Chapter 100 - Hospital Raid

TW:  Short Described Mental Breakdown, Kind of Described Gorey Scene, Major Character Death

- - -

"I don't want to do this, but I don't want them to go after you or Mom or 1-A or fucking anyone! I JUST WANT EVERYONE TO BE SAFE!"

Izuku screams against Shouta's chest as he gasps greedily for air. Shouta holds onto him tightly, running his hand through his hair to try and calm the boy down before he works himself into another panic.

"You don't have to do this, Izuku."

Shouta reminds him softly. Izuku leans against him as a sob escapes him.

"I don't trust anyone else to do this! Please, Shouta...I know I'm a mess, but I will destroy myself if someone else does it and they fuck it up!"

"I know...come on, lay down. You've been working on this all night. I'll get Zashi to bring breakfast. Just come on, kid."

- - -

After two months putting together some things and pulling shit out of my ass for others, today is FINALLY here!

The day I have spent hours studying for. The day I built and nearly lost my other arm for. The day I fought Akaguro for hours on end for.

The day that we are going to fuck these motherfuckers up, down, and all around to the point they will want to go to jail rather than deal with us! Maybe we'll take their right arms too! Sure, that's a bit violent, but I feel like they deserve it for all they put us through! It's time to fuck up their lives!

I didn't go all out with just my planning. I went all out with even myself!

Usually, if I am going in public, I don't wear my underground costume since I tend to be recognizable. However, that kind of excuse now would just be considered bullshit. I'm not going to limit myself because of the public.

Instead, I have evolved! I have combined my underground and regular costume together! Well, to some extent. I kept my underground costume practically the same except with sharper katanas (we all know why) and the helmet. Since I am the leader, it was recommended that I don't wear the helmet. Therefore, I opted for a mask with all the same features except for preventing me from being shot in the back of the head! At least they will see my fluffy green hair though!

The regular costume comes in with T-Rex the robot practically being on top of the underground costume. Once again, it has access to all the same features it did before from copying CAT's features. Patchy will also be there and can attach to T-Rex, so extra points there. The robot is there for power while the underground portions are there for killing efficiency. They have two different purposes that allows me to fill whatever position I could possibly be needed for at that moment.

However, there is one support item that is completely new to the roster: a shotgun. Yes, I built a shotgun. I believe I have every right to shoot up these motherfuckers and kill them in the most painful way possible.

Okay, that's a slight dramatization. Slight. I did build a shotgun that I have officially called the Nomu Killer specifically for high-grade nomus. It shoots 6 bullets (also created by yours truly) that imbed themselves deep into the nomus muscles. Then, they connect together and produce enough electricity for power the city for a solid minute. They are pretty much a gun version of my batons, but the weapon doesn't destroy itself. While that is cool and all, the pumping and reloading on the gun is a bitch since each shot requires so much power. Oh, and don't even get me started on the bullets! Those are a bitch too! If it was someone normal, I straight up wouldn't recommend it to them. However, since I have a robot arm, I can pull it off. It's something I have to be very careful about since I am pretty limited on how many I can shoot.

The shotgun itself is all black and with a strap to allow me to hang it on my shoulder. That way, I can grab it or drop it whenever. It's slightly bigger than a normal shotgun due to the mechanics to create enough power to embed the bullets into nomu muscle, so it's a bit of a heavy weight. However, I decide that it's worth it.

To put it quite simply, I am as prepared as I can be. The only thing that can fuck it up is the other losers that I had to bring along with me.

Everyone is expected to start arriving around seven, so I come around at six with the intercoms that I need to pass out to varying heroes. I need to be the first there since I am the leader, after all. Tsukauchi and Gran Torino arrives pretty soon after, and I can't help but tap on my gun.

In less than two hours, we are practically initiating a war. And, I will be honest: as the commander, I am not feeling comfy about this. The anxiety is getting to me, and that is not a good thing. Though, I suspect that once it starts, it will go away. It's just the pre-jitters.

