Word of God: Genesis 3:9

"And the Lord called unto Adam, and said unto him, where art thou?"

There are 3 things I'd like to emphasize given this verse. Though, some Christian may have a different take on this verse, like my sister as she reflected on this she asked herself, "Where am i in my faith in God? What level am i in?"

It's really amazing how God communicate to us differently... indeed our God is great! Today I'll share my understanding and God's message for me through this verse.

THE THREE TRUTHS.

First, We are lost.

Second, God is seeking the lost.

Third, God intends to save the lost.

1. We are lost. (Man is lost)

Adam & Eve driven out of garden of eden because they have disobeyed God. (Gen. 3:23-24)

What happened on that day was the start of man being lost.

Our sin separates us from God. (Isaiah 59:2)

It is only with God that we are found, we are home in Him alone. Why? because He created us. Without Him we are lost.

Man became lost because of what we have done.

Being lost, means the journey ahead is uncertain, fear arises, destruction is at hand and death is inevitable. And by death i mean the final destination or end of the journey for those lost is, hell.

Again, we are lost because of our own crooked ways. And because of what we have done, we deserve hell.

That is the first truth, we are lost & separated from God, but fear not because God is seeking the lost, and that is the second truth.

2. God is seeking the lost.

"What do you think? If a man has a hundred sheep, and one of them has gone astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine on the mountains and go in search of the one that went astray?" -Matthew 18:12

You know what? I believe you wouldn't be reading this, if God hadn't seek you...

God would do just that, leaving those who already believed in him insearch for the lost.

Isn't it amazing how God is searching for us, when we were the ones who run away & became lost in the process?

We are responsible of our actions, and we deserve death and hell. It's so amazing that God doesn't want that as our end, rather He wants to be with us and give us life.

I need you to read Gen. 3:9 again in a way God is calling you change "Adam" to "your name" and to "him" to "you".

"And the Lord called unto _______, and said unto ___, where art thou?"

Where ever you are, God is calling you. Reflect on that fact.

According to A.W. Tozer,

"Sacred scripture declares plainly that the inhabitants of the earth are lost. They are lost by mighty calamitous visitation of woe which come upon them...

But it also reveals a glorious fact- that this lost race has not been given up! (God hasn't stop) There's is a divine voice that continues to call. It is the voice of the Creator, God... calling us back."

Everyone is on a different path right now... a path of sin. Walking towards death. What do you expect? You're lost.

Or to some we were once on the wrong track of life...

But if you heard God's voice calling your name and look back, and saw God in the process, you will be saved.

And that is the third truth, God called you because He intend to save you.

3. God intends to save the lost.

"For the Son of Man is come to seek and save that which was lost." -Luke 19:10

Imagine yourself walking away, then you heard a voice calling out your name... The voice calling your name then the voice said, "where are you?"

The normal reaction would be, to look back, right? Since your name is mention,you assume the person calling know who you are. God knows you!

It's fascinating that God calls you by your name! That is an implication that He has chosen you... long before. He knows who you are and He wants you and chose you to be with Him.

"You didn't choose me, i chose you..."

If God would call you right now. The best thing to do is to look back and say to Him, "Here i am, Lord."

Then God would say, "Follow me."

He will lead us in the right path. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. (John 14:6) There is no other way but Him.

We left God and chose sin, the things that pleases us, drugs, lust, etc... those that displeases God, those that will lead us to death, yet despite or sin God chose us and He wants to save us...

It's ironic that people strive to live on a day to day basis to sustain life, yet in every decision they make, they always or sometimes unconsciously choose death...

Follow Jesus and you will be saved.

"I will seek the lost, & i will bring back the strayed, and i will bind up the injured and will strengthen the weak..." -Ezekiel 34:16

Though the enemy lures us towards death, God is giving us life. It is not enough that He has given us life, He is going to destroy death. We are indeed more than conquerors. We didn't do anything, we just believed.

That's what Jesus manifested when He died and on the third day rose again. Defeating death.

1 Corinthians 15:56-57

"The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ."

To end my message, I'd like to share a quote in Tumblr.

"Some paths can't be discovered without getting lost." -Unknown

"Some people needs to experience darkness to appreciate light." -Unknown

"Some people need to lost something to fully appreciate it's existence." -Unknown

We are like that... we often or most of the time regret on anything and later on realize the importance of something or someone.

But i hope we may not realize it late... and suffer greater consequences in the process.

Let us not be those people digging their own graves. Because before knowing Christ and in every sin we commit, we are doing just that. Who is in their right mind would do that?

But praise God for what He has done in our lives. We are victorious and we are more than conquerors thru our faith in Him.

We need to know this 3 truths and accept them that we are lost. Yet God is searching for us... and to save us. Those 3 truths makes as victorious, a fact, satan can't take away from us that God is calling us back to Him.
