August 25 2016 i rode espie by myself for the first time. i had gone out to the farm to help my riding instructor with another horse at the same level of brokenness as espie Taps because she was a nervous horse and she was calmer when someone was walking beside her. my trainer likes to call the people who lead her around while working with unbroke horses kindergarten teachers. and the horse is in kindergarten until you can ride them around the ring by yourself in which they are then graduated to grade one. so i did my regular lunging and then handing her to my trainer so i can get on and we walked around and trotted around when she was like ok do you think your confident enough to ride by yourself? i answered yes so she took the lunge line off and at first she tried to back up my my trainer took the reins and walked forward for her to know to go forward and then i walked for like a quarter of the arena and then i trotted the whole arena by myself!! So yeah I was super happy
