38. Envy?
Disha didn't know what to say. Manik agitated, speculating Disha's silence. Disha gazed at her parents. Disha's parents were desperate for her reply to tell Udaipur. Kalyani was in fun mode to annoy her son. Disha saw only Kalyani's love and affection for her and Manik.
Disha's eyes met Manik's eyes. Manik's left hand went to his shirt's collar area. He tugged on the collar button. As a result, Disha discovered Manik's Adam's apple. She had a crazy imagination of kissing his Adam's apple at that moment.
His fingers moved to unbutton the next shirt button, making her remember the moment in the early morning between them.
Stay. Just stay with me.
Her mind repeated the words he had said to her alone after that goodbye kisses. Disha gulped hard, seeing his Adam's apple and exposed middle chest area.
"Is Mumbai too hot, my son?" Kalyani teased him.
"Yes, mom. Too hot. Isn't Disha?" Manik asked, choking up Disha.
"Yes, too hot to handle." Disha expressed taking the last morsel of biryani in her spoon.
Madhvi and Vikram were perplexed by the conversation happening between the trios.
"Disha?" Madhvi called out, as she wanted a reply from her.
"I need time. I will tell it in the morning." Disha stood up, completing her food.
"Disha, we need an answer. Why do you want to stay with a man who wanted a divorce from you?" Vikram scoffed.
"Maya tried to create a conflict between us using the divorce notice. Manik never wanted to divorce me. I am happy and content with Manik." Disha replied.
"I made the biggest mistake. I shouldn't have forced Manik to marry you." Madhvi announced.
"Madhvi is right. Your marriage shouldn't have happened with him. Manik's stepbrother is ready to marry you. You might have lived in the palace, not in this apartment. After all, he is just a project manager. Come with us." Vikram expressed.
"That's not going to happen!" Disha vociferated.
Disha glimpsed at Manik and Kalyani. They remained silent. They decided not to be involved in the conversation.
"You forced my marriage with Manik. But Manik never forced me to make any decisions in my life. He treated me properly, giving importance to my decisions and opinions." Disha expressed, walking towards the kitchen.
Manik didn't express anything. He stood up to wash his hands and plates.
"I don't know what magic you did to my daughter. She is always swirling around you like mad." Vikram scorned Manik.
"If you treated her properly like your princess, she would have listened to you and swirled around you. But you didn't care about her. You thought of her as a burden." Manik roared before them.
"Disha solely belongs to me. She will stay with me." Manik whispered hoarsely in his tone, walking towards his room.
"Madhvi, believe my son for once. He will take care of Disha." Kalyani declared.
"To be honest! Maya told us a different story about Manik and Disha. But we witnessed a new drama from the morning with Disha and Manik. All I wanted, Disha, was to be with splendid joy." Madhvi expressed.
"Give them some time," Kalyani announced.
Madhvi and Vikram knew that Disha would never come with them. They decided to depart for Udaipur that night. Madhvi glimpsed at her son-in-law for the last time. Manik's positive aura was enough for Madhvi to believe him. She felt that Manik would take care of Disha.
---
Disha couldn't sleep. She was lying next to her mother-in-law in Manik's bedroom. Kalyani slept peacefully, covering herself with a fluffy blanket. Kalyani ordered Manik to sleep in Disha's bedroom on the floor. Manik refused to sleep on the floor.
Disha chuckled when she saw Kalyani kick Manik out of his bedroom. She scolded her son for staying in the tiny apartment.
Disha took a deep breath as she was struggling to sleep. She was used to sleeping in Manik's arms. She sat up on the bed without disturbing Kalyani.
Disha crept from Manik's bedroom to her bedroom. She gently twisted the knob to open the door. Without making any screech sounds, she crept inside the room towards Manik.
Disha speculated that Manik was sleeping on the balcony with a pillow on his head. She was astonished to see him lying half-naked. Yes, he was not wearing any shirt. She trailed toward him.
Disha noticed him sleeping on his back with his right arm spreading wide on his side. Disha composed herself to go and sit next to him.
She lay on the floor next to him. Her head rested in his right-toned arms. His well-built muscular arms are a thousand times more comfortable than her pillow. She adored her man, sleeping peacefully on the balcony area in the moonlight.
Disha felt Manik's right arm circling and tugging more closely towards him. The sudden moment made her spine shiver as goose bumps happened on her body due to the feeling of touching his warm, bare upper chest. She felt like she had disturbed Manik's sleep.
Disha raised her head to see whether he was awake or asleep. She witnessed the closed eyes of Manik, but what drew her attention was Manik's mischievous smile on his bow-shaped lips. You bet! This smile was the first reason she fell harder for this man.
He is not sleeping.
"Didn't my euphoria, Diamond, sleep yet?" Disha snuggled her face into his bare chest.
