Penelope Rose
I loathe Alyssa Vaughn more than I hate bees.
Mood = Angry 😠

Beck was reading a book when André said, "Hey, Beck." He sat down opposite of Beck.

"Hey, André," Beck replied.

"Congrats," André said, setting a water bottle down in front of Beck. "You get a free bottle of water." Beck looked at him, expecting an explanation. "Oh, I put a dollar in the machine and two came out."

"Ah," Beck took the water and looked at it, "Thanks, but uh, I don't drink water from mountain springs." He put the water back on the table in front of André.

"Why not?" asked André.

"Mountain streams are full of fish," Beck answered.

André opened his water bottle and asked, "So?" He started drinking his water.

"Fish pee," Beck explained. André gave him a look. "You're drinking fish pee."

André stopped drinking his water looking disgusted.

"Hey, guys," Tori called coming over to them. To Beck, she said, "Dude." She sat down, "Look what's on the Buzzfinger homepage." She showed Beck her phone.

"Oh," Beck said. "Poor Jay Leno."

Tori looked at her phone, "No under that." She scrolled down and showed him a picture of him and Alyssa Vaughn together.

"Oh," Beck said and chuckled.

"Oh?" repeated Tori. "That's you and Alyssa Vaughn together."

"No way," André said and reached for Tori's phone. Tori showed him the picture. "That's Beck and Alyssa Vaughn together."

Tori nodded.

Beck asked, "Why are you guys so impressed?"

"'Cause Alyssa Vaughn is famous," Tori said.

"And hot," André added, scrolling down on Tori's phone.

Tori continued, "Her father's a billionaire."

"And hot," André added without thinking.

Beck and Tori looked at André, who realized what he had just said.

"I didn't mean her father is – I drank fish pee," André defended himself.

Tori took her phone from him and showed Beck the picture of him and Alyssa again. "Explain this."

"She's in my yoga class," Beck said. "Some paparazzi showed up and took that pic, but we're just friends."

"Uh-huh." Tori asked, "And how did Jade and Penelope react when they found out you were 'friends' with Alyssa Vaughn?"

André did air quotes for emphasis.

"They were cool with it," Beck said, somewhat truthfully. Penelope was fine with it, sort of, but Jade on the other hand...

André and Tori gave him disbelieving looks.

"Penny's fine with it," Beck said. "Jade on the other hand threw a rock at me and stormed off taking Penny with her."

"Yeah," Tori replied. "Well I'd be careful 'cause I know Jade's not the type to be okay with—"

Flyers rained down on them.

"Attention! Attention everyone!" announced Trina. She giggled, while two guys were still throwing flyers. She shouted to a guy who was still passing out flyers, "Stop while I talk!"

The two guys stopped. "As you all know, I'm Trina Vega." She got no reaction. "Now, if you look at the flyers that just landed on you, you'll see that starting this Friday night, I will be performing my own one-woman show called 'Trina!' with an exclamation point."

"Hey!" a guy shouted, "Shut up!"

"It's a play that I wrote myself that will not only touch your heart, but blow your mind," Trina continued, like someone didn't tell her to shut up. She giggled and tried taking a flyer out of a box, "Now, if you look at these flyers, you'll see that—" the box fell on a guy's head, making him fall down.

Trina asked, "Could you pass those out?"

Penelope tried to ignore Jade and Beck's bickering as they walked down the stairs together to get to Beck's locker.

"Hey, we're not done talking about this," Jade told Beck.

"I am," Beck retorted.

"Well, I'm not," Jade replied.

"Listen," Beck started.

"I'm going to be late for my tap dancing class," Penelope said. She needed a club but since salsa dancing involved two people, Jade and Beck took that class. So, Penelope took tap dancing with Isadora.

She tried to leave but Jade grabbed the strap to Penelope's messenger bag, keeping her in place.

Jade said, "You stay."

"Listen, Alyssa Vaughn is just a friend," Beck stated.

"Yeah, a friend who's already sent you six text messages today," Jade stated.

As if to prove Jade wrong, Beck's phone went off.

"Seven," Jade said through gritted teeth.

Not even Jade texted Beck or Penelope that many times in just one morning unless she really needed him for something like to get her coffee. Penelope didn't even text Jade or Beck that many times either.

