Wheee!!! I really really love this!

Aaminin ko...I'm so a big fan of anime! And I've watched so many titles of different genres...from magical girls...to school idols (ayun kaya ang pinagmulan ng cosplay career mo)...to mecha titles...to romantic comedy. Whooo! Wala na akong hahanapin pa! Hehehe!

And besides, pwede kong magamit yun pinapanood ko dahil ang foreign language subject namin for this semester is Japanese! Huehehe! Passing this subject will be a piece of cake as always!

"Konnichiwa, Carlo-san!"

"Huh? Anong sinasabi mo, Ami?" Nalito ang boyfriend ko sa bati ko sa kanya.

"Ang sabi ko...konnichiwa, Carlo-san! Uy, dapat kang masanay sa Japanese kasi yan ang foreign language natin ngayong sem." Paliwanag ko sa kanya.

"Well...paano ko naman matututunan iyan ng isang bagsakan iyan?"

"Ay sus! Easy lang iyan! Let's have an anime marathon in library!"

"Huh? Paano naman matututo ng Japanesd if we're only gonna watch anime?" Doubtful si Carlo sa plano ko.

"Hehehe! Don't worry, just trust me!" Sabay kindat sa kanya. "Kung hindi ka matututo sa panonood ng anime, I'll teach you the easiest way of learning the language, how's that?"

"Sinabi mo iyan, ha?"

Nagarkila ulit kami ng study room ng library para magkaroon kami ng katahimikan para mapanood ang anime namin.

Sa totoo lang, this is also one way of finishing one of my favorite anime titles. It is a wonderful romantic comedy title na mapapaluha ka sa kakatawa...and sa lungkot ng mga eksena. Let's see here...it's all about a cute school girl who admires a rich nerdy boy, she always court him but always reject her...in any things but a kitchen sink...but little by little...lumalambot ang matigas na puso ng lalaki...

"Huy. Ano bang nangyayari diyan?"

Palihim akong napangiti noong mapansin ko na nagsisimula nang makarelate si Carlo sa story ng anime...

"Hehehe! Basta panoorin mo na lang. Atsaka, try mo na ring intindihin yung mga sinasalita nila dyan at yung subtitles niyan."

Habang tumatagal kami sa panonood...mas lalong tumatamis ang mga eksena. Well, yung lalaki ay napalapit na ang loob niya sa babae...but he tries to test the girl's loyalty by pulling off some random pranks on her...each one is more sadistic and funnier than the last. Naku! Sobrang lakas ng halakhak ko sa lakas tama ng mga pranks ng lalaki...

"Huy! Hinain mo muna yung tawa mo. Gusto kong maunawaan ang plot ito."

Hmm! Masyado ka naman killjoy, Carlo! Sinira mo naman yung mood ko! Hmph! Kaya ko naman pinause ko ang panonood namin.

"Huy! Bakit mo naman tinigil yung video?" Nagreklamo pa si Carlo sa akin.

"Huy! Hindi tayo nandito para maflirt sa mga eksena. Remember, tinuturuan kita ng mga Japanese words para sa foreign language natin through watching anime. Have you memorized at least one?"

"Aaah...eeeh..." His mood suddenly turns into defensive stance. Halatang wala siyang natutunan.

"Just as I thought. You have just missed yung mga parts na madaling intindihan. We're gonna watch it again from the beginning."

"What?!?!" Carlo strongly objects with my orders.

"Huh? Gusto mo bang bumagsak?" Then I revealed my evil grin at him. "Too bad, kapag bumagsak ka, hindi ka na naman pwedeng sumama sa akin sa probinsiya sa Pasko. Do you want to happen that to you again?"

"Whaaa! Hi-hindi!"

"Hmph! I guess we're understood each other..."

And so we restarted watching the anime. I can see na nagseryoso na si Carlo by trying to connect the subtitles sa mga sinasalita talaga ng mga characters. And as respect, pinipigil ko na lang ang tawa ko kapag napanood ulit namin ang mga funny acts.

When we reached the midpoint of the series...

"Alright...let's check kung ano yung mga natutunan mo sa Japanese crash course ko..."

Carlo then lends me his notebook para makita ko ang kanyang ginagawa. Based from his notes...hmm...though may iilan akong nakita na tama...Japanese words connected to its respective translations...marami pa rin siyang mali...there is still a long way to go...

"You still need to improve." Binalik ko ang notebook sa kanya. "You need another listening exercises..."

"So uulitin ba natin yung pinapanood natin?"