"My celestial angel is still awake and perhaps far away from me. Then, how could I sleep without her by my side?" Manik drew her so close to him, opening his eyelids.
Manik was making sure not even a breeze or air should separate them. Disha rested her head on his chest. Disha felt Manik's arm clenching around her body. Disha lifted her head, placing her chin on his chest.
"Disha, What have you decided?" Manik enquired.
The other reason Manik couldn't sleep was that he felt that Disha would distance herself from him.
"My decisions have been my priority. When someone else makes decisions for me in life, I don't enjoy it. But from now on, I will agree to whatever decision you take in our lives." Disha expressed.
"So then..."Manik stammered.
"I will stay with you. I will stay with you until you think our relationship goes smoothly. It will not become committed at any time until you decide." Disha declared, planting a kiss on Adam's apple.
Manik had a tingling sensation. He giggled like a kid when Disha did that.
"I am serious. How could you laugh at me?" Disha frustrated.
"Don't kiss my neck area. It creates a tingling sensation inside me." Manik confessed.
"Oh! You ought not to have told me that. You made a mistake." Disha planted a kiss again on Adam's apple.
Manik chuckled out loud as Disha giggled along with him. Soon, the giggling sound disappeared into the air when Manik speculated on Disha's radiant and glowing face in the moonlight. He remembered the moment when they first met up together in Udaipur.
The most memorable moment was when he saw his middle name in her palm, written between mehendi designs.
"Disha!" Manik whispered as Disha raised her head.
"I wanted to tell you. The reason why I hid my identity from you..."Manik shuddered with a desire to express his truth.
Manik knew the conversation about this was supposed to create a distance between him and Disha. He was unable to sleep peacefully after hurting her by not telling her his own identity. He felt guilty for not telling the truth.
Manik was stunned when he realized Disha had kissed him on his right cheek. Her palm traveled toward his other cheeks. Her chill palms made him relax.
"Disha! Allow me to explain." Manik mumbled.
"I don't want any explanation. I can understand. I don't mind if you are Adidev or Manik. All I knew was that you were my euphoria diamond." Disha murmured, and her lips traveled to his forehead.
Disha's thin lips kissed him on the forehead. Manik felt overwhelmed. He nuzzled in her swan-like neck when she was busy kissing his forehead. She smiled, knowing that it was his favorite place. Both slept with tranquility in each other's arms.
---
Early in the morning, Manik found himself wrapped in Disha's arms. Not even the luxurious blankets covered around him could match the warmth and coziness given by his angel.
His phone's ringtone disturbed Disha's sleep and Manik's gawking session with his wife. Disha rubbed her eyes to wake up, but Manik caressed her forehead, gesturing for her to nap. She hugged him back tightly.
He observed the phone screen and witnessed Avi Gaikwad's name displayed on the screen. He swiped up, attending the call.
"Sorry to disturb you. There is no improvement in finding out who hacked the mail account of Krish Chauhan. But I found something related to Akash." Avi denoted from the other side.
"Ok, Avi. Proceed with finding the truth. I will do any help from my side." Manik murmured in a sleepy tone.
Manik disconnected the call. He gazed at Disha. She was contemplating who called Manik early in the morning.
Manik explained everything to Disha. Disha listened to him carefully. She promised him everything would be fine. An idea came into her mind, but she remained silent as she felt uncomfortable telling him about it.
"Angel, don't imagine too much. OMG! Look at the moonset. The moon seemed luminous and mystic." Manik whispered, gazing at the western sky.
"Look at this side. Sunrise is the best. Look at the majestic sun and its sparkling sunlight." Disha uttered, pointing her index finger at the east side of the sky.
Manik stared in the direction of the sun. It was stupendous to see the moon and sun at the same time.
"Manik, which seemed to be the best moment for you? Watching radiant moonlight setting in the morning or a vibrant beam of sunray from sunlight?" Disha inquired, glimpsing at the sun and moon.
"Neither!" Manik confessed blankly.
"What?" Disha was perplexed.
"Your radiant glow on your face with a naïve smile wins over the radiant moonlight setting in the morning. Your sparkling eyes create a positive vibration inside me, even when the big fireball fails to do that to me. So my best moment is staring at you the entire day rather than the moon or sun." Manik replied, startling Disha with his words.
"I think the moon and sun are glowering at us. The sun is going to send solar flares upon us." Disha blushed, hiding her face in his chest.
"No, they are not glowering at us," Manik confessed.
"Then?" Disha asked, still hiding her blushing smile.
Manik lifted her face from his chest using his palms. Her puffy cheeks perfectly fit his rough palms.
"Moon and sun must be envious to see your radiant glow face and sparkling eyes, as you are better than them." Manik adored her as Disha's cheeks became crimson.
