•✧ TAEHYUNG'S POV ✧•

The door bell suddenly rings making Jennie and Haerim look at Taehyung as he pauses the movie that was playing on the TV and stands up. His eyes hold an irritated look in them as he glances at the girls.

“I think it's mom and dad. Do you girls mind going upstairs for some time? I'll call you downstairs soon.” - Jennie simply nods and slips off the couch, giving Tae a peck on his cheek before running upstairs. Haerim follows close behind her.

When they're both out of sight a sigh escapes his lips as he steps towards the door. Opens it, immediately greeted with two human beings he wasn't even sure he was related to at this point. Every time they met, it was either because of a sudden warning they wanted to give him about not dating or to discuss when he 'wanted' to get married. The fact that he didn't want to get married was hidden, he did want to marry now but only Jennie. If she wanted to of course, and he was going to make this fact pretty damn clear to them today.

“Son—”

“Taehyung. I have a name.” - He fights the urge to roll his eyes at his mother and steps aside, letting them walk inside without saying another word.

By now they both probably would've made a mental note about him not being in a great mood. After all, every time they were here it made him feel uncomfortable.

“Is Haerim here?” - Speaks the man noticing the pink slippers Jennie left beside the couch. Jennie, not Haerim.

“Yes.” - He replies, refusing to tell them about his girlfriend for now. He would get there too, eventually.

“So? What brings you here?” - Taehyung gets straight to the point, sitting across the table on the other couch while his parents sit in front of him.

“We need to talk about your wedding.” - Furry rises inside him again but he remains calm. His aura screams danger all of a sudden as he glares at his father.

“Great timing. I also have to say something.” - He starts, a small smile stretches on the woman's lips but disappears soon after when he continues.

“I'm not marrying Seo-won. And It's my final decision, I'm not obliged to obey your orders.” - The older man scoffs in disbelief but controls himself as he snaps.

“What the fuck are you on about now? I thought we already talked about this Taehyung.” - His tone turns rougher as anger floods through his veins, obviously not happy with what Taehyung had said.

But it wasn't of any use, he had said what he wanted to say. He had already decided that he would marry the girl he loved. Not the girl who loved him.

He was a grown up man after all, making his own decisions was his right and no one could steal that right from him. It was him who was going to spend his life with the person he married, not his so-called parents.

The expressions on the man's face suddenly change as he slowly settles back into his seat. A thousand possibilities probably formed inside his brain already but one of them was strong enough to be true.

“You're dating another girl behind our back, aren't you?” - A smile rests on Taehyung's lips, he looks back towards the stairs. Aware of the fact that Haerim and Jennie were standing there behind the wall.

He stands up, walks towards their way and before both of the girls can even recognize his footsteps and run upstairs he's standing in front of them. His arms folded in front of his chest and eyes teasingly squinted a little. An apologetic smile appears on Jennie's lips as she looks back but realizes Haerim had already run upstairs.

Traitor.

“I didn't mean to eavesdrop.” - She starts, but he only chuckles and shakes his head as he gets a hold of her hand and pulls her towards him making her almost stumble as she steps down from the stairs.

His parents stand up at the same time causing her to look in their direction but he cups her cheeks and places a short kiss on her lips.

“There's no need to hold back if they say something harsh or rude. Do not get nervous and absolutely don't get startled if they threaten you, you know damn well who's the stronger one here.” - His remarks make her eyes shine as she sweetly smiles up at him making his insides melt within a second and God knows how he controlled himself not to start kissing her in front of his parents.

“God, that smile.” - She giggles before he grips on her hand and turns around.

The look on their faces tells him that he's succeeded in making them furious. That's what he wanted. He wanted them to experience what he has been feeling even before he knew how to spell love.

“I can't believe you, Taehyung.” - His mother speaks, he ignores her and introduces his girl.

“This is Jennie. My Girlfriend, my future wife and the only woman I'm going to marry. So please. Don't make me hate you more than I already do, you've never been good parents to me so maybe at least once you can try to fix everything. At least once can you think about what I want? Or is the happiness of Lim Seo-won and her family all that matters to you?” - Every word that comes out of his mouth is a sharp arrow he throws directly at his parents, the only difference now is that it crumbles and falls to the ground before it even reaches them.

There's an unpleasant look still visible on their faces, and the little hope Taehyung had of making his parents understand crumbles along with his words. He feels a small sting in his heart but ignores it, just like how he has been doing all these years..

“This is ridiculous.” - The older man spits, grabbing his wife's arm and dragging her out of the house before any other words even form on his tongue.

He smiles, sadly. There's a painful look in his eyes that she doesn't fail to notice. Anger boils inside her body but she cools herself down, swearing then and there that she would never leave this man. Even if it meant the entire world was going to be against them. Even if it meant she had to hear harsh words every day, surely his sorrow and paining heart couldn't be compared to any other hurtful things.

Jennie gulps the knot in her throat and steps in front of Taehyung, wrapping her arm around his torso and pulling his head into the crook of her neck as he snuggles in it. Holding her tightly against him as he inhales deeply.

“Did you.. mean it?” - She softly asks making him confused.

“Meant what, princess?” - She fiddles with his hair and places a kiss to the side of his face.

“When you said you wanted to marry me?” - His heartbeat suddenly fastens, along with her already pumping heart as a sudden wave of calmness travels through his body and ends right at his chest.

“Did it look like I was joking?” - His tone is serious, intimidating but relieving at the same time.

Jennie remains quiet, giving herself time to think about everything he said and then breaks out into a fit of small giggles which confuses him again but he enjoys the sound of her laughter. Laughter that sounds like heaven.

“What?” - He asks, even his voice telling her that he's smiling now. Genuinely.

“What if our kids are as dumb as me?” - This time he starts laughing. The sound of their giggles fills the living room as they both relish in the moment.

“They'll be beautiful just like you, and I wouldn't mind handling crackheads anyway. Especially my crackhead.” - He slightly pulls away and pecks her nose as she scrunches it out of habit.

“What did I do to deserve you?” - His forehead rests against hers as he sighs contentedly.

“Shouldn't I be the one saying that?” - He shakes his head and takes her hand, placing a kiss on her palm.

Suddenly, someone clears their throat making both of them pull away as they turn towards the girl standing in the staircase, eyes on her phone but she clearly had been standing there for a while now.

“Shopping?”
