Chapter 8: Not my girlfriend
"Why me?"
"They never listen to me," Charlotte answered, "never."
"It has to be you!"
The three of us were in the living room, with me holding onto the back of the purple couch, Jasper holding me by one foot, and Charlotte by the other, pulling me toward the door.
"I don't want to," I insisted. "Henry may give in, but Ray is stubborn."
"Kai, it doesn't cost you anything," Charlotte said as she pulled my leg harder. "Hey, you do have strength in your arms."
"This is not the time for flattery," Jasper spoke. "Come on, Kai, we all want cake."
They were right, it didn't really cost me anything, in fact I could go out and yell at Ray to let him stay or something like that... I don't understand why so much drama, it's true, I'm exaggerating too much.
I let go of the couch causing us all to fall to the floor. I carefully stood up together with my two friends and looked at them both with a blank look.
"Okay" I agreed.
"A lot of drama, don't you think?" Charlotte asked.
I nodded with an innocent smile on my face.
"And if that helps you, Henry always does what you tell him... sometimes Ray too," Jasper spoke, "another reason why..."
"No!" I shouted, raising a hand. "Don't even say it." I rolled my eyes and let out a sigh. "But you owe me one, Jasper, you continue to serve me."
The boy rolled his eyes and crossed his arms.
"It won't take long, I hope."
After that, Charlotte went to the living room where she sat peacefully with nothing to torment her and Jasper returned to continue keeping that delicious 10 leches cake cold.
I grabbed the doorknob and opened it to find the porch, there were Henry and Ray, arguing about something about the blood bank and... Jeff?
"Just listen to me, okay?" Ray said as he put his hands over his mouth. "If I go and take care of Jeff, when I get back there won't be any of that cake, now if you go, everyone will wait for you and we'll all eat."
I opened my eyes in surprise and walked to where the boys were.
"I like the plan," I got into the conversation, "wow, I never thought I would agree with you."
I high-fived Ray and put my hands on my hips.
"He's right, Henry," I spoke again, "if you go, we'll all eat 10 leches ice Cream cake."
"But, Kai, it's my birthday and..." Henry paused and looked at me strangely, "wait, what are you doing out here?"
"They want cake," I replied unimportantly.
"OK?".
I approached Henry putting one of my hands on his shoulder, making him look me in the eyes... not to brag but I always convinced everyone like that, okay enough.
"Go, deal with Jeff and when you get back everyone eats cake," I said smiling.
Henry frowned, looked me in the eyes and then looked at Ray, who was staring into a plant.
"Fine," he accepted, "but it's my cake."
"It's your cake," I said, raising my hands.
"Oh Henry," Ray spoke, "sometimes it's better to listen to girlfriends," he grimaced.
"What? She's not my girlfriend, Ray," Henry replied, salivating.
I placed one of my hands on my forehead again and began to rub it, a little annoyed by him and the comments they have said lately.
"What he said."
And there have been quite a few, but who cares, they might say that to Charlotte too.