"Well...hmm...I think pwede na nating ituloy." Then I smiled at him. "Ikaw naman kasi, kanina hindi ka nagseseryoso kaya nainis ako sa iyo."

"Ehehehe...sorry, Ami. Nadala lang."

Ngumiti na lang ako sa kanya as we begim to watch the next episodes...those were the times na as the rich boy and the cute girl became very close to one another...the biggest tragedies happened...so deep that they are close to breaking up...sigh...di ko nga mapigilan na mapaluha noong nagaway sila eh. Huhuhu!

And in the middle of it all, kalmado lang si Carlo while doing some translating Japanese words to English...

"Alright, let's see what you've done so far..."

And just before we watched the last episode, tiningnan ko ang gawa ni Carlo para malaman ko kung tama ang mga notes niya but...sigh...mali pa rin ang mga sagot niya...

"Alright...you really need to improve if you want to pass foreign language. So here's the deal...alam ko na gustong-gusto mong tapusin ang anime na iyon...so heto, unless you want to be spoiled on the last episode, you need to study Japanese language. Don't worry, I will help you with that. Kapag mataas ang grade mo sa first quiz natin doon, I will let you watch that final episode. Konting spoiler lang...magugulat ka sa finale...huehehe!"

"Sure. No problem, Ami."

So nilabas ko ang aking little Japanese manual at nagsimula na akong magturo sa kanya ng mga basic about the language and how it is spoken and it was written. Mas madali ko na siyang maturuan since my favorite romantic comedy anime na pinanood ko sa kanya have oriented him about everything.

It took more than a week para turuan ko siya ng Japanese. And like that time when I taught him how to swim, mabilis rin niyang matutunan kung paano magsalita, magsulat at makaintindi ng Japanese just like me. Huehehe!

One week later...

Today is the first quiz of foreign language subject...and as expected...huehehe! I took this quiz as a piece of cake! Watching anime since elementary has helped me to learn and understand Japanese. Ha! And since I'm here in a prestigious university, pag nakita nila ang potential ko...wheee! Pwede akong makasama sa student exchange program! Huehehe! With all expense paid at weekly allowance, pwede akong makapakagala at makabili ng napakaraming anime merchandise! Wheee!!!

"Class, the student who got the highest score in this class is...Carlo Louis Cristobal!"

What?!?! Ako ang nagturo sa kanya...tapos siya mismo ang mas mataas na grade kaysa sa akin?!

"Ehem!" Lumapit ako kay Carlo and called his attention.

"Hmm? Anong problema, Ami?"

"Can you please explain why you have high grades than me?" Then I make an evil grin at him.

"Uy! Anong problema doon? Di ba talaga rival kita sa klase?" But Carlo is seemed to be confused about my expression. "Atsaka pala...nagpursigido pala ako para lang matapos yung anime na pinapanood natin last week."

"Huuuy! Gusto mo talagang malaman kung nagkatuluyan sila, no? Huehehe!"

Namula si Carlo noong inaasar ko siya. Halatang he's indeed crazy to know the ending of the story.

"Alright, alright. Sa lunch break natin panoorin." I smiled at him.

Alam niyo ba kung ano ang ending ng romantic comedy anime na pinanood namin? Well...it turns out that while they hated each other na after so many tragedies na nangyari sa kanila...the rich boy wants to be with the cute girl by his side...ginawa niya ang lahat para bumalik ang babae...he sacrificed his money...and even his life...noong niligtas niya ang babae from committing suicide by being hit by a train and he take her place instead...

And you know what, when the rich boy was in coma, the cute girl confesses her love to him and kisses him...coincidentally, the rich boy wakes up. Wheee!!! The cute girl blushes a lot...but still in love with the rich boy.

When we finished watching the anime...

"Alam mo...yung dalawa sa anime na iyon, parang tayong dalawa lang." Realization ni Carlo.

"Huh? Pa-paano naman magiging pareho tayo sa kanila?" Ngumiti ako sa kanya while blushing...

"Well...ikaw ang sumusuyo sa akin...tapos niloloko kita minsan. Pero eventually, nagkamabutihan tayo at naging tayo na."

"Well...ehehehe...actually, ganun din ang naging dahilan kung bakit ito ang naging reference para sa foreign language mo eh"

"Talaga?"

He then kissed me at my cheek, leaving me speechless. Ang sasabihin ko sa kanya...my own explanation kung bakit medyo magkahawig ang kwento namin sa anime na pinanood namin...nakalimutan ko nang parang bula noong hinalikan niya ako...

The only thing that I can do is to smile sweetly and say...

"Thank you, Carlo."
