Aizawa x Reader: Under The Mistletoe

~(Y/N)~

The students in 1-A were lounging around, conversing and exchanging early gifts. They would be going back home for the next two weeks after today, so there were no new lessons. Aizawa let them do what they wanted while he slept on the floor in his yellow sleeping bag.

I, however, watched over them, joining in their conversation here and there. Some of the teachers would come in and talk about their plans with them. Which it made me wonder if Aizawa had any plans over the break. He's never mentioned his family, let alone anything having to do with his personal life at all.

Even I, who is his assistant didn't even know that much about him. Only the things I needed to know. Peeling my glance away from the yellow sleeping bag, I began talking to Midnight telling her about the plans I had with my family and friends.

After a while, the bell rang signaling for the students to go home. They had packed some of their belongings from their dorms already so, it was just about heading back and grabbing their bags. Stepping out of the room, I wave goodbye to them just before shutting the door to the classroom.

Spinning around, I was then greeted by the tall male who just woke up from his nap. "You're awake, the kids just left," I inform him.

"Finally," he mumbles tiredly. With a shy smile, I slip past him and walk up and down the aisle cleaning up after the kids. It wasn't much of a mess but there were a few things that needed to be tossed. "(Y/N) you know you don't have to do that," Aizawa sighs.

"I-I know, but it's not like I have to be anywhere right now," I explain.

Strolling up to me, he stops. Towering over me, his hands were shoved in his pockets. "Don't you have a family you should be seeing?" he asks.

"I do, but not for a while. What about you?" I question.

"No, I just go home and sleep," he retorts, slowly turning away from me, I watch him lean down to pick up a piece of trash.

"That's kinda sad Aizawa," I mumble.

"Is it? I suppose it beats sitting around a bunch of annoying people you hardly see."

"Yeah, but they are family, I'm sure they'd be pleased to know how you're doing," I talk back.

Aizawa's mouth closed as he finally was realizing that I was right. But then part of me started to think maybe...just maybe his parents already passed. And he didn't seem like he had any siblings at least not that I knew of, or anyone for that matter. Feeling sorry for the lonely man, an idea came to mind, and it was an excellent excuse to buy my long-time crush a gift without it being weird.

But I waited until I finished picking up around his class. Once I had finished, I grabbed my coat and headed for the door when I stopped and glanced back. "You know, you should come spend Christmas with me, it could be fun," I suggest.

Glancing up at me, his eyes bored back at mine tiredly. "No-"

"Wha! Come on! When was the last time you celebrated something with someone?" I ask rather loudly. As he stood there slightly hunched over, he never answered. "Please Aizawa, it'll be fun- you won't even have to bring a gift!" I suggest, trying to do anything I could to get him to come.

Letting out an annoyed sigh, he turns directly to me and straightens himself out. "Fine,"

With an excited squeak, I smile and him and turn to the door. "Okay, so my place Christmas Eve, I'd say around four in the afternoon, okay?" I ask.

He nods and waves his hand in a shooing motion. Giggling, I dash out of his room and off to the front of the school. After grabbing some of my things from my dorm in the teacher's section, I head off to the store first to buy Aizawa's gift. Afterward, I headed back to my apartment...it needed some cleaning.

~Time Skip~

That morning on Christmas Eve, I was busy finishing up on some cleaning. As the day went on, I made sure the decorations were just right. Then around lunchtime, I started to bake some snacks and dinner.

I hadn't paid much attention to the time so, when I heard a knock at my door, I finally look at my clock. It was about an hour before the party. A little confused, I set down the tray of freshly baked cookies and head to my front door. Opening it, I find Aizawa standing there freshly cleaned up in a turtle neck, his hair in a half pony. "Oh...wow uh hi," I greet awkwardly. He looked great, I mean- I had seen him in a suit before and normal clothing before..it's just...wow.

Stepping aside, I say "Come in," nodding, he takes one step in and looks around. Once he was completely in, I shut the door and head back into the kitchen to move the cookies onto a cooling rack.

"Uh, where can I set this?" he asks holding up a Christmas themed bag containing a gift.

"Oh, under the tree," I tell him pointing towards it.

With a spatula, I move the cookies slowly, seeing Aizawa from my peripheral vision, he was headed back over here. "Need any assistance...since I'm early?" he asks.

Looking up to meet his gaze, I nod silently. "The rest of the cookies are in the oven, why don't you get them out," I tell him. Nodding, he slowly steps around the counter and behind me. Feeling the warmth hit my backside, I glance back watching him close the oven door. Carefully turning towards me, he sets the tray beside me. For the next hour, before the guests began to show up, Aizawa helped me get the snacks and dinner set up.

