Chapter Fifty-six: Someone's PMSing
Poetry: Jenny's Letter to Nate; Scene from 'Someone Great'
Chapter Fifty-six: Someone's PMSing
I was crying worse than I was before.
They were together for nine years. Nine freaking years! That is not a small time at all.
I decided to watch a Netflix movie, and it seemed the universe was frowning down on me for putting 'Someone Great' in my recommended.
You should have probably read the information first.
That doesn't matter now. I grabbed the remaining tissue that was still on my bed and blew my nose, hard. I'm so full of snot today. Maybe Jay could add it to his collection.
I rewinded the poem scene so I could watch it again. I couldn't help myself. It was just so sad and beautiful. Before it could get any sadder, my room door burst open.
"Sweetie nooo."
I turned at the sound of Zahra's voice. She walked in and plopped down on the chair. Coming in after her was Xander and Leyla.
Xander snatched the remote from my hand. "Why are you watching this?" He changed the channel. His eyes shot to my table. "And drinking that?"
I turned to my half empty cup of green tea. "You can have it if you want it."
"No thanks."
Leyla shrugged. "I'll drink it."
Zahra scrunched her face up. "But it's clearly cold."
"Also very healthy." She said as she grabbed the cup. "There's no need to waste."
"You could buy a lot of it, and it'll still not make a dent in your credit card." Zahra replied.
"So?"
My room door swung open again. What is this? A party? Can't they see I'm having the time of my life crying and watching sad movies, swimming in my tissues of mucus?
Yuck.
Rev walked in clutching her phone in her hands. "You've gotta see this."
"How did you get home?" Xander asked.
"Since you had practice, and I needed to attend my ballet classes, Sammy's driver took me."
Xander just nodded. Kai walked in a few seconds later.
"While I was parking the car, I saw some dude lurking around the entrance. He looks familiar, but I can't place a name to his face."
"It's probably a hobo. Ignore." Zahra commented.
"In fancy clothes?"
"Leyla, are you really going to drink that?" Xander repeated.
Leyla took a sip, and rubbed her belly, "Mmm... Delicious."
"I said you guys have got to see this." Rev repeated louder.
Okay, this is too much noise.
"Can we all just be silent?!!" I said, a little too loudly. "Please." I pleaded.
They all turned to me. "Please. I can't handle this noise. Xander, if you want to talk to Leyla about cold drinks, do it in the kitchen. Rev, go show whatever you want to Aaron. Kai and Zahra, let's just ignore whoever is loitering. Whether rich or poor, the person would eventually leave. So please. Just please. Let me be depressed in peace."
I let out a breath after that.
Zahra scoffed. "Jeez! Someone's PMSing."
"Whether I am or am not, let me do this in peace."
"What I don't understand is how you could yell at us, and still be crying in sadness." Rev commented.
I grabbed my box of tissues, just to see they were empty. Xander reached into his pocket and handed me his pocket tissue, "Here."
I collected it. "Thanks." I blew my nose in it.
"Can you be quiet about it? I'm sipping tea, here."
I turned to Leyla with a blank stare. She shrugged, "What?"
"If you would just get all this used tissues off your bed, then we'll be able to sit and stop standing at your entrance awkwardly." Kai commented. He passed me my trash can and I packed all the tissues on my bed and put it inside.
"What movie were you watching?" Rev asked.
"Someone Great." She shook her head and muttered, "Not a very good idea," before walking through the connecting doors.
"Why would you watch that?"
I just shrugged. I tried to snatch the control from Xander to return it to what I was watching, but he wouldn't budge. He tickled me until I fell back onto the bed.
"Check this out guys." Leyla commented as she walked to sit at the foot of my bed facing the television. I crawled until I was at the edge of the bed, and realized what she was looking at.
The live interview between Serena Davis and some girl. Xander and I must have changed to that accidentally.
"Increase the volume." Zahra hissed at Xander, and he obliged.
