Maurice's eyes opened as small slivers of light leaked into his window, he had felt pain being inflicted upon him by the people in the past who had taken care of him... this hadn't been the first town he's been to nor has it been the first time he's been taken into other's arms

he sat up quietly as topaz eyes watched him with a gentle gaze, he remembered never aging with the other kids he grew up with, he remembered them being afraid when they found out that he wasn't mortal, many times they had either abandoned him or tried harming him, yet there was only one family who had taken care of him till the day they had died

They were an young couple, but they were unable to have kids, but oh they adored him, yet he had watched them age and die, sometimes he he could have aged with them, and felt normal like he had when he was... truly alive... yet now, all he felt was a hollowness deep inside

he stood from the bed that had been made for him, he knew what the ones who cared for him were, Shadow was a vampire, his origins were tragic, the woman he loved killed by hunters because he and his huntress had gone out for a feed... yet they had been cornered and she was ash by morning light. Eclipse a wolf, he had been an alpha once, his pack had been murdered in cold blood by a band of thieving imps, that had later fed on the wolves carcasses. As for Mephilies and Malice... He had heard many stories of them as a youngling, but as he now knew... Many of those stories weren't true... But the important ones were, as they were gods of darkness and time, and their Sister Iblis was of destruction, he had heard their story long ago in the war of the gods, their sister had fallen in battle and they remained

Maurice didn't know many spells, but he knew the ones that counted, he did it with everyone he met, a spell that shows him who people really are, despite the masks people use to hid themselves, he had made his bed before leaving the room and quietly walking downstairs and walking into an argument between the two wolves, Eclipse was growling as Fleetway's glaring eyes were trained on the other, yet he attention was on Scourge... the witch... he was older than the last time he had seen the witch, yet he was still far younger than he

A sudden ringing in his ears made him stop in place by the kitchen table as he stared at the closed and curtained window, then he heard the soft whispers that would call to him, eager for him to return to the land of the dead as his soul begged to be put to rest, he knew he wasn't meant to be here, he knew that this feeling will remain with him until the day the death Silver would have received takes him, until then nothing would be able to kill him without dire consequences

"Maurice" He was snapped out of his trance as he looked up at Malice who stood in front of him, yet he offered a small smile as he spoke

"I suppose there isn't much point in saying i don't know who you are" Maurice smiled a smile that never reached his dull eyes, the man before him offered a slightly confused look as Scourge gave a small grin and light chuckle

"Guess you still use magic ay Blue, in particular your favourite spell, too bad it's far too strong for a witch to use, i'd love knowing everyones dark little secret" Scourge smirked

"Not all of them are dark, that darkest one i've seen in a long time is what happened to Eclipse's pack" Maurice said, only then did the jokes that Scourge had end as everyone froze "Then again what happened to Shadow could be portrayed as dark as well, but none of it is my place to tell, besides no ones too special as i do it to everyone i meet, including you little pet Scourge"

"How do you know anything about what happened to my pack" Eclipse muttered there was distant look in his eyes as his attention was drawn away from Fleetway

"It's a seeing spell he uses" Scourge answered "He wasn't allowed to use it before everything happened, since it reveals who you truly are, it shows him what is hidden behind any mask, and it shows him things that not another soul knows, and Fleetway isn't my pet you little Bitch" 

"I mean... I don't mind being a pet" Fleetway smirked but received a slap in the face, Shadow remained silent as a dark shroud over came him and a pain in his chest

"I know what you all are" Maurice suddenly spoke up in the silence "But... I'm not entirely alive... I heard Scourge last night telling you all what i am... but... that's not the full story... I died that night... I saw what was really on the other side... theres nothing waiting there, but it's an echo of silence in my head that is always going to remain there..."

"Why did you never mention any of this before?" Mephilies asked, watching the small blue hedgehog carefully

"the same reason you never told me what you were, to be safe, i have been hurt before by people taking care of me in the past because of what i am, I can't stay dead until i reach the tipping point of my brothers time, i'll be here until that time comes, and i can't do anything about it, i'm afraid of it, because the moment i die... Silver is lost..."
