CHAPTER 61
Viren POV
Waking up to the wild fragrance that reminds me of nature makes this morning the best morning ever, just how nature gives you peace and solace, laying next to Paakhi feels like that.
Yesterday was a tough day, or should I say rough, my emotions were all over the place, memories of Shreya surfaced making me lose my senses. I might have not told Paakhi that, but yesterday I needed her here with me.
Placing a soft kiss on her temple, I gently tuck my hand from under her head and move out of bed.
Before exiting the room, I grab my phone from the nightstand. Making a call to our housekeeper, I ask her not to come today.
Today, I will be preparing breakfast for my crazy girl.
Looking for the ingredients in the fridge I decided on the dishes I'm going to prepare.
Just as I grab the eggs from the upper shelf of the fridge, I hear a thump and then a thud.
Egg topple from my hand onto the floor, but my attention shifts to the pandering footsteps.
"Why did you not wake me up?" Paakhi shouts as she nears me.
"Good morning to you too..." I frown at her and then at the mess on the floor.
She looks at the floor and says, "why do something that you have no knowledge about?"
I glare at her and reply, "I very well know how to cook, but the noise you just made before entering made me drop the egg."
She chuckles at that and walking towards me she says, "aww sorry, but now I have to leave before girls send a search party for me."
"But I was going to prepare a breakfast in bed for you..." I hear myself whining.
She walks towards me with a gracious smile and gently touches my face, "The thought in itself makes me happy."
I return her a smile and walking towards the lounge, I say "Let me grab my car keys,"
Taking the keys and then grabbing her hand I tug us towards the elevator. These things with Paakhi come naturally to me. When I'm near her, my hands reach to hold hers, and when I see her soft sensuous lips I instinctively place a kiss on them.
"What are you wearing for the reception party?" I ask to make small talks.
When I see her curling her fist nervously, I feel odd.
"Umm...I have this beautiful dress I'm wearing tonight." She utter after a silent pause.
"What color is it?" I ask opening the car door for her. Rushing towards mine, I enter the car.
"It's blue." She says smiling at me.
"You are lying," I affirm starting the engine.
"Huh?" She asks confuse.
"You didn't buy yourself a dress, and now when I asked you about it, you mentally assessed your wardrobe," I tell her.
"I-"
"Worry not, I will take care of it," I say delighted by the thought of giving her something.
"Excuse me what?!" She exclaims.
"I promised you I will take you shopping, but I know you don't have time right now, so I will buy a dress for you," I announce happily.
"Viren Singh! You will do no such thing." She chides scowling at me.
"Why?" I ask disappointed.
"Because I don't want you to waste money on me. I have so many dresses I have just adorned once, I can wear anyone of them." She rationalizes.
"But-" I utter but her one glare shut me up.
"Now bye, see you in the evening." She says exiting the car.
I wave her goodbye and decide to go home and see what my married brother is up to.
Drive to home took nearly 15 minutes because of less traffic.
Parking my car, just as I exit it, I'm greeted with hustling and bustling of the workers moving in and out of the house.
Making my way around the dumped materials, I enter the house.
"Bhaiya, do it fast, the event is in the evening." I hear mom shouting.
Slowly, I walk behind her and wrap my arms around her.
"Oh my God Viren! You scared me," she exclaims turning around. I smile at her.
"My son," she mumbles caressing my face. I place a small kiss on her forehead and hug her.
"Are you hungry? You might be tired too, Go to your room and I will bring something for you." She starts reciting
things one after the other.
I chuckle at her and ascend the stairs towards Arhaan's room. Walking in without knocking I laugh when he shrieks like a girl.
"For god's sake, Knock and enter." He scowls at me and rashly pulls up his trousers.
"What were you doing?" I ask with a smirk plastered on my face.
When his face becomes red and he rolls his eyes, I can't control myself and topple over in laughter.
"You seriously need Maanya here with you!" I say between laughter.
"Shut up," he asserts, throwing a cushion at me.
After a few seconds, my laughter drops, and I stare at my brother.
"You are a married man now, how does it feel?" I ask seriously.
A smile mask his face and his eyes gloss when words leave his mouth, "Pure bliss, thinking about sharing my life with Maanya makes me happy, you may think I'm nuts, but I see her everywhere in this room, I imagine her making tea for me, I imagine her sleeping beside me, every day to day life routines, I imagine her with me.
After today, we can finally start our lives as a married couple." In the last line, I can see his desperation.
