Part 14: Record Toons!
Back at McDuck Manor, Louie and Dewey were looking for some good dance records. They found a lot of old-fashioned Scottish songs and even 1940s music. Dewey saw a tinge of red on a super dusty record case, picked it up, blew off all the dust (only for it to make him sneeze), and what he saw surprised him greatly:
"Hey, Record Toons!"
"Whoa, no way!" Louie was amazed, "I thought we'd lost these forever!"
"Remember all the cartoons we used to listen to on it? Chichu the Panda? Stoney and Mumble? Diana the Dancing Dolphin? Adventure Ant?! Those were my favorites!"
"My favorite was Rocco the Raccoon! His cartoons taught me everything I know about smooth-talking and swindling!"
"Remember when the three of us would constantly get into fights over which character was the best?"
A flashback began and showed the triplets as four-year-olds about to listen to Record Toons. Little Huey picked up a Record Toons record case with a picture of an elephant with glasses on it and declared, "Guys, let's listen to Ellie Phant Toons!"
"Ellie Phant?! No way!" Little Dewey shouted, "I wanna listen to Adventure Ant Toons!"
"Dewey, that cartoon's way too violent," Little Huey protested.
"Well, at least it's actually exciting," Little Dewey argued, "Adventure Ant has superpowers and beats up bad guys, stops bullets in midair, and even defuses bombs! Sure beats an elephant who just helps others with their problems all the time."
"It's educational," Little Huey argued back, "Ellie Phant teaches us to be kind and helpful. Besides, she's a great role model. She's intelligent, kind-hearted, always willing to lend a helping trunk, and she's strong both physically and in will."
"Well, is she as strong as Adventure Ant?" Little Dewey asked, "Adventure Ant has lifted up an elephant several times! With only one arm!"
Pretty soon, the red and blue brothers were rolling all over the floor and getting pretty physical. As his brothers fought, Little Louie snuck over to the record player with his Rocco Raccoon Toons, but Little Dewey quickly noticed this and shouted, "What do you think you're doing?!"
"I wanna listen to Rocco Raccoon Toons!" Little Louie complained.
"No!" Little Huey shot the idea down, "That teaches you to do bad things and not be honest."
"You're such a wet blankie!" Little Louie shouted and stuck out his little tongue.
In very little time, all the triplets were practically trying to tear each other apart... Until Donald came downstairs and asked, "Boys, what's all this ruckus about?"
"I wanted to listen to Ellie Phant Toons, but Dewey called them boring!" Little Huey complained.
"I wanna listen to Adventure Ant Toons!" Little Dewey shouted.
"I wanna listen to Rocco Raccoon Toons!" Little Louie whined.
"Now, boys," Donald settled all of them down, "I think I've got the solution." He showed them a Record Toons record case with Ellie Phant, Adventure Ant, and Rocco Raccoon, which was the exact same case that present-day Dewey and Louie had just found! "Yeah, I remember," Louie answered, "Those were the good old days."
"You wanna play these and introduce the treasured wonders to Webby?" Dewey asked wistfully, to which Louie nonchalantly replied, "Sure. Why not?"
