16. Threatening Disha

When Manik returned to his apartment, he had tremendous joy. He wasn't tired at all. He opened his bag and took the drone. He carefully placed it on the table and went to sleep in his bed.

He couldn't sleep lying on his bed sophistically. He remembered when he slept in that tiny house with her. He felt something was missing in his life right now. His heart told him that he was missing his Disha.

The next morning, after having a bath, he didn't care to eat his breakfast. He started to retrieve the data from the drone. He saw how he and Disha were happy while standing at the viewpoint together.

He had gone on vacation with his friends, but it seemed like the best trip with someone he liked a lot. It was an adventurous journey with Disha. He turned on the projector and saw the videos that had been taken from Kumbhe's viewpoint with Disha.

He was relaxed when he saw Disha's face on the projector screen. He realized that he was getting more addicted to Disha. Every time, he saw her face. He seemed born newly.

A knock on the door disturbed him. He opened the door, walking in slow motion. He witnessed Krish standing in front of him with rage in his eyes. Manik didn't know the reason for his angry attitude.

Krish barked inside the house. He sat on the sofa and gestured for Manik to sit near him. Krish didn't say anything.

"Are you angry with me?" Manik questioned him as he handed over the glass of water from the table.

"Yes, why did you leave me for the trip? You went alone and enjoyed it. I initially refused, but you only persisted in asking me to come with you. I prepared myself for the trip. I was waiting for the entire night like a fool." Krish yelled at Manik, plucking the glass water from his hands.

Manik laughed out loud. His gaze went towards the projector screen. He rushed to turn it off. But Krish abruptly stopped him.

"Did Disha come with you on the trip?" Krish gasped in shock.

Krish ordered Manik not to turn off the video. He watched the entire photo and video with Manik. Manik wasn't scared; he also enjoyed watching it again.

"I went with Disha. It is the best trip ever in my life." Manik admitted the fact.

"How many romantic moments have you experienced with Disha?" Krish asked him to see his embarrassed and blushing face.

Hearing the 'romantic moments' word from Krish's statement. Manik remembered the way Disha hugged him at Devkund Waterfall. Manik didn't forget how they jumped together from the cliff, holding each other's hands in the secret waterfalls. At last, reaching the Kumbhe viewpoint with lots of difficulties with her made a smile appear on his face. His heart was pondering Disha's name repeatedly.

"No, it was adventurous. Disha was not like other girls; she was unique. She was hell-scared, but my motivation made her complete trekking perfectly." Manik praised Disha.

"I can't believe that you are praising someone. So you like Disha." Krish gulped the water.

"Yes, I like her." Manik admitted and added, "But as a friend."

"Oh! I will be happy if you make whatever decision in your life. Wait a minute, I forgot the reason why I came. I came here to alert you. I wanted to tell you about two problems." Krish expressed still watching the projector screen, which showed the selfie poses of Disha and Manik.

Manik was bewildered by his statement as he watched Krish's face, which was becoming serious.

"First, there is no improvement in Akash Agarwal's death mystery. The police are not responding properly to me. I even gave them money. But no use." Krish announced it in disappointment.

"If money doesn't work, then I am ready to use my power," Manik smirked.

"Second thing, my sister completed her studies in a month. She is coming back to India to marry you with the help of your mother." Krish completed it in a go, making Manik's rage appear before him.

"Dude, I will make my own decision about my marriage life. I am not interested in your sister." Manik rudely uttered.

Even Krish could understand why he produced this sentence in a rude tone. A knocking sound was heard again. This time, Manik opened the door knob fast, as he could feel a bad vibe around him suddenly.

He saw Mahima standing in front of the house with a panicked face. Behind Mahima, he saw Damini, whose face was covered with sweaty droplets.

"What happened? Is everything okay?" Manik asked them with concern.

"Manik! Disha is in danger." Mahima announced, breathing hard.

Manik gestured for them to come inside the house and ask her to relax. But Mahima refused him. Words were not able to come from her mouth.

