Chapter 6: Greed and Lust
"Sheikhu, bring special Brand! Chaudhary Saheb is our special guest tonight!" Sheema ordered little boy, Sheikhu.
Childhood is portrayed as a time of unfettered joy, idyllic and carefree but not in case of him.
At the age where children go to school, play with friends; Sheikhu was like a continually plodding bullock around Persian wheel. He had infinite chain of duties in a day.
During functions or parties, his responsibilities would have increased even more. He was called from every direction. If party is organized in Grand hall, he used to arrange guests's footwear outside.
"Nanna, in a minute!" Sheikhu showed his efficiency, "Chaudhary Saheb you are our majestic patron, how can I be so sinful to deny you!" Sheema's words entered in Sheikhu's ear and his legs froze just outside of the room, sticking to the wall, his auditory sense tuning towards voice as he held his breath. "Sheema, I'm literally losing my patience, since I saw her, nothing is satisfying me. My heart is no longer listening to me, it's demanding only for her-" Sheikhu heard Jahandad Chaudhary's lusty voice, "Chaudhary Saheb, don't be diplomatic here, why don't you use appropriate word; it's not your heart but your something else!" Sheema replied lasciviously and then Sheikhu heard their conjoined creepy laughter.
'Whom they're talking about?' Sheikhu pondered.
"I am ready to pay anything you want in return. Sheema anything! Just one time!" He was so anxious to have an access to her. "Chaudhary Saheb, easy...easy! I never saw you this impatient before?" Sheema tickled his nerves.
There was something strange and terrifying in all of this conversation which Sheikhu, as a mere child, was incapable of fathoming.
"Sheema, something very special, very intense can't find words to describe my situation!" Chaudhary Jahandad spoke rubbing his chest like a pervert.
"Raniya is my favorite girl Chaudhary Saheb, she is fragile piece, inexperienced! I better give her rohypnol before, so that she won't be able to resist to ruin your mood." Sheema slightly lowered her voice but it highly tensed up Sheikhu. 'Raniya baji' he clenched his fists harder, his heart squeezed as he heard they were talking about Raniya.
"No need of it Sheema, lion always hunt his prey, it stimulates hunger!" Sheikhu heard him saying proudly, he turned around briskly to move away from here.
His walk unsteady but fast. Entering little bar room, he found his legs trembling. The planning Sheema did for Raniya, was gruesome. His vision got blurred at once, only to make him realize that he was crying.
He helplessly rubbed his eyes to see better view to locate the Special Brand.
Arranging Bottle and snifter in a try, he was now violently searching in drawers for the drug, Sheema mentioned. Rohypnol!
After some seconds, the tablet carton was in his shaking hands; he was still with his eyes holding strong grudge for the drug. Then in a flash moment he unboxed the drug, took blister pack out and pressed out couples of tablets.
Looking here and there he found nothing to crush the tablets. "Ah!"It hurt when he tried his thumb pressure on tablet. Continually searching for any object, his eyes took a glimpse of stainless steel ice tong. Quickly grabbing, he srarted crushing some tablets into powder form. As soon he was done, he slowly twisted the bottle cork open, to transfer tablet powder into the bottle. Working with throbbing heart his tongue between his lips, poking out of the mouth.
Completing the task, he rubbed his hands to himself; fixing the cork again he dusted off the bottle too. Resetting everything in the tray, he dragged himself outside.
As he entered where lust and greed were weaving conspiracy. "Sheikhu, What took you so long? Look at Chaudhary Saheb, how nice he is, unmatchable patience he possess," Sheema literally bootlicking the man who was making thick smoke puffs by dragging deeply his cigarette.
