"He must be at home, he left after the puppy delivery, he hasn't come out all day".

"What if he's not there?".

"I think he would have told me something, you said it yourself, Jasper".

He frowned confused "I don't get it".

"Oh" I sighed tiredly "forget it, let's just hope he's at his house".

Jasper and I walked at the speed of light towards Henry's house, hoping he would be there, since during the whole way we were still trying to call him, but nothing, and honestly I was starting to worry, and more so because Henry didn't do that, he always found a way to answer his phone or his watch, something wasn't right.

When we were already approaching the Hart house, Jasper started running like crazy shouting "HENRY" at full volume, receiving looks from everyone.

"Hey!" I shouted, but he didn't hear me, he was too far away "Jasper!".

People were also looking at me badly, I just smiled and nodded falsely.

Seeing that the boy was already too far away, I realized that I would have no choice but to run after him, as if I were a crazy woman. This is when I tested my poor physical condition.

I ran and ran, my legs began to shake and from time to time I had to stop to catch my breath, it was right at one of those stops, where I found my friend panting at the foot of the steps of Henry's house, he was practically sitting on one of them, out of air.

"Why... why...?" I was out of breath "why... did you... do... that?".

"No... no... I.. No...idea".

I turned my gaze to the house "at least... we're here".

As soon as I finished my sentence, Jasper stood up from the step as best he could and ran again, only this time to the door of Henry's house.

"I would have killed him" I said to myself.

Without thinking twice, I followed him running to the door, already there, the boy opened the door with a bang, entering and shouting as if it were his own house... which technically it is if we look at it in a certain way.

"HENRY WHERE...?! Oh! There you are".

"Did you have to do that?" I asked as I entered the house "you almost broke the door".

"But I didn't" he smiled proudly.

And there he was, Henry, unharmed, without a scratch, nothing out of the usual, he was sitting on the floor, with his family, and in the middle they had a table with a huge puzzle of a thousand colors on it.

Henry stood up immediately when he saw us, he looked at Jasper confused and then turned to look at me, a smile formed on his lips, making a smile escape me unconsciously, I felt happy to see him, and obviously calmer seeing him, knowing that he was okay.

"Henry!" Jasper went down the steps to the living room "you have to come to work, it's an emergency".

"No!" Kris shouted as she got up from the floor "not today!".

"Not today, that won't happen" Jake continued "how can there be an emergency in a junk store?".

Kris and Jake cornered Jasper, constantly denying that Henry couldn't go wherever he was going, even if it was an emergency.

Call me a profiteer, I wasn't, I ran to where my... best friend... was and gave him a hug, hey! I had really been worried, at least I could give him a hug without anyone bothering us about, you know.

"I'm glad you're okay" I said without letting go.

He hugged me back "why shouldn't I be?".

"You disappeared" I looked him in the eyes.

"Sorry, but I just don't...".

"Hey!" Piper shouted to Jasper getting everyone's attention "shouldn't you be in a zip-line and beat-boxing competition?".

Jasper looked at her amused "wow am I ?".

"They think I work too much," Henry said as he walked over to Jasper. "So they took my phone, my watch, and I can't go to work until I finish this puzzle." He pointed at the table. "Even if it's an emergency."

"Ohhhhh!" Jasper and I said in unison.

To a certain extent, Kris and Jake were right. Ray sometimes, just sometimes, exploited Henry too much, calling him all the time, interrupting him, but that was the life of a superhero and his sidekick, and we couldn't tell the Harts that, they would go crazy.

We would have to come up with some ridiculous excuse for them to let Henry go, but I'm running out of ideas. I looked at the puzzle out of the corner of my eye, trying to find help from the great minds who invented it... of course!

"Yep" Piper continued. "We're not going to fall for ridiculous excuses anymore".

Damn! New plan, new plan. I looked at the puzzle again, and as if by magic, a great idea appeared in my head.

"And we understand," I answered calmly, I stood next to Jasper. "Seriously, we understand, I just wanted you to know that when we were coming here..." I gulped. "I saw a puppy truck down the street".

Jake spat out the coffee he had in his mouth. I discreetly nudged Jasper to get him to play along.

"Yeah, exactly," he said, smiling. "A puppy truck."

"Puppy truck?" Piper asked.

"Yeah, it's just a truck that delivers puppies on the street."

"Adorable puppies," Jasper finished.

The Harts began to analyze our words, if they believed us, we had succeeded, if not, I already had another good ridiculous excuse in mind to tell them, the only problem was that we were running out of time, Ray was alone in the honey factory, of course he could do it alone, but Captain Man, he is not Captain Man without Kid Danger.

"Well, that sounds real" Jake said to Kris whispering.

"No, no, no, no, no..." Kris said.

"Although it is puppy and puzzle awareness week".

Henry pointed at his sister agreeing with her.

"Listo to yourself" Kris said desperately "you're falling for ridiculous excuses".

"Mom!" Henry took her by the shoulder "puppies" he said in a convincing tone.

Three of the Harts remained thoughtful for a few seconds, while I gave Henry a look indicating that there was no time, Jasper was already leaning on the door waiting for them to leave, this was taking forever, when suddenly, Kris approached Henry and looked him straight in the eyes.

"Don't you dare go to work while we're gone!".

And without further ado, the three of them ran out the front door at full speed, immediately after, Jasper closed the door with his foot and locked it.

"Okay! You have to get to the honey factory and help Ray fight the Bee-keeper to save the CEO of Twittflash" Jasper spoke too quickly.

Henry raised his arms "I can't, I can't go, I have to finish this 10,001 piece puzzle".

I approached Henry and tried to grab him by the shoulders, wow he was quite tall, so I couldn't help but stand on my tiptoes.

"Just use your super reflexes!# I said while shaking him.

"Do you think I didn't think of that? Because I didn't, Kai, you're brilliant".

I don't know how it happened, I don't know if it was an impulse, I don't know if it was the pressure, but as soon as he finished speaking, Henry bent down and gave me a kiss on the cheek, leaving me standing, frozen in the middle of the room.

I let go of Henry by reflex at what happened and he sat down on the floor again so he could finish the puzzle, I insist, he never stops surprising me. He moved so fast that you couldn't even notice his movements, and to make him finish faster, Jasper started throwing the pieces at him so he could arrange them with the others.

I blinked a couple of times, took my cheek with the palm of my hand, it was too fast, I wasn't expecting it, so much so, that for some reason the memories of when we kissed appeared in my head.
