise you got this. If anyone can manage it, it's you."
"Thanks, Sho. I care about you."
"Care about you too. You better return whole."
"Sir, I'm already missing an arm. I don't think I can."
"Whole as you are right now."
"Okay!"
Shouta keeps his arm around my shoulder until we get close to our classmates, where he removes it and we separate.
We reach our classmates, who have already put their shit in the plane and are buckled inside for the ride.
Shouta makes his speech, "You all should know that this is a serious case. You are in charge of an entire island. While you should not overstress yourselves, you should always remain vigilant. You need to work together even if it seems less than desirable. Stay out of trouble and good luck."
With that, I lead Shouta back out of the plane. Right when I was about to close the door, he turns around and comes back in front of me. His hands reach for his scarf. I watch him remove his scarf, curious of what he is going to do.
Shouta places the scarf on my neck, adjusting it as needed since the one arm bitch can't do shit apparently, "I expect you to return back with it, but I have an extra. Keep it on you, " He finishes the adjustments and ruffles my hair one last time, "Good luck."
I watch Shouta leave until he is out of my sight. I don't know what to say. It's going to be hot as hell to wear on a vacation island, but I'll keep it on for him.
I return to the cabin after closing the door and offer a huge smile to my classmates, "WHO'S READY FOR A VACATION!?"
"YEAH!"
"LET'S DO THIS!"
"YOU'RE WEARING AIZAWA-SENSEI'S SCARF! THAT IS SO ADORABLE!"
"SHUT THE FUCK UP, ASHIDO! EITHER WAY, BUCKLE UP EVERYONE BECAUSE WE ARE FLYING!"
Iida starts chopping from his seat, "You're the only one that needs to sit down, Izuku!"
"I'm getting there, chill!" I start going to the front of the plane.
"That's the wrong direction!"
"No it's not because I am flying it."
.
.
.
"WHAT?!" Everyone in the class screams.
"Y'ALL, CHILL! I WATCHED A YOUTUBE VIDEO ON THIS! I GOT THIS!"
"WE'RE GOING TO DIE!"
"THE LACK OF CONFIDENCE!"