Around 6:30, that's when some of the heroes start arriving. I get to work approaching all of them and discussing everything with them to make sure that they understand what they are doing. Even though I said they could email me their questions, not everybody is going to follow that. I'm not letting human faults hold me back either. I don't go too in detail on the conversations as that would take too long. It's just a general idea to know that they know what they are doing.

The last group of heroes come by, and I go through them quickly. I find myself surprised that the last heroes that I have to talk to are Shouta and Hizashi, though I have a feeling that they did that on purpose so that they have some time to talk to me personally. I'm kind of sad that Nemuri isn't here too, but she benefited at the Gunga Mountain Villa raid better. Actually, she's an important person there with her quirk and capabilities, so she's really important there.

I approach both of them and offer them a com. There's too many heroes to give one to every hero. Otherwise, my brain would explode from the amount of people talking. Therefore, I had to choose which heroes I wanted to hear bullshit from. I trust both of them to not blast my ears out.

Hizashi takes his first with a stiff smile, "I was wondering when you would add a gun to your costume," Hizashi jokes. I know he is stressed as hell, especially considering he learned that one of his friends is a nomu. I'm pretty sure that's what pushed him to be here.

"It wasn't on purpose. I just needed something efficient, and guns are pretty damn efficient if you ask me," I explain simply.

Hizashi chuckles softly, "Yeah..." His smile drops as he looks at me worried, "Izuku, we're here for you. If you need to withdraw, you can do that. We can take over."

I give Hizashi a smile, practically ignoring what he said, "I got this. Besides, it's kind of funny to think all these heroes are following a quirkless bitch."

"Izuku!" Hizashi gasps, offended for me despite technically offending myself, "Don't call yourself that!"

I shrug, about to say something when I am suddenly cut off by an arm wrapping around my shoulders and black filling my vision. Another hand goes through my curls, massaging the back of my head.

"You don't have to distract us from the fact that you want to do this. However, if at one point, you need to withdraw, you deserve every right to withdraw. You put this together. You can let the adults handle this," Shouta mumbles as he keeps his grip on me.

I sigh, and I can't help but roll my eyes at him, "Sir, let me kick ass- ow!" The bitchass just tugged my hair!

"I'm serious, Izuku." Thankfully, Shouta rubs the spot he tugged but still! He's injuring me right before a fight!

"I know, but you know how I am. You watched me through all this."

"That's part of why I am worried."

"I get it, but let me fuck them up like they fucked me up."

"I'm not insisting on stopping you. I'm just saying that you can step back if needed."

I nod and step out of the hug, "I'm not going to promise anything, but you will know when I got too far. You know me better than anyone," I hear someone call my name, and I can't help an annoyed groan, "That's my que to leave y'all. Please, stay safe."

"Of course."

Hizashi firmly nods, "Will do, but you stay safe too!"

I smirk, "Oh, I don't need to worry about that. That's what the enemy needs to worry about," I start walking towards the sound of whoever called me when I stop and look over my shoulder at them, "Thank you for being there for me. I wouldn't have survived without y'all."

I don't even give them bastards a chance to respond as I run off to the direction of the voice. At this point, it's just a little bit more clearing up of what they need to do and setting them in their positions. Of course, there isn't much I can do about the positioning since we're raiding a goddamn hospital, but I can at least adjust the order that everyone enters the hospital.

I happen to be right at front with Miriko at my side. Behind me, Endeavor stands with a few heroes beside him including Snipe, Shouta, Hizashi, and other heroes that I don't really care for. Unless they are my friend or can one-shot a nomu, they are simply pieces of my puzzles.

Well, that's kind of an asshole thing to say, but it's also kind of the truth.

Oh, and I guess Tsukauchi and Gran Torino are there too to show that this whole process is legal.

Five more minutes, and I can't help but tap on my gun. Honestly, we could raid now, but we need everyone on the same page and doing something off that page isn't exactly doing that.

"Hey, kid, I have a question," Miriko asks suddenly. Oh boy.

"What up?" I ask.

