Triple-Slashers, A.KA Floof Lords
Triple-Slashers
Description: Similiar to Rainwings, their skin can and will change colours. Three prehensile tails with small wasp-like stingers on the end. Parrot like back feet for grasping objects with. Webbed talons and sails that help with swimming. Claws, spines, horns, teeth and stingers are metallic grey to silver, getting more metallic as the dragon ages. Branching horns that crackle with electricity when the dragon feels overwhelmed, enraged and excited. Bioluminescent patches that contain a special bioluminescent bacteria that glows when subjected to electrical pulses. Transparent, soft, conductive and water-poof piqnofibres cover the entirety of the dragon's body. Sails can be folded into the piqnofibres when not in use. Eyes have a transparent eyelid that protects the eyes and allows the dragon to see underwater. Their wings have four claws at the position of the arm, acts like a hand to grasp objects and to aid with walking. They have small gill that can help with breathing underwater. Triple-Slasher, unlike most tribes make relatively more feline noises like purrs and cat-like hisses over roars and growls and their voice are generally more high pitch and dragonet-sounding as then other tribes.
Abilities: Triple-Slashers are strongly built dragons with strong, whip-like tails and wings that they use to grapple opponents. They have a set of viper-like fangs that can store venom and release it in streams of venom or through the tried and test method of biting. They also have two venom sac on the sides of the lower jaw, similar to the Gila Monster, they bite to release the sleep-inducing venom that seeps into the target's wounds. Their three tails each contain enough a small but potent venom that is different between tails. The right tail injects a venom that induces severe pain and inflammation. The middle tail injects a deadly venom that causes the target to suffocate. The left tail contains a venom that causes paralysis in the target within minutes. Have organs that produce electricity that is stored throughout the body, primarily the horns, sail, wings and tails. Their skin produces a poisonous cocktail which effects depends on the toxins they ingest as well as pheromones. When threaten, angry or at will, a Triple-Slasher can use their electricity to boost their muscle performance, which improves speed, strength and reflexes, causing their piqnofibres to stand on end, crackling with electricity, though they can only do this for a limited amount of time before they need to recharge, they can also take electricity from their surroundings, often flying in thunderstorms to absorb the lightning. They can fire bolts of lightning from their jaws & tails and electrical discharges from their bodies and horns. They are also naturally highly-resistant and immune to several different types of toxins, such as the poison of the Gympie-Gympie plant and the venom of the Dragonbite Vipers. Some have also mastered a form of hypnosis using their bioluminescent patches to stun and put opponents into a trance.
Weaknesses: Their piqnofibres are highly flammable and without them, the Triple-Slasher's electricity is less effective when used. When charging their electrical attacks, a few of their spines or horns will crackle with electricity signifying that they are close to a full charge, when hit with blunt forces or shot, this creates a discharge that can stun, knock out or send flying the Triple-Slasher and other creatures in the discharge's radius. Their gill can also dry out (especially in Coastal Triple-Slasher) which can lead to cracking of the gills. Due to the lack of scales, Triple-Slasher are more vulnerable to attacks, making them prone to scarring, which prevents the area from changing colours. They bioluminescent patchers can't change colours and relies on the piqnofibres to make them match with the surroundings. Making them less effective in highly detailed environments like forests or coral reefs. They also require a lot a energy (high metabolism), a triple-slasher can at most survive a week without food before their bodies start deteriorating their muscles and start killing them. They can "Overcharge" which means that they have absorbed too much electricity for they bodies to handle, causing discharges, if a triple-slasher doesn't expel the excess electricity in time, they will be placed unconscious or possibly die. If their spines or horns are broken, this will disrupt their electricity's flow, causing random flares and discharges when they use it, giving them less control over it and causing short-circuiting.
Diet: Despite being omnivorous, Triple-Slashers are separated by their primary habitats (Coastal and Mountainous), their diets being heavily influenced by their environment. Mountainous Triple-Slashers as the name suggests live in the primarily in The Cloud Mountains, The Rainforest and a few areas of Jade Mountain, they mainly eat a variety of vegetation like fruit, roots, bark and etc, though they will still add meat to the menu when the option arises, an example is when a flock of Triple-Slashers find a carcasses which they will scavenge from. Coastal Triple-Slashers on the other hand live in the waters of the mainland and on the coast where they feed primarily on sea life like sharks, fishes and crustaceans. They will substitute their diet with algae, seaweed and kelp when the opportunity arises, though. Ragnorakic Triple-Slashers are omnivores, they mainly live in the pine forests of Ragnorak where they eat vegetation and animals. They are also found on the ice sheets where they primarily feed on seal, penguins and beluga with other sea creatures on the menu when the opportunity arrives. Then, the Triple-Slasher in the Fjord primarily eat fish and land animals, often attacking settlements of Southern Scavengers, Dwarves and the many small predators found in the area. However, all Triple-Slashers seek out metal deposits which they eat to add the metals to their horns, claws and spines to improve their durability, conductivity of electricity and sharper. The Mountainous variety also has a sweet tooth and often steal honey from bees or ferment plants to make sweet beverages.
