Chapter 3

Brooke's Pov

I sighed lightly, "Sis? Do we have to go to school?" I nodded at Lilly, I was brushing my medium length, blonde hair. "Do you think the other kids will like me?" I smiled at her, "of course Lilly! They'll love you!" I said, she laughed, "well you head down stairs and get breakfast, I'll be down in a few," I said as she left, I slouched back into the seat at the vanity, "welp, better get this miserable day over with," I said to myself, I hopped out of the seat and looked through my clothes and settled for one of my crop tops and a tank top underneath, I slipped on my skinny jeans and ankle boots, I was stopped by a knock at the door, "come in," I said, "um, hey, so I thought that maybe after school today me and a friend of mine could take you out and shop for you some new clothes," she smiled, "why? What's wrong with my clothes?" I asked, "well nothings wrong with it, it's just- well- here we have a bit different style than what you would," I sighed loudly. "Let me guess, you guys think that since me and Lilly are from Tennessee that we ride horses, wear boots and cowboy hats, and all kinds of country things, well newsflash, we don't, we have then same stuff you all have, we just have a bit of an accent," I snapped, "oh, um I wasn't implying that you did, I was just trying to help, you know since you didn't get to bring a lot of your things," she said, "well no thanks, I don't want pity," I said and grabbed my bag, it was just something to carry my work and stuff in. Once I got downstairs I saw Lilly sitting and talking to the tall boy, "Brookie! I like this boy he's funny!" She squealed, "Hi! We never got to properly meet, I'm Luke Hemmings!" He smiled brightly, "Brooke, are we related in any way?" He laughed, "nope!" I was confused, "then why are you here?" I asked, "well I spent the night with my girl!" He said putting his arm around Hayley, "oh, I didn't even think of that," I said, "well you gonna eat before school?" My aunt asked, I thought about it before shaking my head no, "oh okay," she smiled, "well we better get going, Luke can drive us, and mom can you take Lilly?" Hayley asked her mom nodded, "bye Lilly, see you after school, okay?" I said, she nodded and hugged me, once we got outside Luke showed me to his car, I sat in the back, I just sat awkwardly, "Luke! We have to get you an Impala! We need Dean's car!" She squealed, I saw Luke laugh, "well I'll let you know if I see one," he said, "um what am I missing?" I asked, "Supernatural stuff," she smiled, "never watched it," she looked at me like I was crazy, "I'm sorry for what she's about to do," I was confused by Luke's words, "how do you live! Supernatural is life!" She shouted at me, "well your in luck we're here, so you don't have to get your ear talked off," he smiled, I was shocked, I thought my school was big, this place is huge! I sighed and got out, "here I'll show you to the office where you can get your information, locker, map, and schedule," Hayley said motioning for me to follow her, I walked behind her awkwardly, I couldn't help but notice all the stares I was getting and I saw people whispering but I chose to ignore what they were saying, "here just talk to the lady and she'll give you your stuff, and have someone show you around," she smiled and waved leaving, I walked into the office and saw a boy leaning against the wall, "well, well, well, what do we have here?" He said smugly, I simply rolled my eyes, "Names Ashton, what's yours cutie?" He asked leaning towards me, "Brooke, now please leave me alone," I said turning away and heading towards the desk, "Name?" "Chassidy Brooke Pritchard," I said, man I hate my first name, "here's your schedule, locker number and combination, and I will have a student come and show you around," she said with a bored tone, I simply nodded and sat in a chair, "so~ new kid huh?" Ashton said, "I thought I asked you to leave me alone," I said, " you did, I didn't listen," okay this boy is seriously getting on my nerves, "listen it's nice to meet you Ashton but I honestly don't want to talk to anyone as of right now," I said, "aw~ not even a sexy beast such as myself?" My face lit up bright red at that, "w-what?!?! I just met you!" I said completely shocked, do people here have no manners? I mean there were quite a few fuck boys at my old school but not even they acted this straight forward! "I don't really care if we "just met" I think your cute, so I won't leave you alone until you date me." He smirked, had I been in public and not in school I would have slapped him, "um hello? I was called to the office, I'm supposed to show a new student