"Envy?" Disha grinned, staring into his eyes.
"Yes!" Manik drew her cheeks delicately towards his lips.
Her grin disappeared, raising her desire to appear for him. Manik sealed her lips with his lips. She responded to him. Her entire body had goosebumps for the kiss she shared with Manik.
Her heart flipped, her tummy had a butterfly effect, and her mind stayed quiet without debating with her heart. Manik deepened the kiss by exploring every nook and cranny of the lips.
After ravishing Disha's lips with his sweet kiss, Manik left her lips reluctantly with a heavy heart.
Disha nuzzled her head with his forehead. Manik could feel the intense warmth of her breath emitting across his cheeks due to their proximity and kissing impact. Reluctantly, they both returned to their sitting positions.
Walking out of the room, both witnessed Kalyani arranging breakfast on the table. Kalyani had a meeting in Pune in the afternoon. She prepared everything for the couple before she could leave for Pune.
"Adidev, you didn't sleep alone in that room." Kalyani gazed at her son, standing shirtless.
Manik smirked at his mom as Disha felt embarrassed when Manik and Kalyani's eyes flickered towards her mischievously.
"Sorry, Aunt! I felt guilt for him. So I went..." Disha stammered as Kalyani smiled.
"OK, I will pack your bags. We will go to London tonight." Kalyani lied to annoy her son.
Disha was astonished when Manik's arm wrapped around her waist from her back.
"Sorry to break your heart, mom. But Disha had planned to stay with me." Manik announced it with a charming smile on his lips.
Disha struggled to get away from his arm with a shy smile. But Manik was adamant, performing the back hug. Disha felt awkward standing before her mother-in-law with her husband hugging her from behind. Manik didn't care about it.
"Fine. But still, my offer is on. You can come to London to explore your job in Chauhan construction." Kalyani announced, gathering her stuff.
"Whenever I see you early in the morning, why are you standing shirtless with Disha?" Kalyani interrogated, trailing towards the main door.
"Disha has a habit of tearing my shirt at night while in bed." Manik expounded as Disha made a fake glare, still in his hold.
"Fibster!" Disha announced this as Kalyani chuckled, bidding bye to them.
Disha frequently glimpsed at Manik. Even Manik to notice when they are getting ready to go for the office.
"Do you want to tell me anything?" Manik enquired taking the bike keys.
"I knew that Krish's email account hacked. You shared with me that no one from cybercrime can find the hacker. Shall we find it ourselves?" Disha asked.
"How?" Manik baffled.
"Damini's job is related to the software industry. She must have known any private hackers. Shall we ask for help from her?" Disha's idea created hope inside Manik.
"Of course. But we will meet Damini directly in a café or at the park. We can't have this conversation on the phone." Manik confirmed.
Disha made a phone call to Damini. Damini agreed to have a conversation with them in the café immediately. Without delaying, Manik and Disha reached the café on the bike. Disha didn't forget to cuddle her euphoria diamond during the bike ride.
Krish received a message from Manik. So, Krish reached the café. To give details about his email account that got hacked. Damini arrived before them. She sipped the coffee in her cup when Manik, Disha, and Krish entered the cafe.
Manik and Krish explained everything to Damini. Damini listened to the entire conversation with utter focus.
"I know a gray hat hacker," Damini confessed, contemplating deeply.
"Gray means?" Disha enquired.
"White hat hackers investigate cybersecurity flaws to assist firms in developing stronger security. Black hat hackers work for evil purposes. Gray hat hackers fall somewhere in between - they're not malicious. But they're also not necessarily ethical. They try to show they are superior in the technical field. They used to hack for fun." Damini explained.
"Shall we ask for help from that gray hat hacker to find out who hacked my mail?" Krish eagerly insisted.
"To be honest, he is arrogant. But he will do anything if I ask for him. The problem is..." Damini paused.
"Our relationship is civil. I have a dread of meeting that gray hat hacker aloof. If you people support me, I will message him." Damini expressed.
"Why are you speaking like this? You are going to do the greatest help to us. How could we not support you? We will meet him together." Manik gave her hope.
Damini messaged the gray hat hacker. What shocked everyone was he was desperate to meet her immediately alone.
Except for Damini, everyone went to the other table in the cafe. Everyone was stunned to know that he would reach in five minutes.
After five minutes, a man entered wearing a cap on his head and a mask on his face. He seemed like a powerful man with his bold walk. He reached Damini's table. He removed his mask before Damini.
Disha noticed Damini's hand shivering. The trio understood that he must be a gray hat hacker. She speculated that man's face.
"Is he a hacker?" Disha fevered, looking at appalled Krish and fiery Manik.
Who is that gray hat hacker?
Will he find the person who hacked Krish's mail account?