"If someone happens, is everything on you or the HC?"

"They'll blame me, but they are taking the hit. I only suffer guilt and anxiety from this!"

"Uh-huh...so if we fuck up, it's on them technically?"

"Yeah, pretty much. I feel like that's kind of a given?"

"Nah, they're quirkist bitches. I was wondering if they found a round-bout way to drag you down, especially since they made you leader."

"You're not wrong. It's just in a way I can't explain here."

"That is suspicious as hell."

"Anything involving them is suspicious as hell."

"You're not wrong. Don't worry about that! We're going to beat their asses!" Miriko exclaims with a big grin.

I can't help but smirk back (not that she can really see it with how the mask is set up), "Didn't plan on letting them go in the first place."

"There you go! That's the kind of determination we need!"

Tsukauchi approaches and interrupts our conversation, "One minute."

I nod, turning on the intercoms, "Izuku here. We're about to enter the building in one minute. Remember the plan and stay safe."

I hear some confirmations as I turn towards the door. I grab my gun and pump it to allow me a free shot in. Anything to our advantage.

I connect to the hospital's intercoms.

And...

Eight o'clock hits.

I rush inside the building first and make my huge announcement to announce to the entire hospital, "Good morning, everyone! I apologize for the inconvenience, but this place is being evacuated! Please calmly make your way outside! Doctors and nurses, there are heroes that will help you with evacuating the patients with the plan in mind!"

I turn off the hospital intercom connection as I enter the hallways and start navigating them with Miriko, leaving behind the storming heroes behind me, "LET'S DO THIS, BITCHES!"

Miriko and I slip through the doctors and nurses until we finally make it to the morgue where the entrance to this underground base is. Miriko doesn't hesitate to kick down the doors, leading to a darkass hallway.

"Welcome to the horror film," I huff as I enter first, withdrawing one of my katanas with my left hand.

Endeavor's voice comes through, "We've found Doctor Daruma. The old man ain't quirkless; he has an aging quirk." I guess I shouldn't be surprised that the doctor is fake all the way through. Definitely going to cancel him on social media later.

"Ah, wonderful! Just what we need!" I exclaim with sarcasm as I start to run down the hall only for nomus to pop out, "The fight has begun!"

"Nomus have appeared all over the hospital!" Someone announces. Uh-huh, I hear. And see considering I have a small image of what Patchy sees in the right corner of my vision. However, it's not exactly detailed.

"Doctor Daruma was Twice's quirk! He turned to mud after a nomu attacked him." That's a big shit. If Twice is here, that's going to be harder than these nomu, especially if he starts duplicating himself. I didn't even consider him since I got constant updates about him from Hawks about him constantly being at the other base. Jesus fuck, I should have gone overboard.

Thankfully, these are pathetic little things compared to what I'm used to fighting. Well, they're not little, but they're not as strong as what I'm used to. They are a lower grade. I just run through them and slice them apart like butter since they don't have regeneration. Miriko seems to be taking a similar route but with kicking and less blood. Really, the only problem is that there is so many. That can be an issue if not checked.

"Update on evacuation?" I ask as I signal for Miriko to go ahead of me.

"We're about halfway done!" Mandalay replies. That's actually really good. For only have a few minutes, that's super well.

"Okay, so are they literally all over, or are they located in a specific area?"

Snipe answers, "Specific area. They're in the main entry way." Well, that's not so great.

"Shift evacuation to ER entry and exit." I hear multiple yes sirs, and I love the power that gives me.

"This is such a rush!" Miriko declares as she casually kicks the head off of one of them. Get into it, I guess.

"You should try training with Ectoplasm if you're into this. It gives a similar vibe," I tell her. I am just slicing and dicing over here, guaranteeing the kills while Miriko just fucks them up ahead of me.

"I'll call him up after this and ask! There's a door in the way! Time to bust this obstacle down!"