When there was another knock at my door, both me and Aizawa headed to the door. One by one my family members started entering greeting me with hugs. Glancing back at the tall raven-haired man I watched as my dad shook his hand, and my mother hugged him.

Once everyone entered, I shut the door and head over to the kitchen with Aizawa. Handing him a plate of cookies, he turns and heads over to the group of people in my living room. They thanked him and I watched as my mother snuck away over to me. "Who's the handsome man?" she mutters.

"Shouta Aizawa, he's a co-worker of mine at UA, I thought it'd be nice if he joined us," I whisper back to her.

"And you two aren't seeing each other? Why not?" she asks.

Rolling my eyes, I smile at my mother, "Because he doesn't like me like that. We're just friends mama," I whisper. She lets out a 'ha' as she slowly steps forward.

"For now," she mumbles.

As the small party went on, my family asked questions about Aizawa, and me. Then told stories, here and there I'd catch a faint smile on his face as he listened to them. As they opened the gifts I got them, I decided to save their gifts to me for the morning.

It was nice to see him included in something if I hadn't talked him into coming, he probably would've been back at the dorm, sleeping away. He even joined in on our family photo after my parents told him it was alright.

While we ate, drank and talked some more, it was getting later and later. When it was finally time for them to head on home, Aizawa and I showed them to the door. "I'll call you tomorrow mama," I say as I hug her tightly. "Stay warm."

Stepping in the doorway beside Aizawa we both wave off my family only to have my mom and dad stop. "Oh looks like you two are under the mistletoe!" my mother says pointing above our heads. We both look up, then at each other, my face immediately grew warm as I turn away my gaze. I hadn't realized his eyes were still on me.

Not long after I had turned away, I felt a finger brush against my cheek moving my hair away from my face. Then before I knew it, a pair of soft lips peck my cheek, it even tickled a little from the stubble on his chin. Shocked by the fact he did it, my head darts his way finding him now grinning. My mother giggles, as she says goodbye. Waving, I re-enter my apartment with Aizawa following behind after shutting the door.

Returning to the living room, I grab my gift for him. He even grabs his from under the tree. Sitting across from each other, we hand off our gifts. Slowly opening his gift to me first, I was shocked when my eyes saw the design on it. It's the same sweater I got him! I laugh and hold it to my chest. "What?" he asks.

"I got you the same thing," I inform him. Our love of cats was something we both shared, I just didn't think he really knew.

As he opens his gift, he lets out a small huff while his lips curl up into a soft smile. "I guess we know each other well then," he mumbles. For a little while after that, we talked and ate some cookies. I explained to him that I couldn't wait to become a teacher, but despite being able to teach A-1 and the other classes science, it wouldn't compare to the joy I felt when I was working under him.

Aizawa said I'd do well, and it's not like we weren't going to see each other. Smiling I nod in agreement with his statement. Softly chuckle, I let out a sigh as I sit back. "Well I should head back, I've got patrol tomorrow morning," he says.

"Okay," I whisper.

Getting up, I set my present down on the coffee table as I walk him to the door. "And if you've got nothing planned on New Years, my door is always open," I tell him as we stop by the front door.

"Okay, I'll see," he says.

Finally opening the door, Aizawa steps slightly out then looks up again. Glancing back at me, I knew he was looking at the mistletoe since we never took it down. With my heart beating fast I watch him turn back to me. Taking my hand, he pulls me forward just slightly so we were both standing in the doorway.

Gazing up at him, his other hand rests on my face. Leaning down slightly, his warm breath hit my lips. Getting on my tip-toes I close the gap between us, capturing his lips in a soft kiss. Everything in that moment felt incredibly right, nothing could ruin the moment we were having as our lips slowly move in sync.

They seemed to fit so perfectly, tilting my head to the side I could feel as his thumb gently caresses my skin. His stubble gently tickling around my lips as he deepened the kiss by pulling me in closer until our bodies were pressed together. Aizawa's hand pressed against the small of my back, keeping me from pulling away.

My mind came to a blank forgetting about time, we'd probably been standing there for a good minute maybe. But just as I thought the kissing would continue, Aizawa's lips part from mine as he let's out a soft long sigh. It was like he was relieved, dazed I look up to meet his soft eyes and smile. His hand that rested on the small of my back gently slid to my hip. "Good night (Y/N)...and Merry Christmas,"