"I'm happy for you brother!" I say genuinely happy for my brother.
"I wish I could say the same for you..." I hear him mumble.
"What?!" I ask frowning.
He looks at me and then away,
"Arhaan? I don't know why? but I'm observing your behavior with Paakhi is becoming very rude." After many instances, I have observed this.
"When I use to see you both, it felt like you both liked each other." And I was happy my girlfriend and brother are cool with each other.
"I used to think that too, but she is a cunning and manipu-" before he could complete his words, mom enters his room with a tray in her hand.
I scowl at Arhaan and walk towards mom, "I thought I told you to go to your room," she gently chides.
I pass her a smile, and take the tray from her and keep it aside.
"Came to see Arhaan," I reply.
My mind is still processing Arhaan's words for Paakhi. He was about to say, Manipulating, I wonder how these both words can be used for Paakhi?
"Did something happen?" Mom asks looking between Arhaan and me.
I shake my head in denial and pick up the tray and disperse to my room.
On the way to my room, I bump into Shaurya.
"Bro?! You are back!" He cheers seeing me.
I smile and nod at him, but resume my stroll to my room.
"What happened?" He asks following me into my room.
I huff and take a seat on the sofa. He follows me and drop-down beside me.
"Did something happened with Paakhi?" He asks sadly.
I glance at him and then at the food sitting in front of me. Not feeling like eating it, I lay back.
"Arhaan is behaving strangely with Paakhi. He just called her cunning and manipulating." I confess.
"I have noticed his strange behavior too." He utters disappointed.
"Do you think so too that Paakhi is manipulating and cunning?" I ask afraid that again I'm falling for someone like that. But my heart is burning even relating Paakhi to those words.
"No! I can never think of Paakhi like that. She is beautiful inside-out. If what she did for Maanya and Aditi is cunning then for the first time, I would say, I like a cunning person." He announces.
I smile and nod, "You should maybe talk to Arhaan bhai about this." He suggests.
I think about it and nod again, "I will but not today, it's his day, and I don't want to spoil it."
He nods and picks up a sandwich from the plate. Taking a bite out of it he asks, "So what are your plans for today?"
"Nothing much," I reply nonchalantly.
"Me too, and I'm getting bored, Dad said no need to go to the office, so I have nothing to do." He huffs.
"Will you go shopping with me?!" I ask immediately.
"Shopping? Why not!" He agrees reluctantly.
"Okay, I'll change and meet you in 15 minutes," I say getting up and walking towards the washroom.
"Okay!" He replies.
I take a bath and change into a casual t-shirt and jeans. Walking out of the closet I see Shaurya lounging on my couch, he had finished the coffee and sandwiches mom prepared for me.
"I thought you'll be waiting for me downstairs," I comment buckling my belt.
"What's the use, when I have to wait for you, I decided to wait here." He answers standing up and straightening his jeans.
I smile and walk out of the room. He follows me and we descend the stairs.
Luckily mom was nowhere around so we hurried out of the house.
"All this pandering is making me go crazy," Shaurya announces entering the car. I nod seeing the chaos and start the engine.
"How was your trip?" He raises a question.
"It was fine, we are losing clients in America," I complain.
"Our market value is decreasing, I have formulated some plans let see what happens next," I tell him.
We talk more about the issues at work on our ride to the fashion house.
"I doubt we can get anything for you here." He comments seeing the fashion house.
I ignore him and exit the car.
"Are you planning on wearing something different?" He asks eyeing the clothes on the display.
I smile at my idiotic brother and continue walking.
"Hello sir, welcome to -"
"I need a beautiful dress for my girlfriend." I halt the saleswoman from her whole ranting.
"Girlfriend?" Shaurya sigh in relief.
"You idiot, you thought I'm buying a dress for myself?" I quip following the saleswoman.
"Of course, I have never seen you buying anything for a girl." He snides.
I smile at him but stop smiling when the girl turns to face me.
"Can you please tell me more about your preference, are we looking for western or traditional?" She asks politely.
I nod and reply," traditional, but not a saree..." I suggest looking around.
"Her size?" She questions again.
I think for a second and then take out my phone and show her a picture of my crazy girl.
She nods and after making us sit, she scurries off looking for stuff.
"If I would have known you are asking for women shopping, I would have better stayed home." He huffs taking out his phone.
"You can buy something for Aditi," I suggest standing up and looking myself for something for my girl.
"Will she like what I will buy for her?" He asks doubtfully.
"Bro if you give her something with love, she will surely appreciate it," I encourage him.