Miriko doesn't even hesitate to just kick the door out of her way like it was fucking lego. I slice the last nomu and follow right behind her to enter a huge lab with capsules covering every wall up to the ceilings. In the middle would be multiple large containers holding high-leveled nomu with regeneration. Those we have to be careful with because I have no idea how they 'activate' per say. If they activate, we're in for a bad time.

Right in the center of all this would be the real Doctor Daruma, frantically running around doing something.

"There you are! Are you the real one?!" Miriko fucking pounces the man like meat.

The Doctor cowers, "Yes I am, yes I am!"

"Better give ya a good kicking just to be sure!"

You know, I'm starting to understand why I wasn't given a quirk based on Miriko. Miriko kicks are rated E for everyone because she goes to slam a kick down on the guy. She's drawn my attention so much that I almost miss the tiny-ass nomu waddling over to her, presumably to stop her attack.

I shoot my right grapple to snatch the little guy, bring it towards me, and slice it in half while Miriko lands the kick to his head, forcing the old bastard to crash to the ground head first.

Miriko casually kicks his arm, "Well, he might have a concussion, but he's out now! We found the real doctor, everyone!"

I click my tongue, "Well, she ain't wrong. Miriko, I need to you go ahead and see if there is anything else further down. Everyone else, I highly recommend you stay out of the hidden base for now." Because this feels way too easy. I understand that my intelligence is the reason it's been made so easy, but you can't blame my concerns on this shit. Simply put, it usually doesn't go my way.

"Seems like a ridiculous request to do something on your own. Just wait for us to get there." Endeavor openly states his irrelevant opinion.

"Okay, for clarification, I'm going to explode the place to try and kill off all the nomu. If you would like to join the blast, literally nobody is going to stop you."

That gets him to shut up.

Now, onto my plan, I'm destroying the lab and nomu. In a general setting, I should keep these guys around so that we can research them. The reason I am not following that line of thought is because I consider it too risky. They could go wild at any moment, and they would be a bitch to deal with.

Besides, I need to destroy anything that could be used against us anyway: why not hit two birds with one stone? That is especially true with whatever else in this room. Nomu aren't the only problem we have in this world.

The issue with all this is that each of these guys have their own little system that I am not even going to consider how much each of them are. Therefore, I can't just destroy one of them and expect all of them to be destroy. I could destroy them one by one, but I don't know if destroying one will activate the rest of them to break out and attack me. I need a plan.

The plan, on paper, pretty simple: I make it one big system. If I make it one big system, one big system equals one big explosion.

The catch? It's not as easy as it sounds. Hell, it might be risky as hell for me to do, but it's a big whatever. I'll figure it out. I've put way too much into this. I ain't backing down now because I am a pussy.

After putting away my katana for now, I approach one of the machines under the nomu and take off one of the panels to see what I am working with. Honestly, all I see is a bunch of wires. Big wires, little wires, wires wires everywhere. On the bright side, I have labels. On the dark side, these wires are more tangled than a neutered dog's balls. I wish I could just cut them, but that's not a good idea.

I quickly look over the anatomy of the machine to see how everything is connected until I come up with an idea of how to make the big boom boom. I do have my sparky batons on me. If I can bring enough of the wiring out of each of them to get them all together, I can slice them and then use my baton to cause a huge surge that will hopefully end with an explosion. I just have to be quick about it.

"The hospital has been evacuated!" Mandalay informs me as I get my plan into action.

"Very good because I have no idea how big this explosion is going to be! How's the nomu situation up there?"

Endeavor grunts, "We're almost through with it."

"Good because it might be a good idea for y'all to retreat as well when I pull this off. Though, I need someone to come pick the piece of trash up."

"...the doctor?"

"Yeah."

"I'll come."

"Yo, Izuku, I found Shigaraki! He's in the same tank as the nomu and certainly not awake," Miriko suddenly yells over the line. Just what I thought even if I am not happy about it. Also, geez, these wires are heavy. It shouldn't take long to pull this off though. I just need a couple of minutes.

"Understood. Miriko, I need you to hide somewhere safe in there. Or, at the very least, be able to run if needed."

