Lately, something about my brother Milo has been really off. He sneaks out of the house on Friday nights, he's always late to stuff and sometime, he just disappears. It's been going on for three months and my parents still haven't noticed, they believe all of his excuse even the worst one. At first, I thought maybe he's actually going to help his best friend to bath her dog. But recently, his excuses are literal jokes. He really thinks that "I got to go, the president is calling me" or "Sorry I was late, I had to take my pet fish on a walk" are good excuses. He doesn't even have a fish! I'm tired of him getting away with everything when I can't even text my best friends at 3 am without getting punished!

So, I decided to do the only thing you can do in my situation, follow my brother on one of his expeditions to unknown destinations. I can't do that alone so, I've put together a team, my best friend (and crush) Julian, Milo's best friend Cassie and I, Avery. We even have a plan, tonight, we follow my brother on one of his Friday escapades. Cassie is currently at my house while I'm at Julian's place. Did I forget to mention that Cassie and Julian are siblings? Cause they are. So, Julian invited me to sleepover and we are waiting for a text from his sister. She's hiding close to my house waiting for my dear brother to sneak out and when he does, she's going to text. Right now, we are waiting in Julian's bedroom, he's listening to music and I'm watching series on my phone. I'm in the middle of my episode when my best friend screams:

"I have an amazing idea!"

"Sure Jul, I'm sure it's an amazing idea!" I say teasing him, "but seriously, what is it?"

"We should wear disguises!" he says while disconnecting his earphones, looking at me with sparkly teal eyes. I had forgotten how pretty Julian's eye are. I don't understand how no girls have asked him out yet, he's really cute. I mean, I would ask him out if he wasn't my best friend but I'm scared he's going to reject me and we will lose what we already have. I look away from the pretty eyed boy with dark hair and I think about what he proposed, wear disguises. Like pink wigs? I ask him what kind of disguise he had in mind.

"Well, you could just steal something from my sister's closet, it's not your style so your brother will have more difficulty to spot you! We should just wear things we wouldn't wear every day! Say yes Ave, it's gonna be fun!"

He looks at me with a giant smile and puppy eyes, guess what, I can't resist that look. He pushes me toward Cassie's room and closes the door behind me. I open the closet door and look at the clothes. There's so much stuff in there! Cassie has like a thousand outfits! My brother and Julian's sister are 18 while I'm 17, so we hang out together a lot and I've seen Cassie in most of those clothes. I grab a red Coca-Cola crop top and a pair of blue denim shorts. I put them on and I feel a bit naked but the goal today is to look different, and I am looking very different right now! I undo my high ponytail, and I leave my hair loose on my shoulders. I put on a red-orange lipstick I found in Cassie's bathroom. I take a quick look at myself in the mirror and I like what I see. I walk out of the room and I enter Julian's only to see that he is shirtless, I can't help but look at his abs, and I like what I see. He put on a white and pink t-shirt and looks at me. I can't help myself and I blush hardly, he's really cute, the dark blue shorts he's wearing are really different from the jogging he usually wears. I snap out of it and look somewhere else, scolding myself mentally. He's your best friend Avery, stop being obsessed.

"You look good Ave." He says not looking me into the eyes.

"Not bad yourself, Jul."

At that exact moment, we receive a text from Cassie, it's time. We run out of Julian's house and he screams to his mom that we are getting ice cream, at least it's a better excuse than Milo's!

We hop on our bikes, and we head toward my house. I see my brother, heading downtown, Cassie walking just behind him. Julian and I leave our bikes next to a tree and run to catch up with our siblings. My brother is wearing a black hoodie and sunglasses, almost as if he's trying to be incognito...

Milo is walking kind of fast, and he's hard to follow. Since it's a Friday night, there are lots of people walking in the streets and most of them are drunk. I'm kind of scared, a random 40-year-old dude just asks for my number. He was so weird. Cassie just told him to go, and we continued our chase. My brother walks down the stair of a subway station and uses his magnetic card to get into the station. I do the same thing and follow Milo thru the gate. Julian scans his card and follow me, while Cassie is looking in her bag.

"Guys, I don't have my card!" she tells us. At that moment, we hear the subway enter the station. "Go, follow Mil and text me where he's going, I'll rejoin you there!"

Julian grabs my hand and we start running to catch the tube. We enter the wagon, second before the door closes. I let out a small laugh, we probably look weird, two teens holding hands running to catch a subway. Holding hands, Julian is holding my hand! He's just doing it so you don't lose each other in the crown Avery, snap out of it. I let go of his hand and look around to spot Milo in the car in front of ours, I can see him thru the small window. I garb a pole close to me and look at my brother. Where is he going? Does he have a secret job? Is he a spy for the government? I ask my best friends what he thinks.