Serena: Yes, Portugal.
Interviewer: (smiles) I wish I could speak Portuguese. Say something about me and I will try to get it. I started practicing.
Serena: (laughs) Okay. Let me think. (stares at the ceiling for a while then looks back down at the interviewer) Eu amo seu cabelo.
Interviewer: (rolls lips inwardly) I like your clothes.
Serena: (claps hands)That was good. That was good, but it's I love your hair.
Interviewer: (shrugs) I guess I do need to complete those lessons. (glances to the side) Well, that's the end of today's interv- (cuts herself off and touches her ear, probably listening to someone through it) Hold on! I'm getting new information from my sources. I have more personal questions to ask you, if that's okay.
Serena: (nods) It is okay. I have nothing to hide.
Interviewer: (smiles) Perfect. As you know, you're a rising star, and people, your fans, would love to know more about you.
Serena: I thought I already told you everything.
Interviewer: The status of your relationship is still unknown.
Serena: Relationship?
Interviewer: Don't act so oblivious. We are getting information on what is going on behind the scenes with friend, Zane Rivers.
Serena: (sets jaw in a thin line) Oh, that. (chuckles nervously) I guess I'm not the only one who reads CeCe Ryder's blog.
Interviewer: Anybody who's anybody goes to her blog for juicy information.
Zahra scoffed. "Gossiping bitch."
Leyla replied. "I don't totally agree with your way of putting it, but I know right."
Serena: I see.
Interviewer: So, what is the status of your relationship?
Serena: We're just friends.
Oh, so now they're friends. Snake.
Interviewer: What is in your way? (touches device in her ear again) Or, is it who? Is it because of the girl?
I would have been excited they were talking about me on National TV, but...
Serena: The girl in the photos?
Interviewer nods.
Serena: Of course not.
Interviewer: So she is pathetic after all. Can't even be deemed as a threat.
Serena: That's not what I said.
All of a sudden, the TV went off. We all turned to Xander. He raises his hands in surrender. "I don't want to hear it, and neither should you, Char."
"Wouldn't you want to know what the person you hate the most is saying about you on National TV?"
"Well, if you put it like that." He weighed the options in his hands.
Zahra grabbed the remote at the same time she said, "Give it to me." She switched the TV back on and when we did, there was a new person sitting beside Serena and doing something on a laptop.
"Who is that?" I asked.
"How do you not know this already?" Kai asked. "It's CeCe Ryder."
I groaned. "I hate that I love her name."
"We all do." They chorused.
CeCe: Thank you for inviting me. I have the photos here.
Interviewer: No, thank you for coming.
(The projector behind them was switched on, and they turned sideways to look at it.)
Pictures of Zane, Serena and I from that night were being projected, but there were more this time. I shut my eyes from the embarrassment. I get that she's a celebrity and all, but when they're butting into her life can they not carry mine along?
Xander's gasp made me open my eyes again. There were more pictures than from that night. There were pictures of this afternoon. Pictures of Jayden, Jaxon and I. Pictures of me smiling at Jayden. Pictures of Jaxon and Jayden looking like they were arguing. Even pictures of when I was against the wall, and Jaxon was touching my face.
When the slideshow of torment was over, CeCe turned to the screen and smiled.
CeCe: (smiling) Read my blog if you want to find out what Zane's girlfriend is up to with two identical boys who seem to be fighting over her. Was Zane the reason the relationship ended, or is there more to this story? Don't keep yourself in susp-
Zahra switched off the TV.
I rolled back on my bed, head on pillow and stared at the ceiling as my friends stared at me. "Why is CeCe Ryder ruining my life?"
"She needed juicy things to put on her blogs for internet fame." Zahra's clarification wasn't really helpful.
"Yeah." Leyla replied. "The Weblog Awards are nearing."
Xander raised his brows. "You mean the bloggies?"
"Well, if you want to use the nickname."
