Saturday had arrived, the day to get tickets to the Great Cactus Con had arrived. It was the day when all of Swellview would be buying tickets and tapping their phones all day, literally speaking, the tickets were selling too fast, people were tapping the buy button as if there was no tomorrow, and as if that was their life... I include myself, I include my family, I include everyone I know.

Nobody wanted to miss this convention.

Henryway, we were in the Man Cave, sitting on the couch, tapping on our phone, trying to get tickets to the convention, it was crazy.

"Happy Fajita Friday people!" shouted Jasper, who came out of the elevator with a frying pan full of fajitas.

"It's not Friday, it's Saturday," Henry responded without taking his eyes off his phone.

"Oh, well that explains why I was the only one at school today."

This was too much, my fingers were getting tired.

"Silence boy!" Ray shouted "We're trying to buy tickets to Cactus Con!"

Jasper frowned "But they don't go on sale until Saturday."

I rolled my eyes while still pressing the screen on my phone, "Think it through."

I looked out of the corner of my eye that Schwoz had gone to get some kind of napkin that he carried around his neck, tongs, and tortillas to eat his fajitas, but it was useless.

"AH!" Jasper threw the fajitas on the floor "Today is Saturday! I gotta buy tickets!"

"Run, genius!"

Jasper ran to the swivel couch and pulled out his phone, then handed it to Henry, and started searching for tickets to the convention.

I swear that after this day I would literally run out of fingers, damn this was saturated, and it was that strange feeling, the need, to have those tickets, I really needed them... okay, I'm going crazy.

"Anybody got tickets yet?" asked Jasper.

"No!" Ray responded.

"Do you see me tapping?" Charlotte said.

"We've been here a long time!" I looked at him with a grim expression.

The room was filled with the sounds of screens refreshing, and complaints about why we couldn't get tickets.

"I don't understand why everyone loves this Cactus Convention so much," Schwoz said as he grabbed fajitas off the floor.

Ray turned to look at him, offended. "What?" He gave his phone to Henry as he got up from the couch "Tap my phone for me, will ya?"

"Uhhhh---."

"Thank you, little buddy" he ruffled his hair, and walked to where Schwoz was. "Cactus Con, it's Swellview's best convention. It's better than Wallet Con, Squirrel Con, and Chaka Con."

Schwoz did nothing but shrug his shoulders and make a face of annoyance, although Ray was right, Cactus Con was the best, and since I've been here every year it's the same, literally, of course there was also the Diamond Con, where they always brought the best diamonds in the world.

And one time Henry was "charmed" by a jewel thief and let's say I disliked her a little. Long story for another day.

"You can tap another phone, right?" Charlotte asked this time, giving her phone to Henry.

"Uh, no, I'm a little...".

"Thank you champ".

Charlotte walked towars Ray and Schwoz.

"And they have the best food, cactus milk, cactus tacos, oh..." she pointed at me and snapped her fingers ", cactus jerky" I returned the gesture, it was delicious.

Schwoz grimaced "That all sounds disgusting".

I looked at him with a 'serious' face "You're eating fajitas off the floor".

"You want one?".

"Yeah, I'll have one" I answered "you can tap a third phone, right?".

Henry looked at me desperately "No, in fact, I can't take any more---".

"Thanks, pretty boy" I gave Henry my phone.

Maybe you're thinking: 'Ah! Henry's tapping too many phones, how does he do it?' This guy has super reflexes, which is almost like being super fast, a.k.a having super speed, there was no more reason for him to be tapping three phones at once.

Schwoz handed me the taco fajita "Here".

"Thanks for the floor-jita" I said as I took the tortilla and took a bite.

"And my sister's the Cactus Queen this year".

I nodded while I chewed my floor-jita "True".

"Kai and I designed the dress with our friend, Patina" Charlotte continued.

As soon as Charlotte finished her sentence, Jasper turned to look at Char with a hopeful look, and a strange glint and sparkle in his eyes.

"Wait, wait, wait" Jasper spoke ", The pretty Patina? The prettier Patina? or The prettiest Patina?".

I shrugged my shoulders "Uh... Patina L."

Jasper gasped and got up from the couch "The prettiest Patina?!" and as expected he handed his phone to Henry "Hey, tap my phone for me!".

"I'm kinda maxed out here...".

"Thanks, sport!" the boy came towards us "I love Patina L. I love her" he paused "Like, I love her".

"Everyone loves Patina L." I took a bite out of my fajita "She's great".

"Have you like, actually seen her?" Jasper asked again ", like, have you been to her house?"

I shook my head slightly "Nah, you know what her house is like".

