9. Phone astrologer from Ababwa
She turned and speculated him having two cups in his hands. His eyes showed a sort of concern for her. She likes it.
"Yes, fine." She lied.
"No, you are not. You seemed to be disturbed." Manik stated.
"How could you even say that after I gave a good explanation to the client?" Disha inquired him with a fake grin.
"Yes, you did the presentation well. But, you are pale and vexed from the morning. Is there any problem?" Manik asked her with concern.
"Nothing...Not a big problem. I am missing my mom." Disha blurted out looking at the sand and bricks beside her.
Her eyelids began to well up with tears that were threatening to burst. Manik caught her rapidly wiping it off. Manik chose to change the subject.
"Hold this cup and drink it," Manik demanded.
"I told you already I don't like coffee." Disha fumed.
"Yes, I know it. So only I have brought lemonade for you. Just drink it. Your problems will all be resolved." Manik motivated her.
"Did you add any magical ingredients to this lemonade to solve my problem?" Disha mocked him.
"I will solve your problem. First, drink it." Manik ordered.
"Fine, I will drink. Tell me a solution." Disha forwarded her hand and got the cup from him.
"You can make a video call and talk to her. If you miss her, just talk to her for a minute." Manik motivated her.
"How? How can I talk to her?" Disha cried out thinking about her mom.
"By your mouth." Manik took a sip of his coffee and got a glare from Disha.
"She is angry with me." Disha sobbed.
"Mother's love and affection towards the child is pure. She won't be angry with you. Talk with her." Manik told in his husky voice completing his coffee.
"If I talk with her, my father will find me. That I am in Mumbai." Disha panicked.
She did not doubt that her father would track out her mother's phone call.
"OK, fine. You will be happy if you just listen to your mother's voice, won't you?" Manik asked her.
Disha nodded and drank the juice. Manik started to tap Disha's mother's number on his phone as Disha was reciting it. He dialed the number. The ring sound came, and Manik turned the speaker on his phone. The phone ring sound came to an end. As Disha's mother attended the call.
"Hello!" Disha's mother voiced out.
"My name is Euphoria Diamond. I am the phone astrologer from Ababwa. I can predict the past, present, and future of the person if you just tell the name of the person." Manik enthusiastically disguised himself as an astrologer in the phone call.
His sweet voice changed into a hoarse voice. Disha blinked as she didn't know what this man was doing. She looked at him with her odd face.
"Are you trying to deceive me? I know this is a spam call. You are trying to collect money from me. My Disha had warned me not to talk with strangers like you. I am going to disconnect the call." Disha's mother scoffed.
"No, it is a free social service. This is not a spam call. Ok, I will tell you the life of Disha. Then you can believe me." Manik managed with his words.
"Come on, tell me. I am one hundred percent sure, you will tell it wrongly." Disha's mother challenged him.
"Oh my god, Disha had escaped from her wedding with a handsome young man. Isn't it true? Manik asked her with a fake panic voice.
"Yes, you are correct. How did you know?" Disha's mother eagerly asked.
"Because I am that handsome young man." He murmured in his husky voice in a way that Disha's mother couldn't hear on the phone.
But he didn't know Disha was standing in that place, Disha pinched his arms and asked him to continue his interaction with her mom.
"Ahhh!" He screamed because of the pinching effect.
"What happened?" Disha's mother fevered from the other side.
"Nothing, I know everything about your daughter." Manik boldly told.
"Is she happy? Is she safe? Is she having her breakfast, lunch, and dinner correctly? Is she sleeping at the correct time? Is she adapted to her new surroundings?" Disha's mother was throwing questions at Manik.
Tears brimmed in her eyes. She couldn't control it anymore. She placed her palm near her mouth. She cried uncontrollably. At that moment, she wanted to place her head in her mother's lap and tell her how happy she was. Manik brushed his hand on her hand and gestured for her to stop crying.
"She is happy and safe. Her job is giving her immense joy and happiness. She is healthy, but..." Manik halted glimpsing at Disha's tears droplets on her cheeks.
"But... What? Is she fine?" Disha's Mother panicked from the other side.
"But she is missing someone in her life." Manik contended.
"I know it. That must be that handsome young man. She must be missing him." Disha's mother completed as Manik gave a flying kiss to her mother through the phone.
Disha chuckled with tears in her eyes because of the interaction between fibber Manik and her innocent Mother.
"No, she misses her mother. She worries about her mother." Manik announced in his deep voice.
Disha's mother was sobbing over the phone. Manik was at a loss for what to do.
"What happened? Why are you crying?" Manik enquired her.
"I also miss her. Her scolding and adamant behavior, I miss her." Disha's mother said, wiping the tear.