"That's it!" Kai snapped his fingers. "That's the guy that was loitering around the entrance. He looks awfully familiar."
I sat up. What was Jay doing here? Was something wrong?
What makes you think it was Jay and not Jaxon?
My friends all turned to me waiting for an explanation.
I chose the easiest one. "Hot guy in black slim-fitted turtle neck."
Zahra clapped her hands together in remembrance. Then she gave me a small smile. "And yet you claimed you're not interested in him."
"I'm not."
She groaned. "You just broke up with your boyfriend, you gotta live a little."
I lay back on my bed, arms outstretched. "I think this is the stage where I'm mourning the death of my heart."
Xander lay down beside me, on one of my arms. "My deepest condolences."
Zahra came and stood over my face. "Is it bad I want to check the blog?"
"You can go ahead."
Rev ran in through my door. She mustn't have been in her room then. "Have you guys seen-"
We all cut her off. "Yes."
She frowned. "Well, whatever. I rushed in here to show you what she had written about Char and those two boys in her blog, but Char was too busy PMSing to stop shouting and start listening."
"Leave my Charvi alone!" Xander demanded. "She's mourning the death of her heart."
"Oh great, when is the burial? Who cares? This is more important and Char should take her ghost heart and shove it back into her body because she is going to look at this blog."
"I don't wanna." I whined.
"Read it." Zahra told Rev.
"I don't want to. You guys are basically breeding a masochist. Isn't anyone listening to me? "
"Nope." Zahra replied. I just groaned as Rev started reading it.
"Headlines: Is Zane really the cheater or is pathetic girl less pathetic than we thought?"
Xander brushed my head. "No one thinks you're pathetic."
I leaned into his shirt. "Your parents are lawyers get them to sue her before my tear ducts empty out."
"She's a blogger, my parents can't sue her for doing her job."
Leyla scoffed. "She's more like Gossip Girl. CeCe is making me start to reconsider my love for gossip girl."
Me too.
And who am I? That's one secret I'll never tell. You know you love me. XOXO! Gossip Girl!
Nope. Still love her.
"Let me continue." Rev commanded. "From my previous blog, you can see I've taken an interest into the love triangle between Serena Davis, Zane Rivers and this girl. But today, I found out it was more of a love pentagon, with this girl in the middle of two boys I'm guessing are brothers due to their identical looks. I was at the entrance of Zane River's school ready to interview him on the reality of the situation, but the poor boy looked like he had been crushed. Is this girl playing with the heart of the future head of Z-Tech Industries? She better not be. From the look on his face, she seemed to have.
I was about heading back when out ran the girl. She must have encountered Zane on her way in because she also was having an emotional breakdown from the look on her face, so I decided to follow her. In a non-creepy way. Just when I thought nothing interesting was going to happen, I spotted her with another boy that she seemed to be familiar with. And the fact that he brought a smile to her saddened face must mean something. Is Zane Rivers' heartbreak based on his guilt or is he covering up for this girl instead? And she wasn't just hitting it off with one, the brother came strutting down the street towards her. He seemed ready to be in a brawl with his brother, I'm guessing, over her. Maybe pathetic girl is less pathetic than she seems to be. There must be more beneath the surface.
Don't forget to stay tuned for more news on my blog if you want to dig more into the reality show that is the life of this girl, billionaire's son; Zane Rivers and model stroke fashion icon; Serena Davis. I am CeCe Ryder with the truth and nothing but the truth!"
We all shared a look.
"This has got to stop."

How was the chapter?
P.S: The Weblog Awards (Bloggies) was an annual non-profit blog awards that began in 2001. Until its end in 2015, it was the longest running and one of the largest blog awards, with winners determined through internet voting by the public. I know it ended in 2015, but it was the only blog award I knew, but that doesn't even matter. It's a book. I just wanted to clarify and put it out there.
Please vote, comment and share. Thanks and Toodles ;)
