An Omen of Death
Henrik
"I know you are here for me Lorian," I kissed Lorian after the words left my lips. I shoved Lorian into the wall, lips still on him.
"Henrik?!" I heard a familiar voice. I broke the kiss and turned to look into my mate's eyes. Oh Goddess, no! What have I done?
"Addicus!? No! No, no, no, why now! Addicus, I-" I was panicking. Addicus's eyes turned a golden brown, the eyes of his wolf.
"HE'S MINE!" Addicus roared.
"Addicus, you know?" I gave a small smile.
"Alpha, I don't think Addicus can hear you," Lorian said. I heard bones snapping.
"Goddess, he's shifting! Get out of here right the fuck now, Lorian!" I roared.
"MINE!" Addicus said right before she shifted into his wolf.
"LORIAN! LOOK OUT!" I shouted right before I shifted to defend my beta. I felt wolf claws digging into my skin, and everything went black.
I woke up in my pack infamy with my sister sitting in a chair reading a magazine. "Marian?" I said.
"You fucking stupid dumbass. What the fuck were you thinking?" Marian said, throwing her magazine at me. "Lorian told Jessie what happened, then he told me. You were kissing Lorian when Addicus arrived?! What in the world were you thinking, kissing another man that wasn't your mate?"
"I don't know what I was thinking, and I regret it. Addicus was shifting in rage, and he was going to kill my beta and possibly other wolves. I had to step in," I winced in pain. Ugh, my sides are burning.
"The moment you got injured, I felt the pain, Henrik; thank god you are hard to kill because I was planning to kill you myself for being so stupid," Marian seethed in rage while tears were falling from her eyes. "Now, you better hope that Jessie has calmed Addicus down and explained everything to him AND that he comes here to see you because if he doesn't, may the Goddess have mercy on your soul," Marian walked out of the recovery room. I can hear the faint screams of frustration that Marian is doing.
Pregnancy has heightened her anger and annoyance at me. And I deserved every single word she said. What I did was dumb. How could I make it up to Addicus?
I drifted towards slumber and rested while my wolf started healing my body. After a couple of hours, I heard a gasp. "Oh goddess, what have I done?" I listened to a sweet voice before I opened my eyes.
"Addicus?" I smiled. "Don't worry, it's just a scratch, no need to worry,"
"Not just a scratch, Alpha Shephard. If you're healing faster than normal wolves do, and after the whole pack hospital heard Luna Marian scream her lungs out at you a few hours ago, I will advise you not to antagonize your sister," the nurse said. "Goddess, you two will send me to an early grave. Speaking as a medical nurse, rest!"
The nurse left my recovery room and me alone with Addicus, who looked very guilty about everything. "Henrik, why can you heal quicker, the nurse mentioned that you can heal quicker then other wolves?"
"A perk of being the Moon's Warrior, and being an Pure Blooded Alpha," I smiled.
"Henrik, I'm so sorry," Addicus said. "It looks really bad,"
"I don't say this to make you feel worse than what you already do, but my wounds have already begun healing since I got knocked out. Plus, Marian is near so the closer she is to me, the quicker I will heal when she's not adding to my bruises that is," I chuckled.
"What do mean by that?" Addicus said.
"Let's just say that my twin sister has a temper, and it doesn't help that her pregant either," I crossed my arms. "I also want to say I'm sorry for-"
"No, I had no right to be angry. You haven't claimed me, marked me, or anything. You weren't betraying me," Addicus said. "It's just...my wolf and I weren't expecting to see that,"
"Please, forgive me for that," I breathed deeply.
"Already forgiven. Mirage told me that you are my fated mate. I'm sorry, Henrik, that it's taken me so long," Addicus said.
"It's alright, I didn't want to push you. Now, I'm pretty healed up, so I'm going to be leaving," I said,
"So you leave? Are you sure that you won't be overrun with nurses and doctors trying to pina nd scrap you down to this bed?" Addicus asked.
"I'm the Alpha; I can leave whenever I want. I can also use my Alpha Voice to command them to stand down, but I hardly ever use it. I think I haven't used it in years," I said. "On second thought, I would wait until the wound heals enough for the skin to close over,"
"May I, keep you company, Alpha?" Addicus purred.
"I'd love that," I smiled.
Marian
Jessie and I watched as Garland and her mate Desmond. I thought about Jessie and how he became a hybrid; if we were to impregnate me again, would our baby be a born hybrid? I would say yes because those bastards killed Jessie to change him. But now, I'm just happy that Jessie is alive, and I will love him no matter what he has become after I made a vow: Til Death Do Us Part.
"Garland, I thought you were about to return to Russia?" I said.
"I was about to board, but then I had a vision and another. I had so many visions assaulting me at once that I passed out. But they didn't stop once I passed out; they continued, and I started seizing," Garland explained.
"I have never been so terrified in my life," Desmond said.
"Then I woke and told Desmond that I'm pregnant," Garland smiled and touched her stomach.
"BY THE GODDESS, SHUT UP!" I screamed with delight.
"What a pregnancy reveal huh," Desmond chuckled. "Garland was still out of it,"
"What were the visons about?" I asked.
"The end," Garland said. What the fuck.
"The end?" Jessie cocked his head to the side.
"The end of a supernatural kind as we know it, some development changed the tide for them, the hunters. If they are not stopped, they will win, and it will be the end of us," Garland said.
"Shit," Jessie said.
"It has everything to do with you, Jessie; you're now a hybrid. I can smell the change in you; I can see your damn fangs. What happened to you isn't natural, and it's a sin against Mother Nature, a sin against the Moon Goddess. She didn't make you, you were made by someone else," Garland explained.
"Hey, I didn't ask be made," Jessie scoffed.
"The Goddess knows this, Jessie, and she doesn't blame you or hold anything against the female hybrid, Mirage," Garland smiled. "The Goddess weeps for you and what was done to the two of you. She showed me her warning, at what these hunters are doing by playing God and I'm here to make sure we end these fuckers for good and save our world,"
"It's good to have you here, Garland, and congratulations on the baby," Jessie smiled, but Garland gave a small smile.
"You don't look happy," I said.
"Don't mind that Marian, Garland is being sooky. We're wolves, it was bound to happen sooner or later," Desmond winked.
"I didn't even know if I wanted pups, Desmond," Garland snapped.
"Well too bad, you and it's mine. My pup, my mate, my family," Desmond tried smooth talking.
"Your smooth-talking skills need a lot of work," Garland chuckled as she embraced him.
"I don't know. Have you seen how melted you are against me?" Desmond kissed Garland's forehead.
"I'm just tired, the baby is taking my energy,"
"Sure," Desmond said unconvinced. "Come one, let's go to our room so you and our baby can get some rest," Desmond guided Garland back inside my house to rest.
"Jessie, I think they are going to make great parents," I said.
"Of a single pup? What a nightmare," Jessie laughed.
"Not everyone what to birth their own pack you know," I said sarcasticly.
"I will die by that hill, Marian," Jessie pointed towards the hill near the packhouse. "I want as many pups as you'll give me. I love you, I love our daughter, Hazel, I love this babe in your belly, and I will love every single child that comes from this blessed womb, and it will never be empty as long as I shall live. I will fill your womb with my seed and make sure you get pregnant again and again,"
"Just kiss and fuck me already," I moaned.