"You are right, thank you" he smiles at me and walks over to the display rack.
I resume my search and go through numerous dresses but don't like one. They were nice but not what I wanted.
"Sir, I'm sorry, these were all our best works." She apologetically says.
I nod and turn around to leave when I see a guy walking in with a zip bag, the dress that peeks from inside it makes me smile.
"Wait!" I ask the guy.
"Show me this dress," I demand.
The guy looks nervously at the girl beside me.
"Sir? That is not for sale, it is for our photoshoot." She tells.
"I will pay for it." I assert impatiently.
"It will be around Rs.375,000," she says.
I nod and say, "I will pay for it. "
She looks at me as if I'm nuts, but still nods and unzip the dress.
"It is a black brocade lehenga paired with a hand-embroidered blouse and dupatta." She explains.
Looking at it only one word comes to mind, PERFECT.
I nod and walk over to the cash counter.
"I want it to be delivered to an address by today," I ask the cashier.
He nods and gives me a paper to write the address on.
"Can I get another paper?" I ask him.
Taking the paper from him, I write a note to Paakhi.
"Every dime I earn is waste until it puts a smile on someone's face. Sending this dress not because you need it but because you deserve it. I promised to give you the world, this is just a fraction of it.
I hope you'll wear this tonight. If not, no problem, you look beautiful in anything you adorn.
Your love,
Viren...."
I fold the paper and give it to the cashier.
"Give it to that person with the dress," I tell him and leave after paying.
"What took you so long?" Shaurya asks from inside the car. After buying a dress for Aditi he said, he'll explore the shops nearby.
"Finding a perfect dress takes time," I reply, starting the engine.
"Are you up for lunch?" I ask him when my stomach growls.
He nods and we go to our favorite restaurant for lunch.
______________________________________________________
"Bro, mom is going to kill us," Shaurya yells looking at the time.
I press hard on the horn and curse when no car moves.
"We are late because of you." I blame him.
"I'm sorry, I thought it will be fun." He apologizes.
After lunch, he begged me to go to an arcade zone to have some bro time. Time there flew fast, and we lost track of time.
Now after 60 missed calls from Arhaan and 20 from mom, we are panicking because we are 10 minutes late for Arhaan's reception.
"Move assholes," he shouts outside the window.
Of all the times, today we had to get stuck in the traffic.
Hitting the wheel, I look impatiently outside the window.
"God please save us this time." Shaurya starts chanting beside me.
Within a few seconds, traffic starts moving and I zoom past cars.
Nearing the house, I take the car from the back entry and make a call to Dhruv.
Just as I Park the car, Dhruv comes running towards us. I pass my car keys to him and run inside the house from the backdoor.
Ascending the stairs, I hear, chatting voices from the living room.
Rushing into my room, I halt when I see Arhaan sitting there.
"Thought you became selfish like your girlfriend and not coming to my reception party." He mutters scowling at me.
"Stop speaking about her like that." I assert menacingly.
"Or what? Will, you hit me for that characterless girl?" He yells.
I rush forward and grab him from his collar.
"Think before you speak," I demand, feeling anger course through me.
"Maybe she should be the one thinking before going into other men's arms." He snorts.
"What the hell man!" I shout pushing him.
He stumbles but regains his composure.
"Look at these pictures." He says showing me his phone.
I snatch it from him and see the picture from yesterday night when Paakhi was hugging that guy. Some pictures are of me and her kissing, but due to darkness, it seems like the guy she is hugging and kissing is the same.
"Leave her, I don't want another Shreya in your life." He pleads. I can see the despair in his eyes. He is afraid I will lose it this time.
"That guy she is kissing is me." I acknowledge.
"I was there yesterday night," I tell him.
I expected him to feel sorry for his ill words for Paakhi but his face is void of any remorse.
"I warned you. Now it's up to you." He says before leaving my room.
I exhale and sit down. Arhaan's behavior is hurting me. I don't know what will he do to Paakhi when they will come face to face today.
With a heavy heart, I walk over to my closet and change into my suit.
Walking out, I hear a knock on my door.
Seconds later, mom walks in, looking gorgeous.
"Oh thank God, where were you? Maanya and her family will be here in 5 minutes. Let's go down." She yanks me towards the door.
Hurriedly I grab my phone and walk with her.
"You look beautiful, mom," I comment.
She smiles at me and I see a small blush.
I chuckle at that, she will never get used to hearing compliments.
