Five Years Later
Ragini's POV
The sun was rising as I stood at the balcony, taking in the beautiful scenery when I heard small snores coming from the back. I looked behind at my husband, still soundly asleep on our king size bed. He was the very man whom I first regretted meeting in my life and today he was the reason behind my smile, everyday. It's been five years of our marriage and he gives me a new reason to love him every time. Glancing back at the coastal view from our room balcony, when I felt my robe being pulled down. I looked down at my little boy, Rishav holding my robe while rubbing his eyes.
Ragini: Hey little fella, why are you up so early?
Rishav: Aarav disturb me.
Ragini: Really? Where is he?
Rishav: Room.
Rishav wraps his small hand around my index finger, walking with me out of the room to his shared room with his twin brother, Aarav. As I went in, I looked at Aarav who have already started to make a mess of the room by scattering his toys.
Ragini: Aarav? What is all this?
Aarav: Playing.
Ragini: I get that you are playing, son but why make a mess? And can I know why you disturbed your sleeping brother?
Aarav: Sorry, mummy.
Ragini: You should apologise to you brother as well, darling.
Aarav: Sorry, Ris.
Rishav: It's okay.
Suddenly, I was startled by a cough from behind. Turning around, I saw Sanskar, leaning against the door frame watching us three. He walked towards our sons, giving them their morning hugs. He turns to me, giving me a small peck on my lips, wishing me good morning. He brought his hands to my baby bump and caressed it, asking how his baby girl was. Yes, I am six months pregnant with our next baby, which he was so sure to be a girl. He have also already found the baby a name, Samaira. To be honest, I too wish that I will be a girl as I am being outnumbered by the boys in my home.
Ragini: Baby Samaira is just fine. Since all of you are up, let me go and prepare breakfast.
Sanskar: No, love. You don't have to strain much.
Ragini: There is no straining, Sanskar. I love cooking for my family, so let me make breakfast.
Sanskar: Not today as me and the boys are going to prepare a surprise breakfast for Mommy. What say, boys?
Rishav & Aarav: Yayy!!
Ragini: Alright. But I'm warning you three. You better not burn my kitchen.
Sanskar and boys went down to the kitchen while I walked back to my room. I went into the bathroom to shower and came out after 15 minutes. I then walked into the walk-in closet of mine and took out my blue maternity dress to wear. After blow-drying my hair, I went down to the kitchen and found that it was empty. Hollering for my boys, I slowly walked to the garden where the breakfast was laid out on the wooden table. The boys and Sanskar was not there as there might been back inside to get showered. After waiting for 10 minutes, I was joined by them and we digged into our first meal of the day. I have to eat quick as I have an appointment with my gynaecologist in another one and half hour. Sanskar's mother should be here in a while as she will be taking care of the twins while me and Sanskar would be at the doctor's.

Sanskar's POV
We arrived at the hospital 15 minutes before our appointment time. Today we might know the gender of the baby and I'm really excited to go back and tell the twins that it will be a baby sister. Me and the boys are really excited for this baby. To be honest, I am also nervous as much I am excited for the baby. I'm nervous for Ragini as I don't want any complications in this pregnancy of hers like the first one. I almost lost my Ragini along with the boys four years ago.
Flashback....
I was driving extremely fast to the hospital as Ragini was crying in pain, sitting in the passenger seat. I screamed at the nurses and medical officers when she was not treated yet. Five minutes later, Ragini's gynaecologist, Dr. Summers came into the ward room and check on Ragini. I was later informed that Ragini have to go through a C-section due to the umbilical cord strapped around one of the twins neck. I was terrified with all my life, waiting outside the operation theatre while Ragini's in it, going through her C-section. After two hours of being restlessly waiting for the doctor to come out, Dr. Summers came out from the operation theater with a nurse along with her. She gave me the great news I have ever heard which was Ragini and both the twins are perfectly fine.
Flashback ends....
That day, four years ago was my both most scariest and happiest day of my life. The doctor called us into her room and Ragini was lying on the bed while the nurse prepared for the ultrasound. At the monitor, I saw bigger blip than the last time and now it looked like it has been growing body parts. My eyes were all tear-filled just like all this while as I saw my baby.
Dr. Summers: So, are you ready to know the gender?
Sanskar: I am. And I'm pretty sure that it's a girl.
Dr. Summers: How about you, Ragini? What do you think?
Ragini: I wish it's a girl too. I'm really being outnumbered by the men in my house.
Dr. Summers: Then, congratulations. It's a baby girl.
Yes!! It's a baby girl. Actually it's my baby girl and I'm going to be there for her all along. I'll make sure that she is really proud of her dad. I felt Ragini squeezing my hand and I looked down at her. A drop of tear skipped from her eye and I swiftly brushed it off.
The doctor's appointment went really well overall. There were not any complications in the pregnancy and both Ragini and my daughter are fine and healthy. While driving back to our home, I kept my one hand glued to Ragini's baby bump, taking it off only when necessary. I am really attached to my daughter ever since Ragini broke the news that I'm going to be a father again earlier this year. Even the boys are really close and protective about their upcoming sister.
Sanskar: Thank you, Ragini.
Ragini: Thanks for what, Sanskar?
Sanskar: For everything. For coming into my life, for accepting my love, for loving me back, for being the best wife one can ask for, for being the best mommy for our kids and for taking me with all you heart. I love so much.
Ragini: Sanskar, if anyone should be thanking, then it must be me. First, you saved my life, gave me place to stay although it was forcefully at the beginning, then loving me when you could have anyone in your life, marrying me and being the best father for the kids. You gave me the family that I have yearned for years. Thank you and I love you too.
Sanskar: I love you 3000.
Ragini: Stop with the movie reference! You should really stop watching action movies with the twins.
Sanskar: You're right. Now I'll have to know and watch all the Disney princess movies for my little girl, so that we can have father-daughter day, watching the movies and singing along with the characters.
Ragini: You're unbelievable and you tend to spoil them a lot. Ouch!!
Sanskar: What happened?!
Ragini: She kicked me! She kicked me for scolding you.
Sanskar: Way to go, princess.
Ragini: So, she's the princess now? So what does that make me?
Sanskar: Hmm.... Let's see... The queen of my heart.
Ragini: Stop it! I can tell you one thing that this daughter will surely be your daddy's little princess.
Sanskar: Not only that. She will also be daddy's pride.
Ragini: Well, that means I'm left with my boys I guess.
Sanskar: Will that include me?
Ragini: I'll have to think about it.
Sanskar: Really?!
Ragini laughed at my timely expression and gave me a kiss on the cheek. She is indeed the queen of my heart and she will always be that way. I love her forever and always.
The End.
