This is my interview with vampirexchild

They have 1.51k followers at the moment and 14 published works including I'm There, Baby which is a Frerard that has 70k reads.

1. You have been on this site for two years according to your page. Have you been actively writing this entire time and if so do you still enjoy it as much as you did when you started?

Well, when I first downloaded the Wattpad app, it was with the intention of writing actually and I didn't expect to get any reads or followers, it was just for the thrill of writing something.

I have been writing since then, although they were all very bad original stories that weren't very planned out, I didn't know what a proper plot twist was, it was overall messy and I kept deleting books. I was young and I didn't have a large train of thought, all I wanted was adventure.

For a long period of time, I just wasn't happy with my writing at all and even though people read my stuff, I didn't have a whole lot of confidence until probably the middle of last year shortly after I started writing fanfiction.

I've always loved writing, but I love it even more now and I find it even more enjoyable now that I know I have more confidence in my writing skills and that people actually wait for my updates and such, it really makes me feel complete. I'd say the journey and struggle were worth it.

2. What did it feel like to hit 1k followers?

Oh boy, I'll be honest with you, I didn't really keep track of my followers before I hit 1k until I started getting really close and my friends were counting down how many I had left like it was New Years or something. I did feel really excited but I also kept questioning why so many people wanted to follow me.

When I finally hit the mark, I believe I didn't see it until the morning, that was such a wonderful sight to wake up to. I've never been one to wish for a certain amount of followers because I always thought it was the feedback on the books that counted, but I felt a rush of happiness the moment I hit the number and I continue to feel that as the number is still getting higher.

It feels nice to have more people responding to my message board messages when before I rarely got replies, it really makes me believe that people do care on some level and I greatly appreciate that.

3. Would you like to one day work on getting a book published or do you write more for fun?

My lifetime goal has always been to get a book published. Ever since I was 7 I knew that writing was what I was supposed to do with my life and I still feel that way, without writing I feel like my life would be pointless. Every one of my friends when I was smaller wanted to be models or fashion stylists, I was the shy dorky girl who wanted to be the next big author with books as huge as the Twilight series. I still am that girl.

I've met with a publisher before, but she was my aunt's friend who I happened to meet. I showed her a section of an original book I'm writing (my secret side project) and she actually told me I have the potential to become an author if I send it into a company and to contact her if I ever finish my book.

As of now, I'm totally reconstructing the book to make it better, I'm building my dream right now and it feels so good to do that. On here, I do write for fun and for people, I don't think Frerard could get published, hahaha. I'm kind of sad I can't write porn in real life though or else my family will be very disappointed in me.

4. Where do you get your inspiration to write from?

I get my inspiration from so many places and books. Even movies and such. But I am sort of obsessed with Gothic and romantic literature, I like combining the two of them.

I remember learning more about that sort of literature in class one day and I was absolutely enthralled by the macabre and how serious the romance is. I was captivated and I knew that I needed to write more of that or else I couldn't call myself a writer.

I'm also inspired by fables and fairy tales, but not so much the kids versions, I like the darker more twisty ones that you'll never see in the hands of a child. I do my own thing with them. I feel like fantasy is the best thing for me to write about because of how much of a toll it's taken on my childhood and my entire life as it is, it brings me all kinds of inspiration whether it's to write or to draw, it's like a fuel for me and my imagination. I like challenging myself to write a kind of fairytale that isn't exactly like the rest.

Tim Burton also fuels my creativity, god, I wish I had an imagination like that man. I grew up with his films. At one point I drew Gerard as Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas but you'll never be seeing that...haha.

5. Do you have a book of yours that you would recommend for people not sure where to start?

Okay, well, if you stumble across my profile and can't choose what to read first, please read Tale As Old As Time. I know there's only about 11 chapters or 12, but it's the best thing I have. It's based off of Beauty And The Beast but it's one of my fairy tale twist stories and I think you'll quite enjoy the rather dark path I sent it down starting from the very beginning.

It's what I'm really proud of at the moment and though I'm sad I'm almost finished with it, I could still enjoy it if you select that book first, you could see that book is the point where my writing has developed and improved and where I discovered which writing style is the best choice for me.

