Her - 2
Dan's POV
"(Y/N)!" I shouted.
I don't know what had compelled me to do it. To go knock on her door. Had I hadn't had this feeling in my stomach that something was terribly wrong, I might've thought that I'd finally mustered up the courage to talk to her. But no, somehow, I knew she was about to do something horrible.
I took a step back, and rammed myself into her apartment door. It didn't budge. I backed up to the other side of the hallway, and ran with full force towards the door.
It finally gave way and I stumbled into her living room. I turned around, and there I saw her. Hanging from the ceiling. Lifeless and pale. I started sobbing, and quickly got her down. I carried her over to the couch and laid her down.
I quickly got out my phone and dialed 999.
"Hi, what is your emergency?" the lady asked.
"Hi, um, my- my friend, she," I choked back a sob and continued. "She hung herself."
"Okay, can you please check for a pulse?" the lady asked.
"Yeah," I said.
I put my fingers on her neck and waited.
"Sir?" the lady asked.
I breathed out a sigh of relief as I felt a slight pulse.
"Yeah, she has a slight pulse," I sobbed out.
"Good, what is your location?" she asked.
"Um, 258 Highland Road, flat 16H," I quietly said. (A/N: I totally made that up btw)
"Thank you, an ambulance is on it's way, sir," she said and hung up.
I stood up and glanced at her coffee table and saw a notebook. I picked it up and looked at it.
Oh god. It's her suicide note.
I started reading it and then flipped to the part addressed to me.
When the paramedics arrived I had finished reading it, and was just bawling. The paramedics had placed her on a gurney and carried her out and onto the ambulance.
I tried to climb in but one of the doctors said, "Sorry, family only."
"But I'm her boyfriend," I lied.
"Fine," the same doctor replied, obviously a little irritated at the fact that he had to let me on.
I climbed in and sat down. I took (Y/N) hand and squeezed it tight. I forgot about everything in the world. It was just me and (Y/N).
When we arrived at the hospital, they took (Y/N) somewhere, probably the ICU. All I could do was just sit and wait in the waiting room.
Did she really love me? I mean, she must if she said it in her note. She must. Right? I really hope she does. I've loved her since the day I first saw her. She's so beautiful and she doesn't even know it.
I was lost in my thoughts until I heard someone say, "Daniel Howell?"
I stood up quickly and said, "That's me."
"I am Dr. Keel, and I'm glad to be the bearer of good news. (Y/N) should make a full recovery, however, she is in a coma, as that was expected. When people hang themselves, they can suffer multiple fatal injuries such as a broken neck. Luckily, (Y/N) didn't suffer any fatal injuries," Dr. Keel said.
"Oh thank god. I was so worried. I'm so glad she's okay," I rushed out, letting out a breath of relief I didn't know I was holding in. "Can- can I see her?" I asked nervously.
"Yes, you may, but remember she's comatose," Dr. Keel replied.
"Okay, that's fine. Just as long as I can see her," I said.
Dr. Keel nodded and turned around, leading me to a room. He opened the door and we both walked in. I looked around at the plain white walls and then focused in on (Y/N). She was still really pale, and looked almost dead. But her chest was slowly rising and falling, so I knew that she was still alive.
Even in a coma she was still beautiful with her (H/L), (H/C) hair, and her perfect face. She was just so beautiful.
"So, are there any family members I should call?" Dr. Keel awkwardly asked.
"Um," I thought for a moment.
I don't really know her, but her parents I guess?
"Yeah, her parents. I don't have their numbers or know their names, though," I said embarrassed because I was her 'boyfriend' and didn't even know her parents' names.
"Okay," he said giving me a skeptical look and walked out.
I grabbed (Y/N)'s hand again and started thinking again.
Please wake up (Y/N). I need you. I can't live without you, you have no idea. You have no idea how much it hurts knowing you thought you weren't strong enough for this world. Weren't beautiful enough. Weren't perfect enough. Because you are. You are strong, and beautiful, and perfect.
I suddenly felt a tap on my shoulder, pulling me back into reality.
"Sir, visiting hours are over," a nurse kindly said to me.
"Oh. Well, when can I come back?" I ask sadly.
"You can come see her again at 8:00 A.M. tomorrow morning," she answers.
"Okay, thanks," I say.
I stand up, and grab my coat off of the back of the chair I was sitting in. I take one last look at (Y/N) and walk out of the hospital room.
A/N: Well. It was shorter, but I hope you still enjoyed it. The next chapter should be up tonight or tomorrow night, but no promises because I'm always loaded with homework *sighs* Anyways, hope you had a good day!