Social structure: Triple-Slasher are extremely social and family-oriented, spending nearly their entire lives in large flocks of 20 or more members (before The Grim was founded of course). The leader of these flocks would be the oldest and wisest female (matriarchal structure) of the group, who's role will be to protect and help provide for the flock. The flock usually consists of two or more different families who spread out the responsibilities of rearing young, protecting against threats, gathering resources and home making among themselves. While Triple-Slashers are usually nomadic, they will set up caverns, large tree canopies, coral reefs and etc, as homes when they eventually travel back. On the occasion, the young adults of the flock will leave for other flocks to start a new life as one would put it. These transfers are often strategic to ensure good relations with other flocks. Triple-Slashers have also been known to "adopt" or accept dragons from different tribes into their flocks and treat them just like another Triple-Slasher.
Lifecycle: It takes a year for the egg to hatch, during which the egg is looked after by its parents in a nest made from the shedding and foliage. When hatched, the dragonets are bone white and very fluffy, their bioluminescent sacs don't have the bioluminescent bacteria, they lack poison and have little venom in their tails and jaws. The parents will send jolts of electricity through the dragonet to startup their electrical organs. The young is then introduced to the bacteria and poisons through the parent and older family member's milk-like fluids. For the first 20 years of their lives, the young are trained by the family group until their have grown up into juveniles. At aged 45, males reach sexual maturity while female mature at 50 years of age. At which point they can have children of their own.
Relations with other tribes: Since Triple-Slasher live in most areas of the continent, they are pretty friendly with other tribes. They are famous for their friendship with Cavern Guards, Northern Impalers, Skywings, Rainwings, Brain-Hunters, Trenchwings and Seawings. They were however, enemies with Death Serpents (Death Serpents treat other dragons like Triple-Slashers with a general disrespect), Icewings (Hates how different Triple-Slashers are from them and the fact that they will hunt the scarce animals of the Ice Kingdom), Sandwings (Same as the Icewings) and Thunder-horns (Being sister tribes, Thunderhorns and Triple-Slashers share a lot of things in common with each other, like dietary needs, thus they compete for food and space on the regular prior to the Scorching). Though as the Scorching ended they joined The Grim, which cut them off from the Rainwing, Skywing and Seawing tribes as the megatribe went underground. Ragnorakic Triple-Slashers are however, not apart of Pyrrhia, only native to Ragnorak, an icy wasteland in the Southern Hemisphere. But they are less social, forming into groups of 20 max and are more hostile to other tribes, through they have a strained relationship with the Mountain Dwarves, Fjord Dwarves, Giant Cavern Centipedes, Blizzard-Riders and Southern Polar-Impalers. They are however, enemies with the Rip-Claws, Pine Wolves, Tundra Wunder Wolves, Frost Spike Doom Snakes and Avalanche-Riders. They however have an odd relationship with a small megatribe; The King's Shield, located in Ragnorak and in the southern most island in the Isle of Doom.
Sub-classes: Triple-Slasher have a total of three sub classes; The Mountainous, The Coastal and The Ragnorokic Triple-Slashers. These three group have several distinct features that make them different from one another; like Coastal have bigger, more streamline gills, larger sails, more crocodile-like tails. They have better vision underwater, able to see more in the dark, have the more effective gills that the other subspecies and are better swimmers. Though they aren't the best flyers and aren't as comfortable on land with gills that dry out more frequently and having eyes that are sensitive to bright sunlight. Mountainous have large stronger wings, smaller sails and more metallic horns, claws and spines. They are the fastest and the most agile of the three, able to compete with Skywing in the air with their agility and lightning, they are however, they less poisonous than the other two groups and aren't that good at swimming. Ragnorakics have longer, denser, more insulating piqnofibres to withstand the chilling temperatures of Ragnorak and more serrated claws. They are also less social compared to the other subspecies. Their poisons are the most potent of the three, though their electrical powers are weaker than Coastal and Mountainous, as well as overheating easier that the other two.
Sister tribes: The Triple-Slasher tribe is closest related to Thunderhorns; they basically have the same abilities but Thunderhorns have longer more elaborate and prevalent horns, a single blade like tail and have more metallic looking claws. It is also believed that they shared a common ancestor that was closely related to their second closest relative; the Rainwings. Though the jury is still out on whether or not they are related to Skywing as the commonly held belief that Rainwings were descended from Skywings is questionable at best.
-How was the bio?
Did you enjoy it?
Was it too wordy?
Anyhow, thanks for reading! 😊
This is the first proper bio I did, so I hope it informative, especially if you want to get an adopted Triple-Slasher in the future.
Bye for now,
Singetail
Ps: The next one will be about Thunderhorns.