6. You mostly write Frerard, so how did you first get into that ship?

Ah, the Frerard story. Haha. Well it goes way more back than people would expect, I just never shipped it so hard until a while ago. I guess it was always floating around in my phone and in the back of my dirty mind.

Before when I was going through my hardcore emo phase and I thought wearing one million Black Veil Brides bracelets was cool, I saw a video about the Frerard kiss on stage and I exploded because I had never seen anything like that before, and second, I thought they were actually together. Joke's on me though, right? I was 12 or 13, I didn't listen to MCR as much, I just thought Gerard always acted gay so it kind of confirmed it for me.

Well I downloaded a few pictures but got over it really quickly, I just listened to the music and forgot about it for a long while. And then - it resurfaced when I got deeper into the MCR fandom. I believe I saw a lyric video for Leathermouth on YouTube first and looked up the singer, then I found out it was Frank. I went to see a couple of pictures and I literally felt my heart start hammering away because my inner fangirl was going nuts, he's just so...good looking.

One thing led to another, I became MCR trash, and I found Frerard again on the internet. That's when I found the fanfiction links that led to Wattpad, I thought that was convenient since I already had the app. I clicked on one, I believe it was a smut challenge, I can't remember who it was by because it got deleted sadly. I got sucked in, I read Theater 12, then I believe I read Tell Me I'm An Angel (yours, Starr, it's still the best thing ever) and that's when I collapsed and fell into the rabbit hole. I'm still in there, I'm not getting out though. The smut is great.

7. Do you have any other ships you enjoy but haven't written about yet?

I actually don't ship much enough to write about it, but I would really love to write a Ryden fanfiction. I adore Ryan Ross even though I'm too busy fussing over Frank to show that, I would love to write him out as a little character who's head over heels for Brendon.

I've only read a couple Ryden fanfics, I have a reading list for it, and I really like what I see. I've considered writing a collab fic of it with my boyfriend but we still need to talk more about that, I'm excited about it. Although I'm a little afraid to do it because I'm used to Frerard, but there's a first time for everything.

8. If you could be one of the characters you have written for a day who would you choose and why?

Ah, that's a tough question. I tend to do bad things to my characters and I cause them pain (I also cause my readers pain, uh, sorry?). Well, if I had to choose, I'd probably be Frank in my oneshot called "Beautiful" in my oneshot book. If you haven't read that, Frank is a photographer just searching for inspiration until he finds Gerard and it's kind of a love at first sight thing.

I would be him because he's so sweet and loveable with his little camera and his nervous hands, he also gets to make out with Gerard and take nice photographs of him wearing angel wings, that is living the life for me. Oh, and nothing bad happens to him either!

9. Any advice for someone new to Wattpad who is considering starting their own book?

If you're new and want to start a book, my advice to you is to let your creativity shine. Show everyone what you've got in that amazing imagination of yours, write to your heart's desire and never fear the judgment of others because there will be people who will try and bring you down, there will be people who write comments that are really rude, but there will also be the people who embrace your work and anticipate your updates.

Show off your talent, write what you love about to get started with and maybe you'll want to stick around for a while. Writing is an amazing creative outlet, use it to your advantage and just be yourself, being yourself will bring more people to you.

10. What has been your best moment on Wattpad so far?

My best moment on Wattpad so far...to be honest, I've had many great moments on here, I can't choose just one. I've met so many amazing people, seen so many kind comments, I've read great books and reached a high amount of followers.

But if I had to choose, it would be the moment where I was looking through all my books and really letting it sink in that they have a lot of reads, people are really enjoying my works and saving them in their libraries, adding them to their reading lists, voting and leaving the sweetest comments.

I love everyone so much and I always try to spread positivity to make them feel happy in return, I would have left Wattpad long ago if it weren't for all the lovely people helping get my fanfictions to where they are now. I'm grateful and I always will be.

Thank you for having me, Starr, I enjoy doing these interviews so much and I had a great time answering them.

I hope you enjoyed my interview with the lovely vampirexchild

Don't forget to comment suggestions for other authors I should feature next.

Love you all xxx