"Sheema! Isn't he the same kid whose mother was the slimy chick of your clan?" Chaudhary pointed finger at little boy, "exactly same!" Sheema unnecessarily chuckled, "who is his father?" Chaudhary dragged a puff again this time smoke was fogging Sheikhu's petite form. "Unknown!" Sheema poured drink in snifter and then there was again a conjoined laughter, "Chaudhary saheb, his mother eloped with her customer, in search of love and a dignified life, but there she got deceived, who puts a muddy footwear on his head; her so called lover happened to be a leech pimp. He used to search customers for the girl to fill his pocket. One day she got a chance to escape from his grip; coming straight to me, she fell at my feet, begged my pardon, and talked all that sort of stuff which I was expecting. Chaudhary Saheb, humanity still reside in this world! I forgave her as you know my kindness, and then there was another reason, she was heavily pregnant, I hoped for a girl but she delivered this Sheikhu," she looked sadly at little boy who felt his cheeks suffused with shame and he stood there silent.
"Leave this sh*tty talk, Chaudhary Saheb you enjoy your drink," she got her heavy arse up, "I better go to prepare your bed for a niight stayy," she winked meaningfully only to erect Jahandad Chaudhary's famished beast. He playfully smiled giving one end of his mustache an upward twist, brought snifter to his mouth and gulped down the content in one go. Sheikhu slipped out of the room with somehow unburdened heart.
______________
It was around 2: am in the morning.
Sheikhu was in great anxiety as he was continuously roaming around Raniya's room.
His devotion to Raniya, his obvious pleasure in her company and her equally obvious concern to him wasn't hidden from anyone. Raniya used to teach him, as she found the boy too bright in studies.
He heard her cries, then horrible shrieking, and then a long silence!
A deathlike silence!
He could hear his heart beating ferociously, then without any further thinking, he came running to the girls, those were getting ready for a late night function.
_____________
Key turned inside the lock hole making the door open, noiselessly.
She was sitting in far corner of the room.... very scared...infact traumatized. If some says that she was half dead, that would be perfect fit. Unwell enough but still she was survivor.
Jahandad Chaudhary couldn't complete the task he was going to perform, he couldn't disgrace her. The drug sheikhu mixed in his drink, knocked him out before doing anything to her.
As Reem informed Sheema that according to Sheikhu, something bad has happened to Raniya, Sheema decided to go check it out.
Her eyes took the tour of room and saw Chaudhary in bed lying prone with deep unconscious form. After getting satisfied from his side, she came towards poor girl. She felt a bit pity when saw Raniya's bruised face, noticing her nose ring intact, "So, he couldn't conquer you, paper lion!?" She asked weirdly. Raniya's first few seconds kept staring her with tears brimming, then her lips quivered, "why you betrayed me? Wasn't my dance...paying enough to fill your.... well of greed!?" Tears were accompanying.
"Shhhh...my child, calm down," sheema cupping her face, wiping off her tears with her thumbs, "I really didn't know, he had a vile intention towards you-" Raniya jerking off her hands, screamed, "lie! Ultimate lie, it was planned, you bloody liar!" Sheema's features changed at her tone, her nostrils flared, and in a flick move, she gripped Raniya's hair from nape, "bitch! No one ever dared to raise her voice against me. Yes I planned it!" Raniya's eyes widened not only at Sheema's confession but from the pain she was bearing, "but you ruined it, you killed the man! Good for you, you don't like to live here? I will call the police and then they will take you away from here for good. Then every man in the police station will celebrate a night with yours beautiful figure. Sheema spoke dramatically as she looked her up and down. This made an instant affect on Raniya, she went ghostly pale, "I-I didn't k-kill him!" She stuttered àt cunning woman's threatening.
"That's what you want me to accept, but police believe in proofs, they're not such fools to swallow your story 'I didn't do anything, let them do their work!" Weaving another web for poor girl, Sheema stood up, pretending she is going to call the police.
"Auntie Sheema! Please stop!" As she heard drenched voice with two soft hands rested on her feet, a sly smile crept across her face.
-----------------------
Ludwig's timber:
The workshop wasn't huge but enough spacious to accommodate piles of wood, provide flexible workarea with all machinery and toolset.
Serkhayl was working on his project for about two hours, quite tired as perspiration streamed from his face.
"Are you done yet?"
Mr Ludwig asked from behind.
"Not yet! How long were you in the kitchen?" He replied then asked without leaving his attention towards the work.
"I was making tea for you!" Mr. Ludwig placed tea cup infront of him.