"Go out and receive them, I will be waiting with others. Okay?" She asks, nudging me towards the door.
I nod and walk outside, everything looks beautiful. Our garden entrance is decorated with lights and curtains giving it a glamorous glimpse.

(Handsome Hunks)
(Our lovelies)
(Dashing Divas)
(Handsome Dudes)
"Why am I feeling nervous?" I hear Shuarya beside me.
I smile at him but control my excitement, I'm excited to see if she will wear the dress I gave her.
There was no text from her complaining or thanking me. So I'm a bit nervous.
"They are here." He yells from beside me.
I nod and straighten up my suit jacket.
Just as the vehicles stop in front of us, I step forward and open the car door with my heart beating fast.
My eyes go wide when I see their Nana exiting the car. Nervously, I shake his hand and then help her Nona and Aunty out.
"Wow," when I hear Shaurya exclaim from behind, I swirl around to catch a glimpse of my beautiful girlfriend. She is fixing her hair, but my eyes are fixed on the black lehenga I gifted her. She looks radiant tonight.
"Young man, stop staring at my girl." I feel a hard pat on my back. I look to see Nana smirking at me.
I shy away when I hear girls laughing at me.
Seconds later, sounds of shehnai and dhols resonate all around. The sound of wedding shehnais is thought to create and maintain the sense of auspiciousness and sanctity, making this a holy event.
My mother and other family members arrive at the spot to welcome Maanya and her family.
I step aside and walk inside the house when the crowd becomes overbearing for me.
Entering in, I greet my dad's business associates that are like family to us. Walking around and greeting people is tiring me. So I walk over to the bar and get myself a drink.
Looking around, I observe many people, some of our extended family members, some faces I have never seen once. All in all, mom just went overboard.
"Hi, brother!" I feel someone pat me on back.
Scowling at the calloused fingers, I discern the owner of them, grinning at me.
"How's it going? Didn't know you were back," he says.
I try remembering his face, but when it doesn't click, I ask directly, " who are you?' Irritation quaver out of my tone.
"You don't remember me?!" He asks chuckling.
Did I say something funny?!
"I'm Kunal, Komal Aunty's son." He utters instantly seeing my frown.
I still do not get it but just nod my head, and try escaping from there.
"So how's work?" He asks again.
"Good!" I utter looking around.
"Just good?" He chuckles.
What is it with this guy and chuckling?
"Mine is more than good," he laughs. Why does this guy start crackling after every sentence he utter?
Feeling, he is not going to shut up anytime, I text Dhruv to meet me at the bar.
"If you insist, I will tell you, I'm a civil engineer. We are currently working on Setu Bharatam Project, this program aims to make all National Highways free of railway level crossings. This is being done to prevent the frequent accidents and loss of lives at level crossings. " now his calloused hands make sense.
"That's great, accidents at the level crossings are increasing exponentially. And government taking a step like this is important." I reply, appreciating his job.
I always have respect for men who do good in their fields. His work is innovative, tiring, and laboring.
"Sir?!" I hear Dhruv's voice beside me.
Taking this opportunity, I excuse myself and walk with Dhruv to the sides.
"Is everything okay?" I ask generally.
When he takes a second too late to nod his head, I feel dubious.
"What is it?" I ask warily.
"Nothing sir, it's just there have been sitings of a random car rounding the block." He tells.
"Does it seem suspicious?" I ask immediately.
"Probably not sir, they can be those teenagers thinking this is some frat house party," he replies.
"Okay, just be aware," I order and walk away.
Instinctively my gaze looks in the direction of the entry door. When are they going to come inside?
Just as I'm about to shift my gaze, she enters the hall.
People halt for a second to see her and then get back to their chatting.
She hurriedly looks around for someone. Then her gaze land on me and she rushes towards me.
I wait for her to come near.
"Can you help me please?' She asks or rather implores.
My brief scrunch up instinctively and I nod in confusion.
" Aditi did not eat anything in the last 4 hours. Can you please ask someone to prepare a meal for her and bring it to Shaurya's room?" She asks. I nod my head and ask, "Is she okay?"
"No, she feels a bit light-headed." The concern in her voice and eyes is worrying me.
"You take care of her, I will bring something to his room," I tell her and walk towards the kitchen.
Seeing chefs and workers bustling in and out of it, I decided to go to the second kitchen in the house, which we use rarely.
Nearing the kitchen I see some of our households, eating there.
They instantly halt and stand nervously.
