Kalyani Chauhan and Manik have reached the Wasabi by Morimoto, located at the Taj Mahal Palace at Colaba in Mumbai. They had reached the place sharply at 6.30 p.m. The ambiance was splendid. The environment around them was calm and cozy, but Kalyani and Manik had an eye war between them. Kalyani didn't even speak with her son. Her gaze was fixed on the door, waiting for Disha.
Manik realized that he was so nervous and tense as if he were going to attend an interview. All he wanted was a good understanding between Disha and his mother.
"Mom, she didn't know my real identity. So you don't pronounce my name as Adidev in front of Disha. I am Manik Rajwat. I am working here as a project manager." Manik warned his mother.
"I couldn't tolerate the fact that you were living in that tiny apartment. You married a girl whom your father had selected. You are hiding your identity and living a middle-class life. Don't you feel ashamed?" Kalyani fumed at his son.
"What is it to feel ashamed? I didn't earn money in the wrong way. I am just disguising my identity to find the truth about what has happened in my company." Manik explained with his head high.
"Fine, why are you hiding it from that girl?" Kalyani asked him.
"Disha is an employee in my company. She is an architectural designer. I like the way she calls me Manik, and I like the way she treats me. I don't want to show my power or status to her." Manik elaborated as Kalyani let out a deep sigh.
The time was sharp at 7 p.m. But Disha didn't appear before Kalyani and Manik. Manik's heartbeat started to beat fast as he gazed at his watch multiple times. His gaze went toward the entrance, and he speculated that Disha hadn't come yet.
"Now, the time is 7.05 p.m. Given you five minutes, I wanted to meet her, or my decision will be final." Kalyani Chauhan warned his son.
Manik tried to reach out to Disha's phone. No reply came from her side. Switch off was the only reply that came from Disha's phone number. With Mahima's help, he instructed Mahima to make a phone call. But still, the reply was switched off from Disha's phone number.
"Time up, Adidev! I have an important meeting with the CEO of Nayak Construction at 7:30 p.m. So I prefer you should divorce Disha and marry Maya." Kalyani contended.
"Mom, what is the problem? You didn't even meet her. You are easily rejecting her. Why?" Manik furiously questioned his mother.
"First, she didn't come on time. If she had an interest in and passion for you, she would have reached you ten minutes earlier or on time. So, this girl doesn't have any punctuality. Second, her phone had been switched off. This girl doesn't know how to handle responsibilities in her life. How could she handle you? I don't like her behavior, so she is rejected." Kalyani elaborated by sipping the water.
"Mom, I like her." Manik confidently told his mother.
"Adidev, but she doesn't deserve a person like you." Kalyani's words irate him a lot.
"I believe in her more than myself." Manik declared, making his mom speechless.
His mom left the place as usual without even telling him bye in a rage. Manik again tried Disha's phone number, but switching off was the only answer from her number, which made him enter his vexation zone.
The next day, he searched for Disha in the office, but Disha was on half a day's leave. The entire day, his mood was off. He tried to focus on his work. But it was impossible for him.
Why is Disha's phone switched off?
Has she gotten into any problems?
Does anything bad happen to Disha?
Is she purposely ignoring me?
Each second, so many questions were crossing his mind. He couldn't answer the question running through his mind. He prepared to meet Disha in the afternoon. But Disha didn't come to the office. Disha's behavior annoyed Manik.
As sunset approached, the clouds grew more opaque. Before long, there was an intense breeze outside the office. A similar thing happened inside Manik's heart as well. Geetha was nagging him to lighten up. Still, he didn't answer.
He finished his job at the office, grabbed his bike key, and headed to the parking lot. But because of the pouring rain, he was unable to move to the parking lot. He positioned himself to avoid getting wet. His eyes grew wide at seeing Disha strolling through the rain with an umbrella clutched in her hand.
He looked her over, head to toe. The fact that she was unharmed filled him with relief. But when he thought back to the day she had not shown up to meet his mother, his normally placid expression turned angry.
Disha looked at his face and said nothing. Disha realized that he was furious. She decided to give it to him.
"Manik!" Disha called out, standing inside the umbrella.
Manik started to walk in the rain. Now he decided to ignore her and became wet in the rain. Disha followed him by calling his name multiple times. He halted his walk and remained silent.
"Shout out at me, Manik. I know that you are angry with me." Disha uttered, still standing inside the umbrella.
"Why should I shout out at you? I am not angry with you." Manik let out a fake chuckle and started to walk furiously towards his bike.
"Manik!" She again called with a lot of pain in her voice.
"Our emotions are only shown to a person whom we consider important in our lives. You are nothing in my life. Nothing!" Manik spoke sternly as he reached for his bike.
"Manik! Listen to me once! I am sorry!" Disha pleaded as she covered her umbrella over him so that he wouldn't get wet.
His gaze was on the floor, and she was about to explain her situation to him. In a swift moment, Manik tugged Disha's wrist toward him. Her upper body collided with his upper body. Her head landed on his chest. Both were holding the umbrella.
She lifted her head slowly, and her eyes met his. She speculated his wrath only for her. His charming lips turned into pouts because of her. She realized that she had changed Manik in an unexcitable way.