"Got it!"

"Izuku, how are you going to evacuate?" Shouta suddenly asks. Goddamn it, I don't need your logical lecture, dumbass.

"Minor details."

"Seriously."

"I might get caught in it, but minor details."

Miriko laughs over the intercom, "Izuku, define minor."

"Minor meaning I won't die."

Shouta sighs, "Dumbass."

"I know!"

It takes a few minutes, but all the wires are close together by the time Endeavor comes in, "Hey, buddy old pal! I need you to grab that body over there and head out!"

Endeavor does as asked, "Be careful with this."

"I'm being as careful as I can be." Far from it. Though, on my behalf, how am I supposed to be careful with this? I'm exploding things that weren't meant to be exploded.

At least Endeavor accepts that as he leaves with the doctor over his shoulder. While he walks him out, I finish my setup that will allow me to pull this off. I need to be able to cut and zap them at the same time to make an efficient explosion, so I'm having to group the wires together. This is all being built ten feet away from said explosion, which I am hoping will go beyond that.

Simply put, I am hoping I am in an explosion radius. That's not exactly healthy for me. However, considering my ever crippling mental health, I believe this is completely fine.

"Is everyone good?" I ask before I actually do this. I don't need to kill anyone else accidently besides me.

"Depends, are you safe?" Shouta has the balls to ask.

Thankfully, Endeavor speaks over him, "Yes, get it over with."

"Alright then!" I say.

I quickly look around to figure out my best retreat method, and that doesn't seem to exist here.

"Hey Rex, as soon as I say now, reverse me out of here, alright?" I ask the robot on me. The robot indicates a positive with a roar, and I forgot I made that that. I ain't mad about it though.

Let's implement it!

I withdraw a baton in my right hand, and a katana in my left. It should cut through this. If not...oops? I activate my baton to its second highest setting (or technically the highest legal setting).

Then, I slam the katana through the wires, it cutting them through ease like butter. Immediately after, the baton is shoved between all the wires, and I don't even get all the way through when the place starts exploding, nearly blasting my ears out in the process.

"NOW!" I holler at the top of my lungs.

I feel myself moving backwards fast and cross my arms over my face to at least keep that safe. I hardly acknowledge the brief heat that encompasses my body as I am withdrawn from the room to the hallway that Miriko and I were previous in. Rex stops, so it was my turn to run and duck into one of the side rooms to avoid the heat. Thank fuck it didn't break the walls. I quick scan of my arms show a bit of damage through the costume to my skin. Well, my real arm. My legs were in a similar situation, but it's not the worst thing in the world.

I didn't lose another arm or either of my legs, so I consider it a success. The only thing that might be suffering now is my hearing, but it's just ringing. That should go away.

I still hear distant explosions by the time I get in there, but it soon stops.

"Yo, what the hell kinda shit are you pulling, kid?! I didn't think it would be that big!" Miriko hollers over the line, which does not help my hearing one bit.

I click my tongue, "Did it reach you?"

"Uh, yeah?! It destroyed Shigaraki's tank!"

"Fucking shit," I curse aloud as I run out of my hidey hole and start running towards where Miriko should be, "Is he awake?!"

"The dude just collapsed on the floor. I don't feel a pulse from him or anything."

"Okay, cool cool cool. Now do me a favor. Gently take Shigaraki's head, and, as aggressively as possible, twist it 360 degrees," I explain as I run into the now destroyed lab. It's covered in black and smoking from some flames, but it's still structurally together. However, I don't look at it too much as I run into the hallway I see Miriko go down.

"Dude, you can't just ask someone to do that!" I hear a randomass hero say.

"I just did, so please shut the fuck up. I wouldn't be asking this of her if I didn't have a good reason."

Miriko's voice comes through again, "Does smashing his skull work? Cause that's what I did. I legit can't turn his neck for some reason. Buff as hell." I guess that's better than nothing.

"I hope to God so. I'll come finish the job. If there's anything there you believe should be destroyed, do that."