"Disha's father and brother came to the hostel yesterday. They have taken her back to Udaipur palace forcibly, as they have arranged a wedding with your stepbrother today." Damini dreadfully conveyed the details.

"Are you sure about it?" Manik asked her again.

"I saw it with my naked eyes. They treated her so badly. She got a slap from her father and brother. Disha had dragged from our hostel room to the exit. They didn't ask her for any explanation. I think they will kill her for sure if she refuses the marriage proposal." Damini shivered, clutching Mahima's hand.

"Mahima, pack your necessary things. We are going to rescue her." Manik contended, looking at his watch.

Damini desperately wanted to help them, but she remembered about Radha. She decided to stay with Radha. Krish didn't know what was going on between these trios. He blinked, trying to understand the conversation.

"Manik, How is it possible? We will reach Udaipur only for her reception if we travel by bus or train." Mahima explained.

"We will reach you within the next 2 hours, believe me." Manik confidently said as his heart became restless.

Mahima and Damini left the place and went to take Mahima's stuff. Krish raised his eyebrow as to what his plan was.

"I want my Jet plane to reach Mumbai airport within the time I reach the airport. Then, I wanted to talk with the Home Minister of India via video call within five minutes and arrange for it immediately. I want a royal blue blazer to attend the wedding." Manik ordered Krish with a smirk.

----

Disha sat in the chair, wearing an opaque red wedding lehenga. Disha's eyes welled up with tears. Everyone looked at her when she was brought to the palace as if she had murdered someone. She was embarrassed when everyone looked at her like she was a disgusting thing. Her cheeks have gotten crimson as a result of repeated slaps from her family members, including her mother. Her mother couldn't stand the idea that she hadn't married her boyfriend, with whom she had eloped on the wedding day.

Mr. Rajwat's second wife proclaimed that the marriage between her son and Disha would be a contract marriage for a year. Disha kept her lips shut as her father threatened her.

Disha's only happy days are with her maternal grandparents in their house. Her father burned the house, which belonged to her maternal grandparents, in front of her eyes. He even kept her maternal grandparents and her mother-side relative's house under arrest. Disha didn't understand what they wanted from her.

Her tears landed on her cheeks. She couldn't tolerate her mother's side of relatives suffering because of her activities.

"Stop crying. How many times can Janvi apply makeup to your ugly face?" Vikrant Rathore yelled at Disha.

"Why? Why are you doing this to me? Release our grandparents and relatives." Disha cried, holding the collar of her brother.

"No way! Those people deserve it." Vikrant said hoarsely.

"They had given unconditional love to me from my childhood until now. Release them." Disha tugged the collar of his brother.

"Not only unconditional love, but our grandfather has written every property of his to you only." Vikrant's words bewildered Disha as she released the hold.

"You can't access the property or their money, but after marriage, your husband will get the property paper. It seems like a gift from our grandfather to the person whom you marry." Vikrant elaborated, making Disha blank out.

"Father came to know about it and decided to use you. Mr. Rajwat's second wife agreed to our deal. After you got married to that Rajwat, we decided that we would have a share of 75% and them 25%. But you eloped with your boyfriend. To our luck, you didn't marry the person with whom you eloped, so we again trapped you. But now we could get only 50% of the share. To be honest, I will be happy that you will end up as the slave in Rajwat's family for a year." Vikrant's manic attitude gave her dread inside her heart.

"If you do anything stupid, this time no one home will be burned. But our mother-side relatives will be burned alive in front of your eyes in the middle of our city." Vikrant had a devilish smile on his lips.

Disha was dragged onto the wedding platform by Vikrant. Vikrant pretended to grin as Disha's head was lowered. Rajwat and Rathore had been assembled. She was looking for her mother, but she was nowhere to be seen in the crowd. Disha's gaze was drawn to her fiance, who sat alongside her with lusty eyes. She bowed her head once more. Her spirit had departed from her body.

