20. Butterfly walking on her arms
Disha was pissed off to see Manik had a broad smile on his lips when that lady kissed him on the cheeks. She even forgot to breathe after seeing Manik's response to the lady.
How dare she kiss my husband?
Her glowering section came to an end when Manik noticed Disha's presence. Her eyes went to the floor, and she gritted her teeth to control her vexation. She bent down and grabbed the form from the floor.
Even I have never kissed Manik.
Her heart refused to pump the blood, as it had decided to freeze after seeing her closeness with that lady. Geetha frantically walked towards Manik, clutching the file in her hand. Disha followed her.
"Who are you? Don't you know how to behave in a public place?" Geetha fumed, looking at the lady.
Manik and Disha were glaring at each other. Disha decided not to speak. She observed only Manik's expression.
"I am Maya Chauhan, the new legal advisor of Jaidev Construction." That lady declared it with pride on her face.
"Is there any rule that a legal advisor should kiss the project manager of Jaidev Construction?" Geetha mocked Maya.
"I don't find anything wrong with kissing my lover," Maya announced, winking at Geetha.
Disha was perplexed after knowing it, while Geetha's palm turned into a fist. During Geetha and Maya's argument, Manik and Disha were having an eye-to-eye war. Maya again and again mentioned Manik as ' my lover' which annoyed Disha. Her forehead turned into a furrow as Manik realized Disha didn't like Maya.
Geetha couldn't win the argument as Maya made her shut with her tactic speech, as she had studied for a lawyer. Disha's eyebrows rose, asking for an explanation from Manik about Maya.
"Maya, please stop it. Geetha, I am not her lover; we are just friends. Maya is the younger sister of Krish Chauhan." Manik elaborated on her.
Maya forced a smile on her lips towards Geetha and Disha. But she didn't like the way Manik introduced her. She would have defended Manik's words. The only reason for not arguing with Manik is that she projected herself as a good human being in front of Manik.
"Geetha, I will sign the files now. Come inside the cabin. Disha, wait outside until Geetha returns from my cabin." Krish announced, walking back inside his cabin.
Disha stood outside, observing Manik and Maya's moves. She wasn't pleased to see Manik with someone else. Maya circled her arms around Manik's well-built, muscular arms.
"Please, I am hungry. Let's go and have your favorite coffee together." Maya invited him for a coffee date directly.
Manik didn't avoid her, as he accompanied Maya, which irritated Disha a lot. Disha hated it when Manik didn't avoid her. Both left the place to have coffee, increasing Disha's stress level.
Why did Manik allow it when Maya was clinging to him?
So Manik likes Maya, but why didn't he accept it as love?
Geetha broke her inquiry section, which was going inside her brain, by brushing her palm on Disha's shoulder. Geetha instructed her to go in as Disha went inside the cabin. She submitted a form, handing it over to Krish.
"Do you think that you can win in this competition?" Krish inquired.
"Yes, I have lots of trust in my talent. So, I can win this. I assure you that I will put my hard work and dedication into my work." Disha explained.
"Fine, So, submit your designs to me. I will check it out." Krish pronounced it as both exchanged a warm grin.
When she came out of the cabin, her legs rushed towards the cafeteria. She didn't care about the people who were looking at her strangely. She ran as fast as she could. When she reached the cafeteria, she saw Manik scrolling on the phone, sitting in the chair. He had a placid expression on his face. Disha thought it would be the best time to speak as she approached Manik.
"Maya, have you brought the coffee? Why are you standing? Just sit down."Manik mumbled, tapping his phone.
"I am Disha, not Maya," Disha said in a hoarse voice.
His eyebrows raised, and he asked her why she was standing near him.
"I wanted to explain to you everything very clearly. For that, I need to talk to you." Disha's voice was calm, but a storm was going through her after seeing Manik with Maya.
"I am not interested," Manik stated very clearly without looking at her.
