Chapter 49: Hard to Get

"What's up Man Cave?"

If there was one person I wanted to kill now, it was Rick Twitler, it didn't matter if he had invented the wonderful Twittflash that took me out of my most boring moments... I didn't like him at all anymore.

As soon as we heard this guy's voice, Charlotte, Schwoz and I hid as best we could, wherever we could, he had taken us by surprise.

"Twitler!" Ray took out his laser and shot at one of the screens.

"Did you really try to shoot me through a screen?" asked Twitler obviously.

"No!".

"Yes, you did, bro" said Henry "we all saw you take out your...".

"What do you want?!" interrupted Ray "are you going to send more thugs for Henry and I to defeat?".

Rick smiled maliciously "Nah, those thugs were just for fun, I needed time to be able to plan my plan properly".

"Oh really?" Henry questioned sarcastically "and what is it? Being an idiot? Because if that was mission accomplished".

He bumped fists with Ray "Good one".

I turned to Charlotte who had the same face as me, the face of 'I can't believe that even in a situation like this, Ray and Henry continue to act like children', yeah, that face.

Rick looked at them confused "the plan I told you? At the honey factory?".

"Oh no, I wasn't listening" Ray stammered

"I remember shooting you with a laser, many times" Henry.

I let out a tired sigh, and put a hand in front rubbing it, that's how I loved them, stupid, inopportune, that's how I loved them.

"Do you remember this?" he pulled out the bright green jar "the virus I invented".

"What am I looking at?" Henry asked.

Ray tilted his head "Something...?".

"Well, it's a disgusting and dangerous thing, that all it wants to do is spread and destroy, and now it has your super reflexes, Henry Hart".

"Oh yeah? Well guess what Twitler I have my superpowers again".

"Yeah!" Ray exclaimed.

"You can't stop me" Rick gave a mocking laugh "you can't stop me even if you could fly".

I let out a small, almost inaudible laugh, although inside I was dying of laughter, just like Charlotte and Schwoz, I couldn't resist it, it was too funny, even Ray was laughing, how ironic.

"It's... it's funny that you say that because a few moments ago he got on the couch and tried to do it...".

Now Rick Twitler was laughing too.

"You know what? It's not, it's not, it's not funny. It's not funny!" Henry shouted. "It's not funny! Let's just listen to Twitler's plan that won't work."

We stopped laughing abruptly, returning to seriousness.

"Oh, it's going to work, this virus is about to destroy the entire internet in Swellview..." Ray rolled his eyes and pulled out his phone "... and then it's going to spread and destroy the entire internet in the world, and the era of technology is going to end, forever".

"Why do you want to destroy technology?" Henry asked him "that's sick".

"Oh, I think the internet killed his mom or something" Ray answered without caring, looking at his phone.

Henry looked at him shocked "What really? That's sad, bro".

The two of them started a conversation between the two about how 'the internet had killed Rick Twitler's mom', inopportune in serious moments, I mean, there's a guy with a lethal virus, who wants to destroy the internet no matter if it leaves him bankrupt, since he invented a social network, and Ray and Henry talking about a meaningless stuff... those were my boys.

"The internet didn't kill my mom" Rick frowned "she's fine, she lives in Boca. And are you really looking at your phone right now?".

"Yeah, I have some pictures of your mother here".

"Oh, good one, dude".

Char and I rolled our eyes.

"Well enjoy your precious internet while it lasts" Rick continued "because soon, when you want to get information about something, you're going to have to read a book! A real one! with pages made of paper!".

"NO!" they both shouted in unison.

Ray took out his laser "You're a monster" he shot at another screen, two screens.

I glanced at Schwoz who raised his arms trying to question 'why' Ray did that, I wondered too.

"You have to stop doing that, dude" Henry told him as he lowered the laser.

Rick Twitler put on some kind of gloves with his logo on them, took the virus and opened the bottle it was in.

"Say goodnight guys" he bent down to release the contents "also, Charlotte, I could see your hair the whole time and Kai, stop playing hard to get, open your eyes".

I frowned bewildered, I think I had an idea about what he was referring to... but it wasn't the time to think about that, not now, later, not now. Twitler broke the bottle dropping it on some kind of millions of red wires, which when they touched the virus, they turned green, ending the video call.

I got up from the ground and looked at Henry worried, rather, we all had the same face, and I must admit that I was just a little scared.

"Everything is okay, right?" Ray asked nervously.

I shrugged my shoulders. Suddenly, an alarm, which wasn't the emergency alarm, started ringing, echoing throughout the Man Cave, making me start biting my thumb nail.

"Is that the..." Henry started to say in the same tone as Ray "everything is cool alarm?".

Nobody said anything, the alarm was deafening my ears, and it was making me more and more nervous, even more than when Whistlin' Susie almost exploded here.

"Hey! I removed all the stingers" Jasper came out of the monitor door "what's with the alarm?".

I opened my mouth to answer him, when suddenly everything went black, the light went out, nothing was on, everything looked like had died, things were barely visible, I was starting to get more nervous, so much so that I moved to the side accidentally, bumping into something.

When I felt the impact I jumped, lowering my hand, causing it to brush against something else, which felt warm and soft, it was another hand, which as soon as it felt the touch with mine, it took it and intertwined it, I looked up to see who it was, but there was no doubt about who it was... Henry.

"Is this the 'everything is okay power outage?'" he asked squeezing my hand.

"Everything is fine" Jasper said"–I know there is a flashlight around here, in this drawer full of weapons".

"No!" I shouted.

"Jasper no!".

"Wait!".

The boy took out one of the weapons and pressed the trigger thinking that had been what turned on the lamp, the laser bounced all over the Man Cave, landing right on one of the last two screens that weren't broken.

"Soooorry".