She trusted Beck a lot, she didn't trust Alyssa Vaughn. It was weird considering the heiress knew that Beck was a high school student, currently in school right now, and texting him.

Penelope was oddly reminded of being in seventh grade and Mrs. Vern was giving her and Isadora books and talking about taking them to the movies over the weekends. Then Mrs. Vern decided that she wanted to take Penelope and Isadora out of state to Nevada...

Penelope realized that the teacher probably wanted to lock her and Isadora in a disgusting pervert basement somewhere...or planned on do nefarious things to them.

"You don't know that's her," Beck told them.

Penelope arched an eyebrow at him, "I'm pretty sure it is."

Beck took his phone out and looked at it. Judging from the facial expression he made, Jade was right.

Beck deflected by asking, "What are both of yours favorite tropical fruits?"

"The mango and Penny's is dragon fruit," Jade replied. "We don't like your new little relationship with Alyssa Vaughn."

"It's a text message," Beck defended, putting his phone back in his pocket. He headed for his locker.

Jade followed after Beck asking, "And what does it say?" Jade used a falsetto voice, "Maybe 'Hi, Beck. My daddy just got richer and I got prettier. Let's make out.'"

Beck turned to them, "Okay, let me see if I understand you."

"Let's see if you do," Jade replied.

"Because you, Penny, and I date, Penny and I can't be friends with other girls," Beck said. He saw no problem with Penelope being friends with André. He even saw that she was somewhat friendly with Isadora's male band mates and had no problem with that.

"You two can be friends with ugly girls." Jade said, "But not girls who are gorgeous socialites who text you a hundred times a day."

That rule is probably why Penelope didn't have friends outside of André and Isadora and possibly Cat even though Penelope didn't talk to the red-head that much. She should change that.

"You know what?" Beck started, "You—" He spotted someone, "Tori, Tori." He beckoned her over, "Can you come here?"

Tori seemed reluctant and suspicious, "What?" She went over to them anyway.

Beck started, "If you were our girlfriend—"

"Great way to start the question," Jade interrupted.

Beck held up a hand to silence her, "Would you be all freaked that we're just friends with Alyssa Vaughn?"

Jade asked, "Who cares what she thinks?"

"Honestly?" Tori said, "I wouldn't love it."

"I care what she thinks," Jade said going over to put her arm around Tori's shoulders.

Beck seemed incredulous, "How can you say that? You don't even—"

"You know, I really don't wanna be in the middle of this," Tori stated. She tried to walk away.

Jade grabbed Tori's arm and dragged her back, "No, you stay right here with Penny."

"No," Tori replied.

Beck said, "You don't think a girlfriend should be able to just trust her boyfriend?"

Penelope said, "I trust you, I don't trust Alyssa Vaughn. She met you once and she's already clinging to you like a cheap suit. She's older than you. Why is text messaging you while she knows you're in school? She already text messaged you seven times."

Tori started, "I mean, I do think they should trust you but—"

"Get out of here, Tori," Jade demanded.

"I'd love to," Tori stated, walking away.

"Stay," Beck told her.

Tori groaned and went to stand with them again.

Jade started, "All right you know what?"

"Tell me what?" asked Beck.

"No, no," Tori begged, "Don't tell him what."

"We're done," Jade told him.

"Jade," Tori pleaded.

Beck asked, "So you're breaking up with me?"

Penelope almost face-palmed, because one of the rules they set up when they got together was 'if one breaks up with one, the third has to break up with other two, because it's not fair to make the third end up in the middle between two exes.' Jade must've forgotten about that clause.

"No, no, no, she's not," Tori stated.

Jade nodded, "Yeah, I am."

Penelope looked at Jade and Beck. She guessed she was done with both of them too.

"Oh, she is," Tori stated.

"You're being ridiculous," Beck told Jade.

Jade said, "What do you care? I'm not your girlfriend anymore." She stormed off.

Penelope looked at Beck, "I have to get to my tap dance class." She took off wondering if that really happened.

Penelope Rose
Why is it when I want to be alone,
people keep bothering me?
Mood = Annoyed 😒

Penelope sat alone at her own table, while Jade sat alone at her own table. It was frustrating being in this predicament. She knew it was kind of a stupid rule, but she really didn't want to be caught in the middle between two ex-lovers either.

