The black haired girl limped along the wall as rain poured down around her. Her dull eyes glanced around, searching for anyone.
"Don't nobody want you don't nobody need you."
Not seeing anyone around, she sat down and took out a small sharp piece of metal. Rolling up her sleeves she exposed her scared wrist, each mark telling a story.
"You're nothing but a mistake."
She took the piece of metal and jabbed it into her wrist, hissing at the pain. Blood ran down her arm as she made three new lines, each drawing blood.
"Do you see what you've done?"
Standing up, she pulled her sleeve down as the blood left a small red stain. The rain dripped off her small frame as she pulled up her hood. Her bruised face became hidden by darkness as she began walking down the empty street. Not a single car passed by, not a person in the street. She was all alone out here.
"What did I do to deserve this?"
Her ears perked up at the sound of silent crying coming from an alleyway. She made sure her hood was up before going to explore what it was. She noticed a small child curled up in the corner crying. The had short brown hair and bright eyes. Going over, she keeled down in front of them and took off her hood.
"Hey little girl, what's wrong?"
The child looked up at her with tear filled eyes, scared.
"I was abandoned."
She felt a small tug at her heart as the child went back to crying. They had an old blue and purple striped dress on with no shoes, and a small hat on their head.
"You lost your family?"
The child noded, seeming to calm down a bit. She sat down next to the child, wrapping her fluffy tail around them.
"I know the feeling."
"Y-you do?"
"My real dad left me when I was baby and when I was older he hurt my daddy and my two best friends."
"That sounds awful."
"That's not it, he tried to hurt me to. Then I found my older brother, but he's not very nice."
"Is that why you have bruises on your face?"
She reached out and gently poked one, causing the girl to wince in pain. The child quickly pulled their hand back, feeling bad.
"I'm sorry."
"It's okay, I'm used to it."
"My name is Jane Jackson, but I like JJ for short."
"My name is Bunny Anna Circus."
"Like that animal?"
"Don't ask why I'm named that."
Both girls giggled as their clothes became soaked by the rain. They both smiled at each other as they continued to talk to each other. They had been talking for so long that the sun started to come up.
"Looks like it's morning time."
She glanced back down and noticed JJ had fallen asleep. Smiling, she gently picked up the child and stood up. Holding her in her arms, she walked out the dark alley and down the now lit up street.
"I'll take care of you JJ."