"Maybe he's in a sect.... No, I know! He as a girlfriend ... or a boyfriend!"

"I think the sect thing is more realistic than Mil in a relationship!" I say smirking

"Why? Because your brother as never been in a relationship? Neither do we!" he states

"But we... I don't know I just don't like to think that my brother is a relationship." I say

"I understand," he pauses then says, "I don't like to think about you in a relationship with someone else..."

I look at him wide-eyed.

"Shoot! I said that out loud, didn't I?" he asks looking at me.

"Yeah, you did," I say really confused.

"Look, I'll explain. I don't like to think about you in a relationship with someone else than me ... because I like you, Avery," he tells me, before touching his hair like he does when he's stressed.

Wait, did he say he likes me? OMG, Omg, omg!!!

"Julian, I like you too..." I say looking anywhere except at him. I look toward my brother and I see him get out of the subway. "Jul, can we talk about this later? We are on a mission!" I say while grabbing his hand and forcing him out of the subway.

We are in a really chic part of the town. The part with giant houses, the part where rich people live. I've never been here but my brother seems to know exactly where he's going. He's walking down the street with a confident walk. Fortunately for us, he's not going into one of the houses, he's going into a retro-style dinner. I don't understand why there's a 90s-style dinner in the middle of a rich residential district but I'm not going to ask questions. Julian pushes open the door behind Milo and we enter the dinner. We sit in the booths just behind my brother. He's alone and nothing much is happening, so I look at the menu, only to be impressed, the food is so expensive! $36 for a hot dog! How is my brother going to pay for his food? We are far from rich.

I don't have time to think about it cause a pretty young woman enters the restaurant, but it's not any woman, it's Lillee Perino! You know Lille Perino, right? She's just the most famous vlogger and singer of all time! Every Thursday, she posts her vlog, it's just her and her friends messing around, doing challenges, just teenagers having fun. And Lillee is also an amazing singer, her single "I am me" is a bop with 20M listen on Spotify. Her YouTube channel has over 14,7M subscribers! And she's sitting with my brother!!!!! Chill Avery! Julian is looking at them with his mouth open, shocked. Milo and Lillee are just talking, like if they are great friends. It's the weirdest thing ever. I decide to stand up and go talk to Mil. I grab Julian's hand because I can't do that alone, he needs to help me. That's what best friends are for, duh!

"If that isn't my dear brother!" I say with a grin looking at my brother.

"Ry? Julian? What are you doing here?" he asks, confused.

"We followed you, it was Avery's idea!" Julian tells him.

"And it's a great idea! But that's not the point! Will you introduce us to your friend?" I say

"Sure... Avery, Julian, this is my girlfriend, Lillee Perino. Lil, my sister, and her best friend."

"Girlfriend?!?!?!" Me and Julian scream

"Yeah, we are dating!" Lillee tells us.

"Well, that's amazing! But like, how is my brother dating a celebrity?" I ask

"I was filming a vlog, and I got this dare, it was to ask a stranger on a date. Milo was there and I thought he was cute, so I ask him. He said yes and we came to eat here. We had a good time so, we did it again many times. And last Friday, I ask him to be my boyfriend. He said yes!" Lillee explain

"I never saw that vlog ... and I've watched every vlog!" I say

"You probably saw it; we just didn't put that dare in" Lillee states, "I have an idea; you could come to my house tomorrow and be part of the weekly vlog!"

I was about to accept when a dark-haired girl entered the diner, it's Cassie.

"What did I miss?" she asks

"A lot," Julian answers

-Flash-forward, two months later, in a vlog-

"Hey guys, it's Lillee Perino! I'm here with Julian, Avery, Cassie, and my boyfriend, Milo! Today, we are going to do your crazy dares and answer your question! If we refused, we are out of the competitions, and the winner gets 10,000 dollars! Are you ready guys?"

"Yes! Yup, let's do it!" screams everyone

"The first dare is for Jul and Avery, Buterfly5151 want you to kiss," Lillee tells the two teens.

"Let's get this over with Ave.," the blue eye boy tells before gently kissing the girl, making Lillee squeak.

"Alright, next question: JuleryANDMilleeareEndgame ask us, who is the worst at lying and what is the worst excuse he/she used? We all know the answer!" the blonde vlogger says to the camera, "it's Milo!" she says in unison with everyone else.

"And the worst excuse is probably 'I have to take my pet fish on a walk'" Milo finishes.

"Next dare, Cassie, I'mAReader want you to swap clothes with your brother."

"But she's wearing a tank top!!"
