So last night, a whole lot of stuff happened! First there was the message board update that people thought it was a glitch, but actually it was an update from Wattpad since something about the emails (that were the original notification for message boards) didn't work so they moved it to notifications.

Now there's this whole rumor going around that wattpad is deleting RP books as well as accounts. Considering how big the rumor spread, it's a serious issue.

Last night, while others were unpublishing their RP books to stay safe, I kept mine up to prove wrong about the rumor. Well this morning I still have the RP books and my accounts still safe.

There is still a lot of speculation about the rumor and if it's true or not. To help ease the situation, I'll add points on why I believe the Wattpad deleting RPs and accounts rumor to be fake.

•First of all, there are tons of RPers in the Wattpad community, just as much as writers! They help shape it as it was just as much as the accounts who don't RP, not to mention how it also makes Wattpad more successful. If Wattpad is deleting accounts [other than the smut accounts and cyber-bullies] then not only will it hurt it's reputation, but it also means less users. The less users the app has, the more unpopular it gets. That would be too big of a risky move.

•The only accounts that I know that have been deleted was that they did sexual stuff on Wattpad, breaking their guidelines. Besides that, I haven't seen any accounts that have been deleted ever since last night, including RP books.

•the rumor started as the message board update was happening and everyone was confused about it. I wouldn't be surprised if someone would use that to spread the rumor.

•RPs encourage a lot of creative thinking and brings accounts together, which is also one of wattpad's goals right?: to bring people together? It seems to be against their goal if they are deleting RPs.

•Accounts getting deleted for no reason has happened even before the update. It's not Wattpad's fault, it's just a bug.

There is nothing to worry about! You don't need to worry about the rumor! I'm positively sure that everyone is safe from the rumor! Sure Wattpad needs to fix some things, but this whole rumor seems far fetched to me.