"I'm sorry, but can anyone of you prepare a healthy meal instantly?" I feel bad disturbing their meal and asking something.
All of their faces look astounded. They never expected me to apologize to them.
When no one move I say, "Please?"
As if it was the last straw for them because one of them stumbled over his chair.
"Of course sir, " he replies standing up.
I nod in gratitude and say, "Bring this to Shaurya's room." When he agrees. I walk away.
Walking over to the terrace, I enjoy the beautiful garden view. From tonight, My brother will start his married life. I'm happy for him, but there is this feeling of covetousness inside me, propelling me to have that happiness.
I'm relieved Paakhi accepted my past, I have always hesitated in sharing my past. And with the great ordeal, I mustered up the courage to tell Paakhi.
Taking a deep breath, I try to stop my mind from making any assumptions.
Looking at the far end of the garden, I see an outline of someone entering the premises.
Instantly I grab my phone and make a call to Dhruv, "The garden door was opened and someone just entered the premises." I scream on the phone.
"Find that person and bring it to me!" I order and hang up.
I wonder, how was that door unlocked? It jas been year's since someone opened that door, it was even jammed and most importantly, it is shrouded with bushes making it invisible to any outsider.
"Viren?" My attention shift to the lovely melodious voice of my beautiful girlfriend.
I turn around and gaze into her beautiful eyes. They shimmer with the reflection of lights.
I assess her face, and internally smile looking at the beauty I get to call my girlfriend. Her features look accentuated and seeing her wearing something I gifted her makes it more special.
"You look beautiful," I comment walking over to her.
A blush masks her face and she looks away. I smile recognizing my mother and girlfriend are alike.
Just as I take her in my arms, she tries to wriggle out of my grasp.
"Viren! I need to talk to you!" She chides huffing.
"Talk to me but before that let me hold you for a bit," I announce enjoying her wild fragrance.
"Viren, it's serious," the whimper in her voice makes me attentive.
I inch back and look at her.
"What happened?" I inquire.
"This dress..." She takes a deep breath.
Thinking she is angry with me for buying her a dress even when she warned me not to, I reply, "I know you said not to, but-"
"No! It's not about that!" She cuts me in between.
"There were two notes!" She utters.
Two?
"But I sent only one?!" I say warily.
"I know, there were entirely two different things written in both the notes. One was sweet and heart-touching but the second one-" she pauses.
"It said something like, 'This dress is for the girl I love, I want you to shine in tonight's event. Knowing you can't buy something like this, I'm sending you one. Don't thank me, just kiss me tonight.' It was signed off as Love Viren," she tells.
"But my note was entirely different," I try to explain.
"I know, the other note was beautiful and instantly knew it was from you. Girls thought you were pranking me with that rude note and then that sweet note was what you meant. But my heart kept telling me it was not from you." She murmurs. Her voice is trembling.
I wrap my arms around her and console her.
"I'm scared," she whimpers.
"Shh, nothing will happen to you, I'm here," I assure her. But internally, I'm puzzled by that second letter. Who might that be from? It was meant to create misunderstandings between Paakhi and me.
"Viren?" I hear her call my name.
"Huh?" I reply.
"Your phone is vibrating," she mumbles, when she said that, I felt vibrations in my pocket.
I unwrap one hand from around her and grab my phone.
"Yes?" I speak on the phone.
"Mom is looking for you, Paakhi is also not here, I don't want people talking, so come fast." Shaurya on the phone informs.
One change that I have seen in Shaurya is that he is becoming responsible, not only do his actions portray that but his thinking does that too.
"Let's go, it is a big event for our families. Just don't go anywhere deserted, always remain in the crowd and enjoy the evening. I will keep my eyes on you and maybe this is all a prank from someone, otherwise, that person would not have let two notes reach you." I try every possible way to assure her.
Seeing a relief and understanding in her eyes, I know my talks are affecting her.
"What if you lose me in the crowd?" She implores.
"I will always find you, my heart starts beating erratically even when you are in the same room." I quip.
She lightly swats me and says, "you and your cheesy talks."
I shrug and she smiles at me. Seeing her smiling sets on my face.
I grab her hand and tug her towards the hall. Just before we reach the halls, she takes her hand out of mine and stops walking.
I turn around and stare at her questioningly.
"We can't go in together!" She utters in a duh tone.
My one brow goes up.
"People will talk!" She lightly chides.
"So let them, you are my girlfriend, and let the world know that." I reason.
"Are you ashamed of me?" I ask hurt when she makes no move of coming with me.
