Chapter 33

JASON’S POV

It had been a little over a week since Chris was in the apartment with us.  He was driving me nuts.  Anytime I was trying to get close to Leah, he had always the great timing to show up.

The only place we could actually be alone was in the bathroom while taking our shower or the bedroom.  Even then we couldn’t be loud if we wanted to, not just while having sex but conversation that we wanted to be between us.

Also, I could see Leah changing.  She looked so stress, her nightmares were getting worst and I tried to make her talk to me but, she kept saying things were fine.  I didn’t understand, we always shared everything before, no secrets, but she was shutting me out and I had no I clue why.

Usually people, when they are so stressed out they bitch about everything, well with her is was the complete opposite.  She barely spoke, Chris told me she was the same at school, and we both didn’t get it.  So, I thought of something, a plan I was hoping was going to work.  The only thing that didn’t change was our sex life.  Actually it did, we had sex a lot more, which was great.

‘Hey baby you’re home!  I didn’t hear you.’ Getting out of our room and saw Leah in the kitchen.

‘Yeah, I just got here.’ She said.

‘Where’s Chris?’ I asked her looking around to see if we were alone.

‘Umm, I think he’s at Laura.’ She answered.

‘Good, I need to talk to you, it’s important.’ I told her, ‘Can you come to the living room?’

‘Yeah, that fine.’ She said.  Her tone was so different from a week ago and I needed to know why.

I waited for her then we went into the living room and sat down on the couch.

She seemed like a million miles away, ‘Leah?’ I said and she looked at me.

‘What’s going on?’ I asked, ‘Noth…’ she started but I cut her out, ‘Don’t say nothing cause you know that’s a lie.  You always told me no lies, no secret so why are you doing that?’ I asked her.

She was looking around the room, seemed like trying to come up with something or for help.

‘I don’t want to talk about it.’ she said, not looking at me.

‘Do you want me to leave?’ I asked her.

She turned her face so fast and her eyes were huge.  She looked into my eyes to see if I was kidding, which I wasn’t.  She couldn’t keep shutting me out like that.  It wasn’t good for her, nor for us as a couple.

‘No.’ she answered.

I took a deep breath, at least that was good.

‘Do you want to leave?’ she asked me.

‘No, but you don’t talk to me about anything.  I needed to know you still wanted me around.  If you didn’t then yeah I would go, it would hurt but, I don’t want to be with someone who doesn’t want to be with me.’ I told her.

She was nodding her head, at least she understood.

‘Do you still love me?’ I asked her.

‘Yes.’ She said instantly, which made me smile.  Then looked at me and before she asked I answered her unspoken questions, ‘Yes, I’m still completely in love with you.’

She smiled her perfect smiles and she started to come closer to me.  I knew what she wanted but this time it was going to be different.  Usually it’s the girls that do this but, I didn’t want to do that but she left me no other choice.

‘No’ I said and got up off the couch.

She gave me a, What the Fuck, look.  ‘We won’t be having sex, unless you tell me the real problem you’re having.  If it takes a day, great, if it takes longer, I’ll wait.’

‘What?!’ she said, raising her voice.

‘You heard me.  I don’t know what to do.  I tried talking to you, Chris tried talking to you, and he says you barely talk at school.  You’re nightmares are getting worst.  What is going on?’ I told her.

She turned her face and started looking out the window.  I could see the tears go down her face.  I wanted to go and hold her, tell her I loved her and everything will be alright, but I didn’t move.

I sat on the floor because she looked lost, just looking out the window and I didn’t want to sit on the couch and distract her.  I was hoping she was thinking of how to word things, for her to say what I wanted to know.

After about 30 minutes on complete silence.  She finally spoke.
