Shubham Srivastava

Hey folks!

I am here with an interview of a young and awesome writer shubhamsrstv

THANKS A LOT FOR THE INTERVIEW

Bold font : Kiruthi

Simple font : Shubham

1. What is your real name (Optional)? Where are you from (Optional)?

My real name is Shubham Srivastava and my hometown is Varanasi, but I am currently living in Bangalore for job.

2. Are you a student or an employee or a full time writer?

I work as a software developer in a company.

3. What is the thing that inspired you to write?

Like every other kid, I always had the thing to imagine any situation in my own version. A version where everything goes as what I want and everytime I was the hero of that story. Later, the thought came across my mind that let's pen it down in more dramatic way to feel good. And that is how I started writing, for my own satisfaction.

4. What is the genre of books you want to write in future? Why?

Currently I have only written humor genre with motivational messages. But in future, I want to explore writing action stories. It always excites me as a writer, because creating an action in movies is easy because you have visuals there. But while writing, it is challenging.

5. When did you start to write?

I wrote my first story when I was in class 10. I used to write only and only for myself. I wrote it in my Chinese mobile I had then. Then during one boring tuition lecture, one of my friends asked my mobile to play game. I handed him the phone and by mistake he read that story. After the lecture, he gave me the feedback and told that he loved that story. Then from that day, everyday I used to write one story in a piece of paper only for my one reader. He used to read them during tuition breaks and provide me feed backs to where to improve, what was good, etc.

This is how I started writing.

6. Are they any changes you have seen in yourself after you started to write? If yes, what are the changes?

A lot. My complete writing style has improved. And special thanks to @Disguisedthoughts, I have improved my vocabulary as well. Earlier my stories didn't had this much of humor too, neither I had good endings. But more practice in writing made it good.

7. What is the first comment you received after publishing your first draft? Do you remember the person you gave you that comment?

I don't remember the exact user or the exact words, it is around one and half month ago. But I remember that it was an appreciating comment, that reader had loved the story because I remember myself smiling and blushing like an idiot.

8. How did you get to know about wattpad? Were you an author before writing in wattpad?

I earlier used to write stories on Wordpress and few quotes or poems on Instagram. Then I closed those accounts and was focused to write for a book to publish, but I wanted to test my stories in front of some real audience, so I searched for writing platforms, and kids, this is how I met your Wattpad!!!

9. What are the genres you prefer to read? Why?

I like to read humor. It lights my mood. That doesn't mean that I hate other genres, but if your story has humor and good comedy scenes, then probability of me finishing the story reading is high.

10. What are the genres you don't prefer to read? Why?

Fan fiction. I have seen this pattern here on Wattpad only. And I felt very confused and irritated while reading them. It maybe because I am not the fan of those celebrities or maybe I am not much aware of their lifestyles.

11. Is there any book that changed your life? If so what is it and how it changed your life?

NCERT books helped me to pass my board exams, which helped me to get college and then a job which improved my life financially. Hahaha!!! Well, the books of Chetan Bhagat actually helped me as a writer to structure my stories.

12. Have you ever thought that you will write book of your own?

I wanted too. I had a dream of writing my own book, atleast one, but my own. I always wanted to have a photo of myself holding a book which have words on it as "written by Shubham Srivastava". But then I got busy in job and everything, but recently I thought to complete my this dream as a resolution of the year 2020.

13. What is the character that you can relate yourself from one of your books?

I have a story named as "Wake up call", there is a character named "Baba". He is crazy, funny, stupid, yet emotional with some good understanding of life and love to help his best friend.

I am the Baba.

14. What would you like to do when you are not writing?

These days, I am doing everything but not writing. Usually scrolling on internet, office works, getting scolded by parents for not bathing, creating plots for my upcoming story, etc.

15. What do you think makes a good story?

I always believed that everyone has a story to tell. Some stories bring smile on your lips, some brings tears in your eyes. If a story is not hitting you emotionally, then I guess it is still hiding something.

16. What were the key challenges you faced when writing your first book?

English. Grammar. Uff!!!

I still face this problem but comparatively less now.

17. If you write your autobiography anytime in future what would be the first and last line of your book? What will be the title of your autobiography?

Wow!!! This is interesting. I never thought of this.

My first line should be - This story is of a boy who came to this world with no privilege.

My last line should be - This story was of a boy who left this world by achieving what he always wanted.

The title should be - The story of a story teller, Shubham Srivastava.

(Impressive answer)

18. Did you get any friends through wattpad?

A lot, seriously. They would have never got a chance to meet a great personality like me without this wattpad. And also, I would have missed the chance to explore the new creatures. Hahaha!!!

But I explored many talents here and had great conversations with many of them here. And this friendship expanded till Instagram too. I am having good time here.

19. What is the best part of being a writer?

Creating your own world, where you are the hero of your own world. And, the appreciation of the readers are the best thing.

20. Do you have any message for your readers?

Firstly, Thank you so much for your appreciation, support and love.

Also, if you find any flaws in my story, any error in grammar, any suggestions to improve my writing skills or the plot of the story. Please feel free to provide your constructive feedback, it will help a writer a lot.