"Yeah, her house it's like totally sealed shut" Charlotte finished.

Patina L. A popular girl in our grade who was literally the best person I have ever met in my life. She is too sweet, kind, cool, everyone loved her, and I could swear that all the boys at Swellview High had a crush on her, without even meeting Jasper, I don't blame him, Patina L. was amazing, she was the kinda girl everyone wanted to be, even boys wanted to be like her.

"Why, does she smell bad?" Schwoz asked.

"No, she's got this a crazy allergy..." Henry began to speak.

"AH! AH!" Ray interrupted him. "Less yappin', more tappin', get us tickets for Cactus Con."

Henry looked at him bewildered "What?! Dude, I'm literally tapping faster than any other human being right now" super reflexes.

"You can yap faster than any other human too." Ray took a bite to his fajita. "Now, can someone please tell me what Henry was about to say?"

I sighed "Patina has this really rare allergy".

"What is she allergic to?".

"Air".

Ray laughed "Good one. No seriously, what's she allergic to?".

"She's allergic to unfiltered air, so she can't go to school in person," Jasper replied.

I went to get my Pear Pad from my backpack, which was where Henry was still tapping all four phones like crazy, which was impressive because his hands moved too fast and he never got tired. Never too cool.

"Is everything okay, Hen?" I asked him.

He nodded "I could use some help...".

"You're doing great."

I went to Twittflash and looked up Patina's profile to show Ray.

"Look," I said as he handed him the Pear Pad.

"She has a nurse who pushes around a video monitor that shows a live stream of Patina from her sealed house" Jasper had a lover's smile.

Ray didn't answer for the first 5 seconds, he took a bite of her fajita and after he swalloed the bite, he sighed.

"I swear I don't understand your generation" he finally said.

"Yeah, the monitor thing is kinda weird at first but then...".

"WE GOT TICKETS FOR THE CACTUS CON!" Henry shouted.

YES! Finally, finally, everyone at the Man Cave began to celebrate and do strange celebratory dances.

"YEAH!".

"Woo!".

"Woo!".

"Yayy!".

Ray and Henry high-fived, then Henry did a backflip.

"Woah!" Ray opened his eyes wide "What?... What? Holy crust! Did you just do a backflip?"

"Yeah," Henry answered, with a little trouble breathing. 

It wasn't a big deal, we could all do a backflip, but apparently Ray was surprised, you could see it by his face.

"Is no one else impressed by Henry just doing a backflip?".

"It's just a backflip" Charlotte responded.

"And he only did one" Schwoz finished.

I nodded "Yeah, everybody can do a backflip".

"I don't believe you".

I rolled my eyes and gave my fajita and Pear Pad to Charlotte. I prepared my legs, as well as my hands and begged for the 10 years of gymnastics not to fail me, without further ado, I did a backflip.

"Is this real life?" Ray asked, quite amazed.

Charlotte gave me my fajita and my Pear Pad, and without thinking about it, she also did a backflip, followed by Jasper, who did it without any problem.

"Are you seeing this?" I was still surprised.

To top it off, Schwoz gave his fajita to Charlotte, and did a backflip, ending up in a funny pose, earning an embarrassed look from Ray.

"Can you not do one, dude".

"Mhm?".

"Can you not do one, dude".

Ray snorted "Of course, I can".

Jasper, Charlotte and I turned to look at each other with a grimace on our faces, awkward.

"Okay" Charlotte broke the silence "Hey, Kai, we should probably get to Henry's house for Piper's fitting".

"True, let's go" I took my phone from the table.

"Is Patina gonna be there?" Jasper asked desperately, I nodded. "Can I come? You won't even notice I'm there, I'll be totally quite, watch".

Jasper made an excited, impatient, in love faces, as well as he put his hands on his mouth, trying not to let any cry of emotion escape him... oh Jasper.

"If it's cool with Henry."

"Yeah!" He pointed towards Henry seeking approval.

He nodded "Sure" he threw his phone at him "Here's your phone Kai".

"Thanks" I smiled at him "Hey, seriously, thank you for getting the tickets, I love your super speed".

He returned the gesture "I love you too... your... intelligence" he hesitated a little "You could've hacked the website to get tickets and you didn't".

"Yeah, well a little adrenaline from Cactus Con every year doesn't hurt".

We both laughed, and we stared into each other's eyes. I hadn't realized how much he had grown since I met him. He was now taller than me, and like the time of his birthday, I was left admiring all depth his eyes could express, lately there were many moments like that, and I enjoyed it, which was the rare thing, but somehow very comforting.
