The first incident occurred in Keikei City China. An extraordinary child was born radiating light, a literal bioluminescent baby! Soon after this incident, "exceptional" individuals began popping up all over the world! The cause was unclear, but these superhuman/supernatural abilities soon became known as Quirks.

At present, eighty percent of the world's population consists of persons with these superhuman Quirks. As more and more people were born with these Quirks, it wasn't long before the "exceptional" became the norm. Fantasy had suddenly become reality. Our streets began to look like comic books brought to life. As cities swirled with chaos and confusion, a new profession was brought to life and dominated our collective consciousness. It became the age of heroes!

With the rise of Quirks, came an explosion in crime rates. While nations struggled to overhaul their legal systems to adjust to our new society, brave individuals took up the mantle of heroes to help combat rising crime and keep the people safe. The ultimate goal was to protect innocent civilians from villains who abuse their Quirks for evil.

With overwhelming public support, heroes found an official place as peacekeepers recognized and overseen by the governments of their countries. Heroes who perform the best are granted the opportunity to earn real money, fame, and glory. This means their careers depend on their ability to stay in the spotlight, as well as, how much good they can do for their communities. Each country has their own way of recognizing distinguished heroes, usually with a chart system that calculates public favor and amount of resolved cases or incidents per hero or hero agency.

In a world where mankind is no longer created equal, heroes are the pillars of support that help balance the scales. Most people dream of being a hero, but only a handful will make that dream a reality.