"Fine mam, we will talk to you on another auspicious day. 1000 customers are waiting for us. Bye." Manik confessed as Krish gestured for them to come back to work.
"You didn't tell me about her future. Did she marry that handsome young man?" Disha's mom worried.
"No, She didn't marry that man. But, She will marry a billionaire and get all the love and joy in her life. She will be independent and achieve all success in her life. She will also have ten children in her life. Ok, bye." Manik concluded as he saw Disha's hand reaching to twist his ears.
Manik warned her to not come near him. She stopped her action and thanked him with her eyes.
"Are you happy now?" Manik asked.
"Yes, but you predicted my future wrongly," Disha confessed, walking towards the workplace.
"Yes, I said it, wrongly, you will have twenty children in your life." Manik expressed playfully.
Disha was searching for something around her. Manik was perplexed viewing her. He raised his brow enquiring her what she was searching for.
"Just for a brick to break you head. So that I can see whether your blood is blue or red." Disha announced as Manik started to run to the work location playfully.
Disha grinned and followed him as well. He turned to face her, with his beaming lips. Different love melodies played in her thoughts as her internal organs danced, speculating about his dazzling face.
After interacting with Krish and other teammates, they perfectly executed their plan and idea. After a hectic day at the construction site, Disha went beside Manik when they returned to the car.
"My dear Euphoria Diamond and phone astrologer, are you from Saudi Arabia?" Disha whispered.
"No, I am not. Why?" Manik denied.
"I have searched in Google Maps. I didn't find any place like Ababwa in India." Disha responded.
Manik chuckled loudly as Disha was perplexed by his sudden laugh. Manik couldn't control his laughter.
"Ababwa is the name of the fictional kingdom created by Genie for Aladdin as a part of his first wish to be a Prince. Yesterday, I saw the Aladdin movie. So, I just blabbered at that moment to interact with your mother on the phone. " Manik elaborated.
"I should be very careful with you. Seriously, you can even lie flawlessly. I am amused." Disha praised him.
"Are you happy now?" Manik asked her again.
"Indeed, I am," Disha announced with a broad smile.
Yes, she was happy not only after hearing her mother's voice but also after her entire day with Manik. She was pleased by him when he was bothered about her happiness. She wanted to get closer to Manik, her heart agreed but her mind denied it.
The teammates were returning in the car to their home. Geetha and Sneha were grooving to the song. But Disha's heart was beating fast as she was seeing Manik's face in the car's rearview mirror. He was sleeping as he was exhausted. But she was admiring this man.
How could he even grin beautifully in his peaceful sleep?
Everyone experienced a jerk inside the car as Deepak was about to bump into some man. Disha realized that Deepak had turned the steering in the car and applied the brake quickly by the sudden appearance of the man. Now, she understood the reason for jerkiness. Manik's sleep was disturbed, and Sneha and Geetha were panicked. Disha was breathing hard by the sudden effect.
"Hey, stupid driver, you have fractured my leg give me one crore or I will break your car window." The sudden drunkard man shouted spinning the wine bottle in his hand.
Disha had experienced the same situation, but she realized that the amount value alone had increased 100 times. She glimpsed outside and again viewed back inside.
Astonishment, shock, perplexed, and appalled were reactions given by her teammates inside the car. Disha was smirking at her teammates and that sudden drunkard man.
"Why this drunkard man and beggar we saw in the morning seem to have same face?" Geetha perplexed.
"May be there might be twins." Sneha gave an appalling reaction.
"He is wearing the same shirt which he wore in the morning." Deepak astonished.
"Morning, he acts like a beggar and gets money from everyone. At night time, he drinks wine and gets money by threatening everyone." Manik predicted gazing at Disha's face in the rear view mirror.
"Hello driver, I need money right now." The drunkard man danced in front of the car with empty glass bottle in hand.
"He seemed to be like a pity street dancer. Give him a one lakh amount and make him billionaire drunkard man in the country and he will soon dance in front of the aeroplane." Disha mocked at the four stupid's sitting inside the car.
"So you know about him." Manik gasped at her.
"Yes, I know him. Few days before I had seen this man, when he had done the same thing to my cab driver. Now, today morning, he pretended to be as beggar. Anger aroused in me, so I spoke harshly with him." Disha contended as everyone remained silent.
"I am not a fairy tale princess to show pity to everyone in this world. I am a modern Indian girl who know the value of money and I respect the people who deserves it." Disha confessed making everyone gasp.
Why does my heart melt for Disha?
Manik gazed at her differently. Yes, she is not a diamond or gold. But she is a rare gemstone which he wanted to cherish in his life forever.
Is Manik falling in love with Disha?