Disha blamed herself, a lone tear escaping from her eyes, for changing a charming man into an indignant man. While Manik tightened his grip around her waist to give her the pain that he felt when she wasn't able to meet his mother,
Yes, Disha had pain. But the pain was to see Manik's face, which was disappointing for her. The wet drops on Manik's forehead traveled to his chin and fell on Disha's forehead.
"I understand that you need some space after the forced arranged marriage happened between us. I didn't force you to meet my mother. I asked for your opinion on whether you could come and meet my mother. Didn't I ask your opinion?" Manik frantically inquired about her.
Silence was the only answer she could give, as she was dreading seeing this side of Manik.
"Yes or no?" Manik fumed, making her spine shiver in fear as the rain halted.
"Yes, you asked for my opinion. You didn't force me." Disha breathed hard, her heart was pondering.
"Then you could have easily said no. I would not have felt anything wrong. I would have respected your decision. But you promised to come and meet my mother. But you didn't come. You didn't pick up my call. Why?" Manik's voice held a disappointment, as Disha decided to speak but again halted.
"Why Disha? Why? I felt ashamed in front of my mother. I clearly understood that you hated me. You have the right to ignore me. But why did you give false hope to me that you would come and meet my mother?" Manik was worried about Disha's activities.
"I was struck by an emergency and important work," Disha mumbled.
"So, I wasn't your priority. Thanks for letting me know about it." Manik let go of the umbrella and her waist.
Manik climbed over the bike and inserted the key. Manik ignored her this time. Disha sobbed as she shook her head from left to right, not wanting to leave her alone. Manik throttled the accelerator by applying a lot of pressure. He couldn't see her in tears anymore. He drove the bike fast to leave that place. His heart would manipulate him to show concern and care for her.
Disha was deviating and exhausted. She felt guilty for what she had done to Manik. She couldn't blame Manik, all she could blame was her. The mistake was on her side. She hired a cab, and she contemplated every moment that happened in her life inside the cab. She didn't get a chance to explain herself.
When the cab reached her hostel, she witnessed Mahima standing at the entrance of the hostel. She rushed toward her. She saw Mahima's eyes, which showed disinterest in her.
"Mahima, you are also angry with me. Aren't you?" Disha murmured.
Mahima raised her right palm, and it perfectly landed on Disha's left cheek with force. Disha became speechless as her cheeks turned red.
"You are a goofy person!" Mahima yelled.
"You know very well about Manik's disinterest in marriage, but he married you. Do you know how your mother blamed Manik for your escaping activities? Leave that. Manik asked your opinion, but the way you behaved screwed up your life." Mahima confessed.
"Mahima! I was..." Disha was interrupted in the middle.
"Disha! I don't need an explanation from you. You made a mistake. When I went and informed Manik that you were in danger, Manik came to the rescue without even thinking about him. I don't ask you or force you to live a life with Manik. But give respect to Manik. Bye." Mahima furiously gave a speech about Manik and walked far away from Manik.
Disha cried hard, as no one was ready to hear her side of the story. Disha fell to her knees. She brushed her nose with the back of her palm to control her tears. But she couldn't.
---
The next day, Disha went to the office. Manik ignored her. He didn't even react to her, which caused a huge pain in Disha's heart. When she went towards her cabin, She found Deepak waiting for her. Deepak told her about the competition for the best architectural designer in India. Disha was amused to learn about it.
"Disha, it is a good opportunity for you. If you participate in this competition, you have a high chance to win." Deepak motivated her.
"You are talking as if I am going to win it today itself. It is a huge process. First, I should represent 'Jaidev Construction', and for that, I should be selected from our company. You know there are a lot of architectural designers in our company. I am fresher. Do you think I can still represent our company?" Disha furrowed her brows.
"Yes, just give it a try. Fill out the application form and give it to Krish's secretary. Maybe you can get a chance to represent Jaidev Construction." Deepak replied.
Finally, Disha managed to fill out the form perfectly. Geetha accompanied Disha as she wanted to get signed in some files with Krish. Geetha was checking the files in her hand, while Disha was busy checking the form. Geetha was shocked as her leg stopped to walk.
Disha noticed that Geetha was missing by her side. Disha glimpsed at Geetha, who was gazing at Krish's cabin with astonishment. Disha gazed at Krish's cabin. Disha stumbled as she saw a woman standing with Manik. That lady interlocked her finger with Manik's finger.
The woman's age must be around 24 to 27. She was wearing a square-neck, sleeveless white crop top with black pants. She was a modern and attractive girl. Every men will swoon at her glamorous puss. The form from Disha's hands fell on the floor as she saw Manik's charming smile toward that girl. Her hands trembled, witnessing the closeness between them.
Even Krish was standing with Manik and that strange woman. But that woman had more proximity to Manik, which clenched her heart. She had a more beautiful face and a cunning smile. Disha's eyes became moist. Disha didn't know how to react. Krish was talking with that strange woman with care.
Disha's and Geetha's eyes widened when they saw she was casually hugging Manik. That strange girl gave Manik a tight hug. Disha's heart busted into millions of pieces as Manik responded to the hug back. Krish, Manik, and that woman were chuckling out loud.
Finally, Disha's heart stopped when she witnessed that woman place a kiss on Manik's cheeks.
