Paakhi's POV

Today seems to be a very hectic day for us because today morning I got a call from Riya informing us that they have decided to push forward the day for their engagement party and it is to be held this Saturday.

After further discussion, we got to know the reason and it was because  Abhi has to fly to London coming Tuesday.

But my most important Concern is time. Today is Tuesday, so we only have 4-5 days in our hands and nothing is yet decided except the Venue.

Yesterday only Maanu went to Survey that venue and today we got this call!

 I was perspiring heavily thinking about all the possibilities. Yesterday only I was hopping around excitedly and now look at me.

"Paakhi relax, we got this !" Maanu said trying to calm me down. 

 "Yes! and when we are together we can do anything.! " Aditi with ersatz enthusiasm.

 
I smiled at that and hugged them both. When we are together everything is possible!  I repeated it like a mantra.

"You are right!  Let's do this. " I said Confidently.

Maanu and I decided to call Riya and ask her to accompany us to the Venue so that we can come up with some ideas.

Phone conversation......

(Paakhi in Bold italics and Riya in Bold)

"Hello, Hi Riya!"

"Hi, Paakhi!  What's up? ".......

"I called to request you to accompany us to the Venue so that we can come up with some ideas. Are you up for it? "

"Sure let's meet there in an hour"...

(end of conversation.......)

After the conversation on the phone, we decided to change and get there first.

 So that we can come up with some ideas and then discuss it with Riya.

We hailed a cab and Maanu gave the address to the driver.
"So what color scheme do you think we should go with? " I asked her.
"When you'll see that place you will know what I was telling you about... I mean it doesn't need much work most of the things are already done.. " she said referring to our conversation yesterday night.

After 30 minutes of our ride, the cab took a right turn and in view came a very beautiful building, placed at the sidewalk.
"Wow, it's actually a beautiful building. " I said while looking through the cab window.
"I know right! I acknowledged the same way when I saw it. "Maanu said while smiling at my reaction.
"Ma'am we are here. And it would be Rs. 250" cab driver said interrupting our conversation.
"Oh okay, Take this," I said giving him Rs. 500 note.
"I'm sorry ma'am but I don't have a change," he confessed.
"Oh god, I don't have change too. " I said looking at Maanu.
"It's okay, I'll just get the change from the reception. " Maanu said while exiting the cab and entering the building.

 I too exited the car to gaze at the building in front of me. The building gives a very friendly and contemporary vibe. 

I was still engaged in my thoughts when a car started honking crazy, I looked towards the source to see an utterly exemplary, sleek black car with dark tinted glass windows.

I got so irritated that I stomped towards it and knocked twice on the front driver's side window.
"What is your problem man? There is so much space on this side that two cars can pass through it. So why the hell are you honking like a mad man? " I spoke to a guy in his mid-twenties with brown shaggy hair falling on his aviators.

He didn't even flinch or looked in my direction. He was as stoic as a statue... And it was very infuriating.

"Hey! I'm talking to you... ? " he still didn't move. So I did the only thing I could think about to gain is attention and that is ...

'honkkkkk honkkkk..... honkkkkkk..... honkkkkkkk'

Ya, you guessed it right, I honked the horn.

"You idiot girl!  What the hell are you doing?" somebody grumbled behind me. I immediately turned around and came face to face with none other than Mr. Khadoos.
"You don't have to show how crazy you are, At our every  Encounter, " he said while smirking.

Oh really! Did he just call me crazy?!

"But what can I do?  Whenever I see you, I behave just like you!" I said with a scornful smile.

"No, you behave just the way you are. An idiot and dumbo. " he simpered.

"Oh Good, At least we have something in common," I said beaming coyly.

Ha!  Get it you loser!

"Why ? you looking something common between us? You wanna date me?" he said taking a step towards me.

Ughhhh!!!! I hate him!

"Oh please!  I no longer do things that make me vomit," I said while imitating a gagging reaction.

I saw his face and for the first time, I saw something glimmer in his eyes other than cold and calculative emotion. His eyes were warm but only for a second. Then it returned to its calculative and cold expression.

"OH... Uhh I.. " he was cut in between by Maanu who moved toward us and took me away from him.

"Paakhi what are you doing? You promised me that you'll stay away from him," she said to me while walking into the building.
"I know, But what can I do when he comes in front of me and start insulting me. " I said while running behind her and entering the building. "I can't just let him insult me," I said stubbornly while following her to the reception desk.

"We are here to survey the banquet hall," Maanu said to the receptionist.

"Yes Ma'am, We have already been informed about it. Please continue. " the receptionist said in her professional tone.

Maanu started walking towards the back of the lobby where I saw a small corridor leading to two big doors.

Maanu pushes through one and I followed behind.