"Yes, I know that you are not interested in me. You have changed your interest in someone else." Disha mumbled as her heart felt heavy.
Manik could understand the jealousy in Disha's eyes. But he can never forgive her for what she has done to him. So he again started to scroll on his phone.
"Enjoy your day with her." Disha expressed her decision to stand and leave.
Disha stumbled on someone, and the realization hit her that it was Maya who was standing behind them and eavesdropping on their conversation. One of the coffee cups in Maya's hand trembled and fell on Disha's lower arm.
Disha screamed in pain as hot coffee was poured into her left hand. Her arms began to turn a crimson color. Manik had a panic on his face when he saw Disha's arm.
"Disha!" Manik let out a scream higher than Disha as if the coffee had been poured into his hands. But it was on Disha's arm.
Seeing Manik's eyes, which were struggling to cure her hands, made her heart light. To gain the attention of Manik, Maya poured it on her white crop top. In such a way that hot coffee doesn't make contact with her skin.
But Manik's eyes didn't move from Disha as he held her wrist gently. Manik pulled her towards the washroom. After reaching the washroom, Manik splashed the water on her hands. The water's coldness gave some relief to Disha. Disha's eyes had tears, and Manik noticed it.
"I am sorry, I should have watched before standing up." Disha cried as cold water splashed against her skin.
Manik couldn't tolerate the tears in her eyes. He didn't know how to console her or control the pain in her arms. Her tears halted when he started to speak with her.
"Disha, two coffee cups got married to each other. Do you know why they married each other?" Manik placed a question for her.
"Why are two coffee cups going to marry? Only a boy and girl get married to each other." Disha argued, forgetting the pain in her arms.
"Don't look at the logic. Again, I am asking. Two coffee cups got married to each other. Do you know why they married each other?" Manik asked her in a mischievous tone.
"Are the two coffee cups best friends or enemies? Have they met before? Do both like each other?" Disha doubted as Manik took a deep sigh.
"Disha, I am asking you a simple question; instead of answering it, you are throwing a lot of questions at me." Manik playfully made a fake vexation.
"Ok, tell it again clearly." Disha pleaded as he grinned.
"A male coffee cup and a female coffee cup met each other on an auspicious day for the first time. Two coffee cups got married to each other after looking at each other for the first time. Do you know why they married each other?" Manik elaborated on it while she was busy admiring the corner of his lips, which was a priceless moment for her.
"I don't know." Disha bewildered.
"Because they are meant to bean together," Manik pronounced, producing a charming smile on his face.
"I can't understand," Disha announced.
"Bean! The two coffee cups are meant to bean together." Manik chuckled, announcing it.
Looking at the smile on his face, her heart skipped a beat. She smiled after seeing his enthusiastic smile, not for his bad joke.
"So, the two coffee cups are meant to be brewed together. What about us?" Disha asked him.
Both were staring at each other. He didn't expect Disha to ask a critical question about their marriage life. Both were lost in each other's eyes. She wanted to hug Manik and cry, resting her head on his chest. But she wasn't sure about Manik's interest in her.
Finally, the staring section of both came to an end. Deepak, Geetha, and Maya entered the washroom. Deepak was carrying a first-aid kit in his hand.
"Disha, how are your hands now? Oh my god, it is so horrible. You seem to have burned your hands. Let's apply ointment to your hands." Deepak was amused, taking ointment in his hand.
"Maya, How did you change your white top so quickly? You are amazing, dude." Manik praised Maya's square-neck sleeveless white crop top, which had been turned into a brownish crop top because of the coffee effect.
Disha realized how Maya's shirt color changed as she speculated when she was near Maya. But mischievous happiness happened inside her heart when she came to know Manik didn't observe Maya pouring the coffee cup on herself. Maya gave an unbelievable look.
"I like the design of this crop top. It was better than the previous one." Manik complimented.
"It is not a design." Maya pushed him aside, walking towards the water tap to remove the coffee dirtiness from her shirt.
