We were at the Hart house, we had managed to put the dress on Piper, by the way not to brag, had turned out great, now it was on a platform so we could give it the finishing touches. Which was what Charlotte, and I were in charge of, while Jasper moved the house's things all over the place, trying to make the place look clean... he was really trying, and Henry, Henry was only eating grapes.

"Don't sit there," Piper said to Henry, who was about to sit on the couch.

Henry let out a mocking laugh "It's my house too, Piper, I sit wherever I wants".

The boy sat down on the couch, and before he could sit properly, he let out a small cry of pain.

"Eeep!".

"I just meant, because that's where all the extra cactus needles are".

"Yeah," he had his gaze fixed on a fixed point full of pain "I feel that now".

"We're also needing those needles for the dress," I looked at Henry, "so, get them out of your butt"

Henry got up from the couch "Sure thing".

I swear I did it unintentionally, more out of curiosity to see what it looked like, and dang! It looked painful, Henry's butt was full covered in needles everywhere, which by the way I had never seen directly, and I didn't realize what a nice butt he... AHHH! Shut your head, shut up!

I felt my cheeks blush at my own thought, damn, what's wrong with me?

"Kai, turn around" I turned to where Jasper was as he was calling me, the son of a... sprayed me with air freshener.

I closed my eyes immediately "Jasper!!! What's wrong with you?".

"You need to cool off," he responded as he sprayed more air freshener. "You were too blushed from seeing Henry's butt."

I don't usually swear but... Shit! Shit! I could feel the blood rushing to my head again, I wanted to disappear, vanish, I was dying of shame, and everyone was looking at me.

Charlotte and Piper looked at me mischievously; Jasper seemed to look at me as if he hadn't said or done anything wrong; while Henry... I couldn't even look at him, I couldn't, and if he saw me, I would die right now... can this be any worse?

"Why were you looking at Henry's butt, huh, Kai?" Piper asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Yes, Kai," Charlotte continued with the same tone, "why were you looking at Henry's butt?"

I swallowed nervously "ah... I... it's just that".

"Kai?" shit no, no "You saw my butt".

Before I was red, now I don't even know what I looked like, I had never been this red, never in my life, and I was starting to get so hot that my hands were already sweating, and my heart rate was going too fast, everything was so... AHHHH!

"Needles!" I screamed out of nowhere "I was looking at the needles on your butt... and I saw that it was a good butt... Not in that way" Shut up now, Kai! ", yeah, not in that way, not at all".

I was putting myself in humiliation, goodbye dignity forever. I took a deep breath, and without thinking for two seconds, I built up the courage to look at Henry.

He was also blushing, just like me, only a more subtle reddish color than mine, I could see a kind of joy in his eyes, and he had a huge smile from ear to ear.

"I'm sorry, I don't even know what I'm saying" I looked down ", it was completely involuntary, I didn't want to do it, I was just seeing the needles and...".

"No problem," Henry interrupted me "I felt admired for just a few moments."

I snorted "Yeah, if you want to look at it that way".

"And don't feel bad" Henry crouched down a little at my height and approached my ear ", you've got a nice butt too".

Today would be the day I would be blushed than any other, I can't believe Henry said that, we're friends! But that means he's seen me, well he's a teenager, he looks at girls and stuff, but it's Henry! Henry! my friend, my best friend, I don't want any more of this, I'm done thinking about this, my head was a complete tangled from thousands of things... enough!

"Thank you," I said nervously.

After that no one said anything, I just continued helping Charlotte with Piper's dress, trying to ignore Henry's stares completely, and pretend as if nothing had happened.

"Jasper, what are you spraying?" Charlotte asked.

Jasper continued spraying air freshener.

"Air freshener, Cashmere Plum," he responded as he continued pouring that stuff in. "I want it to smell nice for Patina".

He put a hand out trying to smell his breath and suddenly, he sprayed some air freshener inside his mouth... ew.

"Who cares how it smells?" Piper asked with a disgusted face. "Patina is allergic to unfiltered air, she won't even be here in person."

Facts.

"Yeah," Henry continued, "she's just going to be on the video monitor her nurse pushes around".

"Well, what she asks her nurse what the room smells like? Mhm? What then? What then?!" and Jasper just sprayed more air freshener.

I might be crazy, but Jasper was serious about his crush on Patina, I mean, he basically said that he loved her, and the whole 'air freshener thing because she might ask her nurse' was just too much, but that's love, and love drives you crazy.

"Okay, I think you're bein' a little too crazy now," I told him as I put some more needles on Piper's dress.

"Yeah, you're right, you're right," Jasper said as he sat on the couch, "I just need to chill out a bit," and at that moment the doorbell rang, "SHE'S HERE! EVERYBODY SHUT UP!"

I jumped in my own spot and looked at Charlotte with a worried look, who had the same look as me. Jasper got up from the couch, went to the door where he grabbed the knob.

"When I open the door, everybody laugh like I just said something funny, okay?" oh Jasper "Okay, and... funny".

We looked at each other confused, pretending that we were laughing at something, and it was the fakest laughs I had ever heard in my life, but all for my friend and his incredibly huge crush on Patina, I insist, love drives you crazy.

Jasper opened the door "Oh, hey, Patina".

The nurse with the monitor entered the house "Hi, Jasper" Patina greeted, smiling.

"Come on in, come on in".