"Wow, this place is beautiful. I would have never thought about this building to have something this beautiful. " I said while gazing around.
I mean this place is really beautiful with beautiful big chandeliers and golden -white false ceiling.

"I know right. It is really amazing and we don't have to do much work on this place. " Maanu said with a smile.
"Ya, I think you are right. If we'll add anything extravagant ..then it will look too much. " I replied to her.

"I think you girls are absolutely right. " a voice came from behind us.

We turned around to see Riya standing there with a big smile on her face. This girl is always happy.

"I don't know if I can be of any help because I don't know much about decorations or themes. For me It's either I like it or I don't," she said very seriously.

Oh Wow, She didn't even realize that she had just raised the bar.

"One thing I suggest we should do is to place a bouquet on each table and not on the walls around. "  I said imaging my idea. 

"Ya that would be nice and we'll place a dancing floor here and then a bar over there. " Maanu added. I know both of us are lost in our visualization.

"Oh, Riya before anything else, What are your thoughts on food Menu? " I asked turning towards her.

"Um... Yaa. I was thinking that this is more of a business merging and announcement party than a family function. So I think cuisine should be continental because mostly our business associates will be here. "

"Okay then! I'll call uncle Abby and then you can come to the cafe for food tasting. "

I move to the side and called uncle Abby to inform him about the food tasting and menu ideas.

"Okay, Abby said that you can come tomorrow to the cafe for tasting. " I  said returning to them.

She then excused herself and left saying that she has somewhere to be.

I started taking some pictures around me and Maanu started making a list of things.
We were still doing our work and making calls to our dealer when a husky voice came from behind us.
I turned around to see a handsome man in a suit standing there with a clerk behind him holding a tray of lemonade.
"Um, I thought you guys might need some refreshments... So I got this for you. " he said in his deep husky voice.
"Thank you so much. " I said while taking a glass from the tray.

"Hmm... By the way, I'm Aarhan. Riya's cousin. " he said while coming forward to shake my hand.
After shaking my hand he turned towards Maanu who is just standing there working on her Phone. And totally ignoring him.

"Hi Maanya, we meet again, and thank god, not in the way we are used to meeting," he said while looking at Maanu. While she blushed profusely.

wallah wallah, what have I missed here.?

I looked at her with my raised brows. (Because u would have known by now that I can't lift a brow at a time)

She looked at me and then immediately turned her attention towards Aarhan and said "Yaa...nice to meet you".

They both moved towards each other to shake their hands but didn't let go even after a few minutes. I stood there while sipping my drink and watched their eyes all the while counting the time they didn't blink

"It's 160 seconds !!"   I shouted in astonishment making them jump apart. I tried to hide my smile but couldn't.

"Huh?" both of them looked towards me in confusion.

"You guy didn't blink for 160 seconds. " I said while laughing. "You were pretty engrossed  in each other."

To my this comment, Maanu blushed and glared at me at the same time.....I know talent right? while on the other hand, Aarhan started scratching his neck.

Ahh... Huh... Maybe something is going on here.

"Ah, So I will leave you guys here " ... He said while turning around and leaving.

When he finally left. I turned to Maanu and before I could say anything she said "What? "

"Oh, nothing! What did I say? "  I asked all the while trying not to laugh.

"Stop! Don't!  Paakhi, it was nothing. We met yesterday when I came with Riya. " she said defensively.

"Oh okay. " I said while nodding my head and suppressing a smile.

"Let's go. Aditi is at home and it's your turn to cook today." she said to make me stop irritating her.

We packed up our notes and exited the building and Hailed a cab.

When we reached home. I was relieved to see Aditi cooking dinner for us. Because I was damn tired and hungry.

I immediately rushed towards her and hugged her from behind.

"Oh, Adi!  Thank you so much. I love you!  But please don't make PBJ  sandwiches "I pleaded while still hugging her.

"Haha .. ha... Okay okay, but don't get used to it. " she said while laughing.

"Promise. "  I said and rushed passed Maanu to my room but stopped in my track when I saw her laughing at me.

"Oh and Adiiii.... " I said gaining her and Maanu's attention. "Do you know today Maanu was blushing while talking to a guy.." I said while looking towards Maanu who was shaking her head at me. But me being me, I  completed my conversation and told Aditi everything about Aarhan and Maanya's handshake moment.

"Oh really! Does our little baby has a crush on someone?" Aditi said while laughing at Maanu.

"Paakhi... You just wait...... " she said running towards me. I too started sprinting away from her.
She was chasing me for a while when we both gave up and sat on the sofa while hugging each other. And after a second another pair of arm wiggled around us.

This is perfect! After all the hustle I  get to come home to these two... I love it.... They are my home.
