So without further ado, the chapter-

That makes sense." She spoke so softly and it was only then when she smiled that Justin felt himself unravel. The control he had tried to keep disappeared within a fraction of a second as he leaned forward swiftly, grabbing the back of her head gently and pressing his lips softly against her own.

If she opposed him, she didn't show it. Rather, it was the opposite. She tensed for a split second before her shoulders relaxed and she moved her lips against his own. If there even a slight nanometer of control left in Justin, it was destroyed immediately at her response and he buried his hand deep into her soft hair. His other hand rested against her cheek, tilting her face so he could have more of her- her heat and the sound of her breathing. He kissed her until all thought was forgotten, until her eyes had dried up and all she could smell was his icy scent.

Then suddenly, as though hit by a hot poker, she pushed at his chest, moving him away with wide eyes.

"Oh my g- we shouldn't have- I shouldn't have done that." She stuttered out through heavy breaths, and- just as he opened his mouth to speak- she quickly stood up and ran to the door.

Justin's POV from when he meets Raven first time after the kiss

"You're rocking your leg."

Justin turned as Aaron moved in to sit next to him, placing two red cups on the table in front of them. If it weren't for Justin's sharp hearing, he wouldn't have heard his words over the loud blaring of music that played as teenagers danced around them. But, he did hear it and he raised a dark eyebrow, looking to Aaron with a deadpan look.

"Is that observation supposed to mean something to me?" He asked dryly, tone devoid of emotion. If he was talking to someone else, they may have been offended at his cold tone or expression, but not Aaron. No, they had known each other for a decade now; they knew each other more than anyone else ever could. Whilst Justin was adept at handling Aaron's heated temper and impulsive decisions, Aaron was skilled in being able to read Justin's emotionless face and handle his cold words. They truly were a match like no other.

So, it wasn't too surprising for Justin when Aaron's lips quirked into a teasing smile as he lounged back into the armchair, placing one leg up so the side of his ankle was resting on his knee.

"No, it's nothing. I was just thinking the rocking leg was a system error or something. Thought I'd be a good friend and troubleshoot it for you." Aaron spoke playfully, eyes watching his friend's reaction and Justin merely eyed him dryly, but his grey eyes were full of mirth.

"You'd be a good friend if you guessed my drink right." Was what he responded back and Aaron laughed, running a hand through his hair.

"You can take a gamble and have a sip. Test how good of a friend I am yourself." He answered, gesturing to the cup on the left-hand side of the table and Justin leaned forward without hesitation, grabbing the cup before bringing it to his lips.

Aaron watched him as he drank, taking his own cup before looking around. It was Drake's birthday and, so, they were celebrating now with a party, despite it being a school night. Of course, Drake wasn't able to have the party at his house as his younger siblings had to sleep so, right now, they were in Justin's house. His father was off to work on night shift so they, essentially, had the place to themselves for the whole night, not that Justin would condone it. If he was fond of anything, it was sleep and nothing would take that away from him.

"So do I pass the friendship test, J Bear?" Aaron teased and Justin only rested his hand against the armchair, tapping his index finger against the cup rhythmically.

"If I say yes, can you not call me that ever again?" He responded just as dryly as before, but Aaron still found it funny, letting out a laugh. It was silent for a moment before Aaron spoke again.

"Only if you tell me what's got you tense enough to rock your leg." He wagered, looking to concern at his friend. Justin was many things, but he wasn't one to fidget, Aaron knew that much. He knew immediately that something was bothering his friend and, thus, he asked. The silence prolonged for a moment longer before Justin sighed tiredly, leaning his head back into the chair, empty eyes looking to the ceiling.

"Mason texted me telling me they're on the way." He spoke, relenting his tensions. He wasn't one to lie or not relay anything to Aaron.

'They're?" Aaron muttered in confusion and Justin nodded, still looking at the ceiling.

"Mason and... Raven Daley." He answered, feeling odd to using her name. With her name came the remembrance of her appearance: that raven-black hair, those glittering green eyes. The kiss had lasted for only a fleeting moment, but the scent of hair; the feel of her skin and taste of her lips was stuck in his mind. He had found her name out after through Aaron and he had found it apt to describe her: a dark, mysterious beauty.

Again, he would curse himself of thinking of her, but he couldn't help it. This was the first time his mind had moved of its own accord and he didn't know what to do in such a circumstance. He didn't know how to handle his impulsive thoughts and he hated it. He hated the loss of control.

