As said by my trusty google,pedophilia is defined as sexual feelings towards children.
Also said by trusty old google,children is defined as a young human being below the legal age of majority.

Now that we have our definitions under our belt,let's get started.

Pedophilia is commonly used in the fairy tail fandom to shoot down ships that people do not agree with.For example,Natsu x Wendy.There are many people who shoot down this ship just because it's so called "pedophilia".(For reference just go to ShirukeLightheart's account and read her Nawen chapter.)Well I'm sorry to burst your bubble,but legally,it is not pedophilia.The legal age limit to become an adult is 18.And consider the actual age of Natsu and Wendy.They are both 400+ years old.That's way over the age of consent,so it is perfectly fine to ship these two.

But yet again,people shoot down this ship because,"Natsu is so much older than Wendy!"Or,"Wendy didn't age on Tenrou!"I don't give a crap if they didn't physically age,they still aged.No one can stay young forever.And even if people go by the logic of Wendy being in a child's body,why don't people shoot down Zervis?Mavis is still stuck in a twelve year old's body,so why don't people question this too?Because they were "meant for each other."No.My theory is that because Zervis is so popular,no one dares to question it.All because "the creator wanted it to happen."or –my favorite–,"It's canon."Once again,no.As I said before,hate one ship for one thing,you got to hate the other ship for the same reason.Now the only reason Zervis and Nawen are not pedophilia,is because of everyone being the legal age limit of consent/adulthood.But examples of pedophilia ships are:
Wendy(400+)xRomeo(14)
(Real) Dragon slayers(400+)x anyone from tenrou –if you want to go with the belief that they don't age–
Mavis(who at that time was 12-17) x Zeref(who at that time was 300+ years old)
Erza(400+)x Jellal(20-something)–if you go with that fact that before we found out her true age,and go with the belief that they didn't age on tenrou,that would technically make him seven years older which equals pedophilia.–

And this sort of hypocrisy is not only in the fairy tail fandom,but in fandoms like attack on Titan,Black butler,Naruto,etc.

For example:Road to a ninja!Kakashi (who is way over the age limit) x either Naruto,Sasuke,or Sakura (who at that time,and up to sometime in shippuden I think,were definitely under the age limit.)

Erenx Levi(I don't want to here jack from you fangirls because you know it's true):Eren is 15 years old,and Levi is thirty.I don't care where they are,no where is the legal age limit 15.AoT is set in Germany,and people 18 or older can be punished for having sex with children 15 and under.So with that in mind,this ship is pedophilic.

Sebastian(100+) x Ciel(12-13):I don't care,if Ciel is a demon too.He.Is.Still.A.Child.So it is not legal.Same goes with Alois and Claude.Get your lives together fangirls.

And there are many more examples of pedophilic ships in fandoms,but we are just gonna stick with this.

And I see many people make excuses for the actual pedophilic ships,but shoot down the non-pedophilic ones.I see people saying,"Oh,but considering the society they're in it's ok."or,"But it's ok,because they like each other."

You all know darn well,you would not let your underaged child go out with a grown man/woman.You all would shut that down real quick.You wouldn't make any excuses or anything for your own child,so don't do it for another person's child,real or not.

But I guess when it comes to "popular ships",everything is ok right.There is nothing wrong with a grown man and/or woman trying to get with a non-consenting,underaged,child.Nope,not at all.

Who in the year of our lord 2017 let me write this bullshit. Natsu x Wendy is definitely creepy and pedophilic (if not power-imbalanced as fuck) and I can't believe 14 year old me thought it was ok to say this. Where the hell were the adults that knew better oh my goodness.
