Shouta Finds The Death Letter

Prompt: Izuku goes somewhere and doesn't return for a while, and Aizawa finds that letter that Izuku wrote when he tested out his wings back in chapter 31 of When all hell breaks loose and fears he killed himself and panics, then the broccoli brat comes back and is like "I don't know what happened, but I feel like I caused it."
Royally_boredRN on here, thank you for giving me an excuse to write angst.
For those unaware of the note, look at chapter 31 of the fic.
Warning: Suicide Mentioned

Shouta POV

Throughout the entire day, I have not seen the problem child once. That isn't normal. Usually, Izuku would be starting trouble, on a live stream somewhere for taking over a store, or working in his dorm or with Nezu on a case.

I have looked around for the past hour in every place at UA except the dorm, and I have found nothing. I even tried texting the brat. No response.

I just wanted a nap, kid. Why do you do this to me?

The last place to look is Izuku's dorm. I try to stay out for privacy reasons, but as I have no idea where he is, I pull out my key and open the door.

As always, papers are piled all over the place in an organized matter. However, no sign of Izuku.

"Izuku!" I yell at the top of my lungs for the brat, but still no response.

I go to his kitchen to look at his calendar to see if he had any plans today, but something else catches my eye.

A hand-written note stands out easily compared to the printed work around it. I walk over and read it.

Hi bitches!

If you are reading this, I'm dead! -

What? No, I can't-

I read it again. The words don't change.

Izuku, please tell me this is a sick joke.

I can hear my heart pounding in my ears as I lean on the desk.

Stop it, Shouta. Be logical. Izuku hasn't shown signs of wanting to commit suicide.

Right?

All those depression jokes Izuku has made.

How Izuku throws himself around with no regard for his health and whether he stays alive.

The overwhelming work he is constantly given.

How did I not see this?!

I focus on my breathing because I know going into a panic attack will not help me. I reach for my phone in hopes of tracking of Izuku when I hear the door click open.

I look up to see Izuku at the door with a suitcase looking done with life.

Instantly, I collapse in relief. I hear Izuku drop his case as he approaches me

"What the fuck, Sho? You haven't been fucking in here, have you?" Izuku asks, unaware of what I just read. Of course, the brat would start with that.

I take a deep breath. Without skipping a beat, I ask, "Izuku, do you want to die? And don't fucking joke about it." I can't help the spite at the end.

Izuku watches me carefully, trying to read the situation. He quickly gives up with a sigh, "No. I have shit to do. Why?"

"Explain the letter, then." I need to know. Izuku's face contorts to confusion.

"What letter?"

"On your desk."

Izuku stands up to look over the paperwork before having a chuckle," I wrote that when I was testing the stupid wings, dumbass."

I sigh, "Izuku...damn it, kid. Where have you been all day?"

"I've been working with detectives all day on cases. I told you about it yesterday, and it's on the calendar."

"I was going to check on that, but that caught my sight." I get up and look over the kid, " If you ever feel that way, you would talk to me, right?"

"Let me talk to God first."

"I'm serious." It's times like these that Izuku's personality is such a big downfall.

"Yeah. Don't worry about it, Sho. I'm content at the moment."

"Alright. Will you at least text back next time?"

"I'll try."

"You better. Now, for making me go through that, make me dinner."

"Oh, go fuck yourself, asshat."