But, what he hated more was his betrayal. He hated how he had done something like that to Mason who had considered him a friend. He preached about honesty all the time and then he did something so dishonest.

How pathetic.

"You're tense about Daley? Don't be. You didn't know she was taken. If anything, she's in the wrong." Aaron said callously to which Justin let out another sigh, turning to look at Aaron.

"I'm not wrong for kissing her when I didn't know. I'm wrong for keeping it from Mason. He deserves to know." He spoke firmly, iterating his inner thoughts. Mason was his friend; he had the right to know about what had happened. If it was the other way around, Justin would have wanted to know. Aaron let out a huff at this, placing his cup down on the table.

"Yeah, he does, but it's not you who should have to tell him. You didn't know she was taken; she did know. So, she should have the obligation to confess. But, even if, you were drunk and she was most likely drunk. Why ruin a relationship and a friendship over something that was probably a drunken mistake?" Aaron answered and Justin felt his resolve move at his friend's convincing words.

He had been drunk and she was probably drunk too. Was he merely digging a mountain out of a molehill and creating an issue out of nothing? Perhaps, Raven didn't even remember what had happened; perhaps she didn't care either. Before he could even frown at his thoughts, the sound of a voice interrupted him.

"Yo, Mason! Fashionably late as always!"

He looked up at Danny's voice, watching as he greeted Mason by the door and his body stiffened. He couldn't see her due to the flurry of people, but he knew she was there.

"Just go there and greet them, so you can get out of your head about it. You'll realise after that you were worrying over nothing." Those were Aaron's last words before he stood up, making his way over to Mason. Justin wasn't one to hesitate, so he followed suit, standing up and going over.

"Your place has changed since I've last been here." Mason spoke to him as he reached and he nodded as they greeted with a handshake.

"We remodelled." Was all he said and Mason smiled at this, letting out a low-drawn whistle as he looked around.

"You and Aaron are literally made out of money." He muttered in awe, eyeing the decor before he shook out of it and gestured to his right.

"Oh, I forgot I didn't introduce you yet, Justin. This is my girlfriend, Raven. And, Raven, this is my friend, Justin." He announced almost proudly and it was then that Justin's eyes shifted over to the focal point of his thoughts for the past 2 weeks.

Those green eyes.

She was wearing loose black jeans with a navy blue cardigan crop that showed her torso. That hair, that had haunted him, hung in loose waves, framing her full cheeks. He felt himself stiffen as he looked to her, nodding his head.

"Nice to meet you." Was all he said, voice devoid of emotion and icy eyes empty of any turmoil. He tensed all the more when her lips pulled into a smile as she nodded at him.

"Nice to meet you." She answered in that same voice he could remember from 2 weeks prior and he processed her voice: her expressions: everything.

It's all normal.

He didn't know what to feel: relief or sadness. It was true that he was glad that she probably didn't even recall it but, at the same time, he felt a tug in his chest that she didn't know of it. That, at the same time her lips had kept him up at night, she had slept just fine.

How annoying.

"Oh, I've got to show you and Aaron this girl that's been all over me tonight! You have to see her!" Danny's loud voice broke him out of his thoughts and he turned just as Danny yanked Aaron and Mason by their arms to the centre of where the people were dancing. It all happened too quick and then he was stood with her, alone.

He wasn't one too linger and he made way to move yet, before he could, her familiar voice spoke.

"I want to thank you for your advice." She said suddenly and it made him stiffen as he turned to her, eyes dark as she looked to him with a polite smile. It was with those words that he knew that she remembered and it made a cold run through him. He leaned forward towards her, a glare on his face.

"Wha-"

Before he could finish his scalding words, an arm looped around him and he turned to see a smiling Avalon.

"Hey, you both! We're short on people for Truth and Dare: come and join!" She spoke cheerily and Justin shook his head, glare softening as he looked to her.

"Not right now." He answered, moving to look back at Raven, but Avalon was never one to take no for an answer. She let out a whine, tugging at his arm again.

"Yes, right now. Your conversation can wait, the birthday boy's in this game." She spoke with a giggle, dragging both him and Raven. This time, he conceded, allowing her to as he turned his cold eyes to look to Raven who was merely smiling as she was pulled. He decided, after this game, he would confront her.

He just hoped those green eyes wouldn't make him falter.