Of course word got around that the trio had broken up. Rumor had it that Beck had cheated on both girls with Alyssa Vaughn and the two had planned on marrying on a yacht in Cancún.

So, here she was sitting alone at a table glaring at her twelve California rolls when Isadora and her band mates came up to her and joined her.

She glanced at Jade who scared off Sinjin and some other boy.

"Break ups are hard," Derek the drummer said. "When my ex dumped me, I was a wreck."

"You two were together for three days," Isadora pointed out.

"And he dumped you for a Northridge girl," Brady the bassist told him.

Penelope rolled her eyes at them.

There was a car honking and Penelope looked to see a yellow Lamborghini pulling into a parking spot. Of course it was Beck and Alyssa Vaughn in that stupid car.

Everyone else thought it was impressive.

"I've seen middle aged men drive something like that around because they've had a mid-life crisis," Penelope stated.

"Yeah," Isadora agreed.

They looked over to see that Alyssa and Beck were talking.

Penelope didn't get it. All Alyssa was rich and nothing else. What the hell was so special about Vaughn?

Penelope researched the socialite and found nothing. All Vaughn did was hang out with celebrities, which is what made her famous, nothing else. Sure, Vaughn was pretty, but that's about it.

"I don't get why someone her age is interested in a high school student," Derek said. "It's like, 'hey let's go out to eat', 'no, I have to finish my ABCs.'"

"He's sixteen, not six," Penelope said.

"She might as well date a six-year-old with that age gap," Derek stated.

That actually got a laugh out of Penelope and Derek smiled at her, glad that he had made the grumpy girl laugh.

She guessed that Derek wasn't bad looking. He had black shoulder-length hair with dyed blond streaks. He did have some pretty dark blue eyes.

She didn't notice that Beck was staring right at her.

Penelope walked into Hollywood Arts with Derek by her side and went to his locker, which was near the vending machines. She was wearing a plain outfit because she didn't feel assed to go all out.

"No, I'm just saying, Penny, that he really wasn't dead, just covered in frosting," Derek told her.

Penelope nodded, "Wow."

"I know," Derek replied.

Jade suddenly grabbed the strap to Penelope's messenger bag and dragged her (along with Tori) into a janitor's closet.

Jade closed and locked the door, before turning on the light.

"And now we're in a closet," Tori said.

Jade heaved and said, "How can Beck not want us back? We're so cool and hot, we've got it all." She put her elbows on the tool chest.

"Yeah, but guys just don't care about how cool and hot you are," Tori argued.

Jade yelled, "What else is there?"

"Beck said you haven't done once nice thing for him in two years," Tori replied.

"That is so not true," Jade said. "We only dated a year and eleven months."

"Well, maybe he'd take you back if you did something nice for him," Tori suggested.

Jade asked, "You mean, like make him fresh lemonade?"

Tori rolled her eyes, "If you want Beck back, you're gonna have to have think bigger than beverages."

"A dog!" shouted Jade, pointing at Tori.

Tori started, "Okay, if you're gonna be rude—"

"No, no," Jade said.

"Beck always said he wants a dog," Penelope explained.

"A Rottenheimer," Jade told her.

"They're called Rottweilers," Penelope told Jade.

"Yes! That's what he wants," Jade replied. "Okay, what's our next move?"

"Just get the boy a dog," the janitor said from the corner of the closet. He had a leopard print blanket covering him.

Jade grabbed Penelope and dragged her away from the janitor, so they can leave.

Later that night, they snuck over to Beck's trailer with the Rottweiler.

The dog barked and they shushed the dog and Jade opened the trailer door.

"Okay, wait one sec," Jade whispered and took a step inside. After a moment, Jade stepped back outside. "Beck's asleep. Give me the dog."

"Okay," Tori said, trying to undo the leash. "Oh, wait, he has a runny nose." She took a tissue out of her bag. In a childish voice, she told the dog, "Blow."

"Dogs don't know how to blow their nose," Jade argued.

The dog snorted into the tissue and Tori looked at Jade smugly.