around," I looked over and saw a girl who looked a little older than me, she had brown ombre hair, glasses, and was wearing a Fall Out Boy shirt! I love FOB, they are one of my favorite bands, the front desk lady pointed at me and the girl walked up to me, "Hi! I'm Haley Poulin, what's your name?" She smiled at me, "I'm Cha- Brooke! I mean, I'm Brooke, nice to meet you, Haley," I smiled, "well I can tell you one thing if you need anything just ask! Also Ash, what are you doing to this poor girl?" I was surprised, I thought she was ignoring the fact he was staring at me, "Hey! I will have you know that I haven't done anything to this newbie!" He said gritting his teeth, did he seriously just call me a newbie? "yeah right Ash, you flirt with every girl you can get your playboy hands on, and she's blushing, so~ I know you did or said something to embarrass the girl!" She said glaring at him, "whatever! I don't need your input on who I flirt with!" He said, "well interesting you should say that~" she smirked at him, "why?" "This "newbie" just so happens to be the cousin of one of your best friend's girlfriend," I saw his face turn worried, "y-your her cousin!" He said obviously worried, "um yeah, if your talking about Hayley Rambo," I laughed slightly, he had a face that said 'I'm fucked' "Haley I swear if you tell her! I'll-" "you'll what?! You might have your band, but I have a Makenzie! Come at me!" She said, "uh, now now, no need to be rash!" He said, I was super confused by now. " Shouldn't we get going now?" Honestly I just wanted to get away from him, "of course! Come on, and Ash, don't get in to much trouble, okay?" She said sternly, "fine~" he whined, "well I guess I should tell you a bit about what just happened, huh?" She said laughing slightly, "um you don't have to," "well I insist! Okay so basically, that boy, who you probably already know, is Ashton or Ash as a few of his friends call him, is a good guy, sometimes, and is also a total flirt, and then there's his group of friends, Luke Hemmings, Michael Clifford, and Calum Hood, they're all really sweet guys and most of them have girlfriends, so don't go getting any ideas, believe me, and um? Oh! The whole Makenzie thing, she a friend of ours, me and my friends, and she can be a really good friend to have, and if someone picks on you, well~ let's just say they better hope they find a place where she can't find them," I listened intently to what she was saying, I had a few friends back home, but not a lot and most of us were outsiders who were scared to talk to people, only reason I know people was because of my boyfriend- well ex-boyfriend now, when I told him I'd be leaving and that we would have to have a long distance relationship, he told me that he had been seeing someone else, to say it hurt was an understatement. "Well here we are! This is your locker, if you need to put anything in there go ahead," "I don't tend to use a locker, ever," I said, "oh? Okay then follow me!" She said laughing, "so your first class is, Visual art 3? Did you take that a lot at your old school?" "Yeah I really enjoy it, it's soothing in a way," I said, " okay, hm~" she hummed thinking to herself, "right it's this way!" She shouted slightly, "follow me, also I never asked, why did you transfer? And where from?" She asked smiling, "well, I transferred from Tennessee actually, and I would rather not tell why I am here," I said frowning, "ah~ come on please? Hayley wouldn't tell us, and when Brianna asked she said, that she didn't know, but that obviously was a lie, so~" she definitely wanted to know, I sighed, "fine you want to know why I was forced to move to this school is because my parents died in a car accident and I was moved out here with the only relative I have, my aunt who I haven't seen since I was like 10, meaning my little sister doesn't even remember her since she was 4, so yeah you can see why I didn't want to talk about it," I said, tears forming in my eyes, "oh, I'm so sorry! I didn't know, I shouldn't have pried! But if you need anything just know I'm here, after all were friends!" I was confused by this, "we are?" I asked, "well duh! Of course!" She said cheerfully, "I- that's nice of you," I smiled, she stopped in front of a door, "well here we are, just explain to the teacher that your new and they will explain everything! I have to go to my class, thankfully my teacher knows I'm showing a new student around, another student will show you the way to your next class, also you have second lunch with me and few other friends, well bye~!" I waved as I walked into the classroom. This is gonna be an interesting day.