Disha laughed, but suddenly her laughter disappeared as Deepak roughly applied the ointment to her hands. Disha whined, and Manik couldn't see someone holding Disha's wrist. Manik frantically held Disha's wrist, and as a result, Deepak released the hold. Manik got the ointment from Deepak. He gently applied it to her hands.
When his finger brushed her hands gently, she closed her eyes and felt it touch her as if it were like a butterfly walking on her arms. When she opened her eyelids, she observed Manik gawking at her.
Please apply ointment to my hands again! I want to feel that again!
But Manik's mind traveled to the day when she didn't come and meet his mother. He decided to avoid her. He rushed outside the washroom as Maya followed him with a smirk towards Disha.
Disha again went into a sad mode, but Deepak interacted with her. Deepak tried to lighten up the mood. He gave some ideas for the competition. While Disha was reluctantly listening to him. Her mind was imagining Manik's and Maya's togetherness.
Finally, her work was completed in the office. But Manik's thought in her mind was traveling with her after reaching her hostel. Radha and Damini were not in the room. After a hectic day, she decided to sleep peacefully by placing her head on the pillow.
"Disha, come on, see me." Disha heard Manik's voice, but she could only see a black vision.
"Disha! Your euphoria diamond is with you. Open your eyes confidently." Manik's whispering sound was heard in Disha's ears.
When she opened her eyelids, she witnessed Manik's face so close to her. He had a charming smile, and that smile was the main reason why she fell for this man.
Disha blinked and realized that both were standing on the edge of the Kumbhe viewpoint. She remembered that only one person could stand in that place. She blinked again.
Disha noticed standing on her toes, pressing the bridge of Manik's foot. She was stunned as his arms circled her waist. Manik had tugged her so closely.
Disha was so spellbound that she had surrounded her arms and his neck. She liked it when she saw Manik's face, which was brighter than the sun. The surroundings around them were filled with mist. But Disha could see Manik's face.
Manik brushed his nose with hers. She had a tingling sensation in her stomach. She was enjoying the moment as she too responded by brushing her nose with his nose. Both grinned, pressing their foreheads together. She could hear her heartbeat.
Disha could feel his breath, which was warm on her skin. As he leaned more closely with desire towards Disha, she understood his motive. Her heart was filled with joy and happiness after knowing that Manik's wrath had disappeared.
His lips brushed against hers. Her spine stiffened as he pecked her lips. She closed her eyelid to feel the moment. But a sudden flash of light was what she experienced.
Disha visualized Maya kissing Manik's cheek in the office before Krish's cabin made her heart clench. She had pain in her heart.
"Why did you allow Maya to kiss you, Manik?" She whispered with a heavy voice as suddenly she only visualized blank space.
"Manik, where are you? Reply to me. Why did not you ignore Maya when she kissed you?" Disha raised her voice.
"Manik! Manik! Manik!" She screamed as she realized there were wet droplets on her face.
"Manik! It is raining. Please, Manik, save me." Disha screamed as water splashed on her face from the red water tank.
Disha opened her eyelids. Her entire face was wet. She gazed at Damini, who was wearing a red top. Damini had an empty water bottle in her hand.
"Why did you pour the entire water on me?" Disha fumed at Damini as she realized that Damini was the red water tank.
Why did I have a wild dream?
"Who is Maya? Why did you connect her with Manik?" Damini asked her, sitting next to her.
Disha realized that Damini had listened to her blabber in the dream, but she still couldn't tolerate that Manik allowed Maya to kiss her on his cheeks. Tears formed in her eyes. She broke out and cuddled Damini.
"Stop crying. Who is Maya?" Damini asked, removing the hug and wiping the tears from her cheeks.
Maya is Manik's friend!
No, Maya is Manik's girlfriend!
Does my husband have a girlfriend?
Oh no!
What do you think about Manik? Should he have allowed Maya to kiss his cheeks?