This society had destroyed her ambition of being an independent woman. She closed her eyes and remembered about Mumbai. She desired to live a happy life with her friends. She does not want to be treated as a servant in someone else's home.

Suddenly, she realized that in that atmosphere, everyone remained silent. Her groom was standing now. His legs were shivering. She gazed at her brother, who was boiling in rage, looking at the entrance. Her eyes traveled towards her father, who seemed stunned, gazing at the entrance. Not only them, but all eyes who came for the marriage were on the entrance.

Disha couldn't believe her eyes when she saw the entrance. She saw a man standing, wearing a royal blue blazer. She stood up and jumped on her feet. She ran towards the entrance, as no one could stop her.

When she reached that man, her arms automatically encircled his waist. She hugged him tightly and started to sob hard into his chest.

"Hey Disha, stop crying." That man embraced her tightly, not even letting a gap between them, and everyone's eyes widened.

"Manik, let's go back to Mumbai... I... don't want...to marry anyone," Disha whispered, crying in his chest and clenching his body in fear.

Manik rubbed her back. He consoled her. Vikrant approached Disha. Vikrant clenched Disha's shoulder, but his hands halted. He started to shiver. When Vikrant saw Manik's rage in front of his eyes,

Vikrant's eyes traveled towards the crowd, asking for support. But no one came. Everyone's head is lowered in front of Manik. No one dared to even look at him. Manik's father, Karan, was perplexed. Vikrant's hand again tried to take Disha's arm.

But this time, Vikram halted the activities of Vikrant. Vikram, Disha's father, even had some dread glimpsing at Manik. Nehru Patil, a close friend of Vikram, signaled Vikram and Karan to do something. Manik understood everything. He broke the hug and intertwined his finger with her finger.

"My dear old chum, I am taking Disha back to Mumbai," Manik confessed to his father.

He wasn't asking for permission, but it was like information to his father. Manik's words gave relief to Disha. She had a smile and a tear on her face.

"Hello, Disha's boyfriend. Disha is my sister. She will get married to Karan Rajwat's son, and she will stay in Udaipur. Disha will never go with you to Mumbai." Vikrant fumed, raising his voice.

"What rubbish are you talking about?" Vikram yelled at his son.

"He is Disha's boyfriend. Disha eloped with him on the wedding day, which was arranged for Rajwat's first son." Vikrant screamed, pointing his hands towards Manik.

"Hey, Disha's boyfriend. You don't have any right to decide about Disha's life. Disha needs to marry the person who belongs to the Rajwat family. Both Vikram and Karan had an alliance with each other's families. After all, this girl deserves this treatment." Nehru Patil accused Disha.

"Disha is a disgrace to the Rathore family." An old male person who was a relative of Rathore screamed.

Manik glimpsed at Vikram, who gulped his saliva hard from mouth to throat. Manik wanted Disha's father to take care of his daughter. Karan tried to interrupt to solve the problem. But Manik gestured for him to be silent, as he wanted Disha's father to speak. But everyone started to use abusive words against Disha for eloping with her boyfriend.

No one in the crowd could tolerate the fact that they witnessed it in front of their eyes for a few minutes.

"After all these happenings, this girl didn't have any shame. She hugged her boyfriend in front of a crowd on her wedding day when her groom was sitting on the stage."

"Look at her! Still, she is holding her boyfriend's hands."

Rathore relatives gossip about her, making her tears fall from her eyelids to the ground. Manik released the hold of his finger on hers. Disha felt ashamed when Manik even misunderstood the fingers interlocking and hugging in the wrong way. She was broken and deviated to hear these words from her circle.

"Vikram Rathore, Do you have anything to say for your friends, relatives, and family members about me and Disha?" Manik asked in his warning tone, glimpsing at Vikram and Disha's faces.

"Mr. Rathore, just speak up. Damn it!" Manik roared like a lion, which made Disha sacred, as she had never seen him like this before.

What will happen to our Disha?
