Actor AU

Prompt: What if MHA is just a show? If you haven't seen the actor AU, you should go check it out. It's fucking adorable and awesome. This is the person who originally made it.https://twitter.com/juniperjadeloveSo the idea is 'hey, what is everything is the same on the show, but once the cameras are off, Izuku becomes his true self which is my Izuku.'So yeee, let's do it!

The commercial break would finally end, allowing the show to take place. It would start with a clip from behind the scenes. It would be the Sports Festival scene at the end of the second round when Midoriya's team just makes it through. He would be flooding the stage with his tears.

"And cut! Good job, everyone!"

Midoriya immediately snaps out of his crying spree, "If I have to fucking cry one more, I am going to die of goddamn dehydration!"

"That's why we offer water."

"Sir, I drank all of that water and my piss stills says I am dehydrated!"

"I promise there is no more crying for today."

"You better!"

The clip would end, and the scene would change to the interview where Izuku would be standing in front of his camera, clicking his tongue.

Izuku: Damn, y'all really wanted the world to know how fucked in the head I am.

Interviewer, struggling to cover up laughter: I'm just doing as I'm told.

Izuku: And that's where the world's problems start. We listen to other people.

Interviewer: Okay, okay, settle down! Can you please sit so we can start this?

Izuku: I will destroy the camera if I have to sit.

Interviewer: I'm not even going to argue this. Would you like to tell everyone who you are?

Izuku: I am a hallucination.

Interviewer: No- Please, work with me here.

Izuku: Fine. Hello, I am Izuku Midoriya who stars as Izuku Midoriya in My Hero Academia!

Interviewer: There we go. You go by your given name, is that correct?

Izuku: Maybe for my friends, but not for you.

Interviewer: Good to know. So let's get the elephant in the room out of the way first. You're very different from the Midoriya we know on the show.

Izuku: Yip yip!

Interviewer: How did you get casted as Midoriya? Considering how you acted in that clip, you don't seem exactly happy in the role.

Izuku: Okay, so let me tell ya about the whole casting, alright? Because it was different than your usual show casting.

Interviewer: How so?

Izuku: Usually, when directors search for the actors or actresses for the roles, they have a pretty fine idea of who they are looking for. For example, if they want a young innocent boy with these attributes, they go for that. In this case, the show was built around the people themselves. Basically, they asked people to come, and they chose who they liked. If they liked your personality, you got on the show and stuck with that personality. That's why so many people tried for the show because you didn't have to act as somebody else. Also why so many people here are first-time actors and actresses.

Interviewer: So you're acting as yourself?

Izuku: Most people, yes. Some people were asked to emphasize certain parts of them that may not represent them. Himiko is the first person that comes to mind where she is asked to act more predatory. That came from her experience on a zombie show, I believe. Then, there are people like Twice and I who were told to act like this instead of ourselves. I promise if anyone seems insane, they are acting. Most of the villains are acting. Heroes? Not so much except Endeavor and I.

Interviewer: If it is meant to be based around the people, how do they change personalities then?

Izuku: Most are based off past rows those people had. That's why most of the villains were previously actors. Endeavor and some others are like that too.

Interviewer: That's really unique. So how were roles determined in that case?

Izuku: Oh, they shoved everyone together in a room and watched to see how we communicated like we were animals! They chose me as the main leader after seeing how well I got along with everyone despite who I am.

Interviewer: Got it. I think we got a bit off-track, so let's focus on you.

Izuku: As we fucking should.

Interviewer: What made you go audition for My Hero Academia?

Izuku: My family. I wasn't going to originally because I was starting preparations to start my own game show, but then they were all like 'you should audition for this, you can finally be yourself' and I did and now I fake who I am! Honestly, this show taught me not to be myself!

Interviewer: If I am correct, your mom in the show is actually your mom.

Izuku: Uh-huh!

Interviewer: Was she one of them?

Izuku: Actually, she followed after me since she has been trying to get on the same project as me for a while. I meant more of like my family squad. Midnight and Present Mic.

Interview: Oh, you knew them before the show?

Izuku: Of course! Aizawa is also part of that group. He's my brother from another family.

Interviewer: So you knew some of these actors before the show?

Izuku: I knew a lot of them actually! That's why I got along with them so long! How long is this interview again?

Interviewer: It's only been five minutes, and you have 25 more minutes with me.

Izuku: ...welp, you better follow me then. I ain't standing here for 25 minutes.

Izuku walks off camera, and the camera is quickly snatched the follow me.

Interviewer: This wasn't part of the script?

Izuku: There was a script?

Interviewer: Did you not receive it?

Izuku: Nope!

As they walk through the place, Izuku would say hi and such to all everyone that walks past.

Interviewer: We're really going on impulse.

Izuku: That's my entire life!

In the background, the director would notice Izuku clearly not doing anybody any good. He calls out for somebody.

Interviewer: Is this a daily occurance?

Izuku: Which part?

Interviewer: The director calling for Izuku Capture Squad.

Izuku: Oh yeah!

Shouta would, unfortunately, be the first at the scene. Sighing, he comes up to the two.

Shouta: Kid, what are you doing?

Izuku: Hi, Aizawa! And I don't know. This interviewer is just following me.

Interviewer: Because we are in a interview! Then you upped and left and expected me follow you.

Shouta facepalms.

Shouta: Sorry about him. He's a handful.

Izuku: I am not! Oh, fun fact: I was one of the helpers on his show! I question how he went from Mister Aizawa's Neighborhood to this.

Shouta, sighing: How can I help?

Interviewer: Well, maybe he can show us around instead?

Shouta: Probably best. Sitting him down won't get you anyway. I'll stay to make sure he doesn't cause trouble.

Izuku: The lack of trust!

Shouta: Can you blame me?

Izuku: . . .

Shouta: Exactly.

Izuku: ...hey, there's Present Mic! Hey, Mic!

Izuku runs ahead, Shouta and the interviewer following after.

For the rest of the time, Izuku introduces the interviewer to everyone while explaining everything.

Even if they will have to censor half the episode due to Izuku's interview, they got plenty of wonderful content. The interview ends up being one of the top interviews for the interviewer ever! Also the entire company!

Yes. I made Aizawa star as Mister Roger at one point. Come on, you can't tell me you don't see Aizawa as Mister Roger.Outside of that, I had more to include, but I decided to keep it short, so here are some facts I was going to include.Hawks and Izuku worked together on that Nick show Flash or whatever.Izuku's Mom and Nemuri would have known eachother through the show 'Sex in the City.'Izuku and Bakugo knew eachother through a TV show they were on as kids. It only lasted a season with them as they were fired due to their trouble. They also get along here.Hizashi used MHA as a platform to advertise his radio show. He also has interviewed Izuku multiple times.Hizashi, Shouta, and Nemuri knew eachother through a dating show that was at the beginning of their careers. It was terrible.
