Wait.

Pause.

Stop.

404 not found.

What’s going on here?

What is he doing here?

Is he somehow a teammate with my brother?

How?

Why?

And more importantly, why is he in my apartment?

We all sat at the table, waiting for the food to arrive. Jin and Jungkook were seated beside me, while across from us were Hoseok, Suga, and Jimin.

Why is he sitting directly across from me, practically in my face?

It’s like the universe is mocking me, forcing me to share the same space with the one person I never wanted to see again.

I still can’t believe Hoseok has become an artist. I’m not into K-pop or any other music genre, really. I’ve never cared to explore it, not even for my younger brother. Music just doesn’t hold that charm for me.

But somehow, here we are.

"So, Suga hyung," Jungkook started, grinning mischievously. "We’ve got you another fan here."

I shot him a warning look. Oh, this brat is really testing my patience. I swear, one day, I’ll get him back for all this teasing.

“She doesn’t even know who we are as performers, hyung, but somehow she knows you pretty well,” Jungkook teased, clearly enjoying himself. “Can you believe that, Hobi hyung? She doesn’t even recognize the dancing machine of the industry!”

Ugh. This brat.

"Ah, I’m sorry, guys," I interjected, trying to salvage my image. "It’s not that I don’t appreciate your work. It’s just... I’m not into music. That’s all."

I looked at each of them as I spoke, deliberately avoiding Hoseok’s gaze.

“As for Sugassi," I added quickly, "you’re always featured in interviews, so I just happen to know you as a producer.”

Suga nodded graciously. “That’s an honor, Saerassi. Thank you.”

“I’m just stating facts,” I said flatly, already feeling a wave of unease and annoyance.

Suddenly, Jin burst out laughing—loud, uncontrollable, and contagious.

“Yah, Jungkook-ah!” he managed between laughs. “You’ve got yourself a strong and honest girlfriend. Bravo!”

Excuse me?

Girlfriend?

What?!

"Aniya, hyung! She’s—" Jungkook stammered, but Jimin quickly interrupted him, clapping his hands and laughing.

"Yeah, Kook. We all know she’s your type. You chose wisely this time!"

What the actual hell?

"Excuse me, but—" I tried to speak, but nobody seemed interested in hearing me out.

"I hope he’s treating you well, Saerassi," Jin said with a smirk. "But honestly, I can’t imagine him doing otherwise."

"Hyung!" Jungkook exclaimed, clearly flustered. "She’s not—"

But Hoseok cut him off this time, his voice calm and distant.

“So, you finally got yourself a boyfriend, Saera.” He looked me dead in the eye, his tone almost mocking. “I’m glad to hear that. I guess.”

What?

What did he just say?

"Congratula—"

"CAN YOU ALL JUST SHUT THE HELL UP AND LISTEN TO ME?!" I screamed, the frustration bubbling over. "He’s my younger brother, not my boyfriend! Maybe try listening for once instead of jumping to your own conclusions!"

The room fell silent, and all eyes turned to me, wide with disbelief. Their jaws practically hit the floor.

"And you, Hoseokssi," I said sharply, turning to him. "What do you mean by saying you’re glad I finally got a boyfriend? Who the hell do you think you are?"

Hoseok looked stunned, completely caught off guard.

Good.

I glared at each of them in turn, my patience worn thin.

“Kook," I snapped, turning to my brother. "I’ll be back in an hour. Get your stuff sorted out by then, and I mean everything. I don’t want to see a mess when I return. Am I clear?"

Jungkook nodded meekly. "Yes, noona."

“Good.”

I grabbed my coat, slipped on my shoes, and stormed out of the apartment.

Unbelievable.

Out of all the people in South Korea, why does he have to be in the same band as my brother?

Why does he keep appearing in my life no matter how hard I try to move on?

I clenched my fists, swallowing the lump in my throat as I walked down the street. His words from years ago still echoed in my mind, as sharp and cutting as they had been back then.

I don’t hate Hoseok. But I can’t forgive him, either.

His words broke something in me—something I haven’t been able to repair since.

And now he sits there, acting like nothing ever happened. Acting as if I’m just some stranger.

It’s exhausting.

The world might see him as charming, talented, and kind. But to me? He’ll always be the person who reminded me just how much words can hurt.

I stopped in my tracks, taking a shaky breath.

It’s not about erasing him.

It’s about learning to live with the fact that some people leave scars you can’t ever fully forget.