"Uff, no, but today is Arhaan's and Maanya's day. Let's not take the attention from them?" She pleads.
With a huff, I nod and take two steps back.
"You go first," I announce. She smiles at me and giddily places a small kiss over my cheek and rushes inside. I stand there for 5 minutes smiling like a fool.
It is when I realized, that guard might be looking through the security camera, I moved.
Entering the bustling party hall, I instinctively search for Paakhi. Seeing my family standing at the stage, where Arhaan and Maanya are sitting like trophies.
"Viren!" Everyone stares at me when mom shrieks my name from the stage.
Geez, thanks mom.
Maintaining my commanding stature, I reach mom.
"Where were you?" She asks me.
"Work," a single word made mom scowl at me.
"Stay with Arhaan and ask if he needs anything?" She asks.
"Ask Shaurya to serve him," now it's my turn to scowl at her.
What will people say when they see me being a server?
"Look at Paakhi, she is looking after Maanya's every need. Such a nice girl." She asserts.
I look at her and see her assisting Maanya.
"I wonder how lucky that family will be that will have her as their daughter-in-law." She murmurs.
I peek at her,
"I was so happy when I thought she and Arhaan are dating. Not that Maanya is not good. She is lovely but Paakhi is special. I wish I have another son that could have married her." She whines. I stare at her, wanting to shout that she is mine. But one second, why doesn't she consider me for Paakhi?
"I can marry her!" Words leave my mouth before I can comprehend.
She starts laughing.
"You and Paakhi?" Mom chuckled again.
"What is the problem in that?" I ask with my bruised ego.
"She will never go for someone like you," mom pat me on my back and walk away.
For a few seconds a stare where she went. My own mother doesn't think I deserve Paakhi.
I smile knowing I will prove her wrong.
"What are you smiling at?" I hear my dad ask me.
I look at him and shrug, "listen couldn't tell you this before but-" he takes a pause.
"Don't fuck any girl from here, we don't know who might come out like your sister." He quips.
My family is doing a great job at wounding me.
"Dad?!" I chide,
"What?! Just helping you from performing a sin." He fools around.
"When did you become so funny?" I ask with a scowl.
Dad laughs so hard that for a second, his voice was a tone higher than the background music.
"Seems like the father-son duo is having a great chat?" We hear the voice of my sister behind us.
Turning around with a smile, I take her in my arms. When she leaves to hug dad, I smile at my brother-in-law.
Looking around for my princess, I scowl when I don't see her.
"She's with her grandparents. They are having a sleepover." Di answers my unasked question.
I nod sadly, she is the lifeline of our house.
Aimlessly my eyes wander around when I see Arhaan scowling at Paakhi who is talking to Maanya.
So I wall over to him, "Do you need anything?" I ask him.
He ignores me.
I roll my eyes at his behavior and congratulate Maanya when our eyes meet.
"Congratulations!" I say.
She nods and replies, "Thank you."
"Arhaan? Do you need anything? I'm getting Maanya water." Paakhi asks him.
"Yes please, for you to leave my sight." He rudely mutters.
I notice hurt on Paakhi's face.
"Arhaan?!" Maanya lightly chides.
"Man, behave yourself, I will not care for a second that this your function. I will pull you up and punch you!" I whisper yell.
"Viren..." The sob in Paakhi's voice made me look at her.
She slightly shakes her head otherwise I would have blown up.
"Everything okay here?" Shaurya and Aditi join us on the stage.
"People are looking here, plaster a smile, and then reply," Aditi asserts.
"Manage him, before I lose my temper," I whisper to Shaurya.
"And you don't talk to him, he doesn't deserve it," I yell at Paakhi and walk away.
I'm fuming, Arhaan is not this kind of person. His behavior with Paakhi is becoming hostile. After this function, I will sit them down and ask them to talk to her.
Trying to cool me down, I walk over to the opposite side of the mansion and the gardens.
Here no one will disturb me. This is a secluded area.
Taking deep breaths, I try to control my anger.
"Viren!"
I think I hear Paakhi's shriek.
Just as I'm about to turn, I feel a smash on the back of my head.
The sudden pain causes my vision to blur and I lost my balance.
"Viren!!" I feel Paakhi's voice nearing me.
With a shaky vision, I see her holding my face. I smile but it instantly fades away when I see a man behind her.
He pulls her by her arms and yanks her.
I can hear her crying and yelling my name but I can't move, I can't even decipher if I'm dreaming or.....
