Spin off: Day 31
I'm on my way.
After typing her thoughtful reply, Ken closed her laptop and facepalmed herself. What the hell was she thinking? She couldn't believe she gave him her address and that she'd be meeting him in such a wrong time.
What has gotten into you, Ken?
She got up and rushed downstairs where she found no one. Her Mom was probably already off to work in the hospital and her sister must've been out with friends to get some fresh air. Ken sighed then strode towards the front door. She stood by the front gate, glancing from left to right.
Five minutes.
Ten minutes.
Fifteen minutes.
Twenty minutes later, she finally saw a panting Kise running towards her direction. She waved a hand and he sped up his pace upon seeing her.
"Why didn't you take a cab?" She exclaimed in disbelief when the blonde was already right in front of her.
His chest rose and fell through harsh breathing, sweat was all over his face, and he couldn't even speak for a moment because of oxygen loss. "I.. didn't want.. to get.. caught up.. in.. traffic.."
"You've ran atleast 10miles from there. You're crazy!"
Kise ran a hand through his hair and gave him a small smile after. "I was in a hurry to see you, Kenlycchi."
She facepalmed and shook her head in disbelief, trying to brush away the blush that was about to taint her cheeks. "Idiot.."
"I'm a basketball player, Kenlycchi. I'm used to running." Then his facial expression went serious. "And besides, I'd run even a thousand miles just to get to you."
Ken grew still as she stared at Kise's handsome face. He was so beautiful, and she couldn't believe he had fallen for someone like her. When she didn't reply, Kise took another step closer and cupped her right cheek, making her flinch with the touch.
"Are you okay?" He asked worriedly.
Ken gulped before she nodded her head. "I'm fine."
"You cried."
"I didn't." She denied.
The male slouched down to meet her height, he moved his face closer until it was only mere inches away from hers. And Ken gasped because of the sudden closeness. "W-What are you doing?"
Kise eyed her face carefully, oblivious about the fact that just a little bit more and their lips would touch. "Your eyes are red and sore."
She quickly looked away. "It's none of your business."
"It is." He straightened his back and showed her a gentle look, cupping her chin to face him again. "I care for you, Kenlycchi. I want you to tell me everything, I'm always here to listen."
Ken bit her lower lip as a miserable sob escaped her throat. Not being able to hold back her emotions, she leaned her head against his chest as if seeking strength from him. "It's hard when you're from a broken family."
She wasn't hugging him, and he didn't move an inch. Just the top of her head on his firm chest, her face hung down as tears kept falling from her eyes. Kise just let her cry, let her sob, let her grieve.. let her lean against him like a helpless child.
"I wish they would just stop fighting over me. They don't know how much it hurts when you see your parents fight everytime. My sister stopped caring, she got tired of their endless fights. And so I am alone now, I don't know what to do anymore."
Kise lifted up his hand and rubbed her back. "Kenlycchi.."
"I love them both, that's why I can't choose. I can't.."
"You don't have to choose, Kenlycchi. You just gotta do what you have to do. Just follow what your heart says and I'm sure they'll understand whatever your decision is." At that point, Kise wrapped his arms around her and pressed her against his comforting warmth. "Though I don't want you to go. I can't even imagine it."
"I'm not going, Ryouta.."
He tightened his grip and nuzzled his face against her hair. "I need you, Kenlycchi. So you have to promise me that you won't leave me."
Her eyes widened, his voice faltered near the end and the vulnerability in it sent her heart beat faster and louder. After a few seconds, she finally found the strength to give him her word. "I promise.."
"I love you."
She couldn't answer, for she didn't know what to say. Those three words he said were like a beautiful melody to her ears. There's no denying about the fact that Kise was special to her. But she couldn't afford mistaking it as love, that would be so unfair to him. So to avoid hurting Kise, she has to understand the color of her true feelings first.
She smiled faintly and wrapped her arms around his back too, much to Kise's delight. "Thank you for everything, Ryouta.."
Kise smiled and secretly kissed her curly locks. "That's more than enough, Kenlycchi."

"Is it okay that I'm here, Kenlycchi?" Kise asked, kind of nervous himself because of the fact that they're alone in the house.
Ken poured some hot tea unto his cup before answering the blonde's question. "Just for tea. Then you're free to go after."
"It sounds like you still want to spend more time with me." Kise teased, grinning from ear to ear.
She nearly choke on her own tea upon hearing what he said. "Ew. Shut up! I just want to extend my hospitality to you since you came all this way to comfort me."
He smirked, enjoying the sight of her blushing cheeks. "Okay, sweetheart. Whatever you say."
She only rolled her eyes and just focused on eating. For the next few minutes, they spent their time eating the cookies she prepared. But all along, Kise was staring at her and observing her actions, taking her in. She was wearing a simple shirt, her hair was quite messy, and there was no trace of any makeup on her face. She was simple, yet for Kise, she's the loveliest girl he's ever met.
"Stop staring." She whined, glaring at him.
"What?" He deadpanned, shrugging his shoulders. "I don't get to see you everyday so I'm going to stare at you now for as long as I can."
"Well, it's irksome so stop."
"I won't. And you can't make me." He stated, still staring at her with a smirk.