We were still laughing like psychopaths, while Jasper helped Patina's nurse down the small step to the living room. I accidentally exchanged glances with Henry, which I held for about three seconds... okay, I was exaggerating with the... butt thing, the best I could do was ignore the situation and carry on as if nothing had happened, plus we were going to the Cactus Con tomorrow.

Together, as friends; and not looking at each other's butt... that sounded better in my head.

"Jasper, you're so funny."

"I love this house" Patina said.

"Thanks," Henry responded.

Piper shrugged her shoulders "Okay".

"Morgan" Patina spoke to her nurse "What does the room smell like?"

This had to be a joke.

"Cashmere plum," Morgan answered without any expression, "it's delightful."

I looked at Jasper and nodded slightly in approval of what he had done, I was quite impressed I must admit.

"Does this place have a basement?" the nurse asked.

Henry frowned "Uh... yeah?".

"Okay, I'll find it."

It was the strangest thing I had heard all day, and the most disturbing behavior I had seen, and it's coming from hanging out with Schwoz every day, that's saying a lot.

Morgan walked towards where the basement was, while everyone who remained in the living room was kinda confused about what just had happened.

"You look gorgeous," Patina said.

Jasper blushed "Thank you".

"She was talking to me," Piper intervened.

Awkward silence, again. Jasper looked at Henry and they both shared knowing glances, while my friend and I adjusted the sash on Piper's dress.

"Anyway" Charlotte broke the ice "Hey, is this how you wanted the sash to hang?".

"Yes! You guys nailed it!" Patina responded smiling "Ugh, Piper, I wish I could see you in that dress at Cactus Con in person".

"Well! Well!" Jasper ran and knelt in front of the monitor "Do it, come with me, I'll be your date".

Henry gave a fake cough "Slow down. A bit bold".

"Jasper, I would love to go to Cactus Con with you".

What the heck? At what point did it cross Patina's head to date Jasper? I think she needed some air.

Bad pun, my bad.

Henry fake coughed again "Keep going, it's working".

"But I can't," Patina said with a disappointed face.

"Oof" Piper laughed "Dude, you just got curved, hard".

I looked at her with a grim expression and she stopped smiling, although I admit it was funny.

"No, no, no, I didn't mean to curve you. I just meant that I'd go if I could leave my house, but I can't".

Jasper got up from the ground and started playing with his hands.

"Well," he began to speak, "what if you could?"

Patina looked at him confused "I don't see how that's possible" she smiled "I'm allergic to air".

And like a few seconds ago, Jasper looked at Henry as he made a rather long "Mmmmm" sound. Until he snapped his fingers and raised his arms.

"Kid Danger!" He shouted.

"What?" Charlotte and I startle at the same time.

"Oh God," Henry exclaimed.

Jasper had very clear that one of the rules of working for Captain Man and Kid Danger was that he absolutely could not use Kid Danger for his personal gain. A rule that was invented after Henry used his powers to play in the dodgeball championship like a year ago and made Jasper's team win.

Applies to everyone who's part of the Danger Team.

"What about Kid Danger" this time the girl on the monitor asked, with some excitement.

"He owes me a favor," Jasper replied.

"He does?" I asked.

"Oh really?".

Henry walked towards where his friend was with his arms crossed "Oh, does he, Jasper? Owe you that? 'Cause I don't- don't ...".

"Yeah, he does," the boy spoke, ignoring Henry, "And he could... he could protect you!"

"From allergies?" Piper asked as she put her hands on her hips.

"No!" Jasper hesitated "I mean... yes, yes. But I just meant that Kid Danger's got all kinds of cool gadgets and stuff, right, right, right Henry?!".

Jasper repeatedly teased Henry, who was sitting in the corner of the couch, waiting for his friend not to say something else that could put him in a hard position.

And that's when I realized that if Kid Danger went to Cactus Con, I couldn't go with Henry Hart.

"How would I know that?" the blonde asked credulously.

I raised my arms and then put them on Henry's shoulders "Uh... because you're a big Kid Danger fan".

"Yeah, whatever!" Jasper ignored us, again "If I could guarantee that Kid Danger will keep you safe, will you come to Cactus Con with me?".

Henry started to get up from the couch "Guarantee is a strong word" but since I had him by the shoulders, I made him sit down again.

"Jasper! That would be amazing!" Patina said smiling, again ", but would Kid Danger really do that?".

"Of course!!!"

"Well...".

"He loves me!".

"Love is a strong word" I sat him down again.

"He'll do it!".

"Jasper! Thank you so much!".

Henry let go of my grip and walked to where Patina's monitor was, with a very happy Jasper in front of him. I swear that smile would last him until tomorrow at the Cactus Con.

"Awe, this is cute, this is just great, this is just..." Henry gave a fake smile. "Hey, Jasper, can talk to you outside on the front porch, please?"

"Sure!"

"Cool, come on".

The two boys went out to the porch leaving us girls inside, Patina was seriously excited that she shouted to her mom "I'm going to Cactus Con and Kid Danger is going to protect me". And I've gotta admit, I wasn't very happy about it.

I can only say that if Ray found out... argh, it's Ray, he wouldn't even care.

I was happy for Jasper, he finally managed to get a date with Patina L., using Henry of course, but now thanks to that I couldn't go with him to Cactus Con, I mean, I could, but it'd be dangerous to see me with Kid Danger. It would be a huge problem.

And now, what?
