BTS Concert Tips
1. Check the website of whatever venue they're performing at ahead of time to check for things like bag requirements (SoFi required clear bags and didn't allow bags in that were larger than a certain size). This will prevent you from having to check in your bag or go back to your car to put it away.
2. Check the weather of the venue the day of the concert. I did the mistake of not doing this and was FREEZING when I was waiting outside after the concert. Granted, I did have a jacket but still was shivering.
3. When bringing your ARMY Bomb, bring backup batteries OR put in brand new batteries right before the concert. This will prevent it from dying in the middle of the concert.
4. Hydrate but not too much. If you're camping out for merch, hydrate in the morning and use the restroom when you get the chance to. If you're not camping out and are arriving later on in the day closer to the concert start time, don't drink too many liquids.
5. Speaking of restrooms, bring toilet paper. I didn't have an issue of not having toilet paper in the restroom but I heard other ARMYs mention in previous concerts that some venues would run out, so just to be safe, bring some.
6. Bring gum or snacks to eat in line. The venue did sell food and there were food vendors outside (there was a McDonalds booth giving out free small fries and a coffee if you had the McDonalds app) but in case future venues don't do this, it's a way to prevent yourself from getting hungry (another option is to get a food delivery service to drop off food for you at the venue).
7. Bring a portable charger. By the end of the concert, I was left at 39% on my phone battery (and my phone battery is in need of service so it would've died if I didn't bring my portable charger). I rarely used my phone before the concert and had charged it to 100% before leaving the hotel room to go. If you plan on waiting in line all day for merch as well, bring 2.
8. Wear comfortable shoes. Lines for EVERYTHING were long and there was a lot of standing/waiting around to get into the venue.
9. Bring everything you need, but don't overpack your bag with things you don't need. There was a lot of freebies being handed out and I was so glad I had room in my bag and big pockets because if I had overpacked, I wouldn't have been able to bring home those freebies.
10. If taking a Rally bus or any sort of "drop off, pick up" transportation, take note of where the transportation will be picking you up when you get dropped off. Some people had a hard time finding their Rally buses.
11. If you're waiting outside while the sun is out, bring an umbrella or hat to shade yourself from the sun.
12. Adding to #11, wear sunscreen.
13. If you're flying to the place where the concert is being held, make sure you check TSA guidelines on what you can/can't bring. The last thing you want is to get held up because of something in your luggage. (Also, don't call the ARMY Bomb an ARMY Bomb. Just say lightstick)
14. If you're lost while looking for your entry number or don't know which line goes where, don't be afraid to ask ARMY. I would say to ask staff but in SoFi's case, a lot of their staff didn't know much. ARMY are always very helpful and kind so if you're lost, they'll easily help you get to where you need to go.
15. If you're going with someone/a group, find a designated spot to meet at if you lose each other before the concert. This way if anyone gets lost, you can find each other quickly even if there's no service/WiFi.
16. If the pandemic is still requiring masks by the time of their next show, keep an extra mask in your pocket or bag. My mask actually broke and I was lucky enough to have a backup in my bag.
17. If you're a newer ARMY like me and they're performing songs from before you became an ARMY, try to take time ahead of the concert to learn the fanchants. The fanchants always encourage the members while they're performing and I noticed when fanchants were loud, their energy was way higher.
18. Have a transportation app downloaded and ready to go in case you miss your ride going back home/to your hotel after the concert. I had the Uber app installed just in case the bus were to leave without me.
19. Sync your ARMY Bomb to your seat BEFORE getting to the venue. I did it at my hotel and it was really easy when following the instructions that the video BTS uploaded. The app can drain your phone battery pretty quickly which is why I did that.
20. HAVE FUN. Enjoy yourself, let yourself live in the moment at the concert. Make new ARMY friends if you want to, sing as loud as you want to, dance as much as you want to. Let yourself enjoy the concert and escape from all of your worries during the time they're performing.
I hope these tips help all of you when your time comes to see the members perform live. Every ARMY deserves to see BTS perform at least once in their lifetime.
Let me know if you have any questions about my experience or about any of the tips I provided above.
I purple you
Kim 💜
