Ever since the owner of the shop had decided to move the products around,I had been tasked with restocking the top shelves and the step ladder I'm standing on isn't very safe. I had told the boss about it,but she had just told me to do my job and stop complaining so much. So here I am standing on a wobbly ladder, filling the shelf with boxes of shortbread. With Christmas only a few weeks away,the sale of biscuits had gone up so more of them are needed often. That and alcohol too.

I had to get a new box down from the top shelf,I'm tall enough to reach it normally but since the box is further back I'm going to have to stand on the top rung of the ladder. I carefully made my way to the top of the ladder,and it wobbled worse than even. But I have my job to do,I steadied the ladder as best I could and then reached for the box. And as soon as I did the ladder gave way beneath me and I fell towards the floor. Only I didn't hit the floor but fell into strong arms instead,I looked at my saviour and see that he is a very handsome man with chocolate brown eyes and dark hair.

"Are you alright miss?" The man asked
"Y-yes I'm fine, thanks to you" I said,the man smiles and said
"I couldn't very well stand by as beautiful woman had a nasty fall" the man said,I felt the blood rush to my face. The man then put me back onto my feet,as I took him in I noticed he is wearing what is no doubt an expensive dark blue suit and black over coat
"May I know the name of my hero?" I asked, before the man answered the voice of my boss interrupted
"L/n what the heck are you doing?" She said walking over to us" Why are you bothering a customer?"

"I wasn't bothering him,I..." I tried to say
"I don't need your excuses" my boss said
"Actually the lady is telling the truth" the man said to my boss,my boss then turned to him
"Don't bother sticking up for..." But then she saw who he is " Mr Mikaelson I didn't see you there"
Mikaelson why does that name sound familiar to me,I thought
"...from what I can see ,that was a very unsafe ladder" the man called Mr Mikaelson is telling my boss
"I will replace it with a better one immediately" my boss said before hurrying off.

"Thanks for that,my boss doesn't like me very much" I said
"Think nothing of it Miss?" The man said
"Y/n L/n" I told him
"Elijah Mikaelson" the man said
"Wait Mikaelson,as in the family that made New Orleans?" I asked
"The same" Elijah said
"Wow no wonder my boss was so nice" I said
"Yes my family have been in New Orleans for over 1000 years" Elijah said" Perhaps if you would like,you could join me at my family home for dinner and I can tell you more about this town?"
Wait this guy just saved my life and now he is asking me to dinner,it must be my lucky day.
"Id love to."