"Thanks for this favour, but tea took pretty well an hour to get a boil?" He asked this time quite leaving his work as took a sip of tea. He knew during that hour in the kitchen, he was drinking ale all the time.
"Mr. Ludwig laughed at his slight mock as he tore the wrapper of granula bar to offer him
Mr. Ludwig was in his 50s, he was owner of this workshop.
How they met, interesting story.
Serkhayl being boffin hand, needed some tools for his cottage. In timber market he met an amazing carpenter, Ludwig. The chair he had designed to use in limited space was a great craft. It could be transformed into rest chair, to let you sleep in an easy posture. Serkhayl not only bought the chair at first sight but praised wholeheartedly the owner of those hands, who crafted it.
This first meeting wasn't expecting another but one day Serkhayl accidentally met him in a market. He was buying fuel, when some noise made him turn his head. He saw Mr. Ludwig was tripped on road with grocery bags around him.
Recognizing him in an instant, Serkhayl ran towards old fellow, helped him to his feet. Afterwards dropped him off at home.
This kind gesture engraved on Mr. Ludwig's heart. He let the young man go after a promise to visit again.
The entire happening although quite normal, left a deep impression; enough to meet again.
"I saw your outlandish brother; he was driving like formula1 driver." Mr. Ludwig in his phelgmatic voice spoke to him, "Yes, he's like one!" Serkhayl answered intently as he was inspecting his wooden toolbox, which has many portions to put things in order. "I'm amazed at how many dissimilarities you both share." Mr. Ludwig spoke as he untucked pencil from behind his right ear.
"He is naughty and usually gets in trouble for breaking rules, being rude, or doing something wrong. But I can guarantee that he can drive you home alive and whole. He is Champion!"
Serkhayl Shah defending his brother trailed his finger on the edge.
Mr. Ludwig left a throaty laugh in the air, then asked, "You keep good thoughts about him, is it same form his side about you?"
The edge was still rough, Serkhayl turned on the sander to smooth it.
Noise level was high!
Ludwig waited the answer for few moments then turned towards his table where rolls of designs were scattered.
"It's done!" Ludwig turned around and saw him standing in work outfit with chisel in his hand. Dark blue dungaree was well defining his tall and ripped frame while the same article described Ludwig as short and paunchey. "Perfect!" Ludwig commented as he inspected the toolbox from every angle.
"Thanks, it's time to go!"
He checked time in his wrist watch. It was quarter to 7. PM.
"Wait, Jeni preparing dinner for us!" Ludwig informed. "What?"He quizzically looked at Ludwig then resubmitted his question, "why?"
"It's her birthday, she asked me to tell you so I did." Mr. Ludwig informed simply.
Everything was perfect with Ludwig place, he always felt good to be here, Ludwig was better company. First few sessions she was out of screen but after first encounter, she was always found here.
Her behaviour, from the beginning was a question mark to him.
Staringg him without any blink! Unnecessary visits to the work area! Swarming around him like bee!
He couldn't complain to Mr. Ludwig, as he always felt embarrassed to discuss the matter.
It was no more hidden that, her feelings for him become sexual.
Why shouldn’t a woman feel attracted to a man who possessed all the stereotypical attributes? He was tall and handsome, his husky voice radiated with sense of confidence.
He seriously felt disgusting to have her around, begging for attention and now this dinner. 'no way' he thought to himself then spoke to Mr Ludwig, "I'm sorry Mr Ludwig, I need to go back urgently!" Concluding, as he turned, found her just in front. She was in her late 30s. In red Sari, deliberately undraped from the bosom, her deep neck revealing heavy amount of cleavage. She was standing at the angle that hid her from the eyes of Mr Ludwig.
"What do you think, where are you going?"
you going?!" She hooked her fingers in his either dungaree suspenders, "Tonight, I won't let you go hungry, from here, please don't deny!" Her eyes with a thirsty look freely roaming over his face then chest then down.
He clenching his jaw, removed her hands as he spoke bitterly.
"Excuse me, Mrs. Ludwig!"