Ken clicked her tongue in annoyance then showed him a very serious look. "Please, sweetheart.."
The blonde froze up and the cup he was holding hung in the air, he put it down again and looked away. His face was completely red and all flushed. "O-Okay."
It was Ken's turn to smirk. "Got you."
He pouted. "Unfair-ssu."

"Kenlycchi, what's your ex like?"
Kise's question made Ken raise a brow. "Why do you ask?"
"I'm just curious what kind of person he is. He left you, so I bet he was a total jerk."
She sighed. "He was nice. And he was the one who taught me how to play the guitar."
Kise's brows furrowed. "He did?"
"Yeah. We were friends since Middle School so we've known each other for a long time when he finally confessed to me on our third year." She paused for a while, as if sinking into her own memories. "We've had a one-year relationship before he disappeared. Renji told me his parents bethrothed him to another girl. So no wonder he didn't come back for me."
"What's his name?" He asked in a deep voice.
She let out a bitter smile. "You don't need to know, Ryouta."
"Is he younger or older than you?"
"We were on the same class." She answered casually as she stood up from her seat. "Let's go, Ryouta. It's already late, you need to go."
He remained silent for a minute as if thinking deeply about something. Specifically, her mysterious ex. Jealousy was bubbling deep inside of him, to know that the ex wasn't really a jerk, that the ex was her perfect match because of their age and their long-term relationship and friendship, and that the ex introduced her to the very one thing she loved: Music.
And what does that make him? Him. The guy which she only met on the internet.
On the fucking internet..
"Ryouta?"
He blinked his eyes and looked at her. "I'm sorry. You were saying?"
"I said, let's go. I'll send you off."
He nodded his head. "Okay."
He stood up and together they walked out of the house. Ken wondered about Kise's sudden change of actions. He became silent and somehow distant, and she didn't like it.
"What's wrong, Ryouta?"
He glanced at her through his shoulder and shook his head. "Nothing."
"Okay." She reluctantly gave him a nod and just brushed the matter away.
* * *
"Thanks for coming. I really appreciate your concern." Ken said as they got out of the gate.
Kise smiled and held her hand. "I'm always here for-" He stopped when he noticed something. She was wearing the ring he gave her and it made his heart flutter in joy. He brought her hand up and stared at it for a while. "It looks good on you."
She yanked her hand away and hid it behind her back. "It's a waste not to wear it."
"I got your size right, didn't I?" He grinned proudly.
"Yeah. How did you know by the way?" The ginger asked curiously.
"I measured it with my pinky finger." He held out his pinky and like a kid he continued smiling. "See? We're meant to be. That means you're my soulmate."
She laughed and pinched his cheek. "You're like a child in kindergarten, Ryouta."
This time, he smiled gently and cupped her hand which was still on his cheek. He brought it to his lips and kissed it. "At least I made you laugh.."
There was silence for a minute as the cool wind blew and the handsome smile on Kise's face was making Ken hitch her breath. He was firmly holding her hand, as if not letting her go in any way possible. The stars shone brightly in the sky and she was sure the quarter moon was giving enough light to make the blush on her cheeks visible in the blonde's sight.
"B-Baka.." She slowly pulled her hand away and pushed him towards the street.
"How rude-ssu."
"You're getting annoying so go home!" She retorted, still blushing.
"I'm not. You're falling for me and you just won't admit it. Am I right, Sweetheart?" He said huskily with a manly smirk.
"Go. Home. Now."
"HIDOI-SSU!" He acted like a child again and cried on his arm, the typical Kise tantrums.
Ken facepalmed and playfully slapped his arm. "Stop acting like a kid, Ryouta. Man up."
He turned to her with a childish pout. "You want me to man up?"
"Yes. Man up because you kept on claiming that you are one."
"Ja.." He smirked and leaned closer. "I'll just man up and kiss you then."
"Wha-"
Kise pressed his lips on her surprised ones, brushing his soft lips against hers. Two seconds passed before he pulled away and ran away like a crazy person.
"WOOHOO! I'M THE KING OF THE WORLD!" He screamed while laughing as he ran on the middle of the street.
Ken dropped her jaw then ran after him. "YOU IDIOT!"
"HAHAHA! I LOVE YOU, KENLYCCHI! PLEASE DON'T KILL ME!"
"YOU'RE DEAD, RYOUTA!"
Ken stopped and panted for air. "GET BACK HERE!"
But Kise didn't listen and continued running. When he was far enough, he stopped and whipped around to wave goodbye. "GOODBYE, SWEETHEART! YOUR LIPS ARE SO SWEET, I LIKE IT! UNTIL NEXT TIME!"
Ken groaned and just let him off the hook. For now. "I'LL PUNCH YOU NEXT TIME, YOU IDIOT!"
Kise waited for her to walk back home. When he was sure that she got back in the house safely, he called a taxi and got in. His thumb caressed his lower lip and he smiled.
I'll see you soon again, My Sweet Kenly..
***
"Kise Ryouta, you idiot! Kise Ryouta, you idiot! Ugh."
She slumped down on the coach and buried her burning face on one throw pillow.
"The idiot just kissed me.."
..and I liked it.