I hear some loud crashing noises as I come closer to Miriko's and Shigaraki's location. I assume that's from her.

"Do you need anyone else in there?" Endeavor questions.

"This should be quick. Check the perimeter in case it triggered anything," I say, and I hope to God that I am correct for once.

Finally, I reach the room where there is a thick liquid puddling all over the floor. In the center of the puddle would be Shigaraki, laying there without a shirt. Around him would be blood and pieces of skull and possibly brain from Miriko's effort.

I approach to see to do the deed only to notice that there is no injury to his head. The evidence is there meaning he fucking healed himself. He's still alive!

That's when I notice has hand moving towards the ground.

"He's alive and moving!" I scream as I rush towards Shigaraki. I don't think I can pull this off before his decay activates, but I have to try! If that activates, this entire place is fucked! I can hear Miriko moving as well.

Then, it feels like time fast forwards.

Before I get close, I feel a strong pain in my chest and hear a couple of cracks as I fly far from the scene, barely managing to land on my knees.

"GET OUT OF HERE, KID! YOU STILL GOT A GODDAMN JOB TO DO!"

Miriko screams at me with a smile on her face. However, looking down, she would be rapidly turning to dust.

No. No no no no

"NO!"

The place around me would be turning to dust with Miriko mixing in the air, and I am half-tempted to go in there because what the fuck am I supposed to do?! Miriko is far more capable than me, and she sacrificed herself for me! She fucking kicked me out instead of running herself! Dumbass!

Despite that, Rex must recognize that I am in danger as I start wheeling backwards away from the disaster. Faintly, I recognize the buzzing in my ear, and that brings me back. There's still others relying on me. I knew death was a high chance! I need to focus on this before anyone else dies! Nobody else can die because of my carelessness!

"RUN! REX, TOP SPEED"

I scream at the top of my lungs, hoping that they can hear me. Rex is the only one that I know does I everything around me comes a blur as I move.

I spin around quickly to force myself to face forward instead of rolling back to navigate the place. It feels like the world is tumbling behind me and I am barely outrunning it, but I am making it. I navigate back to the lab, through the halls, and back to the hospital where I speed through until I smash through the front doors to find that the heroes are evacuating in the distance. I go to follow them only to realize something.

This decay is going to keep going, and nobody knows for how long considering the man has been experimented on.

There has to be a way to stop this besides some stupid limit I don't know of now. With what he has now, it could probably destroy this whole city and more without a problem.

Come on, Izuku! Think think think!

Faintly, I recognize Shouta's voice desperately yelling ahead, "IZUKU, COME ON!"

But I ignore it because someone needs to stop this! But how?!

What do I have? I deny anything from my underground costume will work so that's a lot of it automatically out. For my aboveground, I have speed, recon, grapples, lasers-

LASERS! What if I destroy the decay to stop it from decaying?! It sounds fucking stupid, but I am willing to try anything to save everyone's hard work and effort. Besides, if I die, I die! I did my part! They know the emergencies plans! That's all I was needed for, so it's fine!

So, I turn to face the decay rapidly approaching me and stop. I aim my right arm, the only one capable of using the laser as it's a robot arm that can't burn, towards the ground and demand, "REX, LASER! HOLD CONSTANT!"

The laser immediately blasts through the ground. I make a sweeping motion in front of me to try and expand the area besides of saving just whatever is behind me, gritting my teeth as it hurts whatever is left of my right arm.

I recognize that I am still standing.

"Low battery," Rex informs me, but I keep going to save as much of this city as possible.

Then, the laser suddenly stops, and Rex falls off of me, indicating that it no longer has the energy to move. It's an emergency feature I added to keep it from locking up with me in it.

I nearly collapse on my knees from relief only to recognize Shigaraki standing in the distance on a platform in the middle of the gigantic hole he created.

Shigaraki turns toward me with a grin. Even with the distance, I hear him so clearly,

"I sense my little brother nearby, but he's nowhere near a threat that I have to eliminate like you, Izuku Midoriya."