"Okay, give me the dog," Jade said and grabbed the leash. She directed the dog into the trailer, "Okay, boy, go in there. Go lick Beck's face."

"Good boy," Tori said.

They closed the door after the dog got in the trailer.

"Okay, if this makes Beck like me again, I'm gonna owe you big time," Jade told Tori.

"You already owe me big time," Tori said. To Penelope, she said, "You know, I don't know why you dumped them."

"It was a rule we created," Penelope said. "If one couple breaks up, the third has to break up with the other two so the third doesn't get caught in the middle."

"Ah," replied Tori. She guessed it made sense.

There was growling and screaming coming from inside the trailer. It started shaking.

"What's going on?" asked Tori.

"I – I don't know," Jade stuttered, concerned.

"Whose dog is this?" yelled Beck.

Jade screamed, "Beck! Beck!"

They ran to the RV to help.

Jade hit the window and yelled, "Are you okay?"

Tori yelled, "Does he sound okay?"

Penelope chose to open the door to the RV to run in and try to help.

However, the dog snarled and barked at her. She slammed the door shut. "That thing's gone feral! It's really awful!"

"Now Beck will never take us back," Jade said.

Tori yelled at her, "That is not the key issue right now!"

Penelope asked, "What are we going to do to get him out of there?"

"What is going on?" asked Beck. He had walked out of his house after hearing yelling and screaming.

Tori turned to him and screamed. "How can you be out here?"

"You're supposed to be in there getting mauled by a dog," Penelope told him.

Beck exclaimed, "Dog? My dad's in there!"

"Oh, shit," Penelope murmured.

Jade asked, "Your dad?"

"Oh my god!" shouted Tori.

Beck said, "Dad? Dad!" He opened the door and the dog barked at him. He screamed and closed the door, "That is a big dog!" He looked terrified.

The neighbor had called the cops because of the yelling and screaming, so animal control had managed to get the dog under control and took it away, while they got Beck's dad out of the RV. The good thing was that Beck's dad didn't look like he had been mauled. He probably needed lots and lots of stitches and medical staples. At least his face hadn't been ripped off.

"I'll meet you at the hospital," Beck told his dad.

"Okay," Mr. Oliver replied and waved to him

"We're so very sorry," Penelope said to Mr. Oliver.

"We're sorry," Tori added.

Mr. Oliver cried, "Oh, why!"

"He'll be fine," the female EMT said. She closed the doors to the ambulance.

"Thanks," Beck said.

The female EMT asked Beck, "Hey, are you in college yet?"

"Bye," Penelope and Jade said in unison. Jade had grabbed Beck's arm. The EMT hurried to the ambulance, leaving.

Mr. Oliver waved at Beck again before the ambulance took off.

Beck walked away from them rather angrily.

Jade followed and said, "Tori told me and Penny to get you a dog."

"Dude," Tori replied, annoyed.

"Okay, okay, it was kind of mine and Penny's idea, but w-we didn't think the dog would bug out like that," Jade said. "I-I just wanted you to have a dog because I know that you've talked about getting one every since I met you and I thought that maybe—"

Beck cut her off with a kiss and Penelope smiled a little and noticed that even Tori smiled.

Beck pulled away from Jade.

Jade said, "You love me again."

"Who said I stopped?" asked Beck.

"Aww," Tori said. Penelope looked at Tori, even Jade glared, and Beck just looked at Tori weirdly. "I ruined the moment."

"A little," Penelope said.

"It's cool," Jade told her, surprising the three others. "And I really do owe you."

Jade and Tori smiled at each other, but then Jade turned back to Beck to resume kissing him.

It was getting heated really fast.

Penelope looked at Tori a little awkwardly. "I'll walk you home."

She may not like Tori, but Penelope didn't want Tori walking home in case she gets roped in on an underground child pick-pocketing ring.

"Thanks," Tori said. They started heading off, but Jade grabbed Penelope's arm and Beck pulled her into a kiss.

"It's not that far of a walk," Jade told Tori.

Beck pulled away from Penelope so he can along her neck while Jade kissed Penelope.

Tori started to walk home, but stopped to spitefully say over her shoulder, "Try not to swallow each other."

That went unheard as the three focused only on each other.

Needless to say, it was an interesting night.